Why not show the world all the positive things about your life instead of dwelling on the negative?

I'm about to do the same thing!
Posts will delay from now until tomorrow.
As a rather arrogant figure entered her shop and strode right up to the counter, surpassing at least two other customers, Aiana scoffed at him (@TaroMaster4) and said with a rude undertone, "Excuse me, sir, but you're going to have to wait for me to tend to my other customers." She glared down at the knife on the counter and slid it back toward the man.

She turned her attention back to her current customer and said, "I'm afraid the very cheapest I'm willing to go is 40 gold pieces. Adamantite is even more." Putting her hands on her hips, Aiana thought to herself before saying, "You could always go and help out my mining crew to gather some adamantite. It could take up to two days to get all that we'd need, though. But, I could cut down the price. It would normally be 100 gold pieces, but if you helped with gathering the material, I could afford to cut it down to 60."

As the large orc walked through the front door of the shop, she couldn't help but feel a bit uneasy, but told herself that it was wrong of her to feel that way. She sent him a wide smile, silently welcoming him to her shop.

As if suddenly having a revelation, she said to her customer, "It won't be the type of legendary weapon you're thinking of. It will be an amazing work, if I can brag about my skills, but it won't have any magical elements. Unfortunately, I'm not much of a practitioner of magic."
It was immediately after setting up the sign beside the forge that Aiana scurried back into the shop. As she began combing through the mess behind the front counter, but soon forgot what she was looking for when she glanced up and saw the terrifying face of an orc (@King Tai) pressed against the glass of her shop. Startled, she flinched and gasped, pressing a hand to her chest. A nervous laugh was squeaked out of her, and she made a small wave toward the orc.

Aiana straightened herself up when what looked like a customer (@ZayZe) focused on a mission walked through the door. She stepped up onto the raised platform so that she seemed to appear the man's height as she stood behind the counter. Placing her hands on the surface of the counter, she folded her fingers over one another and listened as the man spoke, eyeing another man who'd just walked through the door in dull garments (@The Harbinger of Ferocity).

"Well, you're in search of something..." she drew out the word and pressed a finger to her lips in thought, noting the man who'd approached behind her customer (@Gentlemanvaultboy). Finally, her face lit up, "Adamantite!"

A dwarven man with a grumpy, sunken face walked through the door, and as soon as he did, Aiana said, "Freddie! Do we have any adamantite? Refined or unrefined?"

The man grumbled under his breath, turning on his heel and walking out. Aiana smiled at her customer as she waited, lightly tapping her fingers across the counter. When the dwarf returned, he said, "Fresh out."

"Is that so?" she sighed, looking solemnly at her customer. "I know we have mithril, which is the hardest material we've got right now, since we don't have adamantite. Adamantite is the most expensive, but also the best in quality. Mithril barely matches up, but on the bright side, it is cheaper." She smiled widely at him again, "What do you say?"
Going to make my final post for today. I was out a lot today, so hopefully I'll be quicker tomorrow. :)
Hands on her hips, Aiana inspected the other dwarves and humans scurrying about, performing tasks for her. It made her feel very accomplished and proud. Yes, she nodded, these are my family.

She wanted her family to grow. This thought almost saddened her, but she didn't let it go noticed on her exterior. Quickly, she slid into the blacksmith building and rummaged around behind the front counter. She pulled out a "Need Workers" sign and flyer, sticking the flyer on the inside of the shop's window, and then sticking the sign out in front of the forge.
The sun was making its rise above the horizon, though Aiana had been awake long before it, preparing herself for the day. Now, as the ball of fire began to warm the cool morning if only slightly, she hummed to herself as she loaded refined ores into a bag by the outdoor forge. Though it was her business, she had workers who did most of the blacksmith work for her. She was more of a manager now that things had taken off. However, she always wanted to keep busy.

One of the best things about her business' location was that most of the main equipment was used outside. Inside the shop, she sold common ores, weapons, armor, and other blacksmith tools. Outside was where the armor, weapon, and tool making happened. So as she worked, she was able to hum quietly to herself and watch people pass by, occasionally nodding to her as they did so.
The Girl With The Phoenix

Chapter One
1.

Vera Woods was only thirteen years old when her mother, Becca, shot and killed her father in the middle of the night. The young, blonde girl was stirred from her fitful sleep by the sounds of her parents arguing.

She’d lain in her bed across the room from her little sister’s for quite a while before she heard the sound of a gun being fired once. Motionless, she barely dared to breathe. She looked in the direction of Penelope, her sister, and saw two blue eyes staring back at her through the thin film of darkness. Both sisters jumped, startled, when a second gunshot broke the eerie silence.

At the end of the room, the oldest son, Matthew, had long since woken and was now descending the top bunk of the bed that he shared with his little brother, who was just a year older than Vera. As he passed the girls’ beds, he stopped when he saw that they were not asleep either.

“You two stay in here. Vera, don’t let Penny come out,” he whispered.

Vera nodded, sliding out of bed and crawling quietly across the floor over to Penelope’s bed. The seven year old girl was trembling with fear, and so Vera wrapped her arms tightly around her. Matthew opened the door softly, then disappeared into the living room. The sisters waited for their brother’s return. It was quiet in the house. The kind of quiet that makes a person’s stomach twist with knots of fear. The sisters, holding each other, jumped when Matthew came back into the bedroom.

He seemed to ignore Penelope and Vera both, instead walking straight to the bed that he came from. He shook his younger brother, Dillon, until he woke up. Dillon was only a year older than Vera, but seemed much more mature for his age. He woke with a grumble, and Vera wondered how he’d slept through such a violent cacophony of noise.

“What’s wrong?” asked he, looking up at Matthew.

The eldest Woods child bent down and spoke in a hushed voice to his brother while Vera tried to listen to what he was saying. She caught words like, “dead,” “neighbors,” and “phone.” What she was almost positive had happened was something that she wanted to escape her thoughts. As she held her sister tighter, her mind began thinking at a thousand words per second. Matthew passed by the bed again, exiting the room, and Vera looked in Dillon’s direction for answers. He was sitting on the edge of the bed, staring at his hands.
