Dealing with broken and fractured bones is part of my job description, I mostly deal with foot and ankle injuries. Breaking my foot was the reason I didn't join the Marine Corps, but glad I didn't now that I chose my job.

Ouch. How did you break your foot? Also, are you like in orthopedics or podiatry?

Yeah. My ankle is actually aware of what is going on and hurts itself when it doesn't want to do things. Emo ankle. I'm a black belt. I don't like those flashy kicks, and I mostly rely on those spinning kicks in sparring/competition. My style of TKD is more suited for competition, so no tornado kicks or high jump kicks.

More fundamental than flash. Those are my favorite type of fighters to watch. People look for brawls, but I'll watch technical chess matches anyday.

I used to wrestle, but my ankle forced me to retire early :(For some reason though, I'm able to do both Tae Kwon Doe and Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu just fine, even though both of those martial arts put my ankles under a lot of stress. Track really does help with cardio, even more if you're a long distance type.

That is pretty weird. It's like your ankle selects what kind of sports it wants to do haha. My ankle used to act up like that a couple months after the fracture healed. I'd do 3-4 miles of roadwork in the morning, then hit the gym after class for four rounds each of sparring, heavybag, mittwork, rope skip and shadowboxing. My ankle? fine. But when I went for a pick up game of bball, I'm limp walking like a pimp with a leg cramp 10 minutes in. So weird.

At one point I used to do Tae Kwon Doe when I was younger,

What belt did you get up to? My cousin was a little badass Tae Kwon Doe master, but he often took it a little too seriously. When he was active, he regularly took intense studio photos where he'd do really high jump kicks and other various moves. I distinctly remember one where he broke a board with a straight kick, and he was looking straight into the camera with murderous eyes. To this day I make fun of him for it and he refuses to show me these pictures that have suddenly "disappeared"

I've got it checked out many times. It's never severe enough to warrant surgery, or intense rehab.

I see. Well in a sense that's good that extreme measures weren't taken. I've always wanted to get into track. Would've helped a lot with my cardio when I got into boxing.

Surprisingly enough, I was laughing along with my mates and tried to walk it off...eventually we had to call an ambulance. Haha!Oh man, that's nasty. I never did longboarding but locking up on a skateboard sucked just as bad. I bet you had a few nice grazes as well from the pavement?Yeah, I'll wait until I have the money first and when I'm able to drive a car. I'm on a motorbike atm so it'd be inconvenient to break my hand again just for cosmetic reasons.

lol you must have a high pain tolerance. Yeah, most of my friends skated, but I never got into it. Bombing hills and steep long roads were my thing. Dangerous as hell, but the payoff was always glorious. Aside from the fracture, raking off most of my leg skin is probably the worst I've had and it wasn't as bad as it sounds. A buddy of mine on the other hand had broken ribs and a punctured lung. I want a motorcycle so bad, but paying for insurance is kinda ridiculous where I live. Have you done any cross country traveling on a bike? That's on my bucket list.

I sure hope I can make it far next time. Next season is my last with my team :(That was for Whiskey, mobile is weird when it comes to quoting.

Have you gotten it checked out yet? Maybe some preventative care can help make sure you get a chance next season.
Hmm well Nadan just sent an invite to everyone to meet at the rutgun drinkwell in Truth Shield, and Teige is already there.
I'm not sure either. Felt like I made a bunch of options open, though I can see how it could be difficult for Sha'Knora to do some of those recreational activities... any way I can help you, please let me know. :)

I broke my arm while I was in the woods by my back yard and tripped over one of those tree roots or whatever it is that sticks out of the ground, had it on for like six months and got it wet while I was on vacation. And also removed the cast with my dad lol.

That sucks! I hope that after you fully healed, you ventured back out into the woods with an axe and gave it some good ol Nallore revenge. Or at least kicked it a few times.

I've repeatedly hurt my ankle for the past few years now. It isn't too bad, but it's always knocked out of important moments. Like recently, I injured my ankle right before I was going to race for a spot in state finals for Track. Fortunately it's held up alright for now, so I'm not worrying as much.

Ah sorry to hear that queen. Especially if you've been training up until that point for it. There will be plenty more opportunities I'm sure.

Man that must've hurt. I fractured my ankle too, years ago. I was attempting to transfer in to a half-pipe from a quarter (BMXing). As I caught air, my left stunt peg hit the side-railing and I had to bail. Ended up landing on the half-pipe with my ankle bent under my weight. That hurt. Haha!

Shit! I think you win because I'm sure that was immediate pain. My situation was kinda similar, except when I went to slide for a turn that was much narrower than I anticipated, a patch of gravel was waiting for me. Locked my board up and sent me flying before I could even bail, and when I tried to land on my feet, didn't realize how fast I was going and basically crumpled my ankle as I tumbled around like a rag doll. I didn't feel it for like a minute or so (probably cause of shock/adrenaline) but it sure as hell hurt when I finally did.

Corrective surgery sounds like the way to go if it bugs you, but it'll make for a nice ice breaker in the mean time.

You're not wrong there, I was scrubbing it for an hour trying to get rid of the dead skin. And I managed to get myself into an altercation a few weeks ago during a night out for a friend's 21st. Long story short: Some 28yo guy started dropping N-bombs to my black friend in a horrible manner. I then proceeded to smack the guy in the face enough times so that my friend had to pull me off him. I didn't realise I'd practically shattered the third metacarpal bone until I went swimming the next day.

Yeah casts suck. I fractured my ankle bombing a steep hill long boarding in high school. The itchiness is what killed me more than anything lol. You're a good friend, but glad the guy didn't reciprocate. At least your middle finger will be a whole lot stronger now haha.
I'm still wrecked from the weekend. Don't wanna go to work!

It's great to see that there's still interest for this :DIn other news, my cast has finally been removed and I've essentially lost one of my knuckles O.o

Must've felt like a huge smelly relief to get that thing off. how did that happen??
Awesome! Will try to get a Nadan post in sometime today or tomorrow.
