Scarlett - Baton Rouge - Liam, Katie, Tyler George "Wait.... Katie saw?" Liam's words hit Scarlett hard as her mind went back to the brief meeting with Tremblay's men and how Tina acted as if it was no big deal. Although it was all said and done and they were on their way to another place to call their shelter, it still made her mad that the kids were exposed to such things. Scartlett gritted her teeth for a moment as she let the anger flare and then cooled down. It wasn't the brightest idea to let ones temper get in the way when the situation was this dire. Their priority was to find shelter. She had to stay focused. Especially if she didn't want those men to catch up to them. Her temper flaring and thought process hadn't taken too long. It was just a mere moment of silence with the occasional questions being asked by George but Scarlett tuned them out. After she knew she could answer in a calm and collected voice, she finally spoke to Liam to reassure him that it was no big deal. "It's nothing to worry about anymore. Whatever was in there, we've left it behind us." She smiled at the young boy as they rounded a corner of a building and made their way down another street. "Um..... But I kinda don't know which way we came from after here." The young woman glanced from Liam to Tyler, silently asking for anyone to lead them the rest of the way to the hotel.
Samantha - Baton Rouge Mall - Abram It had taken them only a couple of hours to find a good place to scavenge, but in the mean time, Sam got to actually relax and have a semin-normal conversation. She like Abram. He shared many similarities and qualities that her dad had, although Abram was a few years younger, and that made her feel safe around him, which was something that was hard to come by in times like these. Once they had agreed on where they were going to go in through and went inside, an eerie feeling came over Samantha. It was the same feeling she had when they had barely found the house in the suburbs. "Why is it so empty?" Her voice was barely above a whisper. It wasn't like she wanted there to be any biters around, but still, where were they? Surely some people must have taken refuge in the mall during the outbreak? While pondering over her thoughts, she was interrupted by Abram speaking, going on about not being able to find clothes for the females. Sam laughed quietly and rolled her eyes, patting him on the arm and venturing into the store a bit more. "Typical dad. Don't worry, I got that part covered. They all seem to be around my size, if not a size bigger. The problem here is finding pants that aren't too long for me." As she spoke, Abram had gone to grab some duffle bags. Sam quickly skimmed through the shirts and grabbed two of each size up to a large of plain white shirts and some long sleeved dark colored ones. "This seems to be more of a porting store. We should probably head in and find stuff that wont wear out too easily." Samantha took one of the bags that Abram brought over and thanked him as she stuffed the shirts inside. "We should hit up a baby store. Those diapers back at the house wont last forever." She slung the bag's strap over her head and let it rest on the opposite shoulder to be able to move and keep her arms free. "Which way first though?" She had crept over to the front doors and was looking through the glass as she planned out their next move. How big was this mall? Best shot was to find the directory and go from there. Scarlett - Baton Rouge - Tyler, Katie, Liam, George Scarlett looked up as she heard the sound of shuffling footsteps. Sighing of relief, she made her way to the door and nodded at Tyler's suggestion. "Okay." She frowned as she looked at the elder lady with disappointment. How could such a nice lady get involved in such a horrible ordeal. She didn't question it though. Quietly, Scarlett took Liam's hand and began walking. "Liam..... Did I hear you say you saw something back at the apartment, or was that just me?" She looked at him curiously. Out of everyone here, he had the most reason to actually stay. He was just a kid and the apartment offered safety. He barely knew any of them yet he still tagged along.
Scarlett - Baton Rouge - Tyler, Katie, Liam Once the group had gotten back to the building, Scarlett wasted little time with the discussion and went ahead to grab some supplies in an old backpack she had managed to grab in their most recent run. She had ignored George's question as she went to the room and back. By the time she was set, Katie had apparently made her decision as she held Liam's hand and stood by her dad's side. "We should probably get going. I don't want those men telling Tremblay, or whoever, what happened back there, and then have a reason to come looking for us." It was clear in her own voice that Scarlett was still frustrated with the situation. She gave the kids an apologetic smile as she ruffled the hair on both of their heads. "We'll be fine once we get away from this place." She looked up at Tyler before turning around and making her way down the stairs. At the moment she didn't want to be anywhere near the Tina or Jace, or any of the others actually. She'd wait by the foot of the stairs, looking outside until Tyler and the kids were ready to go.
Scarlett - Baton Rouge - Tyler "George is his own man. I know it sounds rather cold, but I could care less what the others do. So far you're the only one that I feel I can actually trust." 'Even though you have your own secrets.' Scarlett thought to herself, but didn't dare bring it up at the moment. "If they want to stay, that's fine... I can't stay in that filth. I'll end up beheading someone." Scarlett gave Tyler a small smile, hoping to reassure him and nodded as he gestured after Jace and Tina. As they began walking, Scarlett traded her blade for her pistol, her eyes now locked on Tina's far off back. She wasn't sure what Tyler would make of it, but she didn't care. "Bullets are faster than blades", the young woman muttered, hoping he'd understand. She didn't intend to shoot, but after what had just happened back at the little meeting, she didn't want to take any risks.
Samantha - Baton Rouge - Abram Samantha listened quietly as Abram answered her questions and told her a bit about himself and shared a bit of backstory. She decided not to comment anything about the people he had been with in the past groups. Sometimes things were better left unsaid, and knowing how she was, she wouldn't want too many questions on her past either. Sam smiled at his comment on her being young and being able to outrun him, nodding in agreement before looking out the window. "I guess you're right. I'm kinda glad I ran into you and Jess. Out of all the people I've ever met, you guys make me feel comfortable. Not even in my last group did I feel like that." She didn't turn to look back at Abram as she spoke. She kept looking out and remembering the small details of the city. If they were to be staying here for a while, it would be best to start memorizing the area. Scarlett - Baton Rouge streets - Tyler After Tremblay's men had left the building, Scarlett stood motionless as she let the thoughts process, her eyes on Tina and Jace. She made no movement as the two left and still she stayed put even after Tyler exited the building. She could hear them talking outside but it mattered little to her as she wondered what exactly Tyler had done in his past. 'It's in the past, Scarlett. He did it for Katie. Let it go.' She tried to make herself think good of him but in the back of her mind she still felt uneasy. After a minute or two of silence, Scarlett walked out of the building, after the three. Tyler was now near Tina, with Jace standing in between them. Probably protecting Tina from an altercation. She was too far to hear what was going on so she began to walk over. "Okay. Just take her and leave." Scarlett frowned as she heard the words and stopped walking, staying a few feet behind Tyler. She watched as the two walked off and her eyes moved back to Tyler. "Jesus, I've fucked everything up. I'm-- I'm sorry." Scarlett shook her head and finally spoke after being quiet for so long, "No... No it wasn't. This doesn't have anything to do with you!" She was visibly upset but it wasn't directed towards the man in front of her. At the moment she didn't know what she'd do, but she knew that she wanted nothing to do with Tina and her group from that point on. "They're as bad as those thugs back there. You left that life behind and now they're trying to make this your fault so they don't look like the bad guys." Scarlett frowned and walked over, placing a hand on his shoulder, trying to do her best to comfort him. "It's not your fault..... but we need to get Katie out of that place before anything else happens. These men are unstable and if they wanted to, they could go in to that place, guns blazing, and take anything and everything."
Scarlett - Fitness Center - Tyler, Matt, and others I forgot Scarlett had kept her mouth shut as the men were near the bag and checked it. That man's comments had annoyed her, and once again she was glad her short tempered sister wasn't around. Still, her grip tightened around the blades' hilt to the point where her knuckles turned white. The fact that she still didn't know what was in the bag had her even more frustrated, but there was little she could do. Tyler had mentioned not letting the others do much talking but he wasn't helping now. What was he doing? The young woman glanced back to where he was and frowned as she noticed he had been paying little attention to the transaction. It didn't seem to matter though, for soon the main man who spoke took an interest in Tyler and began speaking to him as if he knew him. "Thomas?" Her voice was low as she asked the question to herself. She listened as the man spoke vaguely of what their past had been like and she looked at Tyler for answers. It made her upset that these men knew about Katie. They were dangerous and had horrid intentions by the looks on their faces. It made her stomach uneasy just to think that the young girl had been near anyone like them. Scarlett began to become more uneasy as the minutes went by. She didn't like the look on the man with no weapon. Who in their right mind would walk into a situation like this unarmed? She quickly tried to find something else to look at and turned to Tyler once more as he began to speak. Everything the man named Matt had said, Tyler confirmed, but elaborated. He seemed a bit different as he spoke, but Scarlett justified it by thinking that the mentioning of Katie made Tyler angry. As she watched his movements, she took a few steps closer to him, fearing that in any moment he'd do something irrational. If he was telling the truth, then he had nothing to fear from Matt. Of course, Scarlett now had questions of her own for him, but she decided to stay quiet and keep watch in case the situation escalated. Once she was close enough to Tyler, her eyes returned to the three men and Tina and Jace. She expected some sort of argument to come up later with Tina, but hoped for the best with the three men from Tremblay. The last thing she needed was to have a bunch of thugs after her again.
Samantha - Baton Rouge - Abram Sam had only given Abram a few opinions about where to go as he began driving, but other than that, she had kept quiet as she stared out the window. It wasn't until they passed the gas station when she finally decided to speak up. "So.... What's your story? I can figure that you have some type of training by the way you carry yourself. But, if I'm going to be spending some time with you and the girls, I think it's only fair if we all start to know who we are. Right now I kinda have to trust you... I'd like it better if I could trust you because I want to. Not because I have to. Am I making sense?" Samantha often found herself rambling about things when she had too many thoughts in her mind and didn't know how to say it all. She turned to look back at the passing buildings and slumped back into her seat, wondering how far Abram would be going. "How long have you been with Jess? Were you two in a group before this?" Her tone was a bit more serious now, her heart heavy with the memories of her own group.
Scarlett - Fitness Center - Tyler/Matt/Jon Scarlett didn't quite believe Tina. Part of her wanted to believe that she was telling the truth, but by the frustrated look Tina was getting from Scarlett's questions, she felt as if there was something else. Any hope for further interrogation was cut short as the doors they had walked in through opened. Scarlett finally stopped pacing and spinning her blade, her eyes running up and down each man that walked in. She hardly remembered that Tyler had mentioned about not letting Tina and Jace do most of the talking. She needed to know what was inside the bag now. The tone of voice that Tina had given her was like a challenge and Scarlett accepted it. "I agree." She spoke up, not looking at either Tina or Jace. "We should double check that everything is in there. Better safe than sorry, right?" Scarlett's voice held her typical cheeriness; yet she did not smile as much as she usually did. She merely put up a friendly façade and bluffed to be able to see what was in the bag. Her eyes cut quickly to Tina to see her reaction before turning back to the man. Whether Tina and Jace took this as a sign of disrespect, or lost whatever trust they had put in Scarlett, she did not care. Last time she checked, they had helped gather much of the supplies in the last runs and it should have been a mutual decision of what supplies to give away.
Scarlett - Fitness Center - Tyler "Tremblay." Scarlett repeated the name quietly as she looked away from Tyler to the other two. Once her assumptions were confirmed, she slowed down her pacing and took a deep breath to calm herself down but still kept spinning the long blade in her hand. She had just escaped the grasp of a murderous thug a few days ago, only to end up in the backyard of another. "What kind of stuff do you provide them with?" The young woman asked with a bit of suspicion and curiosity, her eyebrow raising as she gestured to the bag Tina carried. "You would think that these men would have everything they need."
**Scarlett - Fitness Center - Tyler** _"Try not to let them do all the talking."_ Scarlett nearly cringed at the thought. What was she supposed to say? Who was she going to be dealing with? She didn't even know what Tina had in her bag. Although a million thoughts and questions ran through her mind, Scarlett kept a straight face and she kept quiet. It wasn't long before they arrived at the building she assumed was the meeting spot and hesitantly walked in after Tyler. "They're not here yet?" The young woman nearly jumped at the sound of her own voice, not expecting to say the question out loud, nor sound so stupid since the fact had just been stated. She didn't like the feeling of not knowing. It was quite ironic since that was pretty much how their lives were now. Not knowing what was going to happen each day. Scarlett sighed and began pacing around the room, spinning the blade in her hand without thinking much of it as she glanced from person to person then around the room. "Is this how you keep the one group, that one guy had mentioned, at bay?" Scarlett might have been horrible with names but she didn't forget that the drugged man that had once pointed a gun at her had mentioned that there was a much larger group that ran these streets. Larger and more violent. She had been trying to put two and two together as they had made their way to the meeting point and it wasn't until she looked closely at Tina and Jace that it dawned on her. What if they sold them out? "Do you know how many of them will be coming here?"
