I came out of lurking because I heard there were lesbians.
@Yui How do you feel about doubling up on characters? I have an idea that might interest you.
The number of fingers on a hand if you live in Chernobyl: Don't post in this thread, for the sake of neatness. I don't wanna keep track of things in here, so shoot me a PM to let me know you're interested. And maybe tell me your favorite color to show you're listening (mine is green). It's not necessary, but I'd like to see who actually does it.
Unfortunately, I'll also have to drop. A bunch of RP stuff I'd been waiting for on other sites all fell into place at once, so I have to cut a couple RPs loose to free up enough time to see about those. Luckily, Raiko's whereabouts are currently vague enough that she could easily be written off and never seen again.
(oh shit that image came out bigger than I thought it would)
Hey there, I'm Yui, the self-proclaimed "raincoat RPer". I'm pretty bad at that whole "about me" stuff so I'll cut to the chase. I'm looking for 1x1 partners, and if you're reading this thread, so are you! Unless you're just a curious lurker. I'm mainly looking for stuff of the FxF variety, so if you came here looking for MxF or MxM, sorry but you got the wrong thread. Now, let's talk about some important stuff. Like rules.
Rules & Info: 1: I don't care what's in your pants irl. I'm a guy if you care, but as long as you can RP girls well, I don't care if you're a guy, girl, or apache attack helicopter. If guys RPing girls makes you uncomfortable, well that sucks but that's what I enjoy most. Go find someone else I guess :|
II: Word count doesn't matter to me. RPing is supposed to be fun; not an e-peen contest to see who can write the most paragraphs about the cup of coffee your character got. I generally can put out a paragraph or two, but you can do whatever you want as long as I have something to respond to and don't have to read a college thesis every time you reply.
C: No real-life face claims. That shit's fucked up, dude. I don't care if you prefer using anime pics or some other pics or writing a description, but I'll be opting for the anime pics. I'd go into detail on why irl faceclaims are to RPing as EA is to gaming, but that's not a rant for here or now. If any rule in this thread is non-negotiable, it's this one.
Four: I don't mind people ghosting on me, but I would still appreciate if you did say something before bailing. Likewise, I'll let you know if I feel like it just isn't working out.
The number of fingers on a hand: Seeing as y'all like talking about your smut so much, I should probably mention I'm mostly a fade-to-black type of person. I'm not against writing the nitty gritty details, but I've got no experience with that and never saw a particular reason to learn. That said, I'm kink-friendly to a fault, so if you want to indulge that weird shit you're into, just say the word and I'll do my best to work with you. Likewise, I'll probably want to indulge myself, but will be sure to respect any limits you've got.

Not Eight: The most important one. Have fun! It prolly sounds cliche or cheesy, but it's important to enjoy life and I feel like people have forgotten that more and more as the years roll by.
Ate: Bring a raincoat, because you're probably gonna need it. If you do not have a raincoat, one will be provided for you.
Hopefully that wasn't so bad. Now for the pairings and fandoms... but alas, I don't want to come up with pairings. I'll leave some fandoms below, but what I want to do instead of pairings or plots is leave a few keywords I like and see what y'all come up with based on those (I'd obviously help; we're partners after all). Feel free to play mix-and-match with the below fandoms and words as you please. If you happen to spot something that's red, it means I'm really hungry for that right now and I'll love you forever if you want to do something with that.
NOTES: I don't play as or with canon characters. It simply feels uninspired to me.
League of Legends Legend of Zelda (I like Wind Waker's world the most, and don't have a Switch yet so don't spoil any BotW stuff for me please) Persona (haven't played any games, but was in an RP for it once and enjoyed it for a while) Pokémon Mikagura School Suite My Hero Academia Soul Eater To Aru (Index/Railgun; I prefer the latter) Touhou Yu-Gi-Oh Zombieland Saga
"See, the thing is, you've got guts and I like that." Hammer in one hand, and fistful of electricity in the other, Raiko stared down a battered and charred magical girl. Raiko herself was far from looking like she was in peak condition. She tossed her hammer lazily onto the ground next to her, extending out her other hand as it crackled with electricity. "Get out of town. Don't participate in this Hex Night. I like you, but everyone's a competitor, and I can't not thin down the competition as much as I can before it actually starts."
"And if I don't?" the other girl spat.
"Lightning to the face. I can't promise it won't kill you, so I'm letting you walk off relatively unharmed." Raiko held her empty, non-electrified hand out to the injured magical girl. "What'll it be?"
"...fine." The girl took Raiko's hand, and got up to her feet. The magical girl reverted her transformation, looking no different from your average girl, if not rather beaten up. Raiko followed suit. "I'll just have to stay alive long enough for the next one."
"That's the spirit." Although, if Raiko pulled everything off the way she was imagining, there probably wouldn't be a next one. It simply wouldn't be necessary at that point, right? Best not to break it to this girl. Besides, she was already done with this one. That was one less competitor that could have potentially taken Raiko out of the running, and to her, that was what mattered most. And with that one handled, it was only a matter of finding the next competitor to be eliminated.
One step at a time. And once we're done with everyone else and I'm the last girl standing, we get to the stuff that really matters.
Personality: Raiko's always been a straightforward type of girl, with equally tactless solutions to her problems. What's the point of picking a lock, when kicking the door down gets you on the other side all the same and is much simpler? Never one to care about the "how" so much as the "what", Raiko can often have trouble getting why someone may have a problem with her method of problem-solving. Which is, of course, a problem, and therefore must be solved in the traditional Raiko fashion. By force. While this forceful nature may make one think Raiko is an aggressive or angry person, that's by no means the case. Sure, she can get mad like anyone else, but all things considered, Raiko is a rather upbeat, live in the moment type who tries not to bother with negativity.
By all means the type to have a few beers with a total stranger or show up to an open event, Raiko tries to live life as well as she can. She's seen firsthand how people that just lie around festering away end up, and has met people who weren't lucky enough to live a full life. Raiko's also fully aware that she herself is neither invincible nor immortal, so she wants to make the time she's got to live count. And she encourages others - especially those wasting their lives or who are gradually dying themselves - to do the same! This "carpe diem" attitude can border on self-indulgent greed at times, however. Perhaps it's because she's spent nearly a decade in proximity to and beating up the manifestations of negative emotions, but Raiko isn't as sunshine and unicorns as she lets on.
Skills: Raiko's most notable talent is her ability to improvise and adapt. There was also a brief period during high school where Raiko's physical fitness made her both the girls' wrestling team's best member and the vocalist of a would-be death metal band. As the latter could imply, Raiko's got quite the pair of lungs on her.
Brief Backstory: Raiko took to being a magical girl fairly early in life. Raised in a crime-ridden hive of a slum, Raiko was all too familiar with the types of emotions that created the very shadows she would one day swear to destroy. Although the tiny family of herself and her mother did their best to keep things together and light-hearted at home, it didn't always work. Mama Maruda wanted Raiko to stay out of trouble, and Raiko had both a knack for finding and a drive to deal with trouble herself. On the night of an especially heated conflict about it, Raiko - twelve at the time - was approached by a fairy. Her first reaction was to try swatting it (she failed), thinking it was some sort of bug.
This fairy showed her the world around her in a new light. Getting an answer to the question of "So by destroying those, I'm making the world a less twisted place?" was all it took for her to get on-board with the idea. Raiko has since spent nine years destroying shadows, sometimes aiding her fellow magical girls, and other times - mostly in the more recent years - finding herself in conflict with them. Raiko has plans in mind to wipe out these shadowy creatures once and for all, and while there's no guarantee it'll work, a no-rules wish for "unlimited magical power" is vital to her goals.
Abilities: Although capable of fighting at a distance, Raiko's magic is best suited for a close-up confrontation, be it short or long. She's not all that mobile, but is able to take plenty of punishment in a fight while dishing out big attacks of her own. The potential uses for her magic are a lot broader than what she typically uses, but Raiko isn't all that creative and doesn't think about trying new things most of the time. Blessed Rain: An inherent part of Raiko's transformation is a personal raincloud hovering just above her and spanning a few feet in diameter. The cloud moves pretty slowly, so it's fully possible to push Raiko out from underneath it, but as long as she's under it, the rain will gradually heal her over time. Howl Current: Creates a powerful gust of wind to push or pull things or people around. Doesn't reach far enough to pull in people at a far distance, making its best uses a "parry" of sorts or a tool to keep people from escaping once she's gotten close. Using this in rapid succession wears Raiko out quickly due to its overall power, and because her transformed state is unaffected by wind, she can't use it to move herself. The upper limit of wind speeds she can generate is unknown, but there's been several occasions where she's been able to hurl small cars at enemies. She claims to have launched a train once, but that's a hefty exaggeration. Blast Bolt: The most common use of Raiko's magic, within which she fires multiple bolts of lightning from her hand like a shotgun. Can be notably powerful up close, but the bolts don't reach very far and spread in a way that makes them unreliable outside of close-range combat. Ballista Bolt: A larger, singular lightning bolt Raiko can create then fire. Powerful, but takes a bit to get ready, and is a fairly slow projectile.
