Personality: Farihn'ak is a jovial old man, and despite his age and extensive traveling, he remains curious and ever studious of the world around him. He can be prone to distraction when it comes to new things, especially if it is related to magic but for the most part focuses on the task ahead of him. due to his background as a merchant he is a staunch haggler when it comes to trading and will try and get the best deal possible, be it with coin or any other manner of goods. Outwardly and at first glance Frank appears as somewhat strange, he's constantly attempting to learn or create new ways to utilize magic and often has himself coated in ground herbs and salves or powdered mana conducting ores in strange patters all over his body and often give him an earthy smell to accompany his kind, old personality.
Bio: Frank was born into a family of merchants and from the time he was old enough to understand the concept of trading he was thrust into the family business. At a young age he traveled far and wide with his parents buying, selling and trading various goods to all manner of cities, villages and everything in-between. One particular time they had stopped at a small village on the outskirts of a swamp wherein lived a tribe of shamans who greatly interested young Frank. Their ways in magic combined the knowledge of the arcane with the faith of strange divine beings. One days as Frank wandered the swamps to watch them perform their practice, he was approached by one of the younger shamans, and after much convincing and offering goods from his parents supply, the shaman agreed to teach him about their ways. Every night for a week Frank would sneak out and train under the shaman, and at the end of it he found the life in the pursuit of knowledge to be much more rewarding than mercantile.
While traveling, Frank would attempt to learn from whomever he could about magic, or find books to read, anything and everything he could do. At the age of eighteen, while he and his parents were staying in a castle town selling their wares, he left a note to his parents explaining his craving for magical knowledge and wanting to leave the mercantile life behind him. Knowing they wouldn't understand and would fight him every step of the way, he left the note and then left the town, with little more than the gold he had earned and supplies to trade and use on his journey. For thirty years he traveled, going to places far and wide on rumors of people teaching strange forms of magic, he learned the basics and the not-so-basics, he always only carried what he needed with him, but always had a large book filled with all of his writings from various places some in different languages, a few were just symbols and hastily written instructions. Most of the magic he sought out to learn was for the benefit of others, he rarely was interested in magic to cause direct harm.
At the end of his great journey with he book nearly full of magic from the far reaches of the land he decided to settle down, he loved to travel but it was time to slow down. He settled in a small city and after some time managed to open a small shop, selling various goods from his travels that e could recreate, such as potions and a few weakly enchanted items. He's had the shop for a little over a decade now, he often can be found experimenting with the various magics in his book he has yet to fully decipher or understand he still occasionally yearns for the life of travel so much has changed since he has settled down, he feels as though he will continue to practice magic until the day he dies. For now however, he manages his shop and lends a helping hand here and there when needed. He contemplates his life had he not left his parents, he wonders if they ever came in search of him and if they are even alive.
