> You could call the fifth element Aether. That's what it normally gets called, I think. I'll try taking that one. Does have a much nicer ring to it than 'light' doesn't it? Hahaha, always glad to add a new word to my vocabulary. ^.^ Aether is yours.
> If you are still taking than Id like to take a crack at this, get back into the whole "RP" groove if you catch my drift. Love the sig, can't stop watching it. XD Well, all spots for one of the 5 are currently filled but I think I've found a role for you if you choose to accept. I figured the group would need someone from the village (or outside) to help them along their way as they learn how to use their more powerful magic. A warrior of sorts if you know what I mean. That would be available to you if you'd like. :) > I'm picking water! Then as of this moment, the wonders of water belong to you. Still pulling together my information for this RP, unfortunately what I had previously has been scattered about my computer and is now in need of finding. I'm so unorganized. -sigh-
I'm so happy people are interested. ^.^ Well, that's four so I'll set up the thread as soon as I can reach a computer. In the meantime if you know which element you want, feel free to give a shout. I'll give more information on them so you can make a final decision before you create your character sheets. Hopefully I can get the thread up sometime tonight... If not it might not make it up until Friday due to school.
_The mysterious girl's bare feet pounded against the frozen ground, her breath escaping in miniature clouds. Somewhere, a short distance behind her, a terrible shriek broke the silence of the slumbering night. Her eyes widened with fear, forcing herself to run even faster than she ever had before, crashing through the underbrush of the forest in an attempt to escape the beasts that hunted her. A slight warmth enveloped the girl's neck, her eyes darting down long enough to see that the amulet she wore was beginning to glow. It wouldn't be long before she reached her destination, she just had to push on just a little farther._ _A single tear rolled down the girl's cheek as a green mist began to envelop the black stone, a signal that her time had come to a close. With one final burst of speed, the girl stumbled into a wide clearing, turning to face the dangers she had been fleeing only a moment before. Almost as if time slowed down, the girl looked down at the stone whose mist had started to swirl around her entire body, gently wrapping her fingers around it. "You've lost." She called out to the phantom beasts, watching as they pushed toward her with their outstretched claws. "ÉVEILLER!" The banshees' screams filled the air as their target was encased in a giant black crystal, its magic destroying the creatures who were too close when it was activated. Having thought the girl was destroyed along with the banshees, the remaining beasts retreated to the shadows they called home to await the appearance of the next prey._ _Since then, the crystal had stood as a monument, reminding the common people the evils of magic's ancient uses; a warning to take great care thus one be consumed. Many years in the future, five gifted children were born on the same day, the first to carry magic since the mysterious girl disappeared. Those children were told that their mission was to one day destroy the towering crystal, which had become the center of vicious rumors. For much of their early years, the children studied hard to learn what their gifts were, determined to make their parents proud. That mission, however, was abandoned when a great disaster shook the land. The village had been completely destroyed by things out of their control, forcing the people to flee toward the crystal. It was discovered that those who stood near it began to heal much faster than any ordinary being. Some even claimed to see the figure of a mysterious young girl within the black stone, sleeping deep within the rock. Ever since, those kids have had a new job: Unlock the secrets of the stone._ --- Back in the day when I first started roleplaying, this was one of my first ideas for a group RP. Having been craving a Magical Kids RP lately, I decided I'd polish it up and see if anyone was interested. Above is just a bit of general 'backstory' on the crystal in question, the five kids being the characters you would play. "Present Day" would be on the kids' 17th Birthday, the day they receive their magical items and their lives change stereotype. All kids would share certain abilities such as: telekinesis, sturdier bodies, heal faster than normal humans as well as minor magic 'tricks'... Early into the story they would then discover that they have 'specialties' which will be gotten into if enough interest arises. By the way, the stone is just the tip of the iceberg, something that sets the world into motion. The overall story would be good vs. evil type thing. Defeat the monsters, put an end to suffering sort of thing. Original, I know. XD Any takers? I would say I need at 3 people other than myself to show interest for me to make an official thread. There only enough slots for 5 other people(still excluding myself), however if there turn out to be a lot of people interested... After the first 5 slots are filled, I can work other characters into the plot. The aforementioned specialties have to do with certain elements: Earth, Water, Fire and Air. The fifth is less an element but I've included Light/positive energy in as one of the choices. Any questions/takers?
Well! Oh, I thought we were just adding different punctuation at the end of 'well'. XP Sorry, jokes aside... What should we do?
Hope I wasn't overstepping my bounds, Chad... I felt a little left out of the overall excitement. XD
Silv chimed happily as Kite patted her head. "Dari, huh? That's a first." Jade mumbled to herself as the guy went to address his rowdy pokemon. She eyed the Skarmory carefully, wondering why such a pokemon was allowed out of sight with the cooperation of a wild pokemon. "Picking fights with whoever is around hmm? I should put you two away to keep you safe." Mia and Blake shot Jade saddened looks but they didn't protest as she returned them to their pokeballs, and tucked them away into her bag. Just as Jade decided to approach the battle as a bystander, the Skarmory took a dive into the water. With a look of concern she bolted to the railing, looking over trying to see through the waves. Much to her relief the Skarmory pushed its way out of the water and onto the boat, leaving the Riolu behind. "Silv, can you reach it?" Sensing the affirmation from her companion, Jade gripped the railing and hopped over, hanging down by one arm. Without need for instruction, Silv wound her way down Jade's body and slipped into the water. As gently as she could, without crushing the pokemon, Silv wrapped the back end of her body around the Riolu and pushed through the waves toward Jade. As her pokemon returned, Jade lowered her bag as close to the water as she could reach so that the Dratini could climb back up with her. Taking the hint, Silv used the bag as a starting point, climbing the bag before wrapping the other half of her body around Jade's waist. It had been a little while since she got involved in something like this, but the thought of a pokemon in danger scared her more than anything. With a quiet grunt, Jade latched onto the railing with her other hand, using both arms to heave herself back up to a sitting position on the railing. Switiching her gaze between the Skarmory and the "Riolu", Jade sighed with relief. "Are both of you alright?"
"Swablu is a gentle pokemon, obliteration isn't exactly in the cards for it yet. Until it evolves you should take a more careful approach, let it float on the air currents to conserve energy and only strike when an opening arises. It draws out the battle a little, but humans are known to grow impatient and make mistakes. Even the most outmatched pokemon has a chance of winning if you know how to direct it." Jade hugged the Trapinch closer to her chest, the shivering seeming to stop by the time she finished talking. She nodded her head in the direction of a second brewing battle. "People are just getting antsy. It's been a long trip, I'm surprised they didn't start up a few hours ago." Silv nudged the side of her trainer's head, cooing as she pointed her nose in Kite's direction. "Sorry, sorry. It must have slipped my mind." She patted the top of the Dratini's head before extending her hand out to the other trainer. "Seems I have forgotten to introduce myself. I'm Jadaria Brookes, Pokemon Ranger."
Jade stepped around the aforementioned chairs, guiding Mochi until they had left the dining room into a more open space. By this point her eyes had adjusted completely to the dark, figures becoming more and more clear as time went on. She couldn't see perfectly in the dark, but she could now see enough to move around safely. "Thanks for the warning." Jade smiled knowing that it couldn't be seen but hoping the super rabbit ears could hear it. "You doing alright?"

> WeepingLiberty, did you click the edit button, or did you use backspace (or equivalent) to go back? > > That system with helpful errors looks wonderful... > hmm... just got an idea... would it be possible to program it to so that uncooperative BBcodes (i.e. ones not written correctly) are marked out somehow? Say a shiny red (or some other color)? (in the submitted/previewed post? Yes, I clicked the edit button on a posted response, made my changes and then clicked the save button. I then remembered that I forgot something so I clicked the edit button again, only to have the previous edit disappear on me when I did so. I originally thought that it might just have been that I clicked it without refreshing the page or leaving and coming back... However a little bit ago I returned just to test it... Every time I hit the edit button on a post I've already edited, my changes from before are erased. I have no idea why.
