Basic CS:

Name:
Race:
Reason for Accepting King Jaren's Call/Backstory: (Backstory can be as vague as you want)
Military Background: (basically are you a guard)
Special Skills: (magical abilities kind of stuff)
Equipment: (Ropes, tools, bedding)
Weapons:

Note: Magic is very limited (Think level 3-5 in 3.5 D&D), if you guys want to be mages the most powerful thing you guys could probably do is toss a fireball (5 foot diameter) at somebody or throw them back 20 ish feet, but if you want to be more powerful than that PM me and we'll work something out. I would prefer if it there was only one spellcaster among you, but that's just me
There are many strange things in the Ancient Forest outside the walls of Triana City. There have been stories and rumors of monsters, fairies, demons, ghosts, and even dragons, but none who dared enter have returned alive. The city itself is a bustling metropolis, the jewel of the kingdom of Metgar, which is ruled justly by the noble King Jaren, Bringer of Peace. For the most part, the Ancient Forest is only heeded by small children and youth who dare their friends to step beneath its branches, but recently...Something more has arisen.

A small child strayed into the forest. The city guard was immediately dispatched to rescue the boy and he was quickly found. But one of the guards got separated from the others and was missing for days. He stumbled back into the city covered with wounds and begging for help. Once the clerics healed his wounds he was brought to King Jaren, where he told his tale of horror. The guard spoke of dark shadows that moved and trees that attacked. But the most surprising thing was the guard's tale of a wolf, a dark grey wolf that only appeared at night and watched over him. According to the guard, the wolf saved him from the most horrible attacks and led him to a stream of pure water, which he followed to the forest's edge. King Jaren was most disturbed by the guards tale for he, like many others, had dismissed the legends of the forest as old wives' tales. But the guards wounds were quite real and there was no sign he had gone mad.

After much thought, King Jaren decided that the wolf must have had a reason to save the guard. Perhaps, the king thought, The wolf is some sort of benevolent spirit. I must find a way to reach this wolf and talk to it. The forest may have some sort of treasures that I can use for the kingdom. So, the king began a search for brave, or foolhardy as some would say, souls who would embark on a mission to discover the wolf and any treasure the Ancient Forest may hold.

Alright guys, here's where questions shall be answered and whatnot. Since I'm the GM, I'll be playing random schmucks and NPCs and as far as your guys' races go, I'll take pretty much anything in a typical fantasy setting (dwarves, humans, elves, what have you) but they must be Good aligned races, so no orcs or kobolds or something. The magic is very limited, most people don't use it and mages are very rare, especially powerful ones.

Also the RP will begin in King Jaren's palace as you guys meet for the first time.
Cool! If @RolePlayerRoxas and @King Tai are in I'll go ahead and make the thread! I'll post a link soon, thanks guys! ^.^
I'd be up for that
@TheWindel Her last name is Draigen which means blackthorn (like the plant) in Gaelic ^.^ Do you want me to put that in the CS?
@Flynn Is my character okay? Also, thanks so much for letting me join!
Name: Naia Triskana

Race: Drow/Dark Elf

Age: 27

Appearance:

Reason for Joining the Outcasts: She was first a member of a tribe composed of elves and drow, but the drow were very badly mistreated and forbidden from learning any kind of magical or technological skills, essentially making them slaves to the so called "high elves." Naia did not approve of this and began teaching herself how to work devices after stealing a simple device from her "Mentor" at age 9. She quickly learned all she could from that and began stealing more and more until she was finally caught at age 19 and banished from the tribe forever. In the desert she quickly discovered she was not a good forager and would have died if the Outcasts had not found her. She soon worked her way up to a position of high respect in the tribe by fighting and fixing whatever she could.

Weapons: Naia mostly uses her fists but also has a dagger that was secretly passed down through her family. It is made of a very dark metal and is engraved with ancient Drow characters with a tiny jewel in the hilt.

Skills: Naia is an excellent leader and fighter, although most of the time those two overlap. She is also good at figuring out how things work on a basic level and using that knowledge to her advantage. Her greatest strength lies in her ability to read other people's emotions and guess how they will react to different situations, which she also uses to her advantage. Because of her nearly ebony skin she is able to hide in shadows very well and her natural Drow agility, as well as her practice with thievery, makes her a formidable and nearly invisible opponent when she wants to be.

Motto/Catchphrase: You fear the shadows, but to me they are kin.
Thank you! I must have done the math wrong when I replied :P
I'm interested. I'm gonna assume you want the CS here so here ya go.

Name: Mairead Draigen

Nickname: The Rose's Thorn

Age: 18

School year: Third

Gender: Female

Appearance:

Nationality: Ireland

Personality: Mairead is a tough girl. She doesn't like to lose and only barely tolerates competition. But she does know how to have fun and is often engaging herself in practical jokes and sarcasm. She is approachable but very closed off about what she is really thinking and feeling, which has the tendency to make some people think she's cold. She is very intelligent and spends conversations figuring out how to both attack and defend herself from whoever she is talking to, physically or verbally. She is rather witty and can come up with a solid one liner at a moments notice. Most of her words are laced with sarcasm which just makes it that much harder for people to really know what she's thinking. She can make friends easily but only a select few of her friends get close enough to begin to understand her. Most of the time she is quiet but has a small smirk on her face practically constantly.

She only shows really genuine emotion when she is around animals, which she loves dearly, especially dogs. She spends her free time writing in a journal that she never lets anybody read and listening to music. She is barely musical, she can sing on pitch and play the piano a little but that's pretty much it. She's never had a relationship, as far as anybody knows anyway, and likes rainy days in the summer because it reminds her of Ireland. Whenever she's asked about Ireland she goes into a nostalgic trance and starts talking about how wonderful Ireland is and how much she loves it. Her accent isn't that thick but it adds a lilting quality to her contralto voice that most people find quite pleasing to listen to.

Bio: Mairead comes from an ancient Irish family, dating back to the time of the Romans, that has always been connected to the blackthorn plant, as the name Draigen means blackthorn in Gaelic, with local legends surrounding the Elizabethan Draigen Witches. Mairead grew up on a small farm in the Irish countryside with her parents and her three brothers, one younger than her and two older. She never was able to sit still and often wandered across the fields and hills around her home for hours. For the most part her life was just fine until soon after her eleventh birthday when her little brother Seon was hit by a car. Seon spent the next four months in a coma before he finally died. Seon's death hit Mairead hard, she and her brother were nearly inseparable, and for a long time she didn't do anything besides sit in Seon's old room and miss him. Finally her grief gave way to anger and that was when she discovered her abilities. It took her a few years to learn to control them but once she did, she was nearly unstoppable in a fight with her older brothers. Her parents were very concerned for Mairead and afraid for their other son's lives sometimes so when she was invited to Riddle Academy they thought that letting her go would help her get over her little brother's death.

Weapon: Mairead uses two small daggers with Celtic engravings on the blade and small emeralds in the hilts.

Equipment: A small set of lockpicks, a thin cable with a hook on the end, and a flashlight screwdriver

Skills: Very flexible, agile, reads books quickly, is good at reading people, and is surprisingly strong

Ability: She can make thorny vines grow anywhere she wants to and then make them recede at will. It takes a lot of effort so if the plants have to break through rock it will take more time and leave her more drained afterwards. Sometimes the vines will have flowers or berries among the thorns depending on the season.
