@tex Thank you for the explanations. It certainly sounds more encouraging than what your co-GM said which I appreciate.
I'll keep all that in mind and I'll make a response on Monday or Tuesday. Sorry for the dely, I was distracted and uninspired.
On another note I feel the need to mention that despite how capable Onweer may sound, it's her own ego speaking and not me desiring to make the most OP or badass character. I see RPing as a group project and innthe future if I make any mistakes I'd appreciate it if I have things explained to me patiently. I strive for realism just as much as you guys but since writing fantasy is largely a matter of imaginatiin on top of facts and the line is always less clear in players' minds than in GMs'.
Haha I see we have our first very distinctly anime character now. XD
Just a heads-up, don't wait for me as I might not be able to post for almost another week. I'll probably add something on my characters' prep as flashbacks when I'm able.
@Hatman1801 Ah ok, sorry bout that, I'm a bit too used to being creative and I didn't know you had limitations on how to use the magic our characters have. My logic is that as the wind passes through the given space and is broken by different humanoid objects it can create a sonar-like picture as the magic is then returned to the user. Anyway, I'll change it. Anything else I need to know before we continue so this doesn't happen again? If you have a clear idea of does and don't-s about wind and mind magic, I'd appreciate you PM me a guideline. Thanks.
Hey, new people, hello and welcome. I hope you're excited to get this thing started.
I'll be away for a bit longer but when I'm back I'll catch up with your character sheets and if you need any help settling in, I have a few characters that can help you...one way or another. ;)
Oh-hoo~ Onweer thought, impressed by the firepower of their vehicle. She couldn’t see what they were actually shooting at but quickly caught up with the events: it seemed like they were already meeting resistance.
She glanced at her comrades but none of them seemed too eager to react in any way. One of the guys in uniforms asked Yvette and the other woman about what to do, not having any bright ideas of his own. She felt split between the exciting prospect of a fight and the worry that the team leader might decide to pulverise any resistance rather literally with the help of that cannon. Onweer ran a hand down the smooth surface of her staff, smirking to herself. “I told you I should be riding on top. Divers are often outlaws but rarely murderers; they would have hesitated to fire at a living target. Do you want me to go out there now?”
Hey guys, sorry I've disappeared for a bit, I had a BD and a trip abroad. Things have calmed down a bit so I'll squeeze a post in today but I'll be a bit semi-absent for another week and a bit.
Name: Ludelle Glowren Alias/Nickname: Hazard, Riot Themesongs: No more Sorrow; Break the Ice Age: 237, slightly under half her expected lifespan. Race: Elf and metal elemental cross. Appearance:
Due to her mixed blood, Ludelle is shorter than the average female elf by a fair bit but for that matter, has been blessed (or cursed) with lush curves she accentuates with her clothing which is either very tight-fitting or straight out revealing to varying degrees. Her build is average but she weighs a lot more than her frame suggests. Additionally, when feeling threatened she would often rearrange her physical structure to create an internal armour beneath her skin. Insanely high heels are a must to make up for her high which she seems to be a bit sensitive about.
Ludelle’s hair is a natural gradient colour that gently grows from ginger red to bubblegum pink. Her eyes are a metallic grey and often hold a halo of pale-pink light shining around her pupils. This is especially prominent when Qtelneick is lending her his powers in order to let her cast minor illusions. Another type of luminescence can be spotted cruising through her body in channels when she’s electrically charged. When at her maximum capacity, the electric light pulses with the beating of her heart and spreads from there outwards, giving her chest, arms, legs and face an unnatural glow.
Personality: Ludelle has a strong sense of morality but that doesn’t mean she’s a pacifist. Although she desires the best for all races, she is a rational thinker and realises sacrifices need to be made to achieve success. Thus she is more than willing to trample on a few flowers along the way as long as it’s justified in her eyes.
Ludelle’s petite frame houses a great deal of anger and outrage about the current state of the world. She is an idealist and humanist and has a lot of compassion for the marginalised. Having a strong sense of justice, she finds it hard to tame her anger and instead looks for any opportunity to channel it and aim it at the nearest crook. Her views sound somewhat naive, as if she doesn’t realise there is more than just black and white, but she won’t easily change them.
All this considered, there is a less intense side to this woman. In her day-to-day, when not plotting or executing the next big terrorist attack, she is fairly easy-going and enjoys a good laugh and company over dinner.
Biography: Ludelle grew up in the slums of Angel’s landing and had far from a perfect life. An orphan from birth and with no prominent talents, she was doomed to spend her life juggled between foster-homes and institutions, each seeming worse than the previous. Neglect, verbal abuse, even the occasional beating were all things she had to accept. Playing tough on the outside she made it seem like she didn’t feel the pain or humiliation but on the inside strong emotions were brewing.
And for all that was taken from her, Ludelle found that she had received a gift as well. The accessibility to technology. Finding that to be her one true passion, she spent long hours playing around with tablets, computers, holographic projectors and even vehicles. She learnt how to disassemble and reassemble them, began tweaking them and eventually even started inventing her own programs. Her foster parents failed to see the danger in her new obsession and didn’t even realise it was the magic in her that was awakening. By the time they saw their emptied bank-account the girl was already gone… together with all traces of her existence.
The woman who emerged years later to join The Stygian Blade had a carefully crafted past that was significantly different than the original. Along with a new identity and a new apartment high up in the city’s towers, she devoted her programing skills to the guild. She had started off convinced that their ideology was what the city needed but as she plunged deeper into the database she discovered more and more proof of her own naivety. Unable to keep quiet, she started leaking information to the press and rival guilds, until she was eventually found out and sent to prison. With the help of The Stygian Blade, the staff have taken every precaution to ensure she’ll stay there forever.
Reason for recruitment: Used to work for The Stygian Blade and is a very talented hacker.
Strength of Will: Unnatural
Magic: Wild Magic (deriving from her elemental blood): Magnetism: capable of giving her body magnetic properties. Increased mass: the ability to change or rearrange her cell and molecule structure to make her limbs heavier. Electrical charge: the ability to store an electrical charge in her body. Additionally, electricity can’t do any damage to her body. When dealing with computers she can combine her metallic properties and an electrical charge to enter the maze of electronically recorded information and explore it.
Channeled Magic (from Qteleneick): Allure: capable of making herself seem more attractive with the use of magic. Deception: makes her seem much more trustworthy in any setting than she actually is. Requires eye-contact. Veil: can mask an item or herself, making them look like something different.
In dire situations Ludelle can decide to try and ask Qtelneick for help, without any guarantee whether he’ll answer or not. Very rarely and usually at his own whim, he allows her to say one thing but alters the perceptions of her company so they believe they’ve heard something different. Ludelle can sense if what the other person’s perceived is what she said, but can’t be certain what Qtelneick told them.
God relations: Qtelneick, The Fractured Sight. She knows him as “the blind cat”.
Tech: YES PLEASE! Currently none though.
Possessions/items/property: None at the moment.
Skills: Great at programing and hacking Natural at driving or piloting anything Increased sensitivity to metals Electroperception, electrolocation and electrocommunication Great navigation skills Some knowledge of herbs Good cook

Name: Sirius Dylan
Appearance:
Age: 70
Race: Human and water elemental mix
Personality: Many people would be tempted to describe Sirius with a single word: creep. He’s generally quiet and loves shamelessly staring at people for no apparent reason, nobody quite sure what he’s thinking. When he speaks he’s often sarcastic and unpleasantly blunt often coming across as an asshole.
However the people who have known him for a while would see another side of him. Sirius can be quite good company for a deep conversation if his companion doesn’t mind hopping on his occasionally disturbing train of thought. Additionally, he always listens to the other party’s opinion and seems very loyal and protective of his own.
Biography/history: Sirius is Calder Dylan’s younger half-brother and to most that’s all they’ll ever know about him. He hasn’t made a name for himself, instead always lurking in his brother’s shadow, often doing what Calder’s doing at the time.
The two have a complicated relationship built on distrust rather than trust. Unlike his older brother, Sirius wasn’t born powerful and never really shared Calder’s thirst for knowledge either. That doesn’t mean he’s content being second best. It seems to most that being the troll’s bother is the only thing that defines Sirius as a person and that that one-sided rivalry is his sole purpose in life.
Whether that’s true or not, he’s never said but his actions seem to support that theory. Always appearing where Calder is at the moment, striving to be better than him or at least sabotage Calder, is a story that’s repeated itself many times in the past. Never quite besting his brother, Sirius goes through life trying to do just that.
Reason for recruitment: WIP
Strength of Will: Potent Will
Magic: Wild magic: Water and Ice-based magic due to his elemental blood. Channelled magic: He’s got mediocre skills when it comes to divination and some knowledge of alchemy.
God relations: A long time ago Unvaris reached out for Sirius and changed his life forever. Sirius himself isn't aware of that as the god introduced himself as Mr. Sparrow and appeared in the shape of a bird wearing a monocle, cane and a top-hat. The consequences of that meeting are yet to be seen.
Tech: Sirius has two implants in his body, both artefacts linked to his channelled magic. The first one is responsible for his alchemy and takes the shape of a platinum bracelet protruding out of the skin on his left wrist. The more important one is a round amulet implanted in the right side of his abdomen and is a secret not even his brother is aware of.
Possessions/items/property: Sirius owns and currently lives in a small converted storage-space just over a slum in Angel’s Landing. The space has no windows and only one dim lightbulb, a mattress on the floor, a chamber-pot and a tub he occasionally uses for bathing. Food wraps and drying fruit-husks litter the floor but they get removed before the stench becomes too foul to arise suspicion with the neighbours. In a chest at the far end are a variety of non-letal weapons such as a vomit and LED incapacitator, a small portable PHASR, and stun-gun among others, some ropes and a few small shotguns and knives. In one corner there’s a sniper-rifle, equipped with a night visor and a few boxes of smart ammunition. Everything he owns is completely legalised, the papers neatly stashed in the only cabinet holding a few bottles of alcohol, two glasses and supporting an old scratched-up TV with no remote.
Name: Born as Hazumi Harwen but has used Akime [A-ki-meh] for most of her life.
Alias/Nickname: Dark Phoenix, Bloody Maiden, [other suggestions?]
Appearance: Her true appearance, as seen in an old history book
Her assumed appearance
Age: 1789
Race: True Fae
Personality: Most often Akime is a calm, collected and very patient individual. Although she looks young, her age is made apparent when talking to most in her parental and occasionally slightly patronising demeanour. She seems to have a peculiar set of views and morals and can sometimes seem very forgiving while other times she could be very harsh with her judgment. She is caring in her own way but neither is her love unconditional, nor is it easily understood.
On the other hand, Akime isn't always as mature as she seems at first. She can be seen wearing clothes that don't fit her age or personality, sleeping on the roof and playing pranks on occasion. She's also known for suddenly vanishing from the Tower with little explanation, though that doesn't mean she would ever neglect her duties or refuse to help if she's needed.
Biography:
Akime's history starts in the small realm of Zentra in Hell. It was a land full of life, and also full of rigid traditions and strong values of discipline an honour. Although the land was fertile and the folk was united, the realm had one major problem. Zentra was stuck between powerful neighbours and battles for territory occurred daily. Centuries passed and people's resilience was constantly tested. Their only hope for stability were the numerous bootcamps for the peasantry and their much respected rulers – the devils of the Harwen dynasty. They were a long line of warlords, born and bred for war and were exceptional at their trade. The Harwen didn't shy from conflict and readily lead their armies to battle. However, during a particularly bad war on all three fronts, all of the royalty were slain. All but the youngest one, still too young for battle – Irus.
Irus' parents and siblings had managed to do enough damage before their demise, buying him little but valuable time. Swayed by the words of his advisors, he took the young angel Martina as a bride in the hope that their offspring will outmatch even them with their abilities. It seemed like a good idea... but the events that followed were unforeseen.
The child was born dead. But it refused to stay dead for long. Instead of laying still in its mother's arms, it stirred and the more lively it became, the more the spark faded in Martina's eyes. By the time anyone realised what had happened, one of them was dead and the other one was crying at the top of her lungs. Mad with grief, Irus raised a hand to strike the baby... and became its second victim. The servants were perplexed but one thing they knew. They needed a ruler and the rigid traditions demanded that this baby be it. The child that was the last of the lineage that had melted like snow overnight was named with their word for spring.
Over time it became obvious that the child wouldn't simply harm anyone who touched her. When she became aware of her own abilities, she even started learning to tame them. It wasn't an easy process. The child was naturally temperamental and not just one in her vicinity lost their life on a foolish whim of hers, but the court was dedicated and the child was raised with respect and care. The remaining war generals electing a regent as ruler until she was mature and taking turns between themselves to teach her or protect the realm's borders.
Having been trained to fight ever since she could walk, Hazumi got her maiden battle prematurely, when she was only seven years old. Convinced that the heat of the battle would give the girl the necessary push to turn from being a fighter into being a true living weapon, general Artos took her with him to the western front. Little is known about the exact turn of events but one thing was obvious: a wasteland that stretched for miles where all life was eradicated. The girl's skin started glowing with the power of the souls she'd just consumed and it became a visual radiance of power she would never again be able to rid herself of.
There was a positive side to the disaster. The event had appalled friend and foe alike and а truce was accepted. In the years to follow, Hazumi had the opportunity to perfect her abilities and even test them on a few occasions. However in her heart, the girl realised that fighting wasn't where her heart lay. Although death didn't bother her, she grew up feeling that there should be a meaning to it. Once power was officially put back in her hands, she used it to hold a diplomatic meeting with the neighbouring realm of Ssakr and negotiated a peaceful union.
Needless to say, the people of Zentra felt betrayed. As a warring nation, they preferred perishing in battle than giving in to the enemy. A huge uprisal ensued but the appearance of Hazumi, alone and on foot, was quick to put an end to it. They knew better than anyone what her message was: live or die. All of them. There was no alternative. The men and women threw their weapons on the ground and admit the Unity.
Hazumi went back to the Ssakrian palace with a victory in her hand. It was time to conclude the marriage that was arranged as a peace offering between her and one of the lord's sons. The ceremony was grand and the newly-wed retreated to their chambers together. The next morning, the prince was found dead. Unwilling to believe that it wasn't intentional, the lord exiled Hazumi, now known as the Bloody Maiden by the folk.
Discarding her name and her past, Hazumi named herself Akime and started roamed Galendar in search for her destiny.
For a while she was involved in politics, joined and even lead a few wars but most of her life was spent wandering, never truly fitting in. She didn't let anything bring her down, always searching, always experimenting. She even tried to remarry once more but it proved that just because you'd like to forget your past doesn't mean that everyone else will. Barely anyone would dare approach her behind closed doors and soon she gave up looking, devoting herself instead to whatever she found meaningful at the time.
Despite her long and abundant life Akime isn't a legend. There was a point in her youth when she sought fame but that is long past. Few of the books written about or by her still remain but they've faded in people's memories. Although she's not hiding or shying away from responsibility, since she joined the Tower of Stars her deeds were rarely memorable. She now prefers to be known to few rather than many.
Reason for recruitment: Accidental, she had nothing better to do at the time. Or so she says.
Strength of Will: Superior
Magic (Entirely Wild):
Summoning – Akime can summon and control any creature to her with little trouble, no matter how far, large, or stubborn it is. She can also summon the sentient races but whether or not she can control them is a matter of speculation.
Abjuration- She has extraordinary self-healing properties but weak abilities when it comes to healing others.
Alchemy- She can use any living, and most dead things, as source of power needed in order to alter or create something else. Additionally, she can bring inanimate objects to life.
Illusion/Enchantment- Creating illusions of any calibre is a simple task for her and they're almost impossible to tell apart from the reality.
Divination- She can sense almost every living creature on the continent as long as there is a source of natural light in their vicinity. Though her skills are diminished at night, they're never completely gone.
Force Magic- She is only capable of two offensive moves, one of which is extremely weak, the other – extremely powerful. The first one is a simple ball of light (or increasing of the light of a certain area). The second one is literally taking someone's life-force away. It's rumoured that she can do more, like making people ill, or turning sunlight into deadly lasers but none of these was ever confirmed.
God relations: Akime has spent time in various shrines trying to get in touch and learn from Elsingdar, Exandra and Orcorum but has barely ever met them. The only god she's truly communicated with is Thandarilasad, who strongly disagreed with the easy way she can manipulate life and they quickly became hostile to each other. Akime is certain that if he gets the chance, he'd love to get rid of her and all the disturbances she's causing to his subjects.
Tech: She is horrible with tech and prefers to stay away from it.
Possessions/items/property: Without admitting it to anyone, Akime misses the mansion she grew up quite a bit and tries to replicate it in her quarters in the Tower. That includes a big art gallery and the second biggest collection of bladed weapons in the world. The biggest one was back in her home-land. Doesn't have one of her own but often sneaks in people's libraries. She also has a huge walk-in closet full of clothes and accessories, some of which she never will, or never should wear.
Companions: Akime has three fateful companions that barely ever leave her side. Their names are Ibuki, Cole and Amber. Depending on the situation they appear either with their own bodies, or masked by illusions. For example, Ibuki takes on the guise of a large with glowing horns, Cole appears as a pale with teal wings and Amber is a . When in their human bodies, they’re all extremely good-looking, however only Cole’s griffin body is truly his own. The other two have passed long ago and have since been accompanying Akime as zombies, borrowing physical bodies from people recently passed. Someone who has known the four long enough can recognize them despite the illusions, based on the affectionate nicknames Akime has given them: boy-toy, darling and Schätzchen respectively.
Ibuki is the person Akime’s known the longest. In fact, ever since she was born. While she had a lot of guardians in her early years, all of them were adults. Ibuki was the child of one of the ruling generals, and thus ended up spending a lot of time around Hazimi, especially when it was his father’s turn to live in the mansion and teach the girl. Hazumi’s wild temperament and her tendency to get into trouble (or cause it) awoke the boy’s guardian instinct and his sense of duty. On her part, Hazumi always considered him a slightly annoying older brother. He’s the voice of reason in the group, always responsible and ready to scold his mistress. He doesn’t get along with Cole, whom he considers a temporary ally at best.
While he was alive, Ibuki specialized in alchemy and earth magic. Like most, since his passing he’s lost most of his abilities, but as the one who’s helped Akime develop her own skills, he’s still a very cherished mind in combat, as well as out.
Unlike the others, Cole is exactly what he appears to be: a griffin and very much alive. His encounter with Akime happened only five years ago and was pure chance. It was during Akime’s latest short-notice quests when she was trekking the mountains of ______ that she came across a griffin’s lair. Tired and chilled to the bone, she sought shelter among the nesting female’s feathers and was quickly granted such. When their bodies touched, however, Akime realised a terrible truth: the female was very sick and wouldn’t last long enough for her eggs to hatch. This is how Cole found them when he got back from the hunt: weeping and cursing fate together. The couple pleaded with Akime to keep Crystal alive at least long enough to see their offspring… and she agreed. Amber surrendered her current body for Akime to use for the spell. Ibuki refused, forever losing Cole’s respect.
After Crystal perished and the offspring were raised, Cole sought Akime out and became her servant. He still disappears on occasion and is the only one who does so without letting the woman know. He’s occasionally hard to talk to but seems to trust Akime and goes along with all her little whims.
Akime met Amber during one of the wars for Angel’s landing when they were both working towards pushing the Stygian army back. Amber, then aged 20, and called Isabelle Venora, was a very talented witch specialising in force magic and shape-shifting. Everyone had high hopes for her, her skills outmatching those of most experienced mages by far. She soon got to lead a legion of her own, her fame stretching far and wide and earning her the title “The Golden Axe”. For all her virtues, however, Amber had one significant vise - her impulsivity. Despite Akime and Ibuki both warning her against it, she took more and more risks, thinking herself to be invincible. One of those risks was to be her downfall: meeting Christian Highfell head-on in battle. After Amber’s untimely death, Akime approached Christian, asking him to return the girl’s soul.
Few of the many who have heard of the Golden Axe are aware that she’s still inhabiting the world. Both “Amber” and “Schätzchen ” are puns, referring to the girl’s glorious past. Nowadays she’s travelling the world, causing trouble for the group and occasionally casting weak spells on bystanders without little warning.
Skills: Due to her age she's decently at almost anything you can think of that doesn't involve cleaning, cooking or technology. And don't ever let her drive.
Misc: Has somewhat unconventional views on life, death and duty. Due to her light pace and her habit of wandering she often appears to be sneaking around the Tower of Stars Loves most mellow instrumental music, all sorts of animals and storms. Enjoys watching TV and observing training sessions.
