What I’m Really Like
Alejandro is a cocky guy, someone who likes to be the center of attention and attracting the looks of those around him. His self-assured type of character makes him an attractive person, but it also comes with its share of arrogance. You will never hear Alejandro say thanks or please, unless he is talking to someone who is above him in the Bustamante hierarchy. Alejandro is a loud person, someone who is constantly talking and expects those around him to be entertained. He gets things done, being an ambitious guy in general, but he also let's his partying and gambling get in the way pretty often.
In the family, Alejandro enjoys the respect of most of his peers. This does not mean he is well-liked, but he is respected and treated well. His role as enforcer means he gets to break some bones and beat up people often enough, so familiy members know not to cross him. His short fuse can lead to very dangerous situations, where Alejandro is barely able to control his emotions and will lash out at the first things that annoys him. He is a know gambler, someone who goes all or nothing, in the game and in life in general.
In fights, Alejandro is someone who can hold his own, however, this can get to his head rather quickly. It is not unusual for him to underestimate his opponents, a fact that comes back to bite him every now and then. His biggest weakness is his vanity and lack of humility, never able to shut up, even when the situation requires silence.
All About My Past
The cocky Alejandro was born in Mexico, son to an American dad and a Latina women. His parents however were not in a formal relationship, his mother was basically his dad's sidechick. Alejandro lived with his mum in a small town, receiving money from his dad every month. He was a wealthy New Yorker lawyer that, ironically, handled divorce cases. When Alejandro was 4 years old, his dad's wife found out about her husband's cheating, and divorced the man. This allowed Alejandro and his mum to move to New York soon after, reunited into what could be called a family for once.
His childhood was fairly normal, however, Alejandro soon started to become the troublemaker who would eventually turn criminal. School was boring, and he preferred to be outside, play soccer, have fun. Learning never came easy to the wild boy, and soon he started skipping classes and failing grades. His parents tried their best to convince him to be a better student, but the loud-mouth Alejandro would not listen. When every attempt failed, his dad decided to put him into a private boarding school at the age of 14, away from his friends and fellow troublemakers.
Alejandro of course hated the decision, but eventually had to get used to his new life. Things didn't immediately get better, he had to spend basically every day in detention or without dinner for causing problems in class and in the dorms. A few weeks after his arrival, the resident PE teacher took him to the side, and asked him why he was always causing trouble. Alejandro had no better answer than saying that was just the way he was, wild. The PE teacher nodded, and told him to be in the gym after class. That's how Alejandro started learning boxing, and eventually how to control his emotions and energy.
It didn't turn him into a straight A student, but it allowed him to finally become a somewhat tolerable presence at the boarding school. Learning was still no fun however, and after Alejandro got his High School degree and left the boarding school, he knew he would not be going to college. Back in his old home, it did not take too long until he started meeting up with his old friends again. They had graduated from troublemakers to full-blown criminals, a life that Alejandro eventually was sucked into as well. Being a boxer, he was responsible for beating up those who didn't want to give up their possessions. His little gang soon started robbing liquor stores and small businesses, which evenutally lead to the group being noticed by the Bustamantes.
Being on the rise, the group needed every muscle they could get their hands on, and Alejandro was a prime candidate for recruiting, being a good fighter and half latino. At the age of 22 he had became a full-fledged member of the Bustamantes, an enforcer who took care of the troublemakers and cheaters of the casino, as well as the one who collected protection money from the associated businesses.
