EDIT: OOC is up!
I’m looking to start a Prohibition-Era styled RP, set in Chicago in the 1920’s. Gangsters, bootleggers, flappers, speakeasies, jazz, sex, liquor – you get the idea.
First off, I would like to state that this would not be 100% historically accurate – for ease of role-playing. You don't need to be a history buff to participate as I don’t want to make everyone keep looking up information each time they write a post. That being said, I would expect everything to comply with the times (i.e. no mobile phones, etc…) -- if you would try to be as accurate as possible, it would be a plus. This would be set in America in the ‘20s – but without the historical gangsters we know, we will create our own/change names if necessary.
Ideally, I would like to include rival gangs -- working for turf, money, and people. You would not necessarily have to be a gangster - as many people could work for and with others. Femme fatales and flappers working people for information, musicians gleaning conversation from patrons, barmen, bootleggers -- the list goes on and on. The only type of character I'm not terribly interested in including is a detective or operative - as I don't want this turning into a detective story.
I intend for this to be high-casual - but depending upon the interest, I may move it to advanced. I'm looking for people who will write with detail, decent grammar, and an element of realism. (No vampires, werewolves, superpowers, etc...) It is advisable that you be comfortable with some mature themes.
Aside from that, I'm very open to suggestions and would like to find someone interested in helping me further develop a story and plot.
If you are interested, please post so I can get a feel for how many might participate.
