> Maybe you should. If we're mainly gonna be role playing in Austria or somewhere else, perhaps a simple terrain map would suffice. Yes, I didn't mean to make a terrain map of entire Europe, it's too much work :D just the area around us and I will try to expand it as our kingdom expands. But even this is a lot of work and the hardest part would probably be adding capital cities and positioning them properly. Anyway, I think as far as the map goes it's a nice progress. I'm going to finish that and work a bit on the concept of economy.
![enter image description here](http://oi57.tinypic.com/ic1ili.jpg "enter image title here") Almost done with the political map. I plan on adding capital cities and names of countries and that should be it. I've considered adding rivers but I think I should leave it for terrain map. PS: some HRE states are bigger than they should be, but I didn't want to add small irrelevant counties so i just made the most notable ones bigger.
Glad you guys like it :) I can't take the credit for the blank map, though. I found it on another forum. I did change up some borders but most of it is just coloring in :D anyway, I can share the blank map if anyone wants it for future projects. Detailed maps of Europe with a lot of administrative divisions are hard to come by, apparently.
![enter image description here](http://oi59.tinypic.com/e88sup.jpg "enter image title here") Here's a map of what I've been working on. Basically, I've outlined our kingdom with a black line and also outlined the historical Austria in 1400AD with dotted lines. Our kingdom is the purple one, the brown one west of it should be duchy of Franconia, the green big one to the south is Austria that survived, tiny brown one under Austria is duchy of Carniola, lime green one west of Carniola is county of Gorizia, yellow above it is duchy of Salzburg and the farthest to the left colored in red is duchy of Tyrol. Note: I made a mistake that I just realized. Salzburg was never part of Austria until 19th century. PS: This is just the first step and it looks a bit bland so I will work on that and give a more detailed look of our kingdom. I have a full map including northern Africa, Asia Minor and parts of Russia as well to fill out and I'm using Euroatlas' 1400AD map as a reference.
Lol, I am sorry, I didn't expect this many people showing interest this fast. Now, I am all ears as far as ideas go, but until I get some free time I don't dare to go too deep into it. I am, however, researching for future reference in the meantime so I'm not entirely unemployed.
> Surely we have enough people by now? I think the interest is satisfying for a start, however I'm currently busy with exams so I have to postpone the RP for a week or two either way. I have an important exam on Wednesday and another one on 26th, after that I should be able to do a great deal with organizing and writing by the time those two weeks are up. Stay tuned and pitch in if you have any ideas. I will gladly consider implementing them so PM me if you think of anything interesting.
@rush99999 of course. @Iluvatar Yes, most likely I will split up Austria and make several duchies out of it like Franconia, Tyrol, Carniola, etc. while also keeping duchy of Austria as a successor with the area around Vienna and our realm would be in the north of the historical duchy of Austria bordering the new duchy of Austria to the south, Bohemia to the north, Franconia to the west, and possibly Hungary to the east. But this is subject to change, of course. I've also considered splitting up Bavaria or maybe even Brandenburg. Suggestions are welcome.

Advice is always welcome. > > Fate* > Eh, malapropism. > But the RP died in part because we put too much reliance on one person to post to move it forward. And when he did not deliver - despite our on-site and off-site demands - it died. We relied too much on a guy who had too much ADHD to commit for long. > > The fun-bit: he really wanted to see this RP came up and was heavily involved in the planning process. But bailed out and started complaining about the usual faire when it comes to him writing. > > > > I see. Well if it comes to that, where I no longer am able to Roleplay for whatever the reason, I am willing to pass on my role to whomever is willing to take on the challenge. I will give all the information to that person.
@Iluvatar you'd be secluded from everything else since most of the Roleplay would focus on internal politics. Most external coverage would come from bordering lands while some important battles and events from rest of the known world would just be mentioned. @Chapatrap I will check out how their RP went when I find some more time. Perhaps I can see a pattern of negligence and attempt to make my RP avoid similar faith. Advice is always welcome. Anyway, I won't require anyone to post more than I myself can manage. Hopefully people will be able to post once per day or two. I've thought about having one day last two months and every six days I would make a sort of report on the kingdom's standings in military, economy, population, etc. so 3-5 posts between the reports is quite enough, I believe. Even 1-2 posts I will tolerate if there's a writer's blockade or if the RPer is busy elsewhere. But I expect those that are able to reply as soon as they can in order to not stall the RP. I appreciate the interest, that's three people already in first three hours. Very good news, indeed :)
@gowia First of, thank you for taking your time to review my idea. As far as help goes, I will take you up on that offer in case more people show interest. For the meantime, if you have free time and wish to contribute then perhaps thinking about potential events that could be interesting would be appreciated. I will be expecting those in the inbox. I am currently busy with exams so I might be slow on replying for the meantime so bare with me :)
