Tobias finished helping out some of the ships crew in securing some of the rigging on the port side of the ship just prior to the captain shouting the next set of orders to his crew, which followed by a few low grumbles as they shuffled off elsewhere about their duties. Tobias then began walking towards the front of the ship as he got closer he could hear a familiar raised voice. "Look!, I'm sorry but i am really not interested!, so please just leave me ALONE!" Nearing the front of the ship Tobias passed a depressed-looking & heartbroken young man walking away towards the hatch leading to the lower decks. Shortly after having walked-up a few steps Tobias had arrived at the front of the ship to see Katia with her arms hanging over the side of the ship having sunk to her knees in relief, Tobias quietly walking over and stopping beside her, then leaning over to rest his shoulders against the edge as he stared out into the ocean causing to Katia to audibly sigh as a result before she spoke up. "I want off this boat, I'm sick of getting asked to go courting or to meet up for drinks when he dock somewhere... and that guy just now, I've lost count how many times he's tried to hit on me."
Tobias smirked "I'm equally tired of hearing your complaints, every time someone asks you" Tobias Scratched his beard trying to think out his words before continuing the awkward discussion as he was never one for properly handling delicate situations & emotions of other people well as his wife mostly dealt with that in the past. "You know normal gir..." Tobias forced a cough to restart "what i mean is you're at the age where..." Tobias was feeling even more awkward with each passing second "What i mean is?..." Tobias let out a huge sigh hanging his head in the process before going on "Look you should live your life, your a really pretty lass so you cant blame guys for asking any its normal to be interested... and..." A grin spread wider & wider on Katia as Tobias went on and on trying to discuss the matter before she spoke up to end his suffering & bring an end to the awkwardness, "Ok, ok, I know all that, ok!, I'm just not interested with any of them, so just leave it, PoP's!" Katia emphasized the word pops at the end as she gave him a smiling but sarcastic side-glance.
Tobias started to relax as he jokingly thought that it would've of been far easier raising a boy passed through the back of his mind as the conversation ended. He acted like he never noticed Katias glace at him, trying to hide a smile at the PoP's comment as he always thought it was only right her real parents should have that title he was just a guardian for Katia but Tobias had come to care for her as his own over the years, not admittedly though.
As they both stayed there watching the water, a voice shouted down from far above "Land ahead!" a bunch of cheers shortly followed as it wouldn't be much longer before they finally arrived at their destination, passengers & crew-members started to come up on deck to see for themselves. Tobias stood just as the ships captain appeared at his side offering a bottle to him "It's been a rough few weeks, but we're nearly there!" Tobias took a swig from the bottle before handing it back "Glad we took you on board back then, both you and y'er lass have been indispensable not just with helping out around the ship & with the passengers but with them looters & the pirates on the way here, if you ever need to sail elsewhere just let me know!, there will always be a place on board fer you two!" The captain then finished the bottle in one go before throwing it overboard, before turning to shake hands with Tobias. "It was the least we could do for allowing us on-board at short notice, Thank you for getting us here!" Tobias shook the captains hand before the captain had walked away back to the rear of the ship.
A small group had gathered at the front of the ship everyone searching to see the land in the distance, it wasn't a surprise to Tobias that Katia had slunk off to avoid the crowed as she was never one for being around groups of people. Tobias instead just stood there watching out while thinking on what they needed to do when they arrived at their destination.

Details: Tobias is a bulky, broad-shouldered, heavily muscled warrior with arms & legs are as strong as tree trunks, stands at an impressive 6ft'5, his entire body is covered with multiple battle-scars gathered across the years all with varying levels of fading, his long hair & beard mostly conceal the handful of scars on his face.
Clothing/Armor:
Commonly wears a simple light-brown short-sleeve linen tunic which has faded celtic embroidery along the shoulders, & around the neck, wrists, base of the tunic, a heavily faded clan emblem is stitched into the linen just below the v of the neck. Simple black/extremely dark-brown loose-fitting linen trousers with a long ropeish-lace around the waist for fastening. Comfortably padded but heavily worn/beaten strapped leather boots which were evidently costly when they where newly made but barely worth rubbing two copper coins together in their current state. Studded leather bracers on his forearms, A simple but thick dark leather belt around his waist which has a bulky dulled-bronze celtic-patterned buckle, has a simple coin pouch fastened to his belt just right of the buckle, a small leather pouch attached to his belt just right of the coin pouch directly on his right-side, always keeps one of his long daggers in its scabbard attached to the back of his belt with the hilt horizontally facing to the right, another small leather pouch at the back left of his belt near the base of daggers scabbard, & a medium hard-leather pouch on his left attached to the belt.
Possesses a large bulky, heavily beaten & worn leather backpack with a dozen attachable pouches, loop-able leather straps, clips/hooks, etc... for carrying various goods when needed. Also has a lengthy, light-brown, thinly-tanned, hooded, leather cloak with a simplistic bronze brooch resting near the right shoulder for fastening or unfastening the cloak, considerable fraying shows at the lower edges of the cloak & some damage at the brooch from the cloak being hastily removed(See: combat-attire), usually only worn to protect from the cold, rain or wind while out & about.
Discreetly keeps the thin finely honed blade & its scabbard fastened under the leather straps on his right boot as a last resort-backup.
Like in the picture Tobias wears thick heavy-plated armor, underneath the plate armor is a thin chain-mail shirt worn over a studded medium leather doublet - which while providing additional armor, also serves as padding which helps dissipate the force of a direct or heavy hit against the outer armor allowing the wearer to shrug off some or most of the force/impact of the hit & some/any of the pain that would normally be received from the blow, in turn allowing the wearer to continue fighting undaunted. Note: though very well cared for the armor shows signs of considerable wear & tear, with evidence of past repairs made to it some seemingly makeshift.
All weapons listed below would obviously be worn, along with the metal kite shield which has a battle-scarred & faded clan emblem on it at the center very similar to the one on his tunic, which on closer look of the shield sits under a larger more prominent emblem & above three smaller lesser emblems.
Is able to attach his hard-leather pouch & another small pouch to his belt with what little space there is left to carry some basic essentials, i.e water pouch, snacks, rags/bandages, polish, dice, etc... Also while on march & not in combat can wear/carry his cloak over his armor/equipment & over that his backpack (if in the field for a long time allows him to carry camping equipment & additional supplies.) both of which he can dropped/removed quickly to engage in combat if ambushed on the road.
Weapons: - Blessed Longsword in scabbard attached to his waist. - Two long daggers one fastened in scabbard under his left forearm the hilt facing his elbow, the other in scabbard attached to the back of his waist the hilt horizontally facing to the right. - Six throwing javelins in a quiver attached vertically to his back. - A slim, finely honed, razor tipped blade in small scabbard attached to his lower right leg/boot. - Leather-reinforced metal kite shield, with sharpened blade-tip at the base, can be slung diagonally across his back & over the quiver or fastened to his left arm like a buckler shield (allowing his left hand to remain free in combat) by belt-straps.

Skills/Abilities:
Skilled Veteran - Has trained many warriors, fought in countless battles & the odd street/tavern brawl over the years utilizing both his bare-hands & a vast variety of weapons resulting in him being very proficient with most weapons. Most notably however he is an exceptionally skilled sword-fighter that few can match even with his advanced years.
Expert defense - Tobias has gained impressive strength & durability from his training, hard work & donning heavy armor in battle throughout his life. Able to stand strong against near devastating blows & continuous enemies/attacks while being able to move & fight back. The sight of this unrelenting tank of a warrior on the battlefield has inspired many a ally & solider over the years in battle to continue fighting on in even the most seemingly hopeless of battles. As such He is very much respected and renowned by the warriors & people from his native northern islands.
Iron stomach - Tobias is an insanely tough man as he can eat near anything regardless of smell/taste/food source. (we're talking stuff that would kill, or at least make a billy-goat puke let alone other warriors/people.) Very fortunate skill for him as it is likely the only reason he's survived Katia's culinary skills to date.
learned scholar - Most wouldn't know it initially but Tobias is a very learned man who is literate & enjoys reading any books he can get a hold of, skilled in mathematics, trade, logistics, & several old world/dead languages on odd occasions has been tasked with translating old texts.
A Farmer by trade - When not fighting as a warrior he peacefully likes to start up & tend to a farm to make his living which also helps keep him fit with all the manual labor involved. He occasionally hunts or goes fishing when necessity demands it but not over proficient at either. When not having any work to do on a farm he spends his time reading, writing, or more than likely having to put-up / deal with Katia.
Magic: The Blessed longsword - That was given to him is able to harm demons, but also most supernatural beings giving him a fighting chance against any formless/astral less physical creatures, albeit nowhere near as effective or potent as actual magic would be capable of, the sword has helped him & others survive some pretty dire situations in the past.
Backstory:
Tobias since his youth was regarded as a good and honorable man, his father proud of the fact he excelled both in martial & intellectual pursuits, a fine heir to the family name which would bring glory to the clan they served which he did becoming a close adviser & right hand commander to the clans warlord who ruled a fertile region spanning over one seventh of their island. Years of fighting against power hungry warlords from the other regions gained Tobais incredible amount of combat experience & battle tactics.
A few years later out of no-ware refugees began flooding to their island seeking protection, as rumors from the most norther region began to spread of horrors appearing & attacking innocents. These rumors soon became truth as demons came stampeding across the island, the warring clans uniting to face the threat on open fields in hopes of repelling attacks against their villages & towns, On one of these expeditions Tobias & his squires came across slaughtered refugees and one little dehydrated & starved survivor hidden under two bodies that practically fell side by side.
Tobias rescued the young Katia and brought her back to his home & his wife to protect her, Tobias's wife adored Katia and instead of having her raised by one of the servant families, choose to raise Katia herself and came to care for her as if she where her own. Meanwhile Tobias was becoming increasingly distressed as the demon attacks where getting more frequent & worse more & more territory was being lost every passing week as well as innocents & warriors in the process.
Eventually His worst fears came to pass the attacks crossed into their territory & descended upon the town his estate was in Tobias led his retainers in a valiant defense to buy time for the locals to flee but their efforts where fruitless as they where overwhelmed and no aid arrived from the other towns or the ruling warlord instead they bottled themselves in hopes of holding out in their own. Tobias lost almost everything including his beloved wife but he managed to rescue some of his retainers, their families & Katia who had been barricaded in his wife's room. After fleeing to his warlords capital Tobias appeared before his lord and threw down a worn battle standard denouncing the warlord to his face before storming out. After seeing that the few survivors that had fled with him had found a safe place under the care of temple priests he went to leave Katia choosing to follow him as after all she saw him as a father figure & was missing Tobias's wife and despite her young age knew Tobias was hurting too choosing to stay with him instead of within the protection of the temple was both out of compassion for Tobias & her attachment to him as a parent.
Before he left the temple one of the priests came before him and presented a longsword claiming the high priest was grateful for saving his sons family that had resided in Tobias's village and after hearing what he did in-front of the warlord he could think of no warrior more honorable & worthy to possess the weapon, Its was here Tobias understood a little why the temple was so quick to offer refugees a refuge without being asked in advance, Out of respect he accepted the sword and later found how useful it would prove to be over the coming years.
They roamed from place to place & island to island, settling where they could, training, teaching & raising Katia along the way, Tobias volunteering as a sell-sword to most militias & armies fighting off the early appearances of the horrors at each place before they began to get overwhelmed. Eventually after a long time wandering Tobias overheard at a tavern a ship crew was planning to skip the nearby islands that where already flooding with refugees and make a go for a distant port town in the south called Waeldeshore to get a good distance away from the horrors spreading in the north, a few dozen rounds of ale later and a lengthy discussion with the ships captain he has acquired passage on-board the ship as a guard along with Katia as they sailed to the distant port town.

Details: An enchanting beauty with a slender but muscular build, her toned muscles are discreet but noticeable when she wears her casual short-sleeved cloths. Often ties her hair back when working, training or in combat, she also has a few faded scars on her arms & legs.

Wears a simple white short-sleeve linen tunic, a light leather half-jacket, Light-brown linen trousers with a fashionable thin leather belt, comfortable & somewhat beaten strapped leather boots, has a simple coin pouch fastened to her belt along with two small leather pouches attached to the belt as well.
Possesses an averaged sized backpack with various clips & straps on it to attach or carry various goods when needed. Also has a light-brown, thinly-tanned, hooded, leather cloak with a simplistic bronze brooch resting near the center of the neck for fastening or unfastening the cloak, shows some light fraying at the edges.
Wears leather doublet armor, leather vambraces, with sectional iron armor plates attached over vital organs, over the leather armor to provide additional protection without overly weighing down the wearer allowing them speed & freedom of movement allowed by lighter armors. (i.e. Left shoulder pauldron, Torso breastplate, upper leg Tassets, knee Poleyns). Detachable leather straps add-ons to her belt that act as axe holster/loops.

Fast & Agile Fighter - Unlike Tobias, Katia moves fast on the battlefield and moves with the reflexes & precision of a cat, her skilled flurry of consecutive and/or precise attacks severely press/overwhelm her opponents, and her highly impressive ability to dodge & weave from any incoming opponents attacks with lightning speed & grace put most onlookers in awe.
Unnaturally Strong - From being cared for & raised/trained by Tobias from a young age Katia has become impressively strong, which given her slender but somewhat muscular build the feats of strength she can accomplish is seen by others as unbelievable or unnatural.
Skilled Warrior - Katia has been thoroughly trained to fight with various weapons and use different martial techniques in combat, she has roughly average skills with most weapons however Katia displays exceptional skill with both the spear & sword. It should be noted her personal preferences is the reason she carries a small assortment of weapons into battle but seems to favor wielding a spear as her main weapon.
Tracker/Hunter - Katia has keen hunting & tracking skills a skill set her carer doesn't have, What she hasn't self taught she's picked up from other hunters on her travels. Not being one for books or to sit still for more than a few hours at a time one of Katias favorite pastimes is hunting wild game she's also picked up decent butchery & tanning skills as a result over the years. Evidently she's not a very screamish person when it comes to blood a useful little trait in battles however her private, survivalist, & tomboyish personality makes it difficult for her to 'fit in' most communities & when dealing with people other than Tobias.
Delusional Cook - Katia strongly believes she is a very skilled cook regardless if its a recipe she's done many times or never before she gets it perfect, in truth anything she cooks turns out horrific is either prepared wrong, burnt to hell, or just tastes flat out horrible preferring to go on instinct rather than written recipes. Becomes slightly annoyed and/or depressed if she eats anyone else's cooking & it tastes better than hers. (Note: If Tobias invites you for a drink you've got on his good-side if he invites you to stay for a meal you've got on his bad-side & he intends to make you suffer with Katias cooking, although some victims suspect he might of actually been trying to assassinate them with such horrific dishes, the last person who actually made the accusation got beaten up by an enraged Katia who then stormed off claiming some people have no taste.)

Backstory:
Katia was from a wealthy family on an island to the north west which was long overrun by demons & horrors, her family had managed to flee with other refugees to a northern island that was suffering from the early stages of unnatural happenings & demons appearing, the more warlike clans of this island uniting to fend off the evil befalling them. It was here A very young Katia lost her parents to corrupted monsters as she recalls that attacked the wandering refugees & where she was rescued by a group of native warriors.
Some of her earliest memories are of a well-off & respected family on their estate and one of her rescuers a middle-aged version of Tobias & his wife who where both nice to her, however she favored Tobias wife more due to being primarily cared for by her & got to play games with her, that & Tobias was a little intimidating being as he was a heavy built rough looking warrior who had to leave for extended periods of time regularly. This went on for some time in which Katia had started picking up some fighting moves from the estate guards during training & the odd self-defense lessons from either Tobias or his wife.
Meanwhile the situation had been getting progressively worse on the island whole clans had been falling one by one, and it wasn't half a year before the clan Tobias served was attacked & overrun by demons, Again Katia was to suffer the horrors around her as she began to lose all she knew for a second time and was protected by Tobias's wife who herself fell defending their home with the few guards that had remained when Tobias led his troops off to defend the city. Katia doesn't recall much other than a bloodied Tobias coming to her rescue again prior to them fleeing the town with a handful of other refugees.
Over the next few years Katia traveled with Tobias from place to place, island to island trying to get away from the chaos that seemed to be spreading everywhere, along the way Tobias served as a sell-sword and trained Katia how to fight as well eventually in her mid teens actually taking her into some skirmish battles to gain combat experience. Tobias also tries teaching Katia basic literature, math & other intellectual pursuits despite her continued disinterest, Still she owes the fact she can spell her name & read most common words, & count money is again thanks to Tobias who she has come to see as her adoptive father.
Most recently They boarded a ship which planned to travel very far to get away from the evil descending upon the people, This ship was heading for a place called Waeldeshore which Tobias had secured a place on-board for them.

Just want to say I'm a little shy or rather fear others will shoot down or criticize anything i post which is why i tend to send private convo's, probably a bit of both i guess... But everyone on this forum seems pretty friendly & easy going so.... Hi all i guess. :-)
So yea going with what ulsterwarrior said above:
"I think we have two ways we can go about it in two ways. We can either first create an entire map of the world and then start filling in nations accordingly, or we can design the nations first and create a map afterwards."
Both are good approaches but i agree with what VarionusNW said about setting basics with the central/initial nations & background lore & build up around that & map from there.
As from what i got from the opening post your wanting to start it from scratch, So having something to build around sounds like a good approach for this situation, you could always make a map around that after & if wanted/needed could easily add or expanded upon it adding in other kingdoms/factions to it afterwards, but that's just my view.
So yea, some possible/rough starter ideas:
- So causes or reasons for war... say Faction-1 is a large central country on the continent masses of vast fertile fields, forests, expansive plains, many iron, silver, gold mines in its mountains & hills a very prosperous country, has a large powerful standing experienced army with legendary: Cavalry or archers just one something specially specific to them which is renowned even the neighboring factions, and to top it off all trade going east & west passes through them making their markets full with exotic goods & endlessly flowing coin.
However as said their country (Faction-1) is huge it takes time to mobilize its martial force to respond to invasions also the fact the country's so big it boarders 4-5 other factions surrounding it, meaning they have to leave some forces in reserve & on defense elsewhere not allowing them to bring the full brunt of their military against one particular foe in-case another neighboring faction tries to take advantage of the situation, like they have tried in the past so opens up historical lore/hatred for them & other factions, also this plot allows for story continuation for example: they heroically repel invasion from Faction-2 but after the army returns victorious and dismisses it's levy troops & local lords personal forces etc, a month later Faction-3 chooses to launch a harsh campaign from a different direction, this can add story content, people are tired of the constant wars, veterans from different towns villages that served in past campaigns reuniting, taking story through different locations where battle tactics & what-have-ya, would have to change to deal with the new terrain & different military styles used from faction-2.
Then some of faction-1's court are corrupt & power hungry hiding & ultimately blinding the ruling party/king from vital information in hopes of gaining position and/or power in backroom politics/deals while doing so, some lords my harbor Sedition to other lords or to the ruling king sympathizing with enemy factions for betrayal or plotting to assume power themselves. This also opens story for loyal characters or lords to counter, prevent, or try to salvage such occurrences as they appear so there are actions away from the battlefield as well. To which end the country being prosperous would have issues with bandits & so fourth as well for more non-battle related story events.
Faction-2 could be another prosperous economic powerhouse with a huge military but where its governing power is shared between the ruling king & their religious leader making them believe they are fighting for a just & holy cause instead of the ambitious expansionist greed of their rulers. or they want the prosperous farmlands & or mines within faction-1's territory, but they have problems too as they themselves boarder another 2-3 factions with shakey past relations as well, so when wars not going on between them & faction-1, faction-2 is having to hold off... faction-8, so even with all the chaos war still surrounds faction-1 even against opponents they haven't faced before if they ever manage to deal with their immediate threats etc... This allows for traveler or mercenary story content from players.
Faction-3 could be a resurgent nation seeking revenge against those who attacked/exploited/enslaved/colonized them in the past with mostly arid lands and suffering economy they are intent on acquiring fertile lands/wealth/resources though not as well established as other factions their military power could count on expansive numbers of enraged troops with an axe to grind with their opponents. but as such their governing power could be split between internal factions or other warlords wanting overall power from the others.
A quiet Faction-4 that boarders faction-1 & faction-3, could be another large kingdom however the lack of external action is because they are trying to keep quiet the fact they're in the middle of a civil-war (possibly between multiple factions) & fear others seeking to take advantage of them as they wear down their own military capabilities internally.
Faction-5 alternatively could be a really small kingdom stuck between other smaller or the larger factions, having to be very diplomatic & tactful changing alliances regularly to remain standing/neutral. but rich in ores or other rare resources.
Faction-6 could be separated by an inland-sea from faction-1 & the others but has others at it's back, not overly large or powerful with a stable economy however their military is known for being very adaptable & have very complex & devastating military tactics. But large part of their army is made up of indentured servants. opening story content for slave uprisings & the like.
Yea, i Kinda shortened it as some of the ideas i put down would've made it twice as long lol, So there's just some basic ideas to use or build on for starters, i hope ya like some of them at least?, & please forgive any spelling errors or anything, heh... :-)

Yea, kinda shy on the communicating front, it's a rl issue too, i do try to contact through private messages at times though, and yea totally had no idea who i was near or next to space-wise couldn't see any info detailing anything like that, also about the presuming history & checking with gm i'm going to chawk that up to my lack of judgement & writing Ns for review my bad... i guess.
And skepic thanks for noting & liking the re-brand of conquest to a friendlier term, the idea behind their overly friendly too good to be true deals & since the war starting etc, the background idea was my faction investing in the "long game" winning over the populous while aiding & arming them with the end goal in mind if they won, the planet would willingly join into the republic for security not just allowing them trade route access but expansion of their "non-aggressive" boarders so as not to incur the direct wrath (war dec) of another faction seeing them as an aggressive expansionist force getting to powerful & so fourth.
Now guy's im sorry, i wasn't meaning to come off as overpowered or proclaiming they actually have the best of everything, which after reading ppl's comments & looking back over i can see i haven't written or presented it right?... I was trying to describe it like it's the Arkadians self-targeted propaganda "their navy is ready for anything, the dutiful common solider is heavily trained to deal with any threat to the people!" etc, their heavy focus on superior massive space fleets was meant to be a hint that they don't want to risk ground combat on their home planets or a full-blown war in general due to their overly "defensive nature" given their tech & size. also meant to hint that while well equipped & trained (fairly short numerically in comparison to others troops - at least in Anuria forces deployment) in they've had little actual combat experience / war experience as having mostly dealt with rouge criminal/pirate organizations which simply doesn't compare on scale of the severity of it. So i am sorry as being 'overly op' was not the intent.
Also again @ Skepic "lacking color" With the Veiled examples that the imperial family (risen to power in their "unification wars") still practically holds the power reins over everything, while outwardly they're viewed as a peaceful and industrial republic of the people. And i haven't finished the Ns yet, I was intending to add that several of the more recent planets & people that got amalgamated into the republic (along with what i said about "the empress thinking of committing additional resources") while being treated as second class citizens where launching anti-war or anti-republic protests, while the recent "drafts" for the increased investment in the policing action where being focused on these planets. The republic wanting them to pull their weight & be productive members proving themselves by serving while the protests get violent & law enforcement has to suppress them, causing rumors & upset for the troops. And write more hints at the republics news agencies being regulated by the state on what they can report always placing the republic in the "good" light to help keep its citizens happy knowing they're always doing the right thing & be proud of their government, etc...

Right, hope y'all aren't to harsh on my factions NS, they're a mobile "policing force" trying to restore peace to Anuria, haven't finished it, & have not written a lot of details like the empress thinking of committing additional resources / military forces to the forces already present on the planet etc... basically a lot of stuff is either bare-bones or not done yet.

Nation Name Republic of Arkadia - Arkadians
Nation Size The Arkadian Republic holds ten systems, forty-two owned & populated worlds, two "world class" Space stations (massive space stations which are more or less regarded as small artificial worlds which act as industrial, trade, logistics & naval centers between the planets & the capital world) numerous military bases, outposts & space stations are scattered through-out the republics territory. Their total population is estimated to be roughly around seventy-five billion. (Exact population counts are difficult to pinpoint due to the numerous, worlders, spacers, Traders (i.e. migrating space trade-caravans & the families living on the ships) & travelers constantly changing & moving through-out their territory, yet unregistered births/deaths, then also taking into account any new members to republic & refugees seeking a safe haven from the ongoing conflicts elsewhere).
Nation Description Although Arkadia is a rising democratic republic the majority of power still resides within the hands of the founding Imperial family & the Holy Empress herself, all military forces swear allegiance not to the republic but to the ruling emperor or empress currently on the throne. The senate & its representatives oversee the everyday goings on & double as advisers to the ruling Empress they hold many positions of office and are all freely elected by the people of their respective territories & planets, with the exception of eight of the ten high lord seats within the senate. The ten high lords seats are directly below the throne symbolizing their position & authority over the rest of the senate the two free seats that people can elect someone to hold them are the Seat of the divine (chosen religious leader - which rarely changes & often only in the event of the previous holder passing away), & the Seat of commerce (overall trade & economy official - tends to change regularly on three year averages though often not popular there have been a few holders of this seat the people have respected holding it.)
The republic is a fast growing economic powerhouse its ever expanding trade companies, trade routes, stock-markets, consumer driven supply & demand regulated pricing of goods & free open-markets are slowly becoming the envy of other powers so much so many foreign trading companies have joined in various ventures with Arkadian companies preferring their markets, financial safeguards, & regulations, which in turn have slowly began to weaken the economy of outsiders who have refused to join & work under the regulations of the FTA "Free Trade Alliance" which is the overruling authority managing the domestic & foreign trade networks, logistics, supply & demand regulated fair market pricing & the many trade companies associated with the republic. The republic has many planets abundant with practically untapped resources at their disposal, their agriculture, industry, science, & military are all equally booming & ever growing and expanding as-well as their trade & information networks are, The republic is rapidly making itself known to the universe as a power to be reckoned with.
Ultimately the Arkadian republic is a free, peaceful & content nation ruled by a benevolent Empress, in which the people have freedom of press, free health care, a government system where they freely have a vote to voice their opinions, and as such are fiercely loyal & steadfast in its continued perseverance & defense. However if the Emperor/Empress see's fit they can enact any immediate decisions to which the republic has to abide by though rarely done.
Nation Involvement The Arkadians had actually been an early & comparatively peaceful diplomatic visitor to Anuria seeking to establish relations with the indigenous population on the planet & unlike other factions had no intention of colonizing the planet or bringing it & its people under their ownership by force. Instead they simply wished to set up several intergalactic commercial spaceports to boost the reach & volume of the republics foreign trade as (at least for the Arkadians position in the universe) would offer them a central trade route which would connect them to the ancient cradle of humanity the Sol system as well as open other trade routes with many other factions otherwise outside of the republics current reach. Not a bad deal for the indigenous people of Anuria either as the otherwise unremarkable planet would become a central trade-hub, tourist hotspot (holiday location for its scenery), & a valued historical site all of which would only bring abundant wealth & prosperity to them. The only halfway selfish thing the Arkadians asked was the right to establish a military outpost or space station for their military & fleets to resupply & operate from, but even this was mainly for a position to provide policing & security for the trade routes which would be established even further elevating dangers for the locals. The people of Anuria where greatly supportive of the proposition as well as being allowed their own independence over the planet, so much so that there were apparently whispers of some Anurians wishing for the planet to join the republic even though it was not asked of them, However both the trade proposition, & the "whispers" were met & clashed with the diplomatic interests of the already present NSNV attache on the planet, which also had no interest in seeing their economy through foreign-trade weakened further than it was already by the Arkadians, as if the trade proposition was accepted it would of allowed the Arkadians to dramatically extend their economic reach & influence, resulting in a severe impact on the NSNV markets & economy, there where several other factions who's interests & similar worries resulted in them joining the NSNV in blocking the Arkadians proposals dead in the water or at least mostly, the Arkadians influence was stifled by the other powers their propositions tied up & blocked in negotiations however as security was a growing concern in the political climate on the planet the Arkadians where granted one request, they had permission to construct an orbital space station for future policing efforts, which had been undertaken almost immediately as if the ships & resources to build it had been waiting in advance (The speed of which caught the eye & concern of the other factions at the time) the basic framework, power-facilities, docks, basic housing & facilities had been finished just prior to the current conflict igniting.
The Arkadians where caught by surprise when the conflict began the mass hysteria and confusion, rumors of embassy bombings & diplomatic delegates being assassinated, when as time went on was followed by the constant news updates of fighting erupting across the planet, reports of Anurias military being heavily overwhelmed, military forces from other nations arriving under the pretense to help, others more openly arriving to stake a claim on the planet for their own reasons & ambitions. It wasn't long before the total chaos had engulfed the planet the staggering death-tolls arriving with every update of new combat locations, Initially the local Arkadian contingent deployed it's forces to secure their embassy in preparation to evacuate the premises as news of the conflict was coming ever closer with the speed & intensity of a wildfire in the brush, along with continued reports of routing Anurian forces & news of civilian massacres flooding in.
It was here when chief ambassador "Azeke Oki" (From Ile, 8th central planet of the republic) sat in his office as his subordinates ran circles around his desk gathering up files to take with them or to burn, started up his private comms-console installed on his desk & began going through his contacts list trying to find anyone of the Anurian government that would answer. According to his secretary he'd almost given up nearing the end of his contact list to no avil, when he managed to get into contact with a low ranking official connected to the education board who while luckily having her portable communicator with her had been evacuated along with what remained of the Anurian government members.
While utter chaos continued, communications had opened up between the Arkadians & the Anurians with-in the course of only a few hours, the Arkadian senate who'd been receiving & watching the constant news feeds of the horrors going on around Anuria and after extensive closed talks with what remained of the Anurian government took to a decision to send aid & help protect the civilian population a decision which over 79% of the senate supported and approved. The Holy Empress, wished to send aid but an overriding decision by her would of looked forceful & expansionarily militaristic, instead leaving the decision to the democratic body of the republic which in-turn gave the appearance of the Arkadians responding to a humanitarian crisis, although she may have had some influence on a few of the senators to create such overwhelming support for the proposition.
And thus these actions announced the republics participation into the conflict, Additional forces had been dispatched from their sovereignty and already present forces in Anuria began to act.
Although awaiting the arrival of the bulk of their forces the locally available republic forces planet-side began to move deploying from their space station in orbit, & from some of the nearest garrisons from the extreme borders of the republics interests. But most notably consisted mainly of elements from the 473rd Torpus regiment which although well trained and equipped had very little actual combat experience up to this point in history as it was a fairly new regiment and detachments from the 28th's Arkadian fleet. Which were originally intended as a security force to deal with any criminal factions operating around Anuria & its space lanes & its presence (as agreed by allowing the construction of the station) to help keep the volatile political unrest in check while jointly allowing the 473rd to collect more operational experience.
Arkadian forces immediate & main focus was trying to secure population centers & safeguard fleeing refugees while linking up with remnants of the Anurian military, their rapid & decisive deployment actually startled, and delayed other factions forces for almost twenty-four hours, Numerous news teams soaked up massive amounts of footage of overjoyed refugees, previously terrified civilians, & reinvigorated Anurian military forces as news that they had an ally coming to their aid spread far & wide. Militia & guerrilla forces began to spring up across the planet aiming to holdout long enough to receive aid further hampering opposing forces.
This reprieve was short lived as the response from opposing factions was swift as it was merciless this was the start of the Arkadian forces getting their asses handed to them, the fighting that erupted was extreme the more rural militia & guerrilla groups that had popped up had been swept aside just as quickly as they had appeared. concentrated efforts where made against Arkadian forces as combined infantry & armored units hammered into them, The Arkadian forces despite the severity of the fighting fought tooth & nail to holdout allowing fleeing refugees to gain distance before Arkadians falling back. Their efforts where costly but successful the larger refugee groups gained considerable distance from the front lines allowing the Arkadians to rapidly fallback causing the pursuing enemies to overreach which both thinned their forces & strained their supply lines, combined with numerous traps, hit & run ambushes, & coordinated strikes on forward positions set up by the fleeing Arkadians who where only too happy to repay their enemies for the losses they suffered up to this point.
Fighting on one front is an issue on its own, but fighting against multiple factions on many fronts is another, the Arkadians fall-back strategy was shattered by this, as a critical crossroads town connected to various key city's (where Arkadian forces had moved to secure) was overrun on two sides the two opposing factions after routing the Arkadian rear guard (and a sizable portion of refugees) clashed with each other over the town while effectively fracturing the Arkadian expeditionary force what was left of the rear guard reformed some of the main body, separated stragglers & Anurian military/militias and continued fleeing northwards with the refugees.
Two parts of what made up the main body of their force had gotten separated east & west of the town both groups too under-strength to try breaking through the clashing forces in the town to linkup with the northern force they instead opted to go evasive & headed towards the respectively nearest city's (Kol'Kida & Kol'Kora) to linkup with friendly holding forces present within them. What was the vanguard of the Arkadian force responsible for the earlier ambushes & hit and run tactics were separated further still from the split body forces and where still slowly being pursued with conflict at their backs the vanguard contingent followed suit & went evasive disengaging the pursuing force then discreetly fleeing towards their only option the Anurian holy city of Kol'Khen, while a light diversionary unit lagging far behind leaving evidence of them fleeing north towards the cross roads town to make their pursuers clash with the other two factions fighting over the area, To great success as the irritated & enraged pursuers charged in wanting to put an end to the guerrilla tactics being used against them instead they barged in & got caught up in a bloody three-way fight while the Arkadian diversionary unit was long gone linking back up with the vanguard at Kol'Khen.
After heavy & costly fighting on the planet, the first part of the Arkadians official main force had finally arrived in orbit general Almond Balbatos after congratulating the efforts of & relieving colonel Rynth Brantyn of operational command assessed the reports & status of their ground forces, overly impressed that they'd managed to survive and hold a presence in key city's, the general announced the retreating northern force was the main priority for the moment as by now the conflict over the crossroad town had settles & the northern fleeing refugees & Arkadian forces where being pursued again. Thus a decisive battle plan was in the works while continuous situation reports & Intel of growing enemy forces planet-side kept piling in.
It wasn't long before the plan was put to work, Operation: Ophelia - named after the Arkadian goddess of destruction, a large scale three-part strategy that ultimately lead to the current continued presence of the Arkadian forces in the conflict.
The first two things decided upon was the retreating mobile northern forces goals & destinations, they where to fallback to another crossroad town on the most north-western part of the central straits and dig-in as they would be reinforced by the newly arrived forces in orbit. The second thing was in part to do with the refugees with them a small escort was to continue leading them north into the arctic northlands to a large mostly (at the time) overlooked expanse where a makeshift civilian spaceport had been established with a small town growing next to it. It was here the general intended to establish a holdout & central base of operations from which to operate all their efforts planet-side, troops, equipment, machinery, engineers, volunteers & aid workers already deploying to the location to begin setting up.
The bloody battle at the north-western crossroads town of Ren'yinda was harsh when the moral driven pursuing forces eventually caught up & ran into the heavily entrenched & (not yet known) reinforced Arkadian forces who in the opening of the battle utterly devastated their pursuers vanguard, and the several following succeeding attacks as well with the same results. It was now something unusual occurred detachments from two other factions got wind of the Arkadians renewed stand in the north & moved to deal with it, likely as vengeance for the earlier unforeseen meat-grinder they got forced into last time. an uneasy cease fire between the units from three different factions was in-place as they jointly assaulted the Arkadians position looking to quickly rout them from the town like the previous one and then likely turn on each other afterwards.
However this was not to be the case, it was many hours into the battle before the combined forces began to push towards the town when abruptly their armor concentrations got smashed to hell from a heavily concentrated and coordinated barrage of air-strikes, artillery fire, & newly appeared medium & heavy Arkadian armor units reinforcing their lines in the town. the news of the action spread across the planet again the seemingly unstoppable invading forces brought to a bloody halt. As such the location became the focus of all on lookers & the three factions committed considerable resources into securing the town of Ren'yinda, the joint Arkadian & Anurian forces showing their true strength & valor once again, the battle over the town by now into the second week which was long exceeding the requirement from the general to allow time for the refugees & the fortified entrenchment of a central operations base in the northlands. While costing their enemies countless resources, life's, time, & keeping their attention from else ware for the most part, the area around & in the town was just a landscape of destruction for as far as the eye could see & the Arkadians still strongly held onto it. This was a huge turning point in the wars opening progress not to mention heavily demoralizing to the assaulting factions, it was widely said that the Arkadian goddess of destruction Ophelia had descended upon their enemies.

The Extended hold out at Ren'yinda allowed the third part of the operation to succeed very well, Covert supply runs to the major city's of Anuria reconnecting separated forces to the rest of the Arkadians forces, additionally allowing for humanitarian aid organisations/volunteers to move in and provide help & medical care to the indigenous population, also allowing them to ship-in additional munitions, equipment, military consultants, training officers, and other supplies to help re-organize, arm, & resupply the Anurian military, militias, and guerrilla forces for the conflict ahead, In-turn further gaining the admiration, loyalty, & respect of the majority of the Anurian people.
As such the operation was an overwhelming success, the Arkadians have since been holding on to a fairly sizable territory in the northwestern area of the arctic northlands & are dug in holding off other faction forces while supporting & arming the locals across the planet, the conflict has since been a long, constant back & forth battle with little progress for anyone up to current events.

Highly advanced, their relentless pursuit of understanding & science combined with the abundant resources available to them has allowed them to develop dramatically in their little corner of the universe, mixed with early founding 'unification wars' during their imperial age after the mostly peaceful separation from the collapsed union of earth centuries ago. ("war if nothing else is a catalyst to science & evolution") A time which is looked back upon with mixed awe, respect, sadness, & fear as their conscience is haunted by ethics in hindsight but is reasoned with as it being a different time & place before proper laws & value of life was re-established protected by whats grown to become the republic of Arkadia as it stands today, however still remains a hot topic for historians.
Notable Tech:
Their most notable technological achievement would be "Nova" energy which is today used mostly as a highly efficient non-polluting power-source but originally was developed as a WMD of insane proportions essentially the sheer destructive power of a hundred suns packed into a missile, thankfully has never been used in any conflict as its sheer power & abilities are considered too extreme, destructive, & inhuman, violating many of the Arkadians humanitarian-right laws, Eco-system preservation laws, etc... (It was only deployed once during a weapons test in an scarce unpopulated barren system with no indigenous or even any form of biological life, evidently it was a success as the system no longer exists)
A comparatively recent advancement "CBT" which stands for 'Cyclonic Barrier Technology' developed to solve the higher-end limitations of traditional kinetic shields, Traditional Kinetic barriers cannot withstand & block repeated high-level kinetic energy weapon attacks & disruptor torpedoes because kinetic generated fields add mass & eventually stress & break the barrier. The CBT violently slaps aside rather than halting incoming linear force. By rotationally firing their energy field projectors to create rapidly oscillating kinetic barriers instead of static ones, attempting to Shoot through the CBT is like trying to shoot at a target inside a insanely fast spinning ball, however (here's where the genius comes in) the shield can constantly remain up while allowing on-board computer aided fire-control to fire the ships weapons at enemy targets through oscillating "gaps" without dropping its defense. The significant drawbacks to current CBT tech prevent its use on anything smaller than Marauder class battleships, also Its many high-frequency sensors and emitters require frequent maintenance. Additionally if severely damaged the CBT automatically corrects itself to become a fully charged traditional Kinetic shield providing even more damage absorption increasing combat survivability a bit longer, a backup safety feature that makes it most effective during per-longed deadly firefights.
The true power behind the Arkadian republic, Their navy is the strongest most advanced, Largest, best trained, best outfitted, best supplied, Naval force in the known universe, their first, second & last line of defense for the republics planets & territory. Other factions are simply happy knowing the Arkadians are a normally peaceful & defensive people content in their holdings, as any navy (even combined with another factions navy) would be severely hard-pressed trying to fight the full head-on force of the Arkadian fleets, but as said the bulk of their navy is purely a defensive force preventing any harm befalling the republics established protectorates & interests, with little exception such as the small deployment of warships to the "policing action" going on around Anuria.
Titans are the largest ships ever built in the universe most Sporting huge omnidirectional super weapons (MWDs) each capable of destroying whole fleets of battleships in a single shot, the mere presence of a Titan class ship could decide a battle due to their intimidating size and armaments. It is said each Titan classs ship of the Arkadian republic possesses a Nova missile with the exception of the 'Skyborn' a Titan class troop transport ship. Not one Titan ship has ever left Republic controlled space to date, as they play a primary role as a home worlds defensive piece.
Four of these Titans are in existence designated by the Design name: Bounty - All rounded general purpose warship, thick heavy adaptive energized armor plating, Standardized Mk.I CBT shield generator, Kinetic based super-weapon, a wide varying assortment of ship to ship kinetic, lazer, plazma, missile, & torpedo weaponry, EW warfare suites, & a healthy abundance of defensive counter measures.
Design name: Valkyria - A more recent and advanced improved titan class warship said to be able to take on three bounty class titans simultaneously & win without a scratch. houses a superior newly developed Nova engine, Super-thick Nano-adaptive energized armor plating, Prototype Mk.VI CBT shield generator, Thermal-Lazer based "chain-link" super-weapon, Wide varied assortment of ship to ship & ship to ground kinetic, lazer, plazma, missile, & torpedo weaponry, EW warfare suites, defensive counter measures, Small five-fighter sized hangers on both port & aft, and a small drone-bay housing twenty AI controlled drone-ships.
Design name: Skyborn - A titan class Troop transport ship, doubles as warship, & resupply/docking & repair station, possesses one of the most advanced hospital & research labs in the republic, countless cargo-bays, on-board training fields complete with firing ranges with room for mechanized infantry training maneuvers, countless living quarters & barracks, even on-board education centers, etc... Has a standard Mk.1 CBT & just as many armaments & defensive countermeasures (actually more so with additional defensive countermeasures) as the titan class warships with the exception of a super weapon which is replaced with docking clamps/bays for smaller transport ships & a ship to ground dedicated artillery bombardment platform.
This ship is probably the envy of other factions as it would not only be able to ship masses of troops, armor, & equipment to any battle-zone but also provide an insane amount of firepower & localized support to ensure securing successful beachheads & point of operation for any military campaign & protect itself, all without having to return to home systems to collect & bring fresh supplies. A fear many other factions had upon its completion was why it had been built was it to be used to launch a military campaign against them?, however their fears proved to be unwarranted as after its launch the republic still remained within their borders instead the Skyborn has become a highly prestigious military training academy for both naval & ground forces within the republics territory.
Note: However there are rumors leaking out of the republic that the newly crowned empress has put a halt on all new enrollments to the Skyborn academy & that countless supply ships have been making discreet runs between the various Arkadian planets & the Skyborn titan class ship for the past few months.
Simply put capital ships are large vessels often with a heavy assortment of weaponry & defenses often serving key roles within a fleet not just as extra guns in a battle & are typically used as flagships depending on their abilities. Common with any faction in space these were considered the largest ship type in the universe until the republic undertook a massive and costly project resulting in them developing the first titan class starships.
Design: Eva - The Eva capital class ships are very sturdy warships capable of both dishing out & taking massive amounts firepower. these are by far the most common capital ships produced in considerable number adding to the size of the republics navy. while initially slow to construct (admittedly not as slow as titans) the amount that can be made & the time it normally takes is a testament to the republics growth & a show of their industrial power on the galactic stage as the amount of capital ships in their fleet recently numbered in the hundreds. In addition to standard Mk.1 CBT generator, the Eva is heavily armored with nano-adaptive energized armor plating, well rounded assortment of weaponry & defensive countermeasures including an on-board Electronic Warfare suite.
Design: Python - The python is an attack oriented capital warship although it possesses both standard Mk.1 CBT & energized armor plating its defensive strength pales in comparison to the Eva design, The pythons offensive prowess is on scale with the firepower of a titan class ship (super-weapon excluded) only several pythons have been constructed as their role was seen as a necessary 'ace up the sleeve' in a full on fleet engagement but Arkadian naval operandi favors defensive strategies & a good balance of firepower without sacrificing defense.
Note: Three Pythons where constructed & put into service after much debate over the design, the deciding factor was a vote from 7th fleet admiral Pott's who strongly believed having an "Ace" to play in the unlikely event their current fleet setup & tactics became predictable & countered in battle. One of these python design capital ships has been deployed to the "policing action" in Anuria more as a field test to see how well it preforms in action with others in the fleet, however its use in actual battle hasn't been warranted yet as the smaller fleet vessels have thus far been more than enough to hold orbital dominion above their position on the planet & the orbital space station.
Design: Liberty - A capital class combat carrier, originally designed by 'Dr J.M.Liberty' who had left the plans partially unfinished at the time of his passing, The plans where picked up by his protege 'Dr A.Mayfield' who'd added the finishing touches over the course of a decade prior to submitting them before the approval board & getting the go ahead from the head of industry who forwarded it to the high admiral of the fleet who then jointly took it before the senate to put it to a vote and after a further month of debate was given the go ahead. (This was surprisingly fast approval from the senate, however rumors of encouragement from the imperial throne after nearly a month is what is believed to be responsible for the speedy decision however the senate officials got the recognition for it.)
The Liberty is fitted with a standard Mk.1 CBT generator, Heavy nano-adaptive energized armor plating, electronic warfare suite, a heavy abundance of defensive countermeasures, & additional sensor array stations, the ships hull is littered with kinetic & plasma guns and missile bays capable of maintaining a constant barrage & throwing enough flak into their surroundings to deal with any enemy fighters & smaller vessels however unlike other capitals and even most battleships the Liberty lacks the firepower to do any significant damage to ships larger then a cruiser as after all it is a carrier, depending on support ships & its own fighters to deal with larger threats. has countless hanger, drone, & docking bays on its sides, houses a vast assortment of fighter, logistic, & transport craft. The main thing that differs this capital carrier from other carriers aside from the obvious extra ship storage space, is the main hanger with the large docking bay at the front of the ship which is capable of housing a small amount of most cruisers in the republics fleet.
Design: Atlantia - The largest transport ship used by the military and available to the general public or rather civilian industrial/trade companies that can afford them. As such the Atlantia capital ships tend to fly with escorts combined with the fact that they're heavily durable attacking one is no easy feat, primarily used for transporting supplies & equipment in massive volumes to where its needed they are capable of clamping or docking to other ships to transport supplies or fuel while in flight, while also being able to detach/retrieve equipment & supplies in drop-pod "elevators" (simply put) from orbit to ground-side without having to actually attempt landing, although afterburner positioning, drift compensation & planetary rotation takes some considerable time to calculate and stabilize prior to drop-pod elevator usage. A popular runaround & time saver is imaginative use of the detachable salvage & rescue pod to grab the detachable shipment from ships rigging & make flying runs back & forth from the landing zone or spaceport or similarly using other smaller transport class ships to ferry goods in same fashion from orbit.
The Marauder class battleship is a superior souped-up version of standard battleship design, hosing newly "scaled down" developed Nova engines allowing Superior power distribution to ship design capabilities in turn allowing marauder class battleships to possess superior abilities than basic battleship variants.
Design: Thunder - The Thunder design is a re-worked version of the lightning design battleship its plans practically receiving a total overhaul resulting in this vastly superior & immensely more intimidating ship. It's new engine has allowed the marauder class battleship to be fitted with a standard Mk.1 CBT generator dramatically increasing its longevity & lethality in combat. Outfitted with considerable firepower superior to the already impressive firepower capable of standard battleships, sensor arrays, Ew warfare suite, Energized adaptive Nano-plating armor, & defensive countermeasures. nearly two hundred of these ships have been constructed and finding a place within the Republics defense fleets, six of these marauder class ships have been dispatched to the on-going Anuria policing-action to great effect.
Battleships make up the bulk and are the powerhouses of any fleet, they are the durable shields & hammers in battle which the rest of the fleet often depend on especially in larger engagements.
Design: Lightning - One of the most produced & popular battleships in service of the republic navy which is reliable in battle & cost-effective to manufacture in mass. Boasting considerable firepower & defensive capabilities this battleship type has proved to be more than a match for others of its class in the universe, fitted with Improved Mk.318 Kinetic Shield generator & heavy energized-armor plating.

Design: Goliath - Not the most common but regularly seen battleships in the republics fleet considerably more bulky than some others of its class but in turn is the most durable able to take more damage than average. It's engines are becoming rather outdated in the already existing versions, the newly manufactured ones receiving more modern engines as a result most current Goliaths in service haven't had their engines refitted yet causing most Goliath class battleships to be considerably sluggish in comparison. Possesses same standardized fittings as the Lightning with only one difference sporting the improved Mk.390 Kinetic shield generator.

Design: Tyrant - The oldest battleship still in service its design and usage dating back to the imperial era during the unification wars & the early founding of the Arkadian republic. The design has been continually refitted & overhauled over the years but is still considered the strongest battleship in the republic navy & most expensive to build, many battleship designs have come forward in attempts to outshine the Tyrant design but each has been found lacking as tweaks to the existing design only go to improve it further, it is no doubt a highly adaptive & versatile battleship with impressive heavy firepower just falling short of a marauder class's & durability almost on par with the Goliath design. It has survived many propositions to be put out to pasture & for the design to be renamed, but still stands strong as a favorite in the republics navy & to historians.

Medium-sized vessels designed to perform a broad variety of functions such as combat, logistics, support, & as basic transports. Cruisers are larger and slower than frigates or destroyers but are significantly more durable.
Design: Raptor - Heavily mass-produced & cost-effective design which is the most common cruiser in service, an all purpose combat ship making up the vast bulk of the republics medium sized vessels. Possesses impressive firepower for its size standardly armed with rail-guns some ship captains choose to customize the weapon fittings to their preferences however the raptors fitting limitations prevent anything bigger than a light missile launcher bay to be installed sacrificing turret points to make space, thus it is primarily seen as a gunboat. Has a standard Mk.M-302 kinetic shield generator, & medium nano-armor plating, along with a standardized assortment of defensive countermeasures. Wherever the Arkadian fleet is operating these ships will be there in abundance.
Design: Eagle - A devastating missile cruiser often refereed to as the "Raging Eagle" somewhat costly to manufacture but is heavily mass produced to supplement fleet numbers & make up for the missile shortcomings of the equally numerous Raptor class cruisers. A very durable & hardy vessel which the sheer firepower of it's missile barrages is said to give battleships a really bad day. Additionally it has a separate automated missile control system for smart anti-missile missiles these ships are spaced out within every fleet setup to utilize this additional ability to provide anti-missile protection to the entire fleet they're operating with in, These in addition to the already extreme defenses of Arkadian ships which is a nuisance on it's own such as the heavy adaptive armor plate fittings, advance shield tech, & electronic warfare capabilities of the fleet which messes with enemy targeting & range finding of their weapons or worse... Its easy to see & understand how formidable the Arkadian fleet truly is.
The Eagle carries an assortment of missile launchers & missile types forgoing any turret hard points entirely, Sporting a standard Mk.M-302 kinetic shield generator, & medium nano-armor plating, along with automated finding & tracking anti-missile defensive countermeasures. Wherever the Arkadian fleet is operating these ships will be there in abundance.
Design: Shrike - Another common ship in republic fleets but often less in number than the Eagle or Raptor Cruisers, these Shrike design ships are very lightly armed though they boast the same tough defenses of other cruisers instead these ships are electronic warfare specialists, additionally fitted with countless scanners, sensor boosters, etc... these ships help aid communications, range, boosting allied ship targeting computers, electronic countermeasures against enemy Ew attempts on the fleet. The other valued ability these ships provide is data-collection & analysation of enemy ships routing out their abilities & weaknesses and relaying the data to the rest of the fleet. All to often these ships aren't seen as much of a threat and are overlooked allowing them to do their job even more effectively.
Design: Hammer - A Carrier in the republics fleet is fitted with a standard Mk.M-302 kinetic shield generator, Medium nano-adaptive energized armor plating, electronic warfare suite, a sizable abundance of defensive countermeasures, & additional sensor array stations, the ships hull is littered with kinetic & plasma guns and missile bays capable of maintaining a constant barrage & throwing alot of flak into their surroundings to deal with any enemy vessels. lacks the firepower to do any significant damage to ships larger then others of its class as after all it is a carrier, it depends on support ships & its own fighters to deal with most threats, has two large hangers on its port & aft which houses loads of, drones, fighters, logistic, & transport craft.
Design: Herald - A very popular transport ship used by both civil & military branches, these are a very common sight around the republics space & their interests. Note: Many foreign trade companies lobbying in a joint attempt to request the Arkadian senate for the release of the ships design so they can manufacture their own, thus far the talks have been tied up in debate for the better part of a year.
Designed specifically for anti-frigate warfare, destroyers typically utilize light and accurate weapons that are designed to target fast, small targets. Although Destroyers excel at their intended purpose of engaging frigates, they fare very poorly against cruisers and battleships, as their armor and shielding simply does not provide enough protection to survive engagements with larger ships.
Design: Hydra - Again fitting the bill of being both effective in the field & cost-effective to manufacture the Hydra is a popular ship within the republics fleet. It's name comes from the sheer amount of gun turrets & light missile launchers attached to its hull which allow it to strike at multiple fast targets simultaneously, in practice maneuvers & field-testing many frigate pilots found despite managing to knockout several of its weapons its firepower & lethality remained more than enough to finish off the surviving frigate wings trying to take it on in the tests "one head continuing to attack after the other was cut off" thus was aptly named the Hydra & put into mass production to supplement the fleet, possesses a wide variety of weaponry & respectable defenses more than capable of dealing with other destroyers & frigates in a battle.
Design: Tlai - An older outdated destroyer unlike many of its kind this vessel has not been completely put out of service but are rapidly decreasing in number, one is sent to the scrap heap for every newly manufactured hydra made to replace it, however due to the sheer number of them its a slow process to completely overhaul the whole navy to the newer more reliable destroyer version.
A category of ship consisting of light and fast ships, rookie pilots typically begin flying ships of this class. Frigates lack the durability and damage output of the larger ship classes but are also considerably faster and harder to hit. frigates are cheep & fast to manufacture in large numbers, frigates can be quite dangerous to larger ship classes when in reasonable numbers to ensure fleet safety opposing frigate & destroyer classes are the practical choices to deal with frigates & prevent them gaining sufficient numbers to cause said damage to larger ship classes.
Design: Sparrow - The most common, mass-produced frigates within the republic navy. It's fast, agile, & sturdy, for a frigate it possesses impressive armor & firepower, however lacks missile capabilities. Has a standardized light kinetic shield to provide that little bit extra defense.
Design: Typhoon - Another common, mass-made heavy-frigate in the republics navy however the sparrow outnumbers them in a 3:1 ratio. The Typhoon is a heavy frigate with multiple missile launchers & guns capable of firing off a devastating payloads onto its targets, also comes with a standard light kinetic shield. The Typhoon (after some adjustments) is also utilized planet-side as heavy air support capable of providing anti-armor, missile barrages & strafing runs as needed to the ground-forces.

It should also be noted Typhoon air support is only sanctioned by command when deemed necessary, more often seem in large important operations rather than basic skirmishes or small scale battles.

The Arkadian republics planetary air force (much like the republics space-based Naval forces), prides itself on air superiority, adaptability, speed, precision, & no shortage of courage from its pilots & crew members.
The V-tol Enforcer is the republics most utilized form of air support for their ground forces always in use in any/every area of conflict regardless of the scale of the engagement. A light recon gunship capable of laying down or providing deadly, & accurate anti-infantry firepower, Mostly used for scouting, patrol, immediate on-site strafing runs, or overhead (hover mode) fire support for ground infantry against hostile forces. Enforcers are fitted with a half dozen nose-mounted rockets and a standard light kinetic shield to help makeup for its considerably light armor without sacrificing its speed & mobility, however combat experience shows despite the additional shielding the most notable weakness of the Enforcer is its rotative thrusters which if hit can often prove fatal for the craft, which is why Enforcer pilots try to make the most of its speed & maneuverability & what little countermeasures they have installed. The Maya medium fighter is another of the republics most utilized form of air support for their ground forces always in use in every & all areas of conflict, Are used much in the same way as Enforcers however rather than providing constant overhead support Maya wings (between 3-5 craft often accompanied by Enforcers) fly a slight distance behind a dedicated section of the line (per wing) & called forward by ground forces to provide heavier strafing or bombardment runs on indicated locations superior to Enforcer capabilities, often used to deal with enemy armor or fortifications. Is fitted with duel cannons equivalent to the Enforcer, supplemented with two dedicated rocket-pods on its wingtips, missile launchers under wing, & twin-linked plasma cannons on the nose, along with a standard kinetic shield. Note: Named after its original designer/first test pilot 'Maya "Kitti" Rhetts' a rather eccentric, over energetic, combat pilot who was renowned for being fearless, later on in life she turned out to be a very gifted engineer and was quickly headhunted by a dozen ship & vehicle manufacturing companies trying to recruit her after she'd served her enlistment time with the military. To the dismay of the companies looking to recruit her as an engineer Maya Rhetts after half a years break re-enlisted for a six-year service contract where she designed & submitted the plans for the Maya medium fighter craft.

The "Owl" was a temporary "patent" file name for this prototype planetary fighter, a mix up in registration paperwork has made the name stick to the design plans along with the word "prototype" despite the fighter being long adopted by the military as it fulfills multiple "fast-mover" roles as anti-air, strafing, & bombing runs with its massive assortment of armaments & abilities and has proven to be deadly for most enemy air vehicles of its type. The Owl "prototype" commonly referred to as "proto" is called from the rear, speeds to hit its target from afar & just as quickly vacates the area to return to station or refuel/rearm. Its ability to deliver a bombing payload of incendiary & plasma bombs to carpet an area has caused a rather heated debate as incendiary bombs are bad enough inflecting horrors on organic life the plasma variants are even more frowned upon as the any materials/metals in the "carpeted area" of a plasma bomb fuses & or melts on or into its carriers/occupants causing horrific images of twisted & fused victims, not to mention the permanent damage to the immediate area and any hopes of future Eco-recovery.
Notes: The Owl prototype is mostly used for area defense & in large dedicated operations, also to be noted their usage in urban combat zones is strictly prohibited and has to be authorized by command in extreme circumstances, as the republics senate has proclaimed that large-scale unnecessary destruction to the indigenous peoples property (towns/citys) is prohibited by law due to it being a policing action to aid them & not a military invasion. Additionally: Plasma bombs tend only to be authorized usage against massed walker/combat suits & infantry forcing enemies to either keep said units spread in small numbers or rapidly moving to overrun republic positions before the Owl's arrive to deliver the payload on-top of them, a costly act on its own without having to add a death-threat time limit.
The Stormbird is the basic troop transport used by the republic ground forces to rapidly deploy/extract troops, vehicles & equipment to areas of operation. Armored & agile it can take a fair amount of fire while being able to keep pace with Enforcers more or less, also it sports a chain-auto cannon on its nose to provide some firepower, The Stormbird also has a standard kinetic shield installed to add to its durability & provide additional protection to its cargo.
The StormHawk is a reworked version of the Stormbird a troop transport used by the republic ground forces to rapidly deploy/extract troops, vehicles & equipment to areas of operation. They removed the front cannon, adding heavy adaptive energized nano-plating, a wide assortment of defensive countermeasures, & a special Mk.12 stealth generator, which makes the transport extremely hard to track or even notice on most machinery, & has a built-in specialized kinetic shield. It's able to take considerably more punishment than other aircraft however is a very costly vehicle to manufacture, is primarily used by special forces for deployments, critical missions, ViP's, & humanitarian aid volunteers.
The Arkadian Republics Highly trained ground military taught to hold honor & duty above everything, They are dedicated & fervently loyal to the republic fighting to safeguard its borders from all aggressors and to protect their peoples freedom. The Military arm of the republic favors balanced, Well equipped, well trained, adaptable, ranged combat, & tactical units capable of operating alone or in unison with other units as deemed necessary. Strongly disliking wasteful conscripted massed number tactics, & chemical/biological warfare methods.
The Arkadian Standard Infantry is well equipped, well trained, and well armed with a wide variety of weapons to suit multiple purposes, but standard amongst every infantryman is the gauss rifle, light/medium armor combat suit with auto-adjusting environmental controls, grenades, combat knife, & basic pack to carry enough supplies for an individual trooper to survive & operate alone in the field for up to two-weeks with rationing.
The Arkadian infantry are widely diverse and elaborately structured as each squad or even teams of two will have various specialists spread throughout their ranks everything from medics & sappers to sniper teams & engineers. they are truly general all-purpose infantry.
Generally identical to standard infantry & operate in same squads as them, only differences being heavy infantry are equiped with heavy armor combat suits and tend to carry bulkier heavy weapons with superior firepower than standard weaponry.
The Arkadian Special forces are the true elite their army has to offer, often operating alone or in very small groups these troops are the bane of opposing factions armies, the Arkadian special forces are hardened veterans who's jobs more often than not seem to be to achieve the impossible. Insanely well equipped for anything & everything they get to play with all the latest gadgets & gizmos the Arkadian military has to offer.
These troops handle all the republics wet-work, black-ops, mission critical objectives throughout the universe.

Headquarters A Heavily fortified & dug in military base / spaceport in the north-western are of the arctic northlands, the Arkadian forced having been forced back in the wars opening fell back & held their position using the terrain & weather to their advantage prior to securing their position, the underground has essentially evolved into a massive base & city housing many of the fleeing refugees seeking their protection from the chaos & is quickly becoming know as one of the largest & one if not the only city on the planet not damaged by the war. (Bare-bones - to be ironed out)
