Veronica was focused on the moment, everything seemed to happen in slow motion. Her covered arm grabbed the kicking leg and used it to push her to the ground. She hobbled back, making sure she was only close enough for her own power to maintain effect.

Veronica waited until Jen got into range and did the levitation move again, except this time, altering between back of the feet and front of the feet. Altering until her balance was lost, then turned her body so the uncovered arm was away from Jen and did a quick jab deep into her solar plexus and backed off.

Veronica will pass out as soon as the adrenaline stops, you should remember that Veronica is imagining she is protecting right now, full mama bear mode. And at this point, Jen must be over heating, all that work plus extra energy is not sustainable.

No. Jen would be too focused on trying this finishing move. Veronica used her other fist to deliver a hard upper cut to the jaw followed by a swift kick, with her good leg, to the chest. She now also began channeling her own body heat into Jennifer. This was the breaking point, all of her energy was going into keeping Veronica in the fight and getting Jen to go down.
