I love the idea of them not responding to the new name that goes with their new life until the character is accustomed with it. As for a mark, perhaps a mole or scar on like the arm or other part of the body that they either had early on from their first life, or something received at/around the end of their first life? Just an idea. I originally was thinking of like a birth mark, but honestly I feel that's been over done a little, but it's your RP idea so don't read too much into my one opinion(s) until there are (hopefully) more people who are interested. :)
Honestly, this gets more and more intriguing. It sounds fun. Making the others do some guess work. After all, what's the fun in revealing all the details about the new forms each person takes? The only question I have left is will the characters be going by the name they start out with, or will their names change with each incarnation?
That sounds like a fairly sturdy plot. I think the only thing that could cause problems is the possibility of a time skip. If one is reborn and you time skip. IE: the year they died was 1994 and they were reborn relatively quickly, and they time skipped 21 years to 2015, the time skip would have to affect the rest of the story so someone's character who was 20 would then be 41 and ect, which I feel would certainly challenge others. I'm feeling this would probably be best if it was kept to a small group or possibly a 1x1 so no one got lost or left behind in the story line.
I like this Idea and I'm plenty interested. Sounds much like the show Forever, except, well you're not a singular immortal being, but several beings who were/are plenty mortal. The identity crisis is what really sells it for me. While the personality being 'constant' is a little hard to work around (because relationships with other characters *if any*) but I think it would work since physical change would mean that if a character died and came back, there's much less of a chance they'd recognize each other again, not to mention age differences between the time they died and how long it takes them to come back to life. (immediately reborn? A year or three?)
