You can roll either 4d3 which is four 3-sided dice or 4d3-8 to accurately reveal the possible outcomes of FATE dice which should read -4 to +4. You can still use 4d3 without the -8 DRM, but it will give you outcomes of 4 to 12.
As a DM or Thread Moderator, you should assign qualities to each outcome for your characters to deal with. I would urge you to allow your characters to have no more than a +4 DRMs to their abilities. This will help them excel at those areas they are trained and experienced at and fail in those areas they are not. As an example:
Legendary 8 (16)
Epic 7 (15)
Fantastic 6 (14)
Superb 5 (13)
Great 4 (12)
Good 3 (11)
Fair 2 (10)
Average 1 (9)
Mediocre 0 (8)
Poor -1 (7)
Terrible -2 (6)
Horrendous -3 (5)
Catastrophic -4 (4)
These outcomes listed in Pea Green can only be achieved with DRMs.
