Moon base
10:00 am
The moon base was an institute of knowledge and learning. Its steels rooms equipped to nurture and improve the minds of the youths but, now what was once a solid foundation of learning was now a place of war. What was once the best students of humanities time was now converted to soldiers learning the art of war. What was once a learning hall where the best minds battle one another is now a place where general and military leaders plan their military doctrine.
The workshop where the most promising engineers build inventions for the benefit of man is now a factory that produces their machines of war and the communications lab was now used to send out orders and commands to their counterparts on the sieged planet that they used to call their home. The wonder that was built for knowledge was now a place made for war.
Their plans stand through and their minds set the soldiers of the moon musters just behind the massive doors of the massive docks of the moon that connects it back to earth, set to depart and arrived in fort Zeus to drop off supplies and to replace the garrison for some deserved R and R.
“GLORIOUS BROTHERS AND SISTERS OF LEGACY!” A man encased inside a small iron suit with a mask attached to a sizable oxygen container on his back. “IN A FEW MINUTES OUR GUNS WILL START FIRING AT THE ENEMY, OUR JOB IS TO SWEEP IN AND GIVE AID TO OUR BROTHER DOWN ON THE PARTNER!” He continues with a visible eagerness in his voice. “WE WOULD BE ARRIEVING AT FORT ZEUS BECAUSE OUR BOYS HAVE SECURED THE FUEL, AND SUPPLIES HERE.” He adds as the room starts flashing red as the computer announces of the hangar door opening.
“OUR JOB IS GRAB SUPPLIES AND ANYTHING OR ANYONE OF INTEREST.” He finishes as the men gets ready eager to set foot back to their home world. Forming a line as they start embarking onto the massive ship.
On orbit
Three satellites flowing in orbit starts aligning themselves to key targets like Frankfurt, Antwerp, Berlin, Stockholm, Cologne, and Amsterdam. On earth lobo forces have retreated and disengages and started all full retreat, a major victory for the republic forces with the help of the Russians.
For the Russians, they wouldn't seem much about the Lobos of Spain - seeing them as another marauder band operating out of their respective nation or what remained of it. As it is, currently most of them were either focusing on the Berlin Gate or had swung around and decided to head towards the French Gate - that had both a Legacy HQ and where the Republic Armies had been kept at bay for months now.
As it was, the Eastern Europeans were most eager to show the West how the 'proper' way of fighting attrition wars were performed - such was the notion, that nobody on the ground expected something to happen especially coming straight from the skies.
As the lobos have distanced themselves from the nation of the German republic. They soon stopped and started to regroup. Out from the eyes of the Germans that celebrated their so called victory, they ready their soldiers. Supply trucks made their ways carrying weapons both proven and prototypes, one of these were the new and experimental weapons of mechanized walkers.
These vehicles had four massive legs made to easily navigate through where most vehicles can’t. With only one pilot they are used to transverse and carry troops throughout hard to uneven terrain. With two arms they carry two types of weapons, one made to piece through armor and one to tackle huge waves of troopers. Soon, a masked man climbed on board one of the mechs. “WE ARE THE DESTINED RULERS OF THE WORLD.” He announced with pride.
“DOWN WITH THE CORRUPT OFFICIALS OF THE OLD WORLD, WE MUST PURGE THESE RELICS OF TAINT AND IGNORANCE!” He raises his hand forming a fist. “WE ARE THE NEW BEGINNING, OUR WAY RIGHTOUS, WE WILL PURGE THEM AND WE WILL BRING ABOUT A NEW AGE.” He continues with the same tone and pride.
“AND AFTER WE SECURE THE OLD WORLD WE WILL TAKE THE FIGHT TO THE INVADERS, AND WE WILL TAKE THEIR WORLD!” He ends as his followers erupted with a battle eager roar. Now that morale is high and the troops eager, they wait for the promise gift from the moon
Above orbit
The satellites were in position and with an orchestrated press, each of the seven released one onto several parts of the world. Most of them landed onto Europe were the other two landed onto Asia. Then after that they launched another volley before stopping a combination of 14 rounds hit the earth. And after the shots the shuttles finally gotten past from them, containing a massive invasion force that was destined to land on America.
Back on earth
The rods looked like a meteor shower from the surface. They looked so beautiful from a distance before they hit the ground and like that they were gone from sight. Silvia looked from the barred window from her growing micro nation, she felt uneasy it was beautiful but, they felt unnatural for some reason. As the rods landed the earth cracked, and the earth rippled and the skyscrapers of old toppled.
Minutes later, reports flooded the collapsing German nation and its ally the Russians. The cities of Frankfurt, Antwerp, Berlin, Bern, Cologne, and Amsterdam suffered massive damage and widespread panic was spreading to the civilians and its nearby cities. The firefighters and the police was trying their best to maintain order but, with most of the police and official forces destroyed by the initial strike.
Needless to say, the sight and reports of satellites dropping WMD's upon the planet had prompted Councilor Hackett - the only Russian in the usual leadership of the Eastern European Coalition. He didn't think about the implication, he got on the land-line and ordered an immediate ballistic missile return fire upon Earth' orbiting satellite network. If Legacy thought that holding the satellite network hostage might have prevented counter-fire, they were sadly mistaken. As the former Admiral reasoned, sacrificing the satellites was worth it in exchange for keeping any semblance of leadership alive in Europe. The satellites could be rebuilt, but now if they had nothing left in Europe.
Thus, before Legacy' attack satellites could take aim at their next targets, they suddenly had a dozen ballistic missiles impact into them - namely Cold War Era Satellite Buster Missiles. They didn't hit every satellite in orbit, yet it was enough to cause a cascading chain-reaction. As the debris was turned into a swarm of shrapnel that shredded the other satellites in orbit. While Hackett might be called-out on such a choice in the future, it was better than letting Legacy try and take their Earth away from them.
As it happened, he also ordered all paratroopers battalions to prepare for deployment into the demolished cities and states - they needed to react quickly or else half of Europe would soon fall into chaos and anarchy. What was worse, this kind of attack might have meant a fall of leadership of the already fractured German Republic. Hackett disliked the implication, but as of the current situation - they were the only remaining power left in Europe and likely after this war, perhaps in the whole of Eurasia and the world.
As it happened in Berlin, some of the EEF soldiers had made a jump into the portal alongside some heavier machinery - having decided to try their luck, than getting pelted by shots from space. The rest of them quickly had made a run away from the giant craters in the city and approaching quake. Needless to say, for those who remained they weren't in the slightest happy on seeing such a sight of senseless destruction. Especially as the Lobos decided then to attack the Alliance' position with a much better grade of weaponry than they had before. Needless to say, many could see the handiwork of Legacy at work, especially the attack from space itself.
For Silvia and her elves, it might have been a scene from mythology itself - namely, they had been transported via some trucks towards the location of the Berlin Gate in the hope, that the elves could offer some way of closing it down or perhaps. Temporarily closing it at least. Their trip had been cut short, when suddenly their entire convoy and truck had been thrown up and then crashed down from the shock-wave that had happened.
They had managed to crawl out, without many hurt - with only some minor scratches to witness the sight of the Rods dropping down from the heaven and splitting the very earth asunder. While such a sight might have caused any other race to flee in terror - the humans had a rather opposite effect. Especially, as Silvia and her group had quickly been transported towards the Berlin Gate only to witness the giant hole and the approaching group of Lobos. Whom seemed to be much better armed and wielding equipment that might even make an orc stop in its track.
Although, the Alliance members reacted much differently. Once the sight of Lobos appeared, something resembling an orc battle-cry was yelled by the humans. What followed was a barrage of gunfire, artillery and tank fire - as the Lobos would find that their juicy prize was still intact. Albeit now, they were facing defenders whom were pumped-up and very angry - so much so, that the Russians and what remained of the German military soon enough approved the deployment of chemical gas against the Lobos. Having been held back before, to be utilized only against the monsters - the Lobos suddenly found their human-card revoked. As they had napalm dropped upon their lines, followed by gas canisters and having the Russian T-100s firing their railguns at their great mechs and tearing the entire cockpit off its legs.
The lobos were ready for the chemical weapons that the combined forces of the two nations were using. As their soldiers quickly put on their masks on as they charged into the battlefield, while their mechs continued on to battle, the men on top laid down fire support while the pilot fired a devastating shot to the enemy. Soon, a special kind of mech entered the fields, it was bulkier than the first ones and had no troops on top of it. It was carrying a flamethrower like weapon but, instead of flames it blasted an intense frost blast into waves of infantry.
Indiscriminately freezing their own and the enemy. Though they were slower than the first ones, they were still able to get into position to fire their weapons. Though these mechs would be lucky to survive a hit from the tanks that the enemy had. “These is shield-1 requesting air support; I repeat requesting air support!” The radioman requested as his mech legs were blown away leaving it incapacitated and unable to function easily.
The pilot was stuck inside knowing that certain death awaits him once he ejects. Now the troopers used the downed mech as cover waiting for air support. The lobos well planned attack was putting a strain in the depleted but, angry people of the republic. Several of the smaller cities and towns have fallen to the lobos. While massive battle for control in key locations was fated to last weeks or months at this rate with no clear victor in mind.
As the last kinetic strike landed into berlin, the gate grew unstable, and like the others attempts in destroying it, distorted only to discharge vaporizing surges of electricity to the surroundings threating to unleash a devastating feedback to the surrounding area. As it forces itself restart. But, the damage was too much for the gate to handle, distorting and cutting them from reinforcement.
The gate was releasing energy, preventing anyone from entering when Silvia’s group got there. Ironically the enemy has gone their jobs for them. But, when the elves see the giant mechs, they were shocked. They didn’t know that the humans can make constructs, especially the elites or the warrior variants. Though unlike theirs these didn’t need a soul to run.
The mech finding the convoy, quickly aimed and fired blasting a sizable hole into one of the vehicles. The weapons team on top also joined in as the machine gunners laid down suppressive fire onto the group. Thankfully the eyes pick up on these as they took cover dragging the other soldiers with them.
“WHAT ARE THESE!?” She asks panicky to one of the soldiers, as the four gunners suppress anyone on their sides. Their lead colliding with concrete, clipping away at their covers. The war machine took another shot arming at the other vehicles of the convoy. To ensure that they wouldn’t be able to escape from them.
Soon enough, Silvia and the others soon saw how easily such fancy technology could be turned about - as several anti-tank rockets were fired at the mechs, both of German and Russian make. As much armored as the mechs were, any infantryman with an RPG could take aim and fire at the legs of the giant things.
In response to the Lobos' usage of cryo-troopers, soon enough they were replied by having actual flame-troopers return fire with blazes of hot fire and napalm. The Russians had brought anything and everything that they thought the Invaders might possess and even some they might not have had. Although in this case, the Invaders were capable of bringing individuals on both land, sea and air - although it was a different situation if they could maintain any sort of dominance at that.
The air-support of the Lobos as that, were soon aimed and fired by mechanized anti-air vehicles, or namely Shilkas from several miles away - with both anti-air missiles and four autocannons that tore apart both organic flesh and mechanical one like paper. As the Lobos got closer, soon enough they received fire from their side. Namely an entire armored battalion had swung around and now was bearing in-hard on their location. Firing both machine gun and main cannon. Namely Silvia and her friends were gazing witness to modern and mechanized warfare where situations developed in namely minutes and seconds.
Those on the ground-level weren't playing around either, as fire was returned upon the ranks of the Lobos. Both regular machine gun spray, rifle fire and sniper fire as well. If the Lobos were expecting to overrun Berlin they'd sadly be mistaken as the only thing they had managed to do was enrage the defenders even further and the longer the fighting went on - more and more reinforcements and equipment was thrown at them, with bloody results for their side.
The mechs falls to the ground exposing the crew on top to the gunshots and arrow fire that the elf and human’s infantrymen. Once the troops on the weapon’s platform was dealt with the human pilot acted dead as he turns off the energy to make it seem like he was dead and to avoid capture or execution.
“What was that?” She asks to one of the Russians with her confused and visibility worried with the overwhelming disaster that she just witness. Soon, firetrucks military or not. Was rushed into berlin as the attack has opened up several systems that the city has lost. The black smoke rages on from the distance, firefighters and civilians work rigorously together to put out the flames.
As the Russians reply in kind the lobos outside of berlin conducted an orderly withdrawal leaving the ones in berlin at the mercy of the Russians. Content with the fact that they have already taken over a number of settlements near the border and with the devastation that the Germans have suffered it had endured will only make everything harder for the two allies. The military structures and fortifications that stood before the rods made contact was now crush and destroyed and most of the buildings have collapse. The glorious city of Berlin was simply gone now rubble and debris was left and its people dead or tired.
The planes that arrived soon, drop down several bombs before going down. Dropping inferno and death to all unfortunately below it. Before being shot down minutes after it has completed its drop around select cities, dropping series of bombs into the cities near the border and beyond. But, a squad of them that was going to berlin was suddenly hit from all sides with series of round that tore apart its wings, and shredding its crew. One of the rounds was able to find its way into the cargo hold and prematurely detonated its load ending the life of the once proud airplane.
For her this isn’t the war that she was used to. Too many things were happening, for them this was surreal. Tactics and speed won them this day, it was completely frightening how they can function and how fast they communicate with one another in the battle field under them which she remembers as full of miscommunications and too slow compared to them. She was frightened at the same time concerned for her people were fighting this race and she hopes she isn’t too late.
As it happened, several members of the both Armed Forces had escaped into the portal - namely better try their luck in the new world of crystals, then be killed by falling space debris. As such, they had an entire Company inside Crysallus - surrounded by crystals of all type and make. Some of the men even pulling off several of them and pocketing them for later. As it happened, they kept their gas masks on in the risk of having the crystal dust invade or hurt their breathing.
Namely they were travelling with a German Leopard, that was crunching crystals under its treads - luckily enough it hadn't gotten stuck or fallen through the place - which seemed very delicate in several places. At the current moment they were wandering aimlessly - hoping to perhaps find another portal, that the egg-heads said might be here. Or namely perhaps get some payback against the Invaders. Their leader, Major Fredrika soon enough called everyone to a halt - having heard something from the opposite of a wall.
As such, they soon got ready and their Leopard soon simply smashed through an entire crystal wall into what looked to be...an Invader settlement. What happened was mostly out of reaction, as orcs charged the humans opened fire and killed some of the 'simple village guards'. Although, when the ghouls charged their ranks they didn't hesitate - as soon enough a flame trooper pulled up its flamethrower burning and searing away the ghouls before they could even reach their ranks. The orc 'shaman' was soon singled out and perhaps received a burst from the tanks machine-gun - taking care of the any remaining ghouls in the area.
Thus, the situation calmed enough for the regular humans to bear witness to a town of various creatures - namely civilians. While those in turn, got to gaze upon the masked World Eaters and their technology that spewed iron and fire at a snap of their fingers.
After the battle the civilians that was out doing their own business quickly duck as the sounds of gun fire and the flames from the flamethrower emerged. The streets were soak in blood as the sentinels was quickly gunned down by the iron monstrosity that came ramming itself from the walls. Quickly the militia and the dwarven encampment that positions themselves on the sides of the mineral rich walls sprint into action as they quickly pointing the deadly end of their massive cannons onto the iron beast below. The ones that didn't manned the cannons quickly grabbed their guns pointing at the hostiles beneath them.
As the shaman fell with most of the settlements guards in one go. What little remains of the small group of orc archers from the top of the walls quickly aimed their bows at the assailants but, didn’t fire, waiting for their orders to fire. Soon, the civilians that was still out in the open quickly flee from the scene, barring and fortifying their doors, as they comfort their families that everything is gonna be alright. Soon, a darkish green orc equipped with black armor, slowly approached the tank from a large structure, walking without a care as he makes his way up to the company’s sight. He was unarmed and unlike the others didn’t rush off to their deaths.
“World eaters…” He says with a visible annoyance in his voice as he looks at its fallen comrades. “I do not tolerate trouble in this town, from my own or to my enemies.” He announces, with the militia surrounding them as they reach out for their pickaxes and tools that they can use as a weapon. The orc commander was angry while he explains, continuing with a stoic look. “This is a neutral settlement, a refugees camp at most, we spend the day drinking, dreaming, and working and at night more drinking then to the comforting embrace of our warm beds.” He explains quite mad at the disturbance they just did towards one of the most traveled street and place in the settlement the market place. “I seek no war today, just a new drinking partners.” He says in what he knows of the English language while gesturing at the bodies.
“World eaters this is your last warning and first job… Clean up this mess.” He demands with the same tone as before. Now pointing upwards with his hand, revealing the dwarven cannons and fortifications that was positioned on the edges of the crystal walls. The gunners aim their weapons towards the tank and its surrounding troops.
What he got in response, was likely expected and unexpected. Namely the World Eaters didn't open fire, yet the one with the flamethrower simply started laughing - followed by several others among their group. Thanks to the covering of their masks it might have sounded more menacing than the humans might have wanted. The one whom replied to him, spoke in the same broken English that the orc did. "Oyh? Pard'n me. Not so tough when your prey can bite back?" asked the man, kicking one corpse of a ghoul before the unarmed orc leader.
"I shall gladly drink on your dead corpse, and the corpses of all you freak. Until your entire lands are burned to ash. Fuck with our lands and our family, you shall receive no mercy. Or if it was lost..." he spoke, pointing his flamethrower at his group. Even the orc would understand, how out-matched he must be - as even if they managed to kill the flame-trooper the World Eaters had plenty of men behind him. With weapons that had torn orcs apart much faster than even elven magic or arrows.
As it was, even more seemed to be move into position and their own iron machine pointed its barrel upward. Easily out-classing the ones that the dwarves had at the tank. The figure almost dared the orc to make a move, to flame his bloodlust even further. Although before it would turn into a bloodbath, the top of the tank opened up and somebody soon climbed down and landed upon the ground. Soon enough the figure in question removed their mask and revealed their appearance.
Needless to say, for those watching - they would see how the World Eater very much resembled a human female. A bit more beautiful at that, yet as human as it was. The female soon enough walked forward, to where the flame-trooper had been standing. They spoke something that the orc wouldn't understand, it got heated enough until the woman called the man a 'fascist'. The man left with a grumble, but not before throwing the insult of freak once more at the orc leader.
"Sir," she spoke, addressing the orc before her and not minding the array of pitchforks pointed at her. "You will forgive my tone and demand - but at this current moment our two people are at war. Our world is being assaulted by your kind, thusly I am sad to say we can't just settle down and pick up a beer." Her tone was a bit more respectful, yet it also carried authority behind it - as she spoke slow enough for the orc to understand.
"As this current moment, your...people has laid siege to countless cities, murdering our civilians and unarmed. What you have done, it has constituted as a war crime..." she spoke, not sure if an orc understood it. "As such, anybody resisting has been designated an enemy combatant. You have been the first kind to seek talk and not simply charge at any of our kind. As such, I have to speak my own offer."
"If you wish for discussing and... peace. Then I am sad to admit, you will have to surrender to our forces. I understand you have to protect your people, well...so do I. I can't sadly accept your offer, since that would my people in danger from both forces outside and inside," she explained. Namely soon gently, poking her foot at the corpse at a dead and burned ghoul. "I am not sure, if you understand or not - but killing unarmed and then desecrating their bodies into...this - is not well liked among many of our soldiers. Many desire vengeance...some might call it justice."
"My offer is simple - lay down your arms, cause no harm to my people - and we can engage in peaceful talk," she spoke to him. Not sure, if an orc could even understand the notion of surrender. "I give you my word, we will not harm anyone - if any of my people do so, I shall punish them personally. That is my offer. If you refuse, then I will sadly have to admit it might get bloody..."
The orc gestures the militia to lay down their arms, and gestures the two to get a few items to start the preparation. "It’s as good of a time to drink." He says as one of the civilians takes two chairs and a small table. "If you have a leader, come here." He requests as he sits down on one of the chairs.
Then a bunny morph that still has human features steps up. Her body covered in fur aside from some parts that she took the liberty to cover up in exotic clothing puts down two small bottle of beer.
"We are ready to surrender." He declares as he takes a knife a slits his arm letting the blood flow into his bottle. He rubs a cloth right onto his wound as he urges the other to sit down and do the same.
The woman in question did so as asked, repeating the process of their strange 'peace agreement'. Afterwards, once that was done - the various creatures, harpies, naga, orcs and other exotic creatures - soon were occupied by the forces of the 'World Eaters' whom seemed all to be human, once the masks came off. There wasn't no other among them, all of them being human. It carried a certain...strange...feeling, seeing people whom upon their world had been on the same level as everybody else. In some areas even below the others - yet here stood 'World Eaters', humans whom had mastered vehicles that laughed at orc strength and mastered technology that even some dwarves were trying to understand.
Although, even they could see that two factions had emerged in the occupying human armies - those called 'Russians' and 'Germans'. Namely the Russians kept their distance from the town and even set up camp near the hole they had created. The Germans were the only ones to interact with the creatures on a... humane level. The first thing they helped and also asked to do was bury or burn the dead. The leader before, had organized a fair trade - namely the shot guards would be buried by the humans. While the ghouls would be buried by the monsters.
Even among the Germans the creatures could see, that the usage of 'ghouls' wasn't a very approving thing. As it was even evident to a naga, that having such creatures was a VERY dividing issue. That situation got into a thing, when one naga and German soldier had started to interact, beyond the words of 'search and line-up'. "Who thought desecrating the dead was a good idea? You wouldn't want us, displaying your dead bodies for your kind to see, would you?" he stated to the strange yet exotic woman.
The rabbit morph was shocked to hear her words or rather can’t feel the same way to be exact. While the orc laughs with her reaction.” Yes…” She says quite awkward as she flees from the scene going back to the safety of the crowd and Without saying a word, the orc passes his bottle to yours and grabs your bottle. Seconds later he consumes the blood fused drink and seeing the female drink the ritual was complete.
He stands up and takes in a deep breath. “THIS WOMAN HAVE BECOME MY SISTER AND WHOEVER FACES OR OPPOSE HER, FEEL MY WRATH, THE WRATH OF THE SWORD EATER CLAN!” He announces in whatever English he knows before switching to an unknown language.
While most seem to accept and move on, there are some that were rather questionable. With some of them sighing and angrily leaving but, everyone respected the ritual and went on to their daily lives. The vendors that felt a while ago reopened and the people still warry have continued on as they started working and continued on with their own livelihoods
Some of them were drying fish, sewing, making weapons and other various activities. The orc warchief and the remainder of the guard was hauling the bodies of the ghouls off in the sides while the soldiers did the same for the fallen guards. It was odd that no one came towards the orc guards suggesting that they original somewhere else, and that they were still new hence no lovers, children and friends came.
After the trouble the orc urges the Germans and the Russians, well those that would want to join in for some drinking that is. Towards a large nearby building. “Drink.” He says in English with an odd orcish accent as he enters it with his men. The building was hastily built and is very well on its way to collapse, on top of it was a big sign written in a very different language.
Inside, were drunk people, man, animal morphs, orcs elves and other various races enjoy and lose themselves while a large strange red humanoid lizard prepares the warchief and his companions their next drink. While there is various waitress with exotic clothing tending to the customers inside, one of which was the bunny morph before.
The encampment was full of activity and full of different races going with their merry ways, children were playing and people going with their daily lives, it was odd no one expected for the orcs to run something that's main priority isn't for invading earth and taking over it.
The naga came with one of the Germans, she humanoid in a sense as there was grills in her neck and flippers in her arms and legs. And instead of skin a clear set of scales covers her body. "Weird indeed, why you wanna feed your enemies?" She asks in a clear sense of confusion in what English she can muster, in response to his question.
The man in question shook his head, as they continued talking - he almost seemed shocked that they were at war, cause some...orc speaker...a namely demagogue. "I can't believe that you people would trust the words of one person. The man in question looked very disappointed in such an answer - so much so, that he pulled out something from his pocket. Namely it looked like a cross made of iron. "This is a medal...it is what we...used to give those whom performed greatly in war," he explained to the naga - while also getting the attention of others. Stories were always welcomed to those, whom had no way of keeping themselves occupied. The notion of an award, might likely ring among some orcs - whom awarded the bravest and strongest with their own awards.
"This is an Iron Cross...belonged to my great-grandfather...from a war that had the blood price of forty million dead," he explained. Likely shocking many with the numbers - as he soon enough continued on. Namely the German in questioned educated the others about the history of their world - or to them, it might sound like a horror story. Yet with the serious tone he spoke, it sounded anything less than that.
Educating about the senseless of World War One - when people followed loud demagogue' or namely Kaisers, Kings and Tsars. The tales of how men and boys were slaughtered by the millions in trenches, by bombs from above or gas that choked the air from their bodies and left to rot behind in lands untouched even now. Then the tales of World War Two, that was just as long yet even more bloodier, as this time civilian were included in the carnage - reaching a dead count of sixty million. In simply forty years, the ancestors of the Germans here and Russians outside had amassed a body count of over a hundred million. Which was followed by a Cold War when both sides possessed weapons capable of destroying their very planet.
"Since then...us German soldiers have been taught. To be beholden to our conscious - not the words of our leaders. It is why, we showed mercy, even though your kind has shown to be merciless against our own," he spoke, looking at the naga with straight eyes. Far from fighting a Glorious War - the Great Orc and his Crusade had simply poked the wrath of a Behemoth of War. Who had been slowly recovering and trying to walk towards peace - and then twenty years later, it was shattered. A behemoth who had armies numbering in the millions and tech to kill millions in a snap.
"It is why; we take the slaughter of civilians and... their bodies used like this with utmost hatred. Since it violates the basic rules of combat and war. Limit casualties among non-combatants," he spoke. "Which your kind has often broken. Hence the Russians being very eager on burning this very town and everybody down within it. Since you people has done the same to thousands of their own kind."
The merry atmosphere of the tavern was broken, with some fixated on his every word. Though some carried on because they couldn’t understand his words, the tone and the stares of the others left a visible imagine in their mouths. The drunk listened visibility and laughed it off as a new plate and a new drink was served to them moments later.
The bunny morphs listen well with some of them listening to his every words, some of them grinning and smiling with every detail of his stories. The warchief sighs not wanting to get involve as he chugs a new drink. But, kept an open ear towards his story.
The humans, orcs, and elves inside had different various reactions, some were eager raising their drinks while most had fear inscribed in their faces. “Interesting.” The naga says clearly interested in his tales and stories. “But what’s a civilian?” The naga asks quite confused treating the phase as nothing more than foreign, which also caught the other patrons off guard.
They sigh in disbelief remembering what she was and not wanting to explain gave up. “But, what about you!?” A human yells in anger. “Kind my ass you, destroy cities and nations.” He says in a butchered version of the English language. “My children who haven’t held a dagger, my newborn who haven’t walked, my daughter that was to be wed.” He says sobbing “I can’t even bury them after what you did.” He retorts.
“WE KNOW YOU HAVE THE CAPABILITIES TO DESTROY THE WORLD, THAT’S WHY WE’RE HERE, WORLDEATER SCUM!” He says as he throws his mug on the floor spilling its contents and marches out of the establishment. Others follows him out disgruntled but, some flown drowning their sorrows in the end. For them they didn’t want to be the right ones, they only wanted the war to end and their lands back to their glory.
The German rose up as well - alongside his other companions, before looking at the naga woman. "A civilian is somebody who doesn't fight, can't fight or is unable to fight. Somebody who is not part of the war for victory in a physical manner," he replied. It seemed the entire atmosphere had turned about and everybody soon understand what was in truth at stake.
"Blame our kind if you wish, but you aren't the only ones whom have watched their children and loved ones killed. War doesn't determine who is right. Only who is left," he replied, before the Germans took their leave - words so poetic, they could only come from a race of people, whom have drowned in so much blood even they have become sick of it.
Needless to say, not many of the regular humans stayed in town, as they didn't want some drunk man or creature wanting some drunk justice enacted upon them. As it was, they returned to Russian camp - where scouts with guns deterred anybody whom wanted to try their luck when they thought nobody was watching. It also gave many of the town people something to think about - this war would only end in two ways. Either they survived or they died - since if the Germans words were true, then the World Eaters had armies far larger than the combined population of Titania even. This war needed to end, before the World Eaters decided to simply eliminate the pest - that had inflicted more trouble than the humans were willing to tolerate. They had the manpower to wipe away the town if they so desired - a clear indication such how out-matched the folk races were.
The tavern had lost quite a few of its patrons due to the tale of the world eater. They knew that what was happening to their world was the doing of those strange humans and the death and the loss of their home world was unforgivable. But, his words were painfully true. For at the rate of what’s happening they won't be the ones left.
She was shocked to have heard of something like that was a thing. "So killing a warrior that doesn't have a weapon bad?" She whispers to herself as she witnesses the man go out of tavern. The warchief and his men after a few rounds of drinking went out of the building and then out of town. His men guarding a small cave that was a distance away from the town.
Along with a few raptor station outside, there was not much that they can see from there. Then on the road, you could see a number of orcs and humans loading a cart full of heavy sacks. The same bartender and his waitresses were onboard as a large hybrid of an elephant with a rhino who started pulling it into the dirt road.
The humans from before then left the camp, with what armor and weapons they could find. It seems they are planning to enlist onto the nearest military camp. While all of this was happening the camp was unofficially split into two, those that wanted to continue the war and those that wanted to end it, what was once best friends were now enemies.
Those that wanted to end the war and prevent further bloodshed prepared and readied a cart full of supplies and equipment towards the world eaters to mend relationships. The convoy was small and noticing that they were new to life in the gate, they offered them something they couldn’t have had in their time inside. A freshly cooked meal, it had meat, vegetables and other various ingredients that looks like they gotten from a farm but, there was no such thing near the settlement.
Their leader was a female orc. She was taller than that of her human’s companions but, smaller compared to those with the other orcs, she had a light green coloration and had a fairly muscular build. You could easily mistake her for a boy if not for her face and visible chests.
They prepared their utensils and mobile cooking stations right outside the gate as they started, grilling, boiling, and marinating the meat. While the others started chopping and peeling the vegetables before adding them to the pots and started mixing strange spices into the mix. The aroma found its way inside the nearby Russian and German camp, the smell of the meal and the sounds of cooking would make anyone hungry or wanting to try a bite.
Then after a while the first batch of the cooking was done. A simple vegetable with a golden color to it. The cook, a human female with red hair put on her gloves before loading the large pot into one of the carts hauling it to the nearest soldiers, weather they were the Russians or the Germans. “Soup? Cup?” She says to the ones that she went up to.
Sadly, they didn’t have any cups or extra bowls to offer as they didn’t have too much support with them.
The Germans were the ones to mostly pick up on the food being cooked in the area. The Russians had mostly settled with their own things, although they did smell the food being cooked - regular potatoes and meat in an actual stew. They had mostly substituted on regular canned and packaged foods for most of their trip. Although they were nonetheless surprised and alerted when suddenly somebody had suddenly appeared before them and namely with a simple peace-offering. Or in this namely an offering of food - while he troops weren't starving for food, they nonetheless didn't chase away this group. Simply kept a more eager eye on them and their cart of supplies brought forward. Which was quickly checked out as well, before allowed to continue.
The woman in question would be surprised, how quickly namely the cups would be produced out - namely faster than any of their armies could manage. The soldiers in question were both armed, outfitted and even equipped. Some were willing to try their food, while others abstained from trying their grub. Needless to say, there were several approvals from the more political minded people of the group. While some others said that the food was good but felt...dull. Lacking salt as some called it.
"Yo. Green girl? How about you try something modern?" asked one, as she was soon presented with some World Eater food - which in all honestly looked like yellow grub and balls of meat inside a can. Although the taste of it was something else - namely mashed potatoes and meatballs might not taste much to a regular soldier of a modern era. But the mixture of salt, and all the delicate details to make the food both long-lasting and very edible might be something different for a person from Titania.
She stands proud as she cooks away. From the looks of it she was preparing to cook something that was meat based but to some unknown animal, something that she oddly looked like she had mastery in. She greets the man with glee as she roasts the mystery meat with hints of unsureness as she greets the man with hello. She was quite confused with what you presented and she though that it was something to put into the meat. So judging in best interest to put it in the roasting meat until the woman from before was able to get in the way from her plans. She spoke in an unknown language but, from the way she was talking it seems like she was telling her that she was supposed to taste.
The orc nods in understanding, as she dips her fingers onto the can and gets a quick taste of the burst of favor that the canned food had. The orc obviously quickly fell in love with the taste of the meal and after quickly falls into a fury of insightful words in her language bows to the man and resumes to her duties with bliss. "Thank, food taste good, want more." The woman says as she in turns gives a small bow before returning to her stations. After a few more minutes the meat was done, some of it had tentacles, what looked like a giant chicken and other different kinds of meat was quickly displayed and served to the soldiers. It had a well and heavenly aroma to it and smelled better than the soup from before. The orc and the others quickly position themselves on the prepared table and bowed urging the others to eat hoping that the others join in.
After this they returned and quickly made their way and pulls a bunch of exotic ingredients which would hint that there was something more or the last round of the tribute was under session.
Eventually enough several other humans joined their little table - with some bringing their own grub and food to the table. Namely the one thing, that many humans seemed to carry with them was alcohol. Or namely something similar to orc spirits. Which the humans seemed to be able to easily drink down, or at least the Russians seemed to be able. To the other races, the clear liquid tasted both bitter and somehow disgusting. Unless one was an orc - although the spirits did put some humans in a better mood than others.
While also possessing the urge to look at some of their kind, or at least the females in a much more different light. Such was the sight of when one human touched an orc female - then that same human was hit by a human female. Which resulted in a makeshift slapping against the groping guy. It seemed, that despite their rather fearsome reputation - the World Eaters seemed rather...meek and average in some portions among them.
As some explained how they hadn't been some fearsome warriors, like for instance - the army before them had before this war jobs in simple civilian prospects. Namely being shopkeepers, cleaners, medics and other such assignments. The indication, that the army that they feared wasn't that different than those people in the town they had here.
As the small offering became a bit hectic and festive, the women that was tending to the desert making process on the kitchen decided that it was high time to get some neutralizers to sober up the soldiers and their drunk female companions. They were happy at the same time worried at the women and men that were enjoying themselves. The orc after being slapped laughed it off saying. "If.... bed... be strong... first." She says due to her drunken haste and struggling with the language barrier, winking at the soldier saying that she is interested.
The orc woman was oddly not ugly at all, she had the right assets and she had a tomboyish vibe into her in fact that she was able to beat some of the human girls if need be. The women on the other hand was beautiful and at the time young. They were good in cooking and with their reactions revealed that they were used to this kind of environment. The woman that helped the orc and served the meal was their overlooking the guest she always showed a smile and was careful and mindful to keep a fair bit distance to the men that was glopping the other woman involved.
"Are you having fun?" She asks in a fairly well Russian accent to the Russians which would surprise them seeing that she haven't spoken much of it. "Happy?" She then says in German clearly struggling. "Sir is the meal ok?" She asks a third time to ones that dine flustered and curious to know if her words were articulate enough for them to understand. Though there were many errors in the way she pronounced it, it was clear that she had practice it and was eager to see if her words were good enough.
The meat had a memorable and wonderful taste with the beer and drink being passed around which oddly made it all the better. If they had known better the little gathering was like a mini bar to the eyes of the people in town and with the sudden exit of the owner of their previous bar and its staff. The men and other women that wanted a quick chat and some place to relax started to flock into the bar their eyes longing for a quick drink and a good meal. But, there were others that had different plans.
For the most part, the situation remained decent and calm - as most of the angrier and trouble-makers remained in their positions and fortifications. Namely, they didn't trust some of them enough, to eat and drink with them. An expected outcome, as one couldn't please everybody at the same time. Same went with some among the German camp, although some of them still decided to engage in some occasional merrymaking.
As it was, suddenly the soldier in question whom had hit upon the orc woman - suddenly rose up and soon enough walked over to her and then with some words, decided to take her away to a secluded place. It seemed, that despite the capabilities - the modern humans didn't hold grudges for long. The other human got replies in confirmation, indicating that she was doing fine - although with the offering of alcohol placed upon the table, things were bound to get...weird.
As soon enough, one of the modern humans produced out a strange instrument. Namely one of the Russians produced out a large instrument - to which some called it was an accordion and in that case, the soldier started playing it. Which in a way sounded like somebody was torturing a cat - although for the more Russians of the group, they soon enough started singing up some of their folk songs or started engaging in activity that might be questionably be delegated under 'dancing'. Even that, they weren't against others joining their merrymaking or dancing.
With the sudden invitation the orc followed the man in hopes that he was indeed strong, flashing a quick looksee at her eager guest. “Careful… I… don’t…. Break.” She playfully says intending to say another thing but, due to her limited knowledge with the language failed and was able to say something she didn’t intent. Disappearing minutes after from the views of the others. But, before she left she utters 7 words before getting dragged into the secluded area away from curious eyes.
The woman server was happy to hear that her hard work was able to bear fruit. She smiled as she helped the other men and women that came to join into the merry making. Soon, drinks were exchanged and bottles were poured, the small tribute was almost a bar missing proper walls and doors and as the singing started the women were glad to have found out that they were able to bridge the two world together.
Meat was poured and opinions were said. The awful sound coming from the strange instrument that the world eaters had quickly been drown by the nostalgic songs of the people. They were drunk, happy and finally telling each other a few words they know. Some flirted, men chased and women were slapping a lot of their clients once again. Who knew that beer could allow once hated people to forget about the hostilities they had.
But, reality wasn’t going to make it easy. As a man stood up he was having a spoonful of the canned food that one of the world eaters generously gave to the staff to taste a little bit of earth cooking. “Are you trying to poison me?!” He yells out as he grabs the man by the collar. The women were shocked while the others looked at the man with disgust. “They are poisoning us fools! They are trying to make us weak and catch us by surprise!” He adds.
The guests not willing to let another merry atmosphere be destroyed grabbed the man. One of them punched him to make him loosen his grip on the man he grabbed by the collar. A man quickly got between them trying to say sorry but, due to the language barrier sounded like noise to him. “Let me… beat… him!” He yells as he tries to get away from the hold of the others sadly his words were clear enough for the world eater to understand what he wanted to say.
The women on the kitchen were scared a bar brawl was the last thing they needed and for it would destroy everything that they had worked for.
Some of the others tried to dissuade the fighting from getting any tractions - as such, one of the regular humans quickly walked over and picked up the can of food. Namely clearing it out of any dust before tasting it himself. Needless to say, they taste was almost felt before he got any more than a spoonful. "Beghh! Canned peas? No wonder, they think it poison. Taste like a goat' ass, Yuri!" yelled one, throwing it a Russian.
Needless to say, that diffused the situation in the simple way possible - namely, since the people likely would be too confused at the sight of two Russians try to get at each other. Namely when you combined alcohol and two men from that land, you had some rather hilarious results. As they bore witness to the chase of the drunk men - as one limped at the front, while the second tried to catch him. Both too drunk to even stand up straight and kept falling over each second.
"Yuri! You goat-fucker.... get....here...." he yelled, barely managing to keep up and he wanted to kick the ass of the first one, whom looked drunk as a skunk as well. Although for the rest of the humans it didn't seem all that surprising - since this sort of attitude was common among the army where they were from.
"Word of wisdom. Never eat can vegetables..." spoke one guy, to the man whom still felt angry. As the can was rather non-chalantly thrown into the nearest garbage bag. While it was happening, the drunk guys were still at it - or rather at each other.
As the men fight, in front of the patrons. The men and women couldn't help but laugh as they see them chase one another. But, one of them was confused, the thrown out man was speechless when he saw that instead of a punch one of them actually protected him and went to his side. Thought he didn't understand what the man said from the looks of it he was really actually helping him.
This made him giggle, he was completely wrong and he knew he was an ass for pretending that he didn't like the canned veggies. It was bad but, it had an exotic flavor to it. So with respect he shows himself out of the merry atmosphere that the ladies have worked hard to make.
After a while the natives of the gate started singing matching the Russians with an awful instrument of their own. A small wooden drum like object with strings on its sides. And like the Russians sounded awful like a truck crash skirting on the pavement. You couldn't know if it’s being played property or if the man is being drunk or maybe a combination of both but, regardless notes left their mouths, songs were played and men, women, orcs, man, lizardmen and other various other weird looking creatures danced and chatted.
A surreal scene of friendship between the inhabitants of the two worlds that was once at war with one another. Though the shining light of the sun stone continues on, the biological clocks of bro the races knew that it was indeed time to lay down and rest. This event made it easier to interact with the invaders still their sorrows and anger showing it was a flesh start as they started trading and organizing this mini feast to bridge the two worlds together.
Opinions of the world eaters and open minds have started interacting with them, still the language barrier still present they were still able to exchanges a few tales, soon as many of them migrated tales of these men in uniformed begun circulating. Bringing the curious towards the town, to see and interact with them in some form or shape.
