Test Anxiety

Metal clattered and gears groaned as GLaDOS set up two identical tests. She'd been planning this one for a while. It was unique in the sense that, at the end, the test subjects would finally meet each other. After this test, she wanted to see their cooperative skills. She hadn't told the subjects about each other and figured this would be quite interesting.

"Hello. Did you sleep well?" She made the generic announcement to both subjects in their respective starting chambers. "Not that it really matters. With the adrenaline rush you get from the urge to survive, sleep deprivation makes little difference. Of course, that doesn't really matter either because you aren't really fighting to survive. Death here is merely a simulation."

She let the speakers in the separate rooms buzz with static in her silence for a moment to add drama. She loved doing that; keeping the subjects stuck in the starting chamber without saying anything. It gave her a certain satisfaction. It was a way to remind them that she was in charge.

"I am bound by protocol to warn you that there will be Thermal Discouragement Beams and acid pools." She finally gave the doors permission to open. "Happy testing!" Sarcasm was almost audible in her modulated voice.

Test Anxiety

Based on Valve's Portal Games, the corrupted super computer, GLaDOS, has found a new test subject. One that Relaxation Center Manager Wheatley was not aware of. In order to get accurate results, She wakes the man up and begins testing him, comparing his scores to that of Chell.

"W-well, I was hoping we might speak in private as I don't know any of these people... at least not personally-" he looked around the clearing. "-and I feel it would be inappropriate to talk about it around them even if I did know them. It isn't terribly urgent."

The Happy Mask Salesman twisted his hands in nervous knots. That was the only sign of anxiety he showed. He could feel the most malignant of the powers staring at him, boring holes into his calmness.

The Last of Us

Zmerr struggled to hang on as the mass of black fur and hard muscles pulsed beneath him. He bounced gulping for breaths with each bound the panther took. When he finally composed himself and got a good handle on the situation, he began to chuckle at the irony of it all. He'd spent years on this island alone and now all of a sudden, there were other people all trying to go at it with one another. The other part that made it ironic was the panther. He'd spent most of his life running from such creatures and here he was relying on one for his safety.

It was all very intriguing. Life, as he knew it, was being turned on it's head. Everything he knew was now very different. His chuckle turned into a strange laughter and he nearly lost his grip. He snapped back to reality, all laughter cutting out completely.
