Name: Finn Crawford
Age: 13
Appearance:
Personality: Despite his age, Finn thinks like a 50 years old man who is disappointed with his life. Everything was better back then and now everything is just going worse and worse. In example, everything was great in elementary school, all in the class were friends together but in the middle school they started to try act like adults and started to be mean to each other. He has an almost unbelievable ability to see something negative in pretty much everything.
Finn sees himself as a mature person. He has a naïve idea that seeing something bad in everything, “being realistic” as he calls it, makes him somehow more adult than the other people of his age, who are only interested in having fun and try to act more adult than they are. Finn is not actually that different from them, as he also tries to act more adult than he is, just in a different way. The main difference is merely that while Finn tries to prove his maturity to himself the others try to prove it to others as well. That’s something he has never happened to think.
Finn rarely shows his negative attitude, though. Instead he acts pretty cheerful and criticizes others only inside his mind and with some closest friends. It is generally not too hard to become friends with Finn, as he does not really know how to keep people away and he rarely dares to hurt anyone’s feelings. This is not really because he would be extremely thoughtful but simply because a habit and wanting to avoid trouble.
Rabbits are Finn’s soft spot. They always manage to make him smile even though Finn never forgets to think that they’ll die someday. His secret dream occupation is to become a rabbit breeder, just like his mother. His oldest sister is the only one who knows this secret. The sister is the person who Finn trusts the most because she always acts so mature and rarely makes fun of people. The sister also respects Finn as the person who he is.
Back story: One could call Finn’s family full. He has three older sisters and one younger and, on the top of that, her mother is a rabbit breeder, so his house is filled with long-eared friends. It’s not a bad family at all, though. Sure, the siblings argue from time to time, but they still care about each other. Being the only boy had caused Finn a small dilemma about not fitting in, especially when his mother works home but father not, but aside from this his family is pretty great. Finn naturally has lately always found something to complain about it, though.
Finn was actually a mildly positive person till he turned ten. Well, at least more positive than he currently is. When he was on the third grade he did not used to think how great everything was back in second grade and how full of faults everything was right at the moment. Partly it was because everything was pretty well in the elementary school. His class had unusually strong team spirit and bullying was quite rare. Everyone helped each other and Finn become used to helping others without selfish causes. Finn had many great friends who tended to be so optimistic that Finn rarely had chance to be cynical for a long time period. Partly it was because Finn had not learned to be very pessimistic yet.
When Finn was ten, he discovered reading news from internet. Along it he started to read comments of news and discovered a whole new extremely cynical and pessimistic world. In the beginning Finn thought that people who complained like that were just idiotic, but slowly the new way to think started to affect him. It did not help either that his dear pet rabbit which he had had as long as he could remember died that year. Slowly but surely Finn learned to see a bad side in almost everything and to think that it was more important than the good side of the same coin.
As the middle school started, people around Finn changed. They started to try to be more adult and act cool. Some started to bully others and some were bullied. This did not really help Finn to regain his former a bit happier attitude to life. In order to not end up bullied Finn started to adept in the new social environment. He attempted to act a bit cool and though he never started to personally bully others or even encourage it, he did barely anything to stop it. He just thought how stupid the bullies were but kept this thought inside his head.
Extra: Finn has currently tree rabbits. They are Bullet, a grey mini lop, Narnia, the white lionhead rabbit and Juliet, a black polish rabbit.
What did you wish for?: Finn wished for the past to return. In the train he saw his elementary school class being happy together and his late bunny.
