Witch Cat's Pathetic Attempt at Organising a World for an RP Which Will Most Likely Never Happen!

The story will take place somewhere in New Orleans and during the year 201X. The world is almost exactly the same as ours, the only difference being magic exists in this world. Magic and the paranormal are present everywhere around the globe, but after multiple witch hangings and vampire hunts, keeping the paranormal secretive is an unspoken promise between all supernatural beings of the world. The only humans who know of this other world are witch hunters who are mostly born into the knowledge.

However, some supernaturals are fed up with having to hide their true identity and so want to stage an uprising. The players will be split into 3 groups: group 1 being people who want to keep supernaturals a secret, group 2 who wants to reveal themselves and demand rights and kill anyone in their way, and group 3 being people who don’t care or tread the fine line between group 1 and 2.

People in group 2 (and maybe 3, they're allowed to swap as much as they want), as mentioned before, are trying to reveal the supernatural to the public eye and demand rights. But this won't happen peacefully. The person leading the efforts, Kyran and his clan, want to kill the mayor and establish control over the town. People in group 2 can choose to achieve that goal a different way, but just coming out to the public as a witch will set a bounty on your head, keep that in mind. And people in group 1 simply want to stop group 2, by hunting them down, making them change their mind, or a number of other ways. How the player justifies their opinions are totatlly up to them.

Witch Hunters will be placed in group 1 or 3, but all other supernaturals are allowed to pick from all 3 groups.

Finally, the story will be taking place the day after an attack organised by Kyran's clan took place. The details of the attack are being covered up but some information has been leaked to the public and some people are questioning if supernaturals really are just fairy tales and photoshopped photos. Tread carefully as everyone right now is in a state of panic, one false move could mess the whole thing up.

Witch

Weaknesses
Their magic can be overpowered or blocked with other forms of magic, however, they themselves are not inherently weak to anything.

General Information
Witches can also be called warlocks, wizards, sorcerers, mages, etc. It all comes down to the user’s preference.

Anyone can become a witch, but most are just born with the talent to do it better.

All witches have a slight power that is involuntary. For example, their knees ache when someone is going to die or they can sense when magic is about to be cast.

Witches cannot cast anything without a method of channelling power. So objects like wands and circles must be used to actually use magic, tool-less magic is only achievable by infusing the witch with the power of different elements or aspects of the universe. However, even that power is limited and can be used up quickly.

Wand magic is the weakest form of magic, however, it is quick and easy to cast.

Circle magic, otherwise known as rituals, is the go-to way of casting for witches. Usually, involves a circle drawn with chalk with ingredients within the circle that get used up when casting. Rituals can also be created as long as the spell isn’t too powerful and the ingredients are fitting for the purpose. Multiple witches can cast within the same circle which will dramatically increase the power of the spell, some spells require multiple witches to be cast. Spells targeting a specific person will most likely require a taglock, DNA of the target, in order to properly target them.

Witches also have some other tools at their disposal: Enchanted knives, crystal balls, voodoo dolls, a familiar, flying brooms, enchanted clothing that can help dispel magic, and spell books for recording and researching spells.

Witches can also look for spells online, but they run the risk of finding a fake spell or a dangerous one without knowing it.

Spells, especially more difficult ones, have a chance at backfiring.

Potions, except for a few examples, don’t have any rigid rules on how they should be made. Certain reagents have certain effects which can be mixed or combined with other effects in a single potion. Throwing a tag lock in a brew will cause the effects to only apply to a single person no matter where they are given that they aren’t too far away.

Only witches who regularly practice magic can live for hundreds of years, but they still will look like they aged 100s of years. However, glamour spells can be used to disguise the witch’s age, though they are temporary and all witches die at some point.

Werewolf

General Information
Werewolves transform into wolves (not half human hybrids) every night, not only on the night of a full moon. But, depending on how full the moon is, it can alter how powerful a werewolf is. The fuller the moon, the more powerful the werewolf.

An experienced werewolf will be able to stop themselves from transforming into wolf at night, but they will be in a constant state of agitation or frustration.

Not all werewolves can infect another person, only the most dominant will be able to. Though, high-level witches can curse someone with lycanthropy using a moon charm in a full moon ritual.

Werewolves in their human form retain some of their physical boosts, but it is only a fraction of the power they receive once in wolf form.

Werewolves can convince normal wolves to make a pack with them, basically giving the werewolf control over those wolves.

Werewolf/Vampire hybrids are possible, though very rare.

No one is born a werewolf, only transformed into one. So 2 werewolves who breed will give birth to a human, not a werewolf.

In their human form, there are no physical attributes that give away that they are a werewolf, though their reactions and habits can cause some people to grow suspicious.

Werewolves in their wolf form look like normal wolves.

Werewolves live to around the age of a 135.

Anything silver if used to purposely harm a werewolf will easily slice through their defences and cause extreme stinging. But a werewolf passively touching anything silver, like silver spoons or bullets, will not be harmed.

Werewolves naturally follow hierarchies. So a more dominant werewolf who proves his might will easily sway other “inferior” werewolves. Dominant wolves are mostly defined through trials of combat.

Vampire

General Information
Like werewolves, only a skilled vampire can turn someone else into a vampire, but a lower levelled vampire can turn someone into a minion.

Minions are like slaves who follow the vampire’s every command but die 3 days after becoming a minion and are usually very fragile. Only people close to death can become a minion.

Vampires can only consume blood, attempting to eat food will essentially poison them and give them extreme hunger.

Any blood can be drunk by a vampire, but human blood is always the tastiest and most preferred.

Extracting blood is usually painful unless if the vampire is being extra careful, but a mind controlled victim will not feel anything.

Mind control victims are like minions just slower and capable of snapping out of it after an hour max. People with magical protection or iron-will can shrug off the attempts of mind control.

Vampires are never born, only transformed. Witches can curse someone with vampirism using a blood charm under a new moon.

Vampires don’t have any outwardly present features that expose them as being vampires, their sharp teeth aren’t long and are easily hidden in the mouth.

Vampires can have dark skin.

Vampires who are low on blood will succumb to fatigue before dying shortly after.

An average vampire will require 3 blood bags full of blood a day to stay well-fed and healthy.

All vampires are immortal but can be killed.

Holy items will only drive vampires away, not kill them.

Garlic works well in driving away vampires due to their scent being so powerful to a vampire’s heightened senses, but if a vampire simply pinches his nose or fights through the pain, the garlic will be rendered ineffective.

Sunlight instantly kills all vampires.

Witch Hunters

• Sense the supernatural
• Crossbow capable of firing enchanted bolts with varying effects
• Silver sword
• Infused clothes able to weaken curses and magic sent after them
• Spirit animal who will fight with them

Weaknesses
Their armour and weapons can be parried and destroyed, but the witch hunter isn’t inherently weak to anything.

General Information
All witch hunters want to stop or eradicate all or at least one form of the supernatural (witches, demons, vampires, etc.)

All witch hunters must follow a dogma or a religion that justifies their actions against the supernatural, but it doesn’t have to be a religion from the real world.

Their “spirit animals” are said to be angels who aid the witch hunter, they can be any large animal capable of killing but they are more often than not wolves.

Trained witch hunters can sense the supernatural but are not able to exactly pinpoint the location without the help of tools.

Witch hunter armour is made of infused leather and will only work if they are wearing the full set. Witch hunter armour is also durable.

Witch hunter armour consists of a wide brimmed hat, trench coat, and leather boots. They can be any colour but black or dark brown is traditional.

Witch hunters can form secret organisations to hunt down the supernatural.

Death

General Information
To become Death, you must first summon and kill the previous personification of Death.

Death can only be summoned by killing 4 people with a ritual knife

Mavros is Death’s skeletal horse who can be summoned at will and will never tire

Death cannot instantly kill anyone

Death is not needed for people to continue dying.

If a player becomes Death, all their previous race abilities will be overridden.

Death can keep someone alive by sacrificing another

Death will always be wearing a traditional black cloak

Ghosts

• Small powers relating to how they died

• Banishing rituals
• Salt
• Holy and unholy items

General Information
Their powers are usually slight in nature. If someone died in a fire, they’ll be able to periodically summon a small flame to set something on fire, if they were shocked to death they’d be able to cause electric appliances to short circuit, etc.

Everyone has a slight chance of becoming a ghost after they die, but any dead person can be summoned as a ghost for a short period of time by using a spell.

If a player becomes a ghost, all their previous abilities are overridden and replaced with a ghost’s abilities

All ghosts are translucent and shimmering.

Ghosts can only pass into the afterlife by a banishing ritual or by destroying the body and/or items the ghost holds dear.

Strong light only drives them away, not kill ghosts or banish them.

Salt keep them at bay if the salt is arranged in a circle or polygon shape.

Banishing rituals will permanently remove the ghost from the area if it is unsuccessful trying to make the ghost pass into the next life

Any religious item, holy or unholy, will weaken and drive away a ghost if the item is believed to drive away evil. Items such as crosses and nazars qualify.

Ghosts cannot pass through living material and cannot doge damage by phasing out of reality.

Imp

General Information
All imps obvious to spot. They have very otherworldly and weird features such as red skin or a short stature, but those are just examples, in reality imps can look like anything as long as it isn't too human or animal like.

Imps are basically weak demons.

All imps are born, not transformed into one. An imp is born by 2 imps breeding or a demon child dying.

Imps can consume the heart of any living creature and gain a boost in their physical prowess and transform into a demon for a short amount of time, usually 30 minutes (3 turns). The amount of power they gain scales depending on how large the heart is, so a child’s heart while tasty does very little but an elephant heart gives them the ability to smash through any wall. When in this demon transformation, imps cannot use pyromancy.

An imp can use pyromancy at any time given that the area or the imp isn’t too cold or has magical protection on it.

An imp can throw fire balls, set anything alight with their mind, be immune to fire for 2 turns, or summon a living flame that lasts for 2 turns. The living flame automatically throws fireballs at an imp’s target but getting the flame wet or damaging it in any way will instantly kill it and another cannot be summoned for another 2 turns.

An imp is very sensitive to cold. Throwing a snowball at it is enough to knock an imp out and a room with a running AC in it will make an imp nauseous.

Imps, if not killed, will live for exactly 1000 years.

Salt will not harm them, only keep them at bay if the salt is arranged in a circle or polygon shape.

A holy item is described as in item present in major religions such as holy books or crosses. Imps will be weakened when close to them and an intense burning sensation is felt by the imp if it makes skin contact with the item.

Nephilim

General Information
All Nephilim are born, not transformed. They can be born to human parents, but not parents with connections to the supernatural except for angels.

All children with Nephilim blood in their veins have a tiny chance of becoming Nephilim when born. Some Nephilim children grow up to be prodigies with no idea about their angelic heritage.

All Nephilim look like humans, but all Nephilim are (realistically) tall and conventionally attractive.

All Nephilim have a goal they are working towards in life, it can be anything, curing cancer to eradicating a certain demographic but it must be justified in their eyes. Nephilim will put full effort into achieving their goals.

All Nephilim are infertile.

While their holy aura can drive away curses and demons it is not a foolproof shield. Magic powerful enough can break it and a loss of faith can severely weaken it. This aura does not fend off physical attacks.

Nephilim have hidden wings they can use to glide short distances and hover for a short while. But actually flying like a bird is impossible.

While Nephilim are strong, they can very easily bleed out and/or be bruised and they have a weaker healing factor than the average human.

Any unholy item from any belief system, whether the user believes in it or not, will weaken a Nephilim if brought close to them. If the item makes contact with the skin it causes an intense burning sensation. An unholy item is described as an item not present in any major religions.

Demons

Higher levelled imps. They are immensely strong and it takes a team to take one down. They periodically travel into the human world but they can be summed by killing a human sacrifice. Their hearts can be eaten by imps or used by witches for spells.

Wisps

Souls from the spirit world. They are harmless and when killed go back to the spirit world. Following them leads the player to great danger or reward.

Fairest of Them All

Only one exists every generation. They have a heart of literal gold which can be used for magical purposes, but its exact effects are unknown. The fairest of them can be anyone and is always kind and extremely beautiful, their whereabouts can only be found by using a magic mirror.

Trolls

Tiny spirits made of rock and flesh and are extremely religious. Convincing one to worship the player will then in turn give the player a boost in all their abilities. The more trolls worshipping the player, the more powerful they become but trolls are easily killed and once dead the player loses their bonus power. Trolls can be found deep within lush forests usually near moss or boulders.

Mirror Demon

Shapeless demons who take the form of their target and gain their powers. Killing one will cause them to drop an enchanted mirror which can be used to ask questions about the location of the fairest of them all.

Nightmares

Takes the form of their target’s worst fear and will hunt down their target. They can only be killed with an evil eye charm or a dream catcher.

Banshees

Screeching souls of dead woman who appear only when someone is about to die. Their piercing screams can deafen and they are only defeated if someone is able to please them.

Ghouls

A counterpart to the banshees. They are silent lost souls of men who died longing after love. They chill all who come close to them (literally) and they seek the warmth and love of the living. They too can only be defeated when appeased.

Poltergeist

Trickster spirits who can be summoned every time a ghost is born or travels to the mortal plane. They are invisible spirits who only cause mayhem and destruction. They can only be stopped by killing them.

• Sword Cane
  A tool used mainly by a vampire, has a secret compartment that stores the blood of slain foes. Gifted to a vampire who joins a vampire clan.
• Demon Pact
  A pact made from parchment and drizzled with pig’s blood. Can be made by anyone and used to make a deal with a demon.
• Sun Bomb
  A vial of pure sunlight used by witch hunters to stun vampires. Made by leaving a quartz bottle out at noon.
• Grimoire
  Witch’s spell book. Contains all basic rituals, potions, and wand magic.
• Enchanted Mirror
  A mirror with a spirit trapped in it. Dropped by a mirror demon or made by casting a binding ritual on a wisp to a mirror.
• Crystal Ball
  Enchanted crystal ball capable of being used by all witches to look into the future.
• Statue of the Goddess
  A statue that teleports to a new location everyday. Finding the statue will cure the finder of all diseases and curses and prevents death for a short while.
• Enchanted Broom
  A flying broom which can only be made by a witch but can be ridden by anyone
• Necromantic Stone
  A stone capable of strengthening every undead who possess it. Giving them resistances to salt and holy items. Crafted by pouring the blood of a human sacrifice over a ruby or opal gem.
• Death’s Robes
  Dropped upon killing the previous version of death, the wearer gains all Death’s powers but is unable to take the robe off unless if they are killed.

Death

Previously known as Arthur Pettigrew, he was a knight from the dark ages who had defeated Death but now is cursed to roam the world watching from the background and everyone he loved dropped dead around him, except for his wife. Every year he roams the towns killing people to keep his wife alive for another year.

Kyran Alfendo

A vampire who runs his own clan in the states. An ancient vampire of an unknown age who is known by vampires all over the world Kyran is cold, cunning, and manipulative, many have tried to kill him, 631 to be exact, and he has enslaved them all. He is also spearheading the efforts to overthrow the mortals and has opened the door to his clans to every supernatural who wishes to help him, but he is slightly prejudiced against werewolves. However, he is also what can be described as a "supernatural supremacist". He doesn't see supernaturals as simply being magic humans, but rather the next step in evolution. Killing the mayor and taking over the town is just the first step to his much grander plan.

Lilith

Mother of all demons and vampires. She is a horrific demon capable of transforming into any beautiful woman. She regularly stalks the world and kidnaps young men and women to turn into horrific beasts. She is rumoured to be unkillable but can be summoned by mixing the blood of 4 vampires. But why would anyone want to do that? *hint hint*

The Lord of Torment

A feared and mysterious demon who is said to guard the gates of hell. He can only be summoned by a group of demons and/or imps in a ritual where they torture a person for the longest time possible. Once summoned, he will remain on Earth for a year before going back to hell. If one was to make a pact with him, he will give the player the ability to send one person to hell in exchange for something. The cost is usually very drastic and high, but if completed the demon will throw a person into hell and keep them there for all eternity unless if they can escape a challenge he sets for them.

Adoff Richards

A kind old man who roams the forests with his pack of senior dogs. He skirts the edges of the forests taking in and helping new werewolves to understand their new found power after being cursed with their affliction. He is extremely sympathetic, quiet, reserved, and wishes to keep the supernatural hidden and sometimes pushes his opinions on the werewolves he takes in. It is unclear whether he's a werewolf himself or not.

Richard Wolfsbane

An adept and merciless witch hunter. While he may be gentle towards his fellow humans, he treats all forms of the supernatural with extreme prejudice. Asad, his spirit companion who takes the form of a lion, is equally as fierce as him. Ripping apart every foe in their path. Richard also found the secret organisation known as P.R.I.E.S.T. An elite organisation who train new witch hunters and eradicate threats to humanity. He is also spearheading the efforts to keep the supernatural hidden and so has chosen to tolerate select supernatural individuals so that he has some extra help.

Eudora Esmeralda Erebus

Eudora is perhaps the least dramatic of them all. Eudora is a kindly old witch who has a mysterious past she is very tight-lipped about. She has recently set up a shop in town, providing magical remedies for people’s problems and mostly staying out of trouble. However, once she flips on the “closed” sign, her shop turns into a hub for young and senior witches to travel to in search of advice, spells, and reagents for their latest cursing. While very quiet and kind, she is a fiery flame on the inside who is not afraid to snap at anyone who dares try to cross her. Her opinions towards the uprising are unknown.

Amanda Pettigrew

The wife of Arthur Pettigrew. Despite being hundreds of years old, Amanda (her new name) looks as if she's in her 20s, but her mind is in slight ruin. She is a rather senile but otherwise kind woman who was gifted with the ability to see the dead, she frequently talks to the ancient ghosts who cross her path, sometimes giving cryptic clues that only make sense at the right time.

Mayor Makarov

The mayor of this queer little town (duh). He's a light hearted and joking man, he's the last person you'd expect to be running a cult, but alas, he is. Aware of Kyran's plan to assassinate him, Makarov has surrounded himself with his own little gang of witch hunters, true witch hunters. He sees all supernatural folk, including Nephilim and witch hunters, as being evil demons that need to be purged. He's running a secret underground effort to wipe out every single one and no supernatural folk is safe. Luckily, he doesn't know how many supernaturals reside in his town, but for how long?

Potion Making

Potions are easy to make. You first bring a water to boil and throw in the ingredients, each ingredient gives the potion a certain effect so multiple herbs can mixed in a single potion to give it multiple effects. To strengthen the potion or make it have a longer effect, a witch needs to add energy from his or her own body (doesn’t require a tool), the strength and length of the potion depends on how powerful the witch in question is. To target a specific person with the potion’s effects, a witch must throw in something that is connected to his or her target.

All the ingredients used in a potion must relate to the potion’s purpose and the potion maker must detail where the ingredient can be found. Some potions may require special steps in order to brew them. (Bonus points if it ties to real world witchcraft) Players can also make their characters research online for potion recipes but these run the risk of being fake or having an unwanted effect. Potions have a risk of backfiring only if the wrong ingredients are used or if the steps were done incorrectly.

All potions must be submitted to GMs prior to casting for approval.

Brew of Lucky Love

Ingredients: Dark chocolate (store bought fine), agar agar powder (store bought), and a red rose (clipped from a natural garden by hand)

Steps: Bring the water to a boil, then melt the chocolate and slowly add it in. Tear off petals from the rose and scatter them in the agar agar powder before dipping them in the concoction. Leave to boil for an hour.

How to Cast Brew: Adds a few drops of the liquid into any drink and then drink to attain desired effects.

Effects: Anyone under the potion’s effects now has a greater chance of attracting a partner. The brew lasts for a week and once ended anyone previously attracted to the caster due to the potion will now find them revolting.

Optional Steps: Hold a picture of the one you wish to attract close to your heart to have a higher chance of attracting them.

Rituals

Rituals are akin to potion brewing in the sense that the player can create their own rituals. It follows most of the same rules: ingredients have to relate to the spell’s purpose, must detail where to attain said ingredients if it's not obvious, and rituals must be submitted to GMs prior to casting for approval.

Rituals are different to potion brewing as ritual magic has a lot more freedoms and is allowed to be way more powerful, but it also has a much higher chance of backfiring even if the steps are followed perfectly.

Curse of Anguish

Ingredients: Target’s blood, urine, rusty nails, broken glass, black salt (salt mixed with ash and pepper)

Steps: First draw a circle with red chalk and mark sigils on the outside, spray the urine on the edges of the circle and then drop pins and broken glass on them. Mix in your target’s blood with the black salt and visuals them being tormented and in pain. Complete the ritual by spilling your target’s blood in the circle.

Effects: Target will go into spasms of pain for at least a whole day, crippling them from doing anything.

Mandatory Prerequisites: Must have 3 witches casting the spell at once

Optional Steps: Burn a picture of your target as the spell is being completed.

Wand Magic

The second weakest form of magic, simply involves moving a stick in specific patterns. Wand spells are very fast yet weak but are great for using when in a pinch. Wand spells are available online but are very hard to find. Sometimes a ring or an object the character holds dear could work as a wand, but picking up some random old stick off the ground will not work.

2) Play fair. Don't godmode, don't give your character meta-knowledge, don't attack everyone on site, etc.
3) Play nice. Behind these computer screens, we are all people, so please think twice before cursing someone out.
4) Everyone is allowed a max of 2 characters, but at the beginning of the RP I recommend everyone have 1.
5) Don't count on your character becoming a ghost if and when they die. Keep ideas for back up characters handy at all times.
6) All spells and potions must be submitted to the GMs before your witch character is allowed to cast them.
7) Be sure to get a post in at least once every week, day 8 will be your final warning and after that, you will be removed from the RP.
8) No one liners! Multi-para is encouraged but not required, getting at least one paragraph in will be good enough. Just make sure you have enough detail in your post to allow other's to work off it when making a reply.
9) Keep drama out of the OOC.
10) Decent spelling and grammar are a must.
11) Cursing, romance, and gore are all allowed. Just keep it PG-13.
12) If you're unable to meet the requirement of posting once a week, speak to the GMs for an extension before your timer is up.

Welcome to [REDACTED], New Orleans! A quaint little hidey hole, bring the kids! Talk to the local witch and get your insides turned into snakes!

Welcome, newcomer, or perhaps you've been living here for a while. Who knows, who cares? Point is, you know things, things normal people shouldn't know. People scoff at the idea of a vampire or a ghost, but you know better. Why? Because you're a vampire of course! Or perhaps a witch. Maybe an imp! The only limit is your imagination! (and the ignorance of mortals)

Oh those dastardly mortals, after eras of witch hangings and vampire huntings, you pleasant supernatural folk were forced into hiding. Forced to hide your fangs or your fur from prying eyes for fear of losing your life. Maybe you're mad at this, maybe you want an uprising, an era of magic and the paranormal where humans have to be the one afraid for their lives. But then again, you could be a pacifist, maybe you want to keep the mortals ignorant of your existence. Or maybe you're the in between, the weird one who doesn't care or the one who suffers from indecisiveness.

Whatever your opinion, you can't let the others win.

Hello and welcome to my very first RP! This RP, if you couldn't tell, will be mostly about just picking a side and duking it out. Chose from 8 different "classes", pick a side (remain hidden, pull a magneto and stage an uprising, or shrug your shoulders and just try to survive) and duke it out in the hellish world that is the Otherworld.

This will be a very open sandbox RP where players are free to do what they want and their only goal is to make their side the victor. The world will feature many creatures (which you can play as if you flesh them out yourself), powerful NPCs vital to your quests, eldritch items found around the world to give you an edge, custom spells and potions you can make yourself, and hours of my blood, sweat, and tears drizzled on top of the world for extra flavour.

Danielle placidly sat by the window sill, looking outwards as she periodically reached up to feel her face. Her fingers felt cool as they brushed against her sickly pale cheeks, or was that just the air from the AC? But still, despite not being able to feel anything, Danielle shuddered. This was for real, no amount of denial or pinching herself was going to wake her up from this unreal nightmare.

She swore she could still feel the poisonous concoction swirling in her, thrashing against her walls trying to come up but Danielle seemed to be incapable of puking and so the feeling remained as a sort of reminder of her stupidy. Danielle flicked her tired eyes at the old man who sat in that oversized chair right after he scared out another nurse, she groaned and slumped further while staring blankly at that man. Was this really purgatory or was this hell just with a smiley sticker on it? So many questions, so little answers.

Time slipped by Danielle's fingers like quicksilver, hours seemed to whizz by while seconds somehow felt like they dragged on for eternity. Danielle was slowly losing her mind as days went by and nurses scurried in and out. Danielle now spent her time passively looking at the world that went by her, feeling sicker every time she thought of everything she was missing out on. She sighed and slumped further.

Her interest was only ever so slightly piqued when she saw a woman walk in, holding what seemed like a folder. Danielle stared at her with the faintest sensation of curiosity as she whispered to the old man in the chair and then hurried out. Danielle watched her leave with dull lifeless eyes before sitting up, her posture still loose and heavily leaning on the wall.

She only barely stayed focused for long enough to hear some snippets of the briefing, but it basically all just distilled down to "obey or die". Danielle squinted her eyes at the man, almost as if to dare him while she continued to judge every inch of his body, she still had no idea what to think of this man. But nonetheless, Danielle nodded and agreed to the mission. She didn't care enough to rebel, she didn't care enough to ask questions, it was a miracle she cared enough to actually show up.

Aradia took placid steps next to Buck, following him in his steps even though she was unsure where they were going. "Oh I'm not a bodyguard, and even if I was, you wouldn't need one. Hadley thinks very highly of you," that was most likely a lie, but Aradia didn't mind buttering up her new partner a bit. "I'm sure you're very capable, but anyway as you were saying, that drug," she said while gliding over the stairs, "You know, if it's supernatural in nature, I might be able to identify it or at least some components of it,"

A bit of satisfaction sparked in Aradia, those negative energies that clung to her was slowly wafting away. Until, of course, Buck thought of asking that dreaded question. "Perfectly fine," she replied dully, trying to force any hint of emotion out of her tone.
