I understand your concern and one of the reasons I asked. I don't want my character to be seen as a powerful magic wielder either, she is most definitely not a master, but her culture is very much entwined with the use of magic. It will hopefully be clearer in her CS.

I love this! I'm very much interested to see how this RP develops. I already have an idea for my character and where she comes from.

Is magic an accessible skill in this world, and if so is it sociably accepted or perceived as evil? An example of magic -- my character's people have learn to master the magnetic energy of the planet. They built settlements in the jungle when a tribe of them came into contact with Ruse entities. Given to mysticism, they built magnetic temple-cities centered around the worship of the Ruse. They have passed master in the manipulation of magic magnetic fields which they use in the fabrication of weaponry and buildings. (Additionally, these people are lovers of nature, their society's three governing principles are Wisdom, Spiritual Accomplishment, and Respect of Nature. And their garments are made of bark, oil, resin, and fiber, which look like plants and flower leafs sown together.)

Hi,

Formerly know to a few here as Elaftheria. After the horrible incident that left us without our favorite RP site, I ventured off to other RP sites, but none have surpassed my experienced here. And though I've tried to come back here several times since, I've not been able to commit to anything due to real life events taking precedence. Finally, life seems to be slowing down for me and I find myself with more free time to kill. So, I've come home again.

I'm interested. I've been playing STO for the last couple of months, its been so much fun. I want to try and create a roleplaying character, I think your roleplay will help me create a good backstory for one. If you are still accepting I would like to go with any position under science officer, so medical or researcher, even counselor if you allow it. I really want to roleplay an original alien race from the Delta Quadrant but human is fine if nothing else.

Yes, absolutely, you can play detectives and special agents. Both types, grease or legit. Feds especially - In pre-Prohibition days, Mafia-feared Feds were agents of the Secret Service, the Federal Bureau of Narcotics and the Postal Inspection Service. During Prohibition, they were agents of the Treasury Department. After Prohibition, the FBI gradually - and reluctantly - turned its attention toward the Mafia.

Right! There are no women in the Mob, none that hold rank or have any say in the Family business, it is a testosterone dominated organization back in the 1930s. However, in modern times there are female "Boss" in the Italian Mafia, Maria Licciardi comes to mind. And there are some hard core vixens in the Mexican Mafia also. I added Mob Molls so that female players can join our roleplay. But if everyone agrees, I may allow a wife, a sister, or mother of the leaders to have influential roles in decisions, though it will be up to the player to react on their own decisions.

I'm going to work on the official OOC and write up a proper intro with rules. In the meantime, those of you really interested can work on your character sheets. Once you have them, PM them to me so that I can look them over.

Nickname: (Most mobsters are given nicknames by the family, or more often by the press and cops, which sometimes results in them having more than one nickname. However, to keep it simple, choose a nickname that best fits your character and tell how your character got the name in the bio.)

Appearance: (I prefer description to pictures, but you can add a face-claim if you like. And only RL images please.)

I want to see your writing style here, and as much information about your character as possible.
