Aelih was barely listening to Dannisus lecture, although it was probably interesting, Aelih simply wasn’t very interested in magic beyond that of simply enchanting a weapon, or repairing things. Simple Magics, and very useful as well.

As Dannisus’ distracted tail moved to whip Aelih, the one free hand instinctively went up and caught it, and Aelih glared at Dannisus for a second before realizing what had happened and releasing it without a word, amused.

With a chuckle, Aelih turned back to the town at large and saw the man from before, with the gauntlets, looking at them for a second, and gave him a simple nod.

Aelih gave a terse nod as Dannisus raised his eyebrow, then looks to Lui, then back to Dannisus, who was talking again.

“I have heard of them, yes, but my memories on most magic are hazy at best. ...I didn’t pay much attention to be honest, back when I was young I was much more interested in going and fighting over magic.”

That said, Aelih lets the two of them converse, deciding to act as a sort of guard to the pair, or at least a sentry, to make sure that nothing snuck up before Aelih would notice it. Let the other two ones more knowledgeable about magic talk about magic, Aelih would make sure nothing interrupted them.

Aelih gives a nod and a small smile back to Dannisus, noting his eagerness to be away from the tavern, but dismissing it as his nervousness.

As he started walking, and Lui’s lantern caught on fire ”Hadn’t that been a staff earlier?”, Aelih cautiously drew the spear off its sheath and easily spun it once, then began following, using the spear as a walking stick of sorts, although more accurately it was being used in case it was needed by Aelih.

Although walking with the spear out drew a few odd glances, Aelih ignored them, preferring the sense of security, no matter the stares. Besides, the girl with the lantern in broad daylight was likely odder than someone openly carrying a weapon in these days.

Aelih noted Dannisus standing directly outside the tavern's wall, and nods to him, listening to Lui.

"Thanks for the compliment, although I changed my mind." Aelih says dryly to Lui, who hadn't seemed to have noticed Aelih's presence yet.

Dannisus seemed... anxious, for some reason. Beyond what might normally be expected from simply entering a tavern. But, of course, he was a Myti, and Aelih didn't really know how sensitive they were. Maybe Myti males were sensitive, Aelih sure didn't know. Instead, Aelih simply gave a wave to Dannisus and leaned against the wall, surveying the streets as a whole

Aelih listened quietly as Lui spoke, making a very good point. Maybe Lui had motivations of her own to get Aelih out of a public place, but doubtful. If so Lui was either very unskilled, or very skilled, at subterfuge, and neither one particularly worried Aelih, especially since the former option seemed far more likely.

Aelih sighed, downing the rest of the unsatisfactorily fresh water, then standing up and setting the empty glass onto the bar and following Lui outside, casting a final look on the tavern then sighing, smiling as the fresh air replaces that of the tavern’s crowded air. A satisfying smell, to say the least.

”So where’s... oh there she is.” Aelih nodded, seeing Lui, and approaches her without a word.

Personally I agree with the idea of a discord, they’re convenient and all

Aelih raises an eyebrow up as Dannisus quickly fled the tavern, and shrugged, sipping st the water. Aelih then looked at Lui, who had asked a question, something about following him.

Aelih simply shrugged, replying dryly “None of my business. You can if you want, but I’ll be staying here for the time being.” With that said, Aelih’s chair scraped against the floor as it turned, Aelih now instead watching the other group, including that annoying girl.

Let’s see here... there was a man with gauntlets of some kind, eating a steak. Those gauntlets... without doubt magical. You wouldn’t just wear those, especially at a meal, unless you were afraid to have them taken. ”Probably the girl. She smells like a thief.” Aelih thought wryly. Elf noses were nowhere as sensitive as Myti’s were, but Aelih was referring more to the feel of the woman rather than any actual scent.

”Note to self, avoid her in any public spaces.” Aelih was quite attached to the spear, thank you very much, and all else being carried too.

Aelih calmly listened to Lui tell her story after Dannisus had told more about himself, and about the eye. ”Well that’s rather odd. So she is either a magic construct, or was a slave to a wizard, based on that. Let’s go for the first option.”

Aelih then turned to Dannisus as he started telling them about himself, and about an encounter with a mana tag. Nasty things, those. The only time those were in the elf city, the one Aelih grew up in, at least, was to destroy them. Elves liked freedom, of themselves and of magic.

”Hmm?” Oh, the Myti asked about the spear, and all. Aelih smiled, noting some signs of... irritation? Nervousness? ...something. The Myti was not relaxed, that much was for sure.

“It’s fine, don’t worry about pronouncing it too exactly. As for my story... well, to put it simply, I grew up in an elvish city than I think Wasn’t too far from here? I don’t remember how far it was at this point... anyways, after that city got burned down, somehow, I’ve spent my life wandering. As for the spear, well, that’s what I was trained in, so I kept it with me.” ”Oh, and he knew it was enchanted, intriguing. Not surprising but intriguing.”

Aelih looked at the girl curiously as she spoke ”...construct?” Aelih has a bit of experience with constructs due to living in an elf city, but hadn’t ever interacted with them much. Aelih curiously examined the eye that wasn’t an eye again. ”Some kind of... marking, maybe? To state that it’s a construct?” Such a construct would be... intriguing.

Aelih had, quite frankly, never seen a construct that lifelike, but again, hadn’t had much interaction with constructs or golems in general, due to training as a fighter and not as a mage. But anyways... the girl, Lui she had said, asked a question to thy Myti.

“My name is Aelih.” Aelih smiles slightly, almost a smirk. “And to add onto what he said, yes, most people don’t treat... male Myti well. Males are hardly the highest in their hierarchy, or in the inter-species heirarchy in general”

Aelih turns sharply at the sudden loud noise, hand reaching for something at around the waist, under the table, before relaxing as it cut off, although still glaring at the woman. Aelih has seen her walk in earlier, and had marked her as a troublemaker. Better to ignore her. Aelih turned back to the table and sighed slowly.

Aelih gives a nod to the Myti, sipping the iced water “Hello to yourself as well” came the response, in a bland, tired tone.

“Hope you don’t mind that I’m taking a seat here. Need somewhere... quiet to sit, and I figured sitting with someone like yourself would work pretty well for that purpose.”

Aelih looked up as a girl approached the table, eyes only for the Myti, and sits down, yelping something out, and Aelih raised an eyebrow high, examining the newcomer.

Intriguing...

Aelih’s attention was drawn to the girl’s face, or more specifically, her eyes. Or eye anyways. The other eye appeared to be... not an eye, to put it simply. The other eye simply seemed to be a gemstone of some kind. Now that... that would be interesting. This girl seemed to be the kind with experience beyond her years. Aelih smiles, sipping the water again.

“Well I personally don’t mind” Aelih says to the girl as she sits down, “But I’m unsure of what he’ll say” Aelih says, head tilting towards the direction of the male Myti, leaving the choice of whether to allow the girl to sit or not to him.

Of course, the response would probably be positive, given how he seemed to accept Aelih’s presence, so... Aelih doubted that he would reject the girl.
