@alexfangtalon Accepted :D Move it over to the CS tab. Alright, just waiting on @Scallop for the drummer, and we can start the IC. I'm keen as heck to get this started!
@alexfangtalon That would work. Marcus is a songwriter too, but having several song-writers in a band is always good, and can lead to some top-notch drama too, with clashing for creative control and such.
What do you think of a violinist(similar to Lindsay Stirling) in the band?
Oooh, that could certainly be interesting. Could get all Yellowcard-ish! Could possibly give them production-related skills as well, so even if they don't play in every song, they can still be part of the crew?
@Hero Accepted! Move it over to the CS tab. So we've got a bassist, keyboards, and a guitarist, all of which can sing. And a drummer if @Scallop is keen. Good start. I'll just wait for another person or two, and then start the IC.
Appearance: The young man stands at around the average height at 5’9” and is fairly well built, though he tends to hide it with baggy band shirts and hoodies most of the time. He has light brown hair, which is straight and falls just below his ears. He often wears it with a fringe swept over his right eye. His eyes are a dark blue, though are rarely seen behind his hair.
Age: 19
Instrument(s): Guitar (Main), Vocals, Keyboard.
Description: Marcus first comes across as quiet and introverted, and is fairly shy around new people. Once he gets comfortable, however, his true personality shines. He loves talking about his passions, especially music, and could talk for hours once he starts. He likes to feel useful, and is always there for his friends, or almost anyone really. He always tries to be on everyone's good side and is trusting to a fault. Since he was young, Marcus has struggled with depression and anxiety. He should probably see someone about it, but he refuses to, for several reasons. He also often puts other people's happiness and well being above his own. He will often spend time keeping to himself due to thinking that he is just a bother to everyone around him. Though he will often fight past it, it’s always a nagging feeling at the back of his mind. He tries to be calm and collected, but is often quick to overreact and over think most things. Even the tiniest issue can turn into a horrible world altering disaster in his mind if he lets it. Marcus is very opinionated, and often struggles to find the line between assertive and and aggressive when it comes to arguments, especially when it's something he's passionate about. Secretly, he is a hopeless romantic. He often keeps it hidden to avoid getting hurt, but it's there, and he can't wait to find someone to finally share that side of him with.
Brief Backstory: There isn't much to say about Marcus' childhood. The youngest of 3 boys in a family of musicians, he was always supported when it came to music. His parents gave him all the support he needed, though made sure that he knew how hard it is to make it in the music industry, so that he wasn't blindsided if he chose to pursue it. Despite the warnings, Marcus always made it very clear that music was what he wanted to do with his life. He went through school as somewhat of a wallflower, sticking to his own small circle of friends and keeping his head down, and spending most of his free time in the music room.
Miscellaneous Info: Is never seen without a pair of headphones. Has a van. Rides his skateboard most places. Works in the only KFC in town. His father works in the one Music store in town.
Music. A universal language of unrivaled expression as old as society itself. It can make you smile, make you laugh, bring tears to your eyes or rhythm to your feet. It brings people together, from all walks of life. People who previously might have had nothing in common, can come together with mutual love of music, and form bonds stronger than any other friendship. These bonds are what creates a band. A group of like minded musicians who have their own stories to tell, and their own messages to share. How they choose to do that is up to them.
The stories of a young band, coming together to find their place in the world, are unique and often unexplored. These are the stories that will be told. The members of a band could come from completely different walks of life, have different experiences to draw from, and different motivations that drive them, but all have one thing in common. A love of music. It's these differences that make a band such an interesting group. The clashes of personalities, and intimacy of the raw emotion that is so important in music, can lead to strong friendships, explosive confrontations, and passionate romances. It's high risk, high reward when creative people come together, with experiences to be had that are unique and unforgettable.
You play a young musician from a small town in New South Wales, Australia, and you're about ready to start a band and begin your journey! In this RP, we'll each play a member of a new up-and-coming band, and tell their story. We will start at the beginning, with the band coming together, and go from their, exploring the relationships between the band members, the band's journey through the industry, and the character's personal stories.
Rules: 1. Super simple, just be nice. Be respectful of your fellow Role-Players, and don't cause any unnecessary drama. 2. In-Character and Out-Of-Character are separate. Don't bring IC drama into OOC, and don't take your frustrations with a character out on the player, and vice-versa. 3. Another super simple one. No godmodding. That shouldn't need any explaining. 4. Your character will not be super experienced. The point is to be a fresh band, new to the industry. Your character can be talented at their chosen instrument, but keep in mind that they will still be fairly inexperienced when it comes to the music industry as whole. It is also important for character development, that a character does have flaws, and it isn't perfect in every way. 5. Try to post at at least twice a week, if possible. If you can't post due to IRL issues, just let me know. 6. I'm not too picky when it comes to post length, as long as it is well detailed, and communicates your characters actions well, and allows for easy interaction. 7. Please try to use decent spelling and punctuation. 8. Adult themes will more than likely come up, so I'd prefer players and their characters to be at least 18. 9. Most important. Have fun!
