Just got promoted, which will require me to move again. No longer looking for partners, but I will keep up what I have. Sorry to those I inadvertently ghosted, and to everyone else: good luck.

For Halloween, I'm going to turn off all the outside lights and pretend I'm not home.

Bio
1) Before anything else, those eighteen years of age (and under) need not apply. The older/more mature you are, the smoother our working relationship will be. My characters and stories often take turns that minors (and the faint of heart) may not agree with, and I will not censor myself.
2) Like many adults, I have a fulltime job and many obligations. I make time to write because it's what I love doing, and I RP because writing a story is funner with a friend. I like getting to know characters: their thoughts, their ambitions, the things that keep them up at night. More than that, I am intrigued by the situations they find themselves in. I think, masochist I must be, part of me even enjoys the torture of not knowing what happens next.
3) I keep real life and RP separate, and I tend to keep small talk to a minimum as a result. If you're looking for someone to chat with 24/7, I will probably disappoint you. That aside, I consider myself a friendly and mature guy, and I'm interested in hearing your thoughts and ideas as they arise.
4) I enjoy romance, but nothing over the top and not as the focus of a story. While we're on the subject, complicated and slow burn are more my style. Also, I am only interested in writing MxF relationships. I can play either.
5) I'm open to mature scenes only when it fits the story. Don't sweat it if you're not up to it. It's not the reason I'm here.
6) My RP limits are: no kids, no furries, no bestiality, no bathroom stuff. Let me know yours.
7) I will never harass you for a reply, and I won't freak out when things don't go a certain way. Respect (and a little bit of courtesy) will go a long way.
8) I am looking for advanced writing in the past tense and third person point of view. Two or three replies most weeks is my preferred pace, but quality is more important than quantity and I would be open to something less frequent if the right person and story came along.
9) You're more than welcome to pitch plots to me that aren't on my list, but I need character development, story progression, and IC conflict to stay interested. Slice of life is a no for me. Modern plots (without something extra) are also a hard sell.
10) The point of all this is to have fun. Shall we?
Thanks everyone for the messages. I feel it would be irresponsible and discourteous to keep accepting new partners/starting new stories due to the influx of messages I received, so for now I'm putting this on pause.

Ideas
This list will be updated as my interests change.
Fantasy
Arranged Marriage or Courtly Love (Low, Medium, or Medieval Fantasy, Historical Fantasy) - Think Game of Thrones (if fantasy) or something set in an alternate history on Earth. 1920s, medieval, renaissance, etc. I am open to almost anything except modern. Let's add in complications to spice things up.
The Outsider (Medium, High, Dark, Medieval Fantasy) - Think Lord of the Rings or Legend of Drizzt. This is a story in which a ranger or assassin that has been outcast from his own people finds himself, after a series of events, in a difficult situation: does he help his people at the risk of his own life, or does he let time decide their fate?
The Immortal (Modern Fantasy, Supernatural) - The victim of a curse, a werewolf, a vampire, a warlock, a demon summoned by a witch, an unconventional genie (etc.) has awakened in present day times only to find himself in the middle of a new conflict.
Small Town (Supernatural, Crime, Modern Fantasy) - A story that takes place in a small town that's hiding an old secret. For whatever reason, this town has seen a lot of new faces recently, and a series of grotesque and strange murders have people on edge. What secrets do we uncover? Who is behind these murders, and why? Supernatural elements very welcome.
Science Fiction/Modern
The Apocalypse (Horror, Apocalypse/Post Apocalypse, light Science Fiction) - It is the end of the world as we know it. There were no warnings, no events to precursor this, no signs that this was going to happen. Zombies (or any other creature straight out of a nightmare, spaceship, or science lab) now walk the earth. Humans have been dethroned and our cities and infrastructures are in ruin. I'd like to play this from the very beginning.
Project: New Colony (Futuristic, Science Fiction, Post Apocalyptic, possibly Horror) - Mankind has lived among the stars for two hundred years, having taken to sophisticated spaceships to escape the aftermath of a devastating nuclear war. Unfortunately, our time in space is at an end, with ships turning on each other and resources dwindling dangerously thin. We return to earth or find a habitable planet, and send a team composed of soldiers and scientists to check it out. Things go wrong.
The Superhuman/Super Soldier (Modern Science Fantasy, mild Dystopian) - Inspired by X-Men and Heroes. We were born with special and powerful abilities that set us apart from the common man and prevents us from leading normal lives. We're stronger and faster, unpredictable, and therefore we pose a real threat to society, which means we must be controlled. From the moment we show signs of being gifted, we're taken from our families and locked up in high security facilities where we spend our lives being studied and watched, with the talented (and malleable) of us being trained as super soldiers. Most of us live our entire lives within these white walls, never knowing how it feels to live outside a cage. One day, we escape.
The Immune (Horror, Apocalypse/Post Apocalypse, light Science Fiction) - The cities have already fallen, everyone we know is dead, and we've mostly come to terms with that. There are still zombies around (if we decided on that), but we've figured out how to deal with them and can handle them in smaller numbers. It's other people now that we have to worry about. Unlike everyone else trying to get by, you and/or I are immune to zombies. We don't turn when bitten or scratched, and they don't seem to sense our presence unless we want them to. Because of this, you or I have lived our post-apocalyptic life almost entirely alone, fearing humans the way they fear the monsters that roam the streets.
Thanks for your time. Shoot me a PM and let's have some fun.
I live in the North American West coast and I'm in my late twenties. I've been writing since the late 90's/early 2000's but took a hiatus a few years ago to focus on my career and personal life. I'm now at a stable place and find myself with a little bit of breathing room, and I'm looking for a mature (21+) partner to write with. Unfortunately, it seems my old stomping grounds no longer exist and I'm having an impossible time finding people with the same interests and style that I do.
My favorite genre is science fiction/science fantasy, but I'm a fan of post apocalyptic and could be convinced to try a modern fantasy plot. Fantasy is cool too. I'm not big on fandoms or slice of life, and I'm not looking for a group or game.
Thank you all for your time. I look forward to getting settled here.
