Name: Mai
Age: 26
Birthplace: Imperial Capital
Side: Imperial Capital
Personality: Mai appears to be calm and gentle in nature. She likes to maintain a composed and relaxed sense of self and portrays this in the way she'll speak and act in situations. She enjoys having deep conversations, especially about philosophy or topics which provoke deeper thinking. She also carries an appreciation for art in all forms and enjoys beautiful scenery. Mai usually proves herself useful in crisis situations, often remaining calm and putting her mind into solving a problem rather than focusing on the problem itself. That isn't to say she doesn't know fear, Mai can become fearful and even intimidated if she's presented with a situation she isn't sure she can win. This will usually result in her faltering in how she presents herself which will be when she looks for friends and those close to her for guidance. Mai is very observant and appears to have a heightened sense of perception when interacting with people, often able to tell when she's being lied too or if something seems out of the ordinary. People around Mai will notice she favors to observe those around her, including her enemies before she'll directly engage with them.
Backstory: Mai was born and raised in a noble home, being provided everything and anything she could ever need or require. Money, food and shelter were all at the fingertips or her family and it was because of this that her parents could afford her a decent education as well as private lessons in various art forms such as dance, the violin and even martial arts classes when she reached a certain age. Mai knew she was a privileged child, though until latter in her years she remained ignorant to the world outside of her families wealth and fortune, having no concept of poverty. Despite all she was given Mai was never really happy, especially with the relationship she had with her parents who withheld from nurturing her during her upbringing. Growing up she was forced to take on many responsibilities and undertakings that she didn't want too, though any chance of discussion with her parents about it fell on deaf ears. They had plans for her and as a bearer of the family name they demanded she obey their rules and words without question. Years latter after Mai graduated and became able to apply her skills in the real world, her parents gifted her with a special relic that contained unique properties, hoping it would help her to secure a place or rank within the Imperial Capital. It was quite a gamble, the relic containing the possibility to reject and even kill her. However it seemed the relic was compatible and it was then that Mai's life truly began.
Weapons and Equipment: None.
Theme Song:Others: Mai can sometimes express OCD like behaviors in some of the things she does, such as neatness of a working area or things done in a certain way. These tendencies seem to be minor, however they do appear to bother her when messed with and if done intentionally it could provoke and trigger her temper.
Teigu Teigu Name: Fists of Death - Yami
Teigu Appearance: Teigu Type: Elemental, Offensive
Teigu Abilities:Strength of Grim The most basic ability the gauntlets provide is the increase in strength which enables the user to lift almost three times their own body weight. This also enables the user to punch with a higher degree of impact, using it's innate element of dark to reinforce the strength increase. This means impacts from punches are delivered with staggering and devastating amounts of pressure, enough to cause significant trauma and even death when struck by these punches.
Abyss Walking - PassiveThe user of the gauntlets gains the ability to jump between shadows and dark areas that fall within the users line of sight, allowing them to phase briefly between reality in order to essentially teleport short distances. If the shadow is removed or light is used to remove the darkness in the area, the user will be unable to return and will be forced to seek other dark areas close by for them to return to.
NevermoreThe user sends forth a flock of crows made of dark to attack the enemy with their talons and beaks. The crows are incredibly weak to light and can be destroyed physically by attacks, the user will also be unable to cast this ability in direct sunlight though artificial light does not seem to affect them. This is the relics only ranged attack.
Reapers Nightmare This ability can become active when the user directly grabs a person by their arms, legs or neck. The user may gain insight into the victims inner most fears and is able to project an illusion of the fear into the immediate area for a certain amount of time. The user may also use this time to withdraw information from the victim, however the process is consequently longer and leaves the user vulnerable to attack. Additionally too much time spent within the mind of another can have severe mental backlashes which will render the user dazed and possibly confused for a short amount of time.
Sprint of Death - PassiveThis ability is only able to be used during the night and allows the user to run and move incredibly fast. It is a limited time ability and can be slowed by light, however this ability is best used either for engaging opponents or fleeing from battle. During the daytime this ability
can still activate, but only functions at a third of it's ability power, making the user fast but only as much as the fastest human who is without power.
Trump Card: Darkness EternalThe gauntlets absorb all the natural and artificial light from the area, creating complete darkness that only the user can see through. During this time the user gains additional buffs to their other abilities, making them stronger, faster and generally more deadly. In addition to this ability, the user is able to project illusions into the darkness from their own imagination, allowing enemies to experience and see things they wish for them to see. So for example, should the user want to make it appear as though they're standing on a mountain, the darkness will react like a blank canvas and change to project that environment. However If the user opts to cast an environmental illusion such as that, the opponent will be able to see the user for as long as the illusion remains active, unless the illusion directly covers the user through use of a wall or any kind of illusion object. Unlike some of the relics other abilities, this is the only one unaffected by daylight. Also unlike the illusion caused by the relics other ability, these illusions can directly effect the victim through touch, smell and other methods by targeting the victims mind and projecting onto the senses. So for example, if an illusion stabs you it'll feel as though you're being stabbed even though in reality you aren't which as a consequent can severely harm the victim as their body would still suffer the trauma.
Strengths: - Allot of Strategy application.
- Significantly better in the presence of darkness.
- Can work well in team fights.
- Can deflect blades and projectiles due to the relic being extremely durable.
Weaknesses:- Strong aversion to light.
- Can cause mental trauma to the user.
- Can cause difficulties in adjusting to light.
- Weak and slow projectiles despite the number of them.
- Taxing on the mind and can cause severe mental exhaustion if the user pushes themselves too hard.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Ok, this is my attempt. Sorry if the background is vague, I didn't want to step on any bits of canon information I didn't know about. Hopefully this is ok, I tried to balance it as best I could by giving it a glaring weakness. If anything needs changing just let me know ^^
