It was a hot day, again. Patrols would not be out in a desolate place like this anyways. The burning rays of light in this junk desert made the chances of meeting anyone drop to almost zero.
Sig didn't feel like walking, especially right into the sun which was shining in his face. Instead he lied down on top of Spike, who was walking pretty fast for a big turtle, and started sunbathing. Spike's steps and the heat made Sig very drowsy and was very clise to falling asleep.
He set off a few days ago because of an uncontrollable urge. He had no idea where he was going, nor why. But it was still better than spending time with people. People, Sig learned, are horrible. They lie, steal, hurt... and kill. Their selfishness is such that they could betray their own family for their ill gains. Sig had enough of it. If he were to see another hhuman being now...
Spike slowed down and Sig heard his friend's booming, deep voice in his head. There was someone ahead of them. The sun shone in their eyes so it was difficult to tell. If they were guards or some kind of robbers, Sig would make them regret ever having met him.
"Lets show those bastards the Earth we're made of!" Said Sig challengingly.
Without warning, Spike dove into the ground as if it was water, with Sig still on his back. They disappeared from sight and erupted out of the ground a couple of metres away from the group by the fire, Spike got on his hind legs to show his full height, and Sig stood there next to him with a challenging look in his eyes.
However his expression quickly changed to reflect his confusion. One of the weirdest groups of people was standing in front of him. All of them were different; different clothing, different expressions and a general different "feel". Then Sig noticed the creatures as well.
"Huh?" Was all he could say.
