Accepted both, Raddum! And nah, traders are really common. Pallet Town is kinda like an island with the way it imports and exports a LOT of stuff.
@Raddum: We are. You make your own sheet. Reserved.

@Dawnstar: Reserved, and okay.
Name: Phoebe Jones

Gender: Female

Age: 15

Appearance: Phoebe is very pale, like most of the Station-raised kids of her generation. She's paler than them, though, from a lack of sun and genetics, so much that she's been repeatedly tested for anemia. (All tests came back negative, thank Arceus. Medicine is stretched then as is.) Her hair is a thick, curly mess of brown, which her mother keeps trying to tame but simply cannot, and so she ties it in a ponytail hidden under her hand-me-down fur hoodie. Phoebe has grey-blue eyes and prescription goggles that block out the strong winds and fix her eyesight. She's coming to the surface with a hiker's backpack stuffed to the brim with supplies, her six rusted pokeballs, and a damaged Pokedex.

Background: Phoebe grew up in Station 5 as one of the Station-raised generation. Her parents were brought there as young children, also used to life underground. Her dad does odd-jobs; painting, lifting supplies, working with the Pokemon herds, etc, while her mother chose to help the humans as a nurse/pharmacist, prescribing drugs and giving shots to the sick and wounded. Phoebe went to school in one of the many crowded "buildings" made of sheets of metal and plastic. She made lots of friends, both with humans and pokemon. On her fifteenth birthday, Phoebe went down to the local Pokemon shop and traded a bushel of corn ears for Twin the Girafarig. Quite a low price, actually. Girafarigs aren't good for much other than battling. No milk, not too much meat, and not too good for helping carry things. The shopkeep was all too ready to get rid of him.

Phoebe isn't quite sure what she wants to do as a career. She doesn't aspire towards the careers her school prepares children for: trader, doctor, farmer, ranch hand, council member, or breeder. She loves pokemon and people equally. She knows she wants to explore the world and train pokemon, but you can't make much money out of that.

Team:

Twin - Girafarig - Male - Level 5 - Inner Focus
Confusion - Tackle - Astonish - Odor Sleuth

Legendary Egg: Mew
Name: Artyom Chernov

Age: 15

Gender: Male

Background: Artyom grew up in Pallet Town, the tiny point of civilization in a giant desert known as Route 1. His father was a trader, constantly on the road, trading with Stations and trainers for much-needed supplies. Artyom worked on their family's farm instead of going to school, like many of his generation were required. He and his siblings grew the crops needed for their family, while his mother ran the house, fashioning clothes, making dinner, milking their Miltank, etc. When Artyom's birthday came, it was expected of him to leave and make riches out in the world, like the other trainers who left and came back with strong, useful pokemon, and all sorts of luxuries. Artyom wanted to leave and make a name for himself, so he was all too happy to accept six pokeballs, and take his pet Sandile along.

Team:
Sandy - Sandile - Female - Level 5 - Intimidate
Leer - Rage - Bite

Legendary Egg: Heatran
Alright! I've created the OOC here: link

Life was once perfect. The humans, the environment, and Pokemon were in perfect balance. Sure, many tried to tip the balance one way or another, but brave trainers always righted it. At least, as much as they could...Too many imbalances took the Surface from us.

Something went wrong with the Legendary pokemon. They came out of hiding and fought with everyone. Trainers, wild pokemon, even people without any pokemon fell to their angry attacks. The bravest of trainers investigated every possible lead--old Team Rocket tricks, the newer but still deadly Team Plasma, and imbalances with our neighboring dimensions. But, they found no conclusive evidence for any of their ideas. Finally, they decided to team up and take down the legendaries once and for all.

That was a huge mistake. Yes, every legendary was killed, and they could no longer attack us humans, but the balance of life was permanently tipped in the humans favor. Soon the weather grew out of control. People became sluggish, depressed shells of their former emotions. Wild pokemon violently attacked humans and pokemon alike. It became dangerous to go outside, so many stockpiled all the supplies they could get and holed up in their homes. Finally the government issued an emergency evacuation from the surface. A sandstorm as big as the Red Spot on Jupiter was due to hit Kanto in five days, and nobody could breathe in that. So, the government poured all of its money and resources into the Magnet Train line. Those subways stretch over every region, and can hold over three hundred thousand people. With everyones stored supplies and the governments money, the population of every region could live there. And, we did! For thirty-five years we lived there.

And now, in Station 5, or Neo Saffron, the first Station-raised generation is ready to go to the surface. Most trainers like to make their Journey around the surface, scrounging for supplies, rare pokemon, and any treasures left, before they return to the station and officially start their life as an adult. Trainers have to be fiveteen to get their license, as wild pokemon are stronger than before, and life can be brutal on the Surface. Only experienced trainers who were old enough to remember life Before the Sandstorm have gone up now. They say Nature is still brutal, and the legendaries are still gone. There are bandits, angry wild pokemon, and crazy storms. But, there are also supplies left free for the taking, migrating tribes, and traveling merchants with all sorts of rarities, like chocolate and pokemon eggs. It's a true adventure just waiting for us to experience it!
NOTES ON THE WORLD

This roleplay is more gritty than the anime and games. More like the manga, if you guys have read it.

This section will grow as I answer questions and put that info here.

Be nice, obey the GM, site rules, blah blah blah.
I'll set the limit on characters to two for now. If we have a hard time recruiting more members, than the limit will be upped to four. This is so that each legendary will be chosen.

Okay, here's the first post/plot summary/whatever I used on another website. The basic idea is that each character gets a legendary egg (from a list of legendaries that have to do with nature. Sorry, no Genesect.) that will hatch much farther on in the series. We're all new trainers with one pokemon, five extra pokeballs, and a pokedex. (Unless you're from the Surface, in which case you'll have to loot supplies or trade for them with the travelling merchants.) On the way to getting/hatching the eggs, we will fight wild, aggressive pokemon, bandits, Team Rocket (I'm planning to have them be a focal point in the plot), and do the regular "catch pokemon, battle for badges, etc."

I want this to be a more serious Pokemon. Pokemon will get hurt, trainers will be attacked as well, there may be serious injuries, etc. The worst thing that can happen is not a fainted pokemon, but a dead one.

I have a lot more ideas, too, but they're mainly details. Interested?
Eeeeh, possibly. I need to know more about this society. Is this like the Mystery Dungeon series, or from your own mind?
