Zack barely listened to what the man had to say. Sure, he got the gist of it, but he was much more interested in other things. Like that awesome looking arm. Did it get tired? How did he control it? Some kind of neural transmitter to hydraulic pistons? Or maybe it was some kind of bio-metal that acted like normal muscles. Maybe it was simply that he manipulated it with magic.
Shaking his head, he calmed himself down. He had to stop doing that. Maybe directing his energy towards mastering different kinds of magic could help him with that. He remembered Lady Violet saying something about the strength of the magic being dependent on physical and mental strength. He was sure that physically, he'd have little trouble with it... but mentally he was never in one place for very long. If the classes here didn't teach him how to focus, he didn't know what would... and that would mean he'd have to depend more on the physical aspect of it. Maybe the new medic would be willing to help him with improving his physical strength as well? He'd been through the training camps and had served for 17 years, right? It wouldn't hurt to ask... but first, he had to find a way to stay afloat in the classes without letting his weak concentration get in the way. Maybe Lady Violet could help with that? She could read minds, for crying out loud!
Jack got up from his chair and walked towards Lady Violet.
"Hi. I haven't actually introduced myself to you... Cus of the mind reading and all... But anyway, I'm Jack Cypher. I uhm... Have a pretty important question for you... I never really had any sort of attention span... Is there a way to either improve my focus or wield magic dependant mostly on the physical strength of the user? I just don't want to fall behind in case things don't come to me as quickly as other students learn."
