I iz awake.

Good morning.
Brovo said As for bronies and furries, my general opinion is "I don't really care", and people that do, are the definition of the "first world problems" generation.

I believe this would apply to both the vocal "oppressed" few and the folks who go out of their way to piss on people simply because they happened to be furries or bronies.

If you're going to constantly whine about how THE UNBEARABLE FURSECUTION is comparable to the Holocaust, or if you're going to tell me to GTFO and back into the yiff box, then you need to pull out whatever size of pecker you've got lodged up your hole and take a hike.

Furr-ception?

Why not.
Dervish said Yeah, I think you pretty much hit the nail on the head. People who feel socially outcasted tend to empower themselves with stuff that's not socially normal and then get really loud and obnoxious about throwing it in people's faces to show how different and independent they are and blah blah blah.In that sense, the deviant furries are like the goth kids who pretend they're vampires or the militant atheist neckbeards.I feel like we're writing a thesis on social studies.

Seconded. As a furry myself, I feel like the least weirdest weirdo in a sea of even bigger weirdos, if that makes any sense. A bit of a self-esteem booster knowing that multiple people have bested me in being quirky as fuck, but the stigma around being a furry based on that vocal minority is still there. Hell, it's really hard for me to talk about being a furry, even with other furries.

I can accept this.

Pick a place on the map, and PM me its number.

Yeah, I think a lot of the stigma comes from people who kind of make a lifestyle around it or something like that. Plus, the porn.

That, and a sadly large portion of the fandom is hopelessly stupid and aggravating.

Yeah, that's one of those weird, awkward things. I got into roleplaying on a Star Fox forum way back in 2001, way before I even knew furries were a thing, so I didn't think anything of making an anthropomorphic character any more so than I would like an alien in Mass Effect. Now, after being on the internet for so long, it's kind of one of those things where if I were to join a roleplay that involved an anthro setting like Star Fox, it would probably be accused with a billion accusations of being a furry or whatever. Not really into that, but I don't mind or care that people are. Considering all the weird shit on the internet, there are far, far weirder things than somebody claiming to be a furry.

Exactly.

Besides, I'm more interested in furry characters being CHARACTERS, not meaty fuckpuppets or lit up with more garish colors than the 1980s, like most furry characters are unfortunately.

At this point, it's really not a matter of whether your characters are humans or elves or furries or ponies or hedgehogs. To me, it's about how the character's portrayed, not what they are.
