Name: Alex "Yahtzee" Stone

Personality: Alex is almost always bubbling with enthusiasm in every situation even in battle. On the few occasions that he does lose his upbeat personality he instead becomes bored and hyperactive. He is distressed by criticism and is constantly seeking other people's approval all the while trying to convince himself that he can handle anything.

History: At the age of thriteen Alex left home to join up with a traveling circus. His home life hadn't been bad but it had been boring and he found it difficult to cope with mundane everyday life. At the circus he adopted the name "Yahtzee" (which he uses to this day) and trained under one of the Fire Tamers there and excelled immensely and soon the circus began to use his fire show as a central attraction. Several months before present day a horrible accident occurred and he became completely doused in oil and fire. Despite this however he felt no pain and instead felt perfectly in control. The people loved it and word got out quickly and the old Fire Tamer took him aside and warned of the dangers he would be facing soon. From then on Alex left making his living with his showmanship and earning just enough to survive as he traveled alone from place to place. Once Alex was trying to push his abilities to create shapes and his flames condensed into a small dragon the he named Salamnder.

Feel for the element: Alex treats his ability like an art and is constantly using fire to create small shapes for entertainment however when it comes to actual battle he surrounds himself with his element and uses it to boost his own physical attacks.

To answer your questions in the order you asked them:
Either
At least once a day
And whichever turns out to be more convenient. As I have said I am new and still need to experiment. For now I'll go with whatever is easier for whoever I am doing the roleplay with.

Hello everyone!

I have only recently joined this site and I have plenty of experience not roleplaying. As in I am indeed a novice in this particular art. I have looked through many of the threads to get an idea of what to write here and one thing that I'm sure you'll want to know is how much I can write per post and quite frankly your guess is as good as mine. I have tried my hand at writing before but I have never really roleplayed before so I don't know if I will be able to write as much as you would like but I can promise I will try to match what you write. As for my quality I suppose that's subjective. I can give you a sample if you so desire but beauty is in the eye of the beholder and all that.

Now I understand that by openly declaring my new status I limit the number of people willing to RP with me significantly however bear in mind that I can't improve without help wich also means that if you do want to do an RP with me then I'll need criticism so be able to actually give it where needed. That's about all I can really say for now though so onto the main reason for this thread!

My favourite kind of setting is a modern fantasy one involving all kinds of magic and mayhem. :)

I've never really been one for high fantasy but I do enjoy under certain circumstances and the same can be said for sci-fi.

I really enjoy many anime and have watched loads but I will only put down a few that seem like they might be fun to RP with:

Fairy Tail
Soul Eater
Fullmetal Alchemist
Darker than black

I won't play as a canon character and all I really intend is for those fandoms to provide a solid setting and story events rather than any actual characters.

If anyone has read the Jim Butcher books (Codex Alera or Dresden Files) I would love to do an RP in that kind of setting as well as His Dark Materials from Phillip Paulman.

I also would be willing to do an RP set in the universes of the following series/movies:
Supernatural
Misfits (Really enjoyed this so if anyone wants to do an RP I am all ears here!)

So I'll add more to everything here as well as venture out a few plots of my own as I start to get more comfortable with everything so this is by no means a final production!

Hello everyone reading this hastily typed out intro post thing. As a human who has read the title I am assuming that you have figured out, from the title, that I am a newb to this whole role-playing shtick. I am really eager to get stuck into everything here and despite being a new to roleplaying I have started trying to write several times before but most ideas don't seem to stick. Hopefully writing with someone else will make it easier. If anyone has any advice for me I would greatly appreciate it even if it is just one or two pointers or tips. Well I guess for now that's it. I greatly look forward to getting more involved as time goes on!
