Noraneko is a little bit of a tsunedere. On the outside she is cold, calm and collected. She tries not to speak much and when she does she speaks in a low pitched tone so people will take her more seriously. As the eldist daughter of several siblings and first in line sucessor to her clan she is often put under a lot of pressure. In many ways this is good as she preforms well under pressure but it does hinder her natural personality.
Her natural personality, which is something most people simply will not see, is a free spirit. She is lazy when she can be. Her sense of duty keeps her laziness in line but if she has nothing to do all day...she will do nothing all day. Her favorite hobby is napping. She adores cute things but actively and intentionally forces herself to hide this fact in her professional life. It is one of her most closely guarded secrets.

Noraneko was born into the Mayonaka clan. For more information about what the Mayonaka clan is and its brief history see below.
Her father and mother were both Jounin of the Mayonaka clan. Her father,Mayonaka Akisume, died when she was only 4 years old and she is his only only child. Her mother, Mayonaka Tamari, re-married when she was six to Akisume's younger brother, Haruyama. This dynamic was somewhat political. The clan itself had seen some significant growth from a small clan of only a few families to now a larger clan of more than 30 adult members at the time. Her mother was actually the one that was the one next in line for the title of Okashira as she was the daughter of the former one. However Akisume was far stronger than her and Haruyama was second only to his brother. Upon Akisume's unexpected death during a high risk mission there was a split in the clan. Many in the clan felt that Akisume had been the true leader and so the next leader should be Haruyama. The other half felt that Tamari was the rightful leader. In order to avoid more conflict they both felt it best to reunite the clan.
As a young girl of only 4 she was unable to even begin to understand the complexities of the situation. All she had known was that her father had died and now her mother must marry her uncle. Being unable to accept this sudden replacement of her father so quickly she began to rebel. She did everything she could to try and stop the wedding. She stole the headdress from her mother (with great difficulty as it weighed nearly 20 kilos and she was only 4 years old). She tried to ruin the feast. She even painted the word "no" all over the location. This gained her the nickname within her family "Gaichu-hime" which means "the pest princess".

It was at the age of 12 that she graduated the academy as a gennin with her graduating class. She was the only female in her group and the two boys that were with her were Akimichi Chokuto and Hyuga Momiji. Both were prominent ninja that showed promise and came from old families with long lines of ninja history. At first there was a significant clash between...well all three of them.
Akimichi Chokuto was very very tall for his age and eventually grew up to stand over two meters tall. He was chubby but was leaner and more muscular than most Akimichi clan members. At the time he was an aspiring medical ninja with effective high damage taijutsu skills. When they first met he was about as hugable as a cactus and about as tactful as a drunk. Unfortunatly he rubbed people the wrong way quite a bit at this time and caused friction within the group at first.
Hyuuga Momiji was the opposite but just as bad. He was so self absorbed with his pride and arrogance that he could hardly say two words before you wanted to punch him in the face....which Noreneko has done on more than one occasion. Momiji had a complex of having to be the best at everything which conflicted with Noreneko's similar complex to also be the best at everything. It was a healthy rivalry with a rocky road and kindled hardship.
Thankfully their Jounin teacher Sagara Sorabi was as wise as he was old. He was easily in his 50's by the time they had come around but he was an effective teacher with many many decades of experience. He was a long pole fighter with advanced weapons manipulation. He also had amazing genjutsu abilities to supplement this. While he could use water and earth wind was his primary element. This came in handy when she found out her own primary element was wind. As a fate filled sense of irony so was her primary rival Momiji's primary element. Though she excelled more with weapons both of her teammates excelled in hand to hand combat. This made her the only mid-range member on her team.
At the age of 13 she had mastered several differnet Jutsu both taught to her, self discovered and brought down from her clan. Her eyes had begun to develop the ability to see in the darkness. Her ears are now hyper developed for sound. Her nose was almost as sharp as a ninja dog's and she had begun to develop her "chakra whiskers" as she called them. The real technique's name is Odayakana Ike but she had trouble with such a long name. Her wind element was coming into fruition and her own stealth techniques such as transparency and silent foot techniques were now second nature. With all of this as well as her two teammates by her side they took on the Chuunin Exams and all three managed to pass.
The chunnin exams were far less notable in her time than for many others. It was perhaps a bit of luck or just good timing but they didn't have to fight anyone of substantial strength till the final rounds of the last part of the exam. The most shocking thing that was that she had misindentified the strengths of her teammates. She knew she was on even terms with Momiji but she had mistakenly assumed that the two of them stood above Chokuto. She was not alone in this as both her and Momiji were shocked when Chokuto blew past them in the exams and took the first place in the finals of the last part of the exam. His medical skills along with incredible giant taijutsu and massive reserves of chakra from his fat storage made him fearsome. This was her first truly humbling experience
Shortly after all three gained the new Chuunin titles the group was split up. Sorabi-sensei had taken his retirement from the active ninja world and decided upon a far less demanding job of teaching at the ninja academy. She still to this day visits him and he enjoy's their visits. Chokuto went on to lead his own squad from there and became an instant star in the medic ninja community. The vision of a "support only" style of medic ninja was shattered by his aggressive tactics and strength. Momiji also went with a team that focused on recons and information gathering. As a Hyuuga his Byakugan was the height of sensory Jutsu and she shined at his new skills.
For the next few years she gained the interest of the anbu. It was at 14 years old that they first invited her to take a participation exam. Not much similarity could be found between this exam and the Chuunin exam. Firstly they asked most of the questions and the men in masks would ask her several questions under different conditions. She had apparently passed as they let her get through tot he second and third final stages. From there she was invited on several undercover missions based on stealth. In these missions there was always one or two Anbu black ops members on the team. They always watched her as if they were valuating her.
It took six months from the time she was first approached to the time she was actually granted membership into the Anbu black ops. Now at 15 years old she was given a red and white mask and that was what changed the least. All missions were now top secret. She was not allowed to share any information with her family and this caused tension between her and her mother. In fact she was told she was not allowed to tell her family at all that she was even Anbu. Her mother had gone and dug out that secret on her own.

She has been trained to be versitile but her major strengths lay in being highly stealthy. She has mastered transparency jutsu as well as quiet foot jutsu (explained below) that allow her to move nearly undetected. With her wind and fire jutsu she is able to hit close and mid range targets with ease. Using the wind to enhance her knife work is her signature calling card. Assasination, stealth and deadly quick kill shots.
Equipment:
She is armed to the teeth with kunai and similar blades. Her signature blade is a single kodachi. It resonates well with her wind chakra and can resonate well enough with her fire chakra. She has several seals around her body where she can summon her weapons. Most are on her arms or legs but there are a few on her torso.
She also has a large number of paper bombs as well. She often attaches them to her weapons but can apply them directly if needed. She has one large bomb that is actually a ball made up of several paper bombs. It looks as if it will make a huge explosion but rather it actually makes a smaller explosion that sprays dozens of paper bombs around the targeted area to be detonated later.

The Mayonaka clan has not always been a ninja clan. They had neglected to join a village during the many years that the ninja villages had taken over as the typical dynamic of the ninja world. Mayonaka's were pretty close to being considered Yakuza up until just after the 4th shinobi war. They had made most of their money by doing discount missions cheaper than the villages would do. This also led to corruption and eventual near destruction of the clan.
Just after the ninja war broke out there had been some dissonance as to how the future of the family would go about. Many wanted to go back to the way they had been for decades before and be content with their small plot in life. Most were not ninja but a few had passed down ninja skills. At this point even the most talented of fighters had only ever been Chuunin level at best. This was until a man named Mayonaka Yoru came about.
Mayonaka Yoru was the illegitimate son of the Oyanbun (Yakuza or faimly boss0 third and youngest daughter. No one even knows who the father was. He had bright blue eyes and jet black hair. His reflexes and movements were way beyond anyone else to come from the Mayonakas in living memory. Being illegitimate and from the youngest and therefore lowest ranking daughter of the Oyabun he was mostly ignored and even despised. However his spirit was legen...wait for it...dary. Often known for setting off on his own at a younge age and taking leave of absences for weeks and even months on end. During his travels he saw the world and came to many conclusions about what kind of person he was and what kind of person he wanted to be. He knew his mother and he loved her. He knew not his father and his mother took that secret to the grave. He was not content with his life of the hated illegitimate grandchild.
One year upon returning from his trips he came armed with a kodachi and kunai. He had trained with ninja and honed his skills with them. His great spirit and charisma swayed the hearts of several in the clan. The account of the battle for the Mayonaka name is probably exaggerated a little but the story is told that the battle waged on for a hundred days and nights. Yoru fighting against odds of 100 to 1 but with his great skill and strength managed to come out on top. Upon his victory his vassles looked to him and said "Oyabun!" but he silenced them. "No. I am not Oyabun...I am the Okashira!" (titles transfering from "boss of Yakuza" to "Head of Ninja clan". From there he marched the survivors to meet with his dear childhood friend, the Hokage, who welcomed them in with open arms.
In reality he was probably outnumbered and the battle probably only lasted a day. But the legend is so much more fun to tell children over a campfire. It was known that the clan did enter the village shortly after the 4th great ninja war and has tried to find a niche in the village ever since. They are a proud clan with an ever advancing rank with the other families in Konoha.
Skipping a few generations the Okashira only one generation previous to the current generation is Mayonaka Jinkoku. He is a stern elder man who had a single daughter who he married away to the strongest and most respected member of the Mayonaka clan. Both lines of lineage state they are able to trace themselves back to the first Okashira though it is not exactly known. Though the split between the two lines of lineage and the tension built in was nothing new. This was also not the first attempt to combine them. This was however the first successful attempts.
The current Okashira is Okashira Mayonaka Tamari, wife of Haruyama and mother of four. She was an accomplished Anbu black ops agent Known for infiltration and espionage. Her calling card is the red and black yukata she wears and the long pipe she smokes out of.
Just after the ninja war broke out there had been some dissonance as to how the future of the family would go about. Many wanted to go back to the way they had been for decades before and be content with their small plot in life. Most were not ninja but a few had passed down ninja skills. At this point even the most talented of fighters had only ever been Chuunin level at best. This was until a man named Mayonaka Yoru came about.
Mayonaka Yoru was the illegitimate son of the Oyanbun (Yakuza or faimly boss0 third and youngest daughter. No one even knows who the father was. He had bright blue eyes and jet black hair. His reflexes and movements were way beyond anyone else to come from the Mayonakas in living memory. Being illegitimate and from the youngest and therefore lowest ranking daughter of the Oyabun he was mostly ignored and even despised. However his spirit was legen...wait for it...dary. Often known for setting off on his own at a younge age and taking leave of absences for weeks and even months on end. During his travels he saw the world and came to many conclusions about what kind of person he was and what kind of person he wanted to be. He knew his mother and he loved her. He knew not his father and his mother took that secret to the grave. He was not content with his life of the hated illegitimate grandchild.
One year upon returning from his trips he came armed with a kodachi and kunai. He had trained with ninja and honed his skills with them. His great spirit and charisma swayed the hearts of several in the clan. The account of the battle for the Mayonaka name is probably exaggerated a little but the story is told that the battle waged on for a hundred days and nights. Yoru fighting against odds of 100 to 1 but with his great skill and strength managed to come out on top. Upon his victory his vassles looked to him and said "Oyabun!" but he silenced them. "No. I am not Oyabun...I am the Okashira!" (titles transfering from "boss of Yakuza" to "Head of Ninja clan". From there he marched the survivors to meet with his dear childhood friend, the Hokage, who welcomed them in with open arms.
In reality he was probably outnumbered and the battle probably only lasted a day. But the legend is so much more fun to tell children over a campfire. It was known that the clan did enter the village shortly after the 4th great ninja war and has tried to find a niche in the village ever since. They are a proud clan with an ever advancing rank with the other families in Konoha.
Skipping a few generations the Okashira only one generation previous to the current generation is Mayonaka Jinkoku. He is a stern elder man who had a single daughter who he married away to the strongest and most respected member of the Mayonaka clan. Both lines of lineage state they are able to trace themselves back to the first Okashira though it is not exactly known. Though the split between the two lines of lineage and the tension built in was nothing new. This was also not the first attempt to combine them. This was however the first successful attempts.

Of all of the 9 graduates from his class he is the lone survivor. He has all of their headbands back at his home on a glass display case and he looks at them every day to remember the lives that he carries on his shoulders. Over his time as a ninja he has known even greater loss than the average. His first wife died shortly after their marriage. He never had children of his own and since his wife's death he has been unable to get close enough to anyone else to merit a relationship of that degree.
During today's time many people ask him why he chose to enter the Anbu corpse when he obviously had great abilities as a regular Jounin and focusing on the stealth would be a waste of his strength. The answer he always gives with a strait face is
"The masks looked cool." And then he gives them a smile and that is the end of it.
However his best friend growing up had a dream to enter the Anbu black ops. In fact it was not only his best friend's dream but his first love's dream as well. They were in his first team and it was after their deaths that he chose to enter the Anbu for them as neither had ever actually done so prior to falling in action. It is a pattern with his eight fallen brethren. He keeps their greatest dream written on a piece of paper that is hidden behind the metal in their headbands. Having an immense amount of physical strength and generally large size he excels in hand to hand combat. His taijutsu is now first rate and he packs a hell of a punch. What is beyond that is he can charge lighting chakra into his fists or feet if need be to increase his damage. He also has mastered the ability of turning part of his body into stone at will. This effect only lasts a few seconds and cannot be done on his whole body.
He has average ability with genjutsu but mostly used just to get through it or dispel it.
His grand ability to fight actually comes with his weapon. He uses two large bladed whip chains that he summons from a tattoo on his forearms. Each link in the chain can be manipulated freely by him so not only does it have any range needed but now it has free range of motion that can attack, bind or throw an enemy. With his superior strength he easily overpowers those that are caught in his web of chains.
He is also able to channel his chakra through the chains as well. With lighting he creates and incredibly powerful chidori style attack that envelops the free moving chain. With fire he is able to superheat the metal without them breaking and break through wind jutsu. Lastly he can use the earth to bind his chains in the ground and seal down an opponent if needed.

Saki is painfully aware of how small and young she looks. In fact she is often mistaken for as young as 13. Despite this she is twice that age at 26 and has shown no signs of getting taller in the last decade. Her claim to fame is her Fukiya Jutsu (blowgun). She as a meter long Fukiya with a tiny scope on the end of it. She can summon the weapon at will from a summoning tattoo in her palms. She has a sealing tattoo on her tongue as well. This allows her a pseudo-rapid reload technique where she can keep her Fikiya at the ready and can reload instantly from her tongue.

Ryuketsu is a tom boy through and through. She grew up with seven elder brothers and she had to fight for every grain of rice and for every moment of peace in her childhood. She is often considered beautiful and she doesn't dislike this but she would rather be feared than respected. She doesn't use a cute voice but rather a deeper raspy voice that commands respect and incites fear. She is quick to action and is rather hotheaded in personal interactions.
Despite her rough exterior she has a warm and soft center. She goes out of her way to defend her comrades and friends and would walk 10k miles to be by your side in a moment of need. To her there is nothing before family and all of her friends are her family. She will not hesitate to break the jaw of the first person to insult her family. Growing up the youngest out of eight with seven older brothers makes life tough for a little girl. She learned quickly you have to use all your weapons. She was feisty even as a toddler as she learned to bite rather early. She still bites to this day if she has too. Even with everything that she had to deal with at home with her gang of older brothers if anyone was ever mean to her at school or anything similar her brothers were on them like a yakuza gang.
A single incident that comes to mind most vividly was when she was about 7 years old. She had wrote a little love letter to a boy she liked but the boy showed it to the rest of the kids and ripped it up in front of her at the playground. The boy was two years older than her and in all honestly probably shredded it to cover up his own embarrassment. It didn't matter though. She ran home in tears and in half the time it took her to get home five of her seven older brothers had arrived on the scene. The two eldest sat it out as they were at least 12 years old and graduated ninja. The five younger ones that were still in the academy however beat the snot out of all the boys on the playground. why all of them? They rushed out in such a vehement rage for what had happened to the little sister that they never stopped to listen to which one it was exactly. But being a family of problem solvers they simply beat up all of them to make sure. The rest was just a preemptive warning to the rest of the little bastards.
Much of her childhood was like this and a lot of it was also getting her older brother's hand-me-downs. Over time she began to take pride in this and grew stronger because of it.
Skipping a few years ahead it wasn't until she met the captain Kumogachi that she decided to move into the Anbu. She had been a jounin since the age of 18 but didn't join the Anbu till the age of 21. She has been with Captain Kumogachi the longest and the only one out of his squad that had ever known him prior to him joining the Anbu.
Over time three of her brothers had died in combat. Four of them still live and she has a plethura of little nieces and nephews numbering no less than 15 ranging between the ages of less than a month old to twelve years old.
A single incident that comes to mind most vividly was when she was about 7 years old. She had wrote a little love letter to a boy she liked but the boy showed it to the rest of the kids and ripped it up in front of her at the playground. The boy was two years older than her and in all honestly probably shredded it to cover up his own embarrassment. It didn't matter though. She ran home in tears and in half the time it took her to get home five of her seven older brothers had arrived on the scene. The two eldest sat it out as they were at least 12 years old and graduated ninja. The five younger ones that were still in the academy however beat the snot out of all the boys on the playground. why all of them? They rushed out in such a vehement rage for what had happened to the little sister that they never stopped to listen to which one it was exactly. But being a family of problem solvers they simply beat up all of them to make sure. The rest was just a preemptive warning to the rest of the little bastards.
Much of her childhood was like this and a lot of it was also getting her older brother's hand-me-downs. Over time she began to take pride in this and grew stronger because of it.

She is a highly taijutsu based combatant. She uses her fire and earth elements to supplement her bare knuckle style approach to fighting. She has next to no long or mid range distant ninjutsu and so focuses almost entirely on close combat. Her strength is unreal and second only to the captain's in this squad. She isn't anything like how Tsunade was but perhaps close to Sakura but with higher speed. She has mastered the ability to release a blast of chakra at moment of impact with her fists to drastically increase the damage output.
She also prides herself in her great grappling abilities. It is here she is able to use her incredible strength and flexibility to literally rip enemies limb from limb. She has learned to twist joints and hold people in locks. This is a skill she developed from wrestling with her brothers all her life.
Despite her simplistic approach to combat she is quite impressive and incredibly useful.

History:
Akumu comes from a less than spectacular family and can be considered probably the best to have come out of his family in generations. He is an only child that was born to two parents, only one of which was a ninja (his father, and the other was a painter by trade (his mother). His early life was spent trying to decide if he would take the path of the ninja or if he would take the path of an artisan of some kind. He didn't really feel that he has the fortitude to be a ninja as he wasn't as fast or as skilled as the other children when they played "shinobi" with paper throwing stars and games such as "chance the devil". But with a bit of prompting from his father he had a "what do you have to loose" sort of attitude about the whole thing.
During his first years of school he found that he was rather dreadful. He faced a fair amount of bullying during his time but he didn't give up. Rather it made him an introvert who wasn't fully capable of seeing his own strength as other seen it. His image of himself had forever been damaged by the cruel things that was said to him at school.
Though in the long run it didn't actually hamper his sucess as he graduated in the middle of his class at the age of 12 to become a genin. He didn't gain the title of chunin however till the age of 18. His lackluster physical skills in both ninjutsu and in taijutsu constantly were at his hindrance. However his genjutsu prevailed to great heights. Even during his years as a simple student his genjutsu was rather powerful and difficult to break. It was not taught to him until much later in life on how to use his genjutsu and moreover how to unlock the secrents of genjutsu.
A master of his who trained him the year prior to becoming a Chunin taught him that the essence of genjutsu is literally mind control. You get inside someone's head and you mess around with it. Akumu who had gotten good at getting into the minds of people and finding their fears managed to excel in a new skill. It was the skill of interrogation. He joined the Anbu specifically to be on the interrogation squad and he quickly made a name for himself. His skills were horrifying and baffling at the same time. He was the first to be able to do what he does in recorded history of the village. (will reveal down below)

He is nearly a pure genjutsu user. He can cast genjutsu with visual, auditory and olfactory receptors. If he can ever get in physical contact with a person his genjutsu becomes nearly unbreakable.
In actual combat he works best with someone else. He either casts quick but weak genjutsu on people to give his comrades an advantage or he has the comrades set up him to be able to make physical contact to set in his most powerful mind controling genjutsu.
The powerful mind controling genjutsu actually is a two phase jutsu that first puts the victim into a state of near sleep or hypnosis. From there he can alter their brain activity to either force them into a dreamlike state where he can probe around in their subconscious or he can do his most fearsome skill, implanting memories that feel just as vivid as real memories. With that skill no victim can even tell what is real and what isn't. For some it causes insanity. For others it makes them perfect puppets to force them to do his bidding. What is worse is that these implanted memories don't seem to go away once normal genjutsu are broken. In fact even for skilled genjutsu users separating what is false memories and what are real is nearly impossible.
The downside to the false memory jutsu is that it takes time. It takes a lot of time. For him to totally brainwash someone it would take upwards of three days for a resistant individual.
