Name: Alexis 'Alex' Fletcher

Birthdate: March 14, 2990 ( 20 years old )

Backstory: Alexis was born in South Carolina along with her brother Chance on a small cotton farm. She spent her childhood days helping out on the farm and her father even taught her how to shoot a rifle. Her favorite rifle became her father's Mosin but for more utilitarian purposes use used a much smaller .22. It was essential to keep the small animals out of the crops and she became quite the shot. Not long before it all began her parents got divorced with her father and Chance staying on the farm and her mother and she left for California.

Alexis wasn't happy with leaving the farm that she had grew up and worked on all her life. During the outbreak she hasn't heard anything from her father or brother besides one phone call. Her mother had been killed while at working as a nurse in a hospital recieving the first of the ill in the area. Since it has seemed the entire world has gone to Hell. Alexis has surivied relativily well as she has reverted back to her days on the farm doing what she knows best to survive. She only keeps a 9mm pistol, a pocketknife and a small backpack of scavenged supplies on her person. She hopes to one day find an old Mosin just like she used to use with her father. Not only would it be quite the keepsake, but ammo was always plentiful.

About Ky'ama

Ky'ama, literally meaning 'red beauty,' was a name given to her by her father for her very prominent red hair. Ky'ama was born in a smaller settlement outside the Elven Capitol called Thoronsirre. Her family wasn't wealthy, but nor were they poor. She had a comfortable life in her little home far away from the worries of the larger world. Yet, news would always reach her ears. The proximity of the Capitol meant news traveled fast to her home but it all seemed like it was worlds away.

By the time she was just about to come of age the news of the Elders constructing an academy prompted her parents to send her. They greatly feared the threat the prophecy foretold. By such a time Ky'ama had shown a great interest in magic but had never been trained formally, or informally in its use. Unlike most her kinfolk she had no talent with the bow which put her at odds with many of her peers. All this wasn't much of a bother to her, however. Rather quiet by nature she is notorious for her love for reading and books and keeps few friends. She has found the academy as a great opportunity, rather than a forceful enlistment made by her parents on her behalf. One day she hopes to become an instructor.

Appearance:

Emergency came up. I'll have it tomorrow, sorry!
Cool, I'll get a sheet up tonight. ^_^
I would be interested in an archer. I can make a sheet tomorrow if this is still deemed alive. Also, question. What ages are we looking at?
"Alright, be sure to use the knife if you can."

She looked over at him as he breifly studied a map of the area.

"Er...that way," he said.

Although his words lacked confidence she had no choice but to trust him. She wasn't familiar with the area and couldn't offer any help.

Jay quietly slipped over the side of the roof and back down the fire-escape and to the ground. She followed him down. Each step was quick, but carefully made as her eyes scanned the allyway for any threats. Just as she reached the ladder she saw Jay waiting for her to desend. It was a sweet gesture she had to admit.

Her feet hit the ground and they started off in a strong stride. The area was silent, not a single sound hit her ears, even the sound of their steps were silent. Alex gripped the rifle strap tightly forcing the weapon firmly against her back in an effort to keep the noise to a minimum.

Jay stopped at an intersection or moment. Before she could ask the matter he made a choice, left. She sped up her stride a bit and come up beside him as they went.

"If you don't mind me askin..." she trailed off for a second, "What happened to your sister?"
"I'm Jason, er, Jason Cortez. Jay's good- basically anything's good, just let me know what you're gonna call me, though."

She watched as he clearly got ruffled in his actions and his words began to ramble. She bowed her head slightly as she tried to hide her grin. He seemed to notice and quickly apologized.

"Sorry, It's been a while since I've been able to talk to someone. I'm a bit bottled up; I'll quiet down soon.”

He gave her a surprisingly soft handshake. It wasn't at all what she was expecting from such a large man.

“You'll want somethin' waterproof to cover that...”

She nodded. “We can worry about it when we stop next. We need to get off this roof or there might not be a next time.”

“Hey, you got a quiet weapon?”

She nodded and patted her left hip just under her shirt. “A knife,” she replied simply. It's military-like sheath attached to her belt very much out of place on her person. Yet, it was the only one she could find and appearances hardly mattered nowadays.

She watched as he walked around each side of the building, checking for threats.

“I'm ready when you are.”

She couldn't agree more. It was time to leave. She looked over the edge of the building. All and all, it seemed relatively clear.

“Lead the way,” she said with a nod, “I'll follow you.”
Thats cool. I've never been to a con but always wanted to go.

Hubs and I always said if we did go we'd dress up as Ash and Misty. If we ever have a baby, Pikachu.

What can I say? We're nerds. xP
She couldn't help but allow a small smirk appear on her lips as he mentioned people being crazy.

“Yeah,” she agreed.

She watched as he sat down, catching his breath after their little race. She felt his dark eyes peer over her. She tensed slightly.

"...You aren't infected, are ya? I mean, I don't think you are- you ran too good- but I gotta ask.”

“No,” she said simply, “I'm clean.”

The guy spoke about missing a stray zombie, the one she remember she fled from while he was perusing her. She felt foolish. She knew damn-good-n-well that they alert more if they see someone, but she also lacked any real skill with her knife. She could always have shot it, but that would've been worse. More importantly, he spoke of a mini-mall. This got her attention and she really began to listen intently.

Supplies is what she needed, well, it seemed what both of them needed. Then the question came.

"Hey, ya wanna go with me?”

Alexis thought back to when the last time she heard those words from a guy's mouth. It was summer, two, maybe three years ago. She remembered it was at school and Brian, yes, Brian Young asked her to goto the dance just like that. He was a nice guy, a bit rough around the edges but so were most the guys in the area. Chance, her brother, though, wouldn't have that. He was far too intimidating a man to allow anyone to be around his little sister.

Smiling at the memory as if it was a fairy tale she had just recalled she returned to reality. The reality was now the decision wasn't as simple or as pleasant as weather or not to goto a dance. It was life or death. She could place her trust in him, and he could turn on her, or use her as a sacrifice if things went south. It was hard to tell. She weighed her options for several silent moments as he rephrased his words in an act she could only attribute to nerves.

“Very well,” she finally said as she stood up.

She extended her left hand, her right hand still wrapped in a bloody tshirt, “Alexis. My friends used to call me Alex.”
