The familiar sound of Sebastian's footsteps could be heard as he entered Ciel's room. The butler quietly pushed the trolley towards the side before making his way over to the curtains to open them. As he did, the butler glanced at the sleeping Ciel. A soft sigh could be heard from Sebastian. How long had he been serving the young human like this? A butler to the core yes, but Sebastian could not deny that he was still in the end a demon. That contract had to be fulfilled before he could feast upon the boy's soul. If it had been left up to any other demon, they would have taken Ciel's soul by force already. Indeed there was a possibility that demons could break the contract if they became impatient. Sebastian knew it all too well...

"Please wake up my young Master. It is time for breakfast" said Sebastian as he gently tapped Ciel on the shoulder. He handed Ciel his favourite blend of tea before beginning to comb the boy's soft hair. The newspaper lay on the trolley, having been read and memorised by Sebastian just moments earlier. "London is calm today young Master. There has been no reported murders or strange occurrences in the newspaper. Perhaps it is a sign of your due diligence" commented Sebastian with a playfully mocking tone. Yes, he and Ciel had eliminated threat after threat under orders from Her Majesty the Queen. Had they truly cleansed the capital of danger r was it just a calm before the storm. Whatever the situation, Sebastian couldn't help but poke a little bit of fun at Ciel being the Queen's watchdog - a stark contrast to his bold and confident self.

"It appears that the Queen recently called for a celebration to be held in honour of the Duchess. To retain the reputation of the Phantomhives, your garments will need to be remade from scratch. I have organised your tailor to visit this afternoon and she has confirmed her availability" Sebastian then stepped back studying Ciel's body. "And it also appears that you are growing fast my Lord. Soon you will be able to reach my shoulder without the need to stand on your toes" added Sebastian with another playful smirk. Ciel still had a bit of growing to do, but at least he no longer looked like the small and pitiful child that Sebastian had stamped with his seal. The boy had grown in terms of his height and also his mind, having gained the mindset of a proper Lord.

The rate at which one would grow was not a concern for Demons. Demons could change their form at will, the only factor determining rank and authority was their raw power. In contrast, humans were fickle in what they saw, judging a person's worth merely by their appearance and not paying mind to what truly lies beyond.

Another long evening of paperwork and skulking about the city, and for what? Ultimately the paperwork had simply been reviewing revenue, a matter that Ciel really had no need to know. The city of London had been peaceful for the past few days thanks to his vigilance, which meant his regular rounds were all but moot. For whatever reason the young boy had issue falling asleep last night, waking a few times in the evening only to drift off again. Sleep as of late had been sketchy like that; his servants and even Sebastian had blamed it on growing pains. He was growing to be certain, but it was absurd to think that would prevent him from sleeping.

When the time came that Sebastian finally parted the blinds Ciel was far from ready to get up. He'd vaguely heard the demon's entrance, but upon being hit with a cascade of sunlight and at the butler's insistence he had little choice but to rise. With no small degree of reluctance he pushed himself up into a sitting position, blinking blearily into the sun's rays before glancing at the teacup offered to him. "If it is quiet then is it necessary for me to wake at such an obscene hour...?" he mumbled, sighing before taking a sip of his drink. Feeling a faint tug at his scalp Ciel sat upright to make combing his hair easier, setting the teacup in his lap as he glanced out the window. So would begin another day in pursuit of those responsible for stealing his life. Three long years of incessant chases and dozens of clues and yet there was no clear culprit yet. Absolutely blasphemous that he would be made to run about like this, like someone's piece in a game.

Ciel ignored the quip about is 'due diligence', but bit when his stature was brought up. "Reach your shoulder?" he repeated, gazing up at Sebastian before smirking. "Should I want to do such a thing I'd simply order you to your knees Sebastian. What do I need stature for when I can bring others to my level?" He'd of course noticed the changes in his height as of late, amongst other things. When he'd initially formed the contract he had no intention of ever living this long, so reaching 15 was a surprise to him. What's more were the alterations that he was going through as a person. His body was changing in ways he'd not expect, hair was beginning to poke out here and there, muscle mass was growing and even his voice seems to have gone a touch deeper. Physical changes aside there were some more... Hidden ones as well. He was a bit more arrogant than he used to be, and considering how he had been that was something. There were urges now too, ones he had been utterly alien to before and was embarrassed to admit. He'd certainly never bring those up in anyone's company.

"Right... I suppose we've best be getting ready for that celebration then." Ciel mumbled, moving his teacup back onto the trolley. Brushing Sebastian's hand aside he swung his legs over the edge of the bed, lifting his arms and yawning in a stretch before he got to his feet. Mornings had never been his favorite time of day, and waking each day with the knowledge he'd have Sebastian preparing him didn't help that in the least. "When will we be departing for this party anyways? You neglected to give me a time Sebastian." In the evening, most likely, which left plenty of time for whatever else may need to be done. Never a shortage of work, that was for certain. Turning his head to the clock in the corner he noted the time at just past eight, surprisingly late for him to be getting up. "Hurry up and get me dressed, I need to make sure the others are about their duties as well. I'm not going to be leaving the estate in any less than perfect order tonight, Queen or no Queen."

"Waking up early is a must young Master. It is the most simple of disciplines for an Earl" explained Sebastian before he momentarily glanced at the world outside. "If there was a unexpected guest, it would be unfortunate if they had to see your half asleep look" commented Sebastian. He could detect someone lurking outside, but it didn't seem to carry a sense of danger or threat. Ciel then continued to talk, pointing out that he could command Sebastian to kneel down at any time. The demon froze for a moment with a brief look of surprise. He had forgotten that the boy was capable of that. "That is indeed correct my Lord. I will follow your command down to the letter, no matter what it is" mused Sebastian. He admired the fact that Ciel had gained more wit over time instead of being the impulsive and short tempered brat back then. A welcome development.

"The event will begin at 8 o'clock and thus we will depart at 7. As you are an Earl, it is customary for the other guests to arrive first and wait for your arrival" The butler set down the comb and stood behind Ciel as he reached over and started to slide off the Lord's nightie. Gazing at the back of Ciel's neck, Sebastian wondered if it would have been better to give into temptation and simply just devour Ciel's riping soul. But just as the nightie was blocking Ciel and Sebastian's vision, an unknown voice could be heard in the room.

"Dress? I believe that would not be needed" came the voice with a light chuckle. Sebastian instantly dropped Ciel's nightie back over the boy and took a protective stance in front of him as he eyed the unwelcomed guest with suspicion and dislike. The guest was leaning against the door frame in a casual manner.

"And who may you be? I am the only one who allows visitors past the Phantomhive doors" said Sebastian, tone blunt.

"Alex Winters, Royal tailor at your service" said Alex with a customary bow. He looked to be 18 and was taller than Ciel but shorter than Sebastian. "I am the qualified apprentice of Mrs Baker. She is feeling unwell today, and so I have been sent in her place". Alex showed Sebastian his identification papers. Sebastian inspected the papers and deemed them to be genuine. However he still eyed the human with discontempt. There was something odd about Alex that the demon could not yet pinpoint.

"You are not scheduled to arrive until later today. I must ask you to leave" came Sebastian's words. He had no intention of having the day's schedule put into a complete mess by a mere tailor. Also, Ciel needed to have his slave mark covered before any tailor could begin their work. As for who let the intruder in through the front doors, it must have been Finny. Sebastian also made a mental note to lock the bedroom door next time when dressing Ciel.

"Ah yes, arrive early I have. In that case, I will simply just wait in the guest quarters. Perhaps I can even request a tour of the manor? It would allow me to understand Lord Phantomhive's tastes and thus select the right fabrics and cuttings" said Alex looking at Sebastian directly in the eye. Alex flashed a wild grin. There was no way the Phantomhives could deny such a simple request.

"And it is a discipline of my hired help to alleviate some of the work bestowed upon me," Ciel remarked, giving a small roll of his eyes. "Which considering the massing pile of papers I've been dealing with they've thus far done anything to help. Then again... I suppose no help is still better than complicating things." If his servants had done anything in these last few years it was improve their work ethics. Sure mistakes were made, more than one would think, but at the very least they worked more often than not now. Rare was it that he needed to go down himself and dispense orders, a big change from how it used to be. Musing over Sebastian's remark with a smirk Ciel shook his head, cocking an eyebrow expectantly. "You're willing to follow any order so long as it does not cause your untimely demise. Besides that, you mean."

Feeling the nightie being lifted off of himself Ciel closed his eyes, a ghost of a smile playing out on his lips. "Yes... Have everyone wait for me..." he mused, sounding rather bored at the idea. "To be quite honest I've little desire to attend this, but as a formality and duty I will. I would be none the less disappointed if they were to begin without my being there however." Hell, they could finish the event well before he was slated to arrive for all he cared. The entire celebration was superfluous; extravagant and over the top as so many royal gatherings were. It wasn't the nature of the party so much that annoyed him, but the required attendance, that was something he could do without. Just as the shirt was being lifted up onto his head it was abruptly dropped again, an unfamiliar and curious voice prompting Sebastian to speak.

His usual tailor would not be making an appearance, it seemed. Much to Ciel's chagrin her replacement looked to be an arrogant young man, stupid enough to speak back to Sebastian. It was amusing in a way, the man had no idea just who, or what he was speaking to. He seemed awfully presumptuous when speaking, as if simply because there had been a prearranged appointment he was welcome to come and go as he pleased. Ciel may have asked who let him in if he cared enough, though he really already could assume it was one of the other three bumbling about his estate. Whatever the case this boy had little business being here, even if he was the tailor's apprentice.

Ciel opened his mouth to deny the tailor a temporary stay but Sebastian was quicker to make the point. Smiling amused the Phanthomhive boy turned around and grabbed the eyepatch out of the drawer. "Sebastian, normally I would agree with you... However," he paused, taking a brief moment to strap his patch on. "It does need to be taken care of, and if he is here then we might as well get it over with." He wouldn't mind the opportunity to knock this smug tailor down a few pegs himself, teach him to be so bold. "Go take care of breakfast Sebastian, I'll be out as soon as this is taken care of."

"Yes my Lord" replied Sebastian before he left the room. The butler kept an eye on the apprentice the whole time, well that was until he was out of sight. Sebastian didn't trust Alex, but if Ciel was comfortable with that, so be it. After the door was closed, Alex had all the time to study the one named Ciel. "Well now, should we get started?" sang Alex as he reached into his pant pockets to take out a cloth tape measure, pulling it taught in between his hands. Alex walked towards Ciel and when he was close enough he reached out and pulled off Ciel's nightie in one swift movement, letting the garment fall onto the bed behind them.

Alex slowly circled Ciel, eyes looking at each and every inch of the young Earl. Whilst he was behind Ciel, he noticed what appeared to be a slave mark. Or rather, the slave mark that was used to identify his target. So it was now confirmed. Alex lazily lifted up Ciel's arm in his hand, using his palm to support it. Then he gently ran his fingers along the length. "What smooth skin... I'm jealous. A soft fabric would suit your body best" teased Alex as he lets go of Ciel's arm. Next and without warning, Alex placed the palm of his hand on Ciel's chest. "And a warm chest. You're static prone then?" said Alex before he started to move his hand towards the Ciel's head of hair.

Ciel didn't quite know what to expect of this boy, and while not seeing him a threat he didn't fully trust Alex either. Once Sebastian departed the tailor wasted no time in getting to work, immediately approaching the young earl and withdrawing a tool of his trade. In an unexpected and sudden motion he felt his nightie be whisked away, blinking before staring at Alex abashed. "What in the hell do you think you're doing?" he asked indignantly, feeling rather exposed. As he should, he was now only stood in his britches. Since when was it necessary for him to be stripped in order to be measured? Ms. Baker never did this, maybe it was just a downside of Alex's inexperience. There was little that could be done sans putting on his nightie again, and Ciel had a feeling it'd only be whisked off again if he were to wear it again. On a small reflex a hand went to the band of his britches, grasping it while staring at Alex warningly as he was circled. "These stay on, understood?"

Since taking away clothing didn't seem demeaning enough Alex took one of Ciel's arms in his grip, an innocent enough gesture. Up until he stroked along its length with a fingertip, making the earl fidget uncomfortably. Closing his eyes and sighing he strained himself not to make a sharp retort, opening one to peer over at Alex accusingly. "I've heard enough about my damned skin to last me a lifetime... Do not start commenting on it..." he hissed softly, drawing his arm back. He was being treated more like a curiosity than a patient, how bothersome. Just when he figured he was free from being toyed with a cool hand was abruptly placed on his chest, making him look at Alex wide eyed in surprise. His cheeks flushed a light pink in embarrassment as his hair was then played with, gritting his teeth and trembling as his hair was tousled a bit. "Enough!" Ciel snapped, reaching up and snatching Alex's wrist, pulling his hand away. "Do what you've come here for then be done with it. I'm not a doll you can inspect at your leisure. If you're going to insist on being difficult I'll have Sebastian come back and show you out, do we have an understanding?"

Alex lets Ciel move his hand away, taking the time to admire the boy's appearance. It was amusing to see Ciel's little blush. Now was Ciel ticklish or flinchy? Perhaps it was time for a fun test. "You've not had much human contact right?" asked Alex before he used his free hand to quickly poke Ciel's armpit once. If it worked, Ciel would probably let go of his wrist, at the same time showing his reflexes.

Alex then took a step back, giving Ciel his personal space again. "My methods may seem strange and intruding, but I assure you that they are what's needed to give you the perfect fit. After all, you will be in front of royalty. To measure you with clothes on would lead to inaccuracies that show whilst you are sitting down or moving. That is why most people look different when they are not standing. My guarantees that the difference will not exist. Mrs. Baker vouches for efficiency. My goal is perfection" explained Alex as he opened the door a little and reached for his work bag. "The fabric is the most important factor. You will be most presentable when you are comfortable and not hindered by the many decorations"

Alex turned to Ciel, continuing his professional manner as he lit a lightly scented candle. "If you do not mind, can you show me your previous set of royal suits? Rank them by the ones you favour most, followed by least". Yes, there was a serious side to Alex, and he chose to use it to gain Ciel's trust. It would be a wasted opportunity if he was sent packing by that overbearing butler. "And in case you were wondering, the candle is to calm your nerves. You're a tad tense right now and I could not fit you with the right clothes like this. I need you to be more open to me. Tell me what you like and dislike" said Alex with a genuine smile as he picked up Ciel's nightie and held it out for the boy to retake. It seemed Ciel was more conservative in that regard. Hmm... whilst Ciel was putting his clothes back on, it would be a chance to take another sneak peek at his behind. Hehe.

Out of the pan and into the fire, that seemed to be Alex's motto. Not a second after his hand had been removed did he feel the bothersome need to prod at his armpit. Yelping unceremoniously Ciel drew away from the tailor, glaring at him as he closed his arm against his side. "You're here to make me an outfit, not try to tickle me! You're trying my patience!" he shouted, feeling rather violated by that gesture. Why in the world would Ms. Baker, a self respecting tailor hire someone as utterly hopeless and ill-mannered as this? "Ms. Baker's methods have worked perfectly fine for me for the last four years and she's never once approached me as you have. And spare me your boasting, I've yet to see any reason to believe a word you say. In fact, it would not be completely out of line for me to say you're not even a tailor." After all, the only thing that Alex had shown thus far was he knew the woman whom Ciel employed and he happened to have a measure on him. Were he a phoney then the earl would make the boy come to regret his decision to trick him, either by his own hand or Sebastian's. As the boy went to his bag Ciel's eyes shifted to his dresser, making a mental note of the pistol tucked away in a compartment by the side. Should this loon try anything he'd find himself in a world of pain rather quickly.

"Excuse me? You want me to do what...?" To rank his clothing by his favorites... It wasn't such a thrilling concept, though not a particularly difficult one either. He was hardly a practitioner of fashion though, how should he know what was good and not? As far as favorites went he didn't really have any, clothing was clothing. Sniffing at the air as a new odor was introduced he looked at the candles suspiciously, frowning at their purpose. "I am not tense. I am simply not thrilled with having an assumed tailor treating me like a dress up doll," Ciel replied sharply. Snatching his nightie back he stepped towards his armoire, slipping the garment over his shoulders and tugging it down before patting it down neatly with his hands. With a sigh he pulled open the dresser, stepping to the side so Alex could see its contents. "There, these are the garments I reserve for events. I suppose the one you might call my favorite was ruined recently, so these would be reserves." Unable to help himself the earl yawned, lifting a hand and rubbing at his neat hair, disheveling it slightly. "Be quick, I'm already behind for my other duties today."

Ciel's little yelp was heard by Sebastian, who immediately stopped kneading the dough. He looked up with a slightly concerned expression, wondering if he should just throw the tailor out the window and be done with it. The tailor was indeed human, meaning that he could not do much harm, but it still worried the butler. However, all seemed fine when Sebastian heard Ciel's exclamation regarding the tickling. 'Ah, so that's what it was' mused Sebastian to himself as he continued to make breakfast.

Alex took the garments out one by one, examining them. They were definitely the handiwork of Mrs. Baker. A bit on the old fashioned, classic side, but of high quality nonetheless. So these were what Ciel liked. Turning around and seeing Ciel yawn and ruffle his hair a bit, the tailor smiled. The candles were working and Ciel was becoming a little more relaxed. Alex had no intention of tickling Ciel again as the boy became quite agitated, but he did feel like completely holding Ciel in his arms. However, like a delicate garment, the work should not be rushed. Alex still had quite a lot to show for himself if he wanted to gain Ciel's trust. It would be helpful towards his mission.

"Ciel, the arrangement of your other duties should be left up to your butler to worry about. So how about we play a game and see how much we can delay him? He does seem like the most diligent of butlers. It surely won't be a problem for him" suggested Alex. Yes, it was payback for the rude way he was treated by Sebastian earlier. That butler was too full of himself.

Alex then pushed himself up to sit atop the dresser, looking at Ciel in a neutral way. Seeing the distrust and scowl in Ciel's eyes, Alex changed to a more serious demeanour. "I suppose I started off with the wrong style and look nothing like a tailor. And to an extent that is true. Your eyes see through me like glass, Ciel. I won't hide my past from you. I only recently became a tailor. Before this I was a circus performer" said Alex as he played with the measuring tape in one of his hands. Then with one single flick, Alex sent the tape flying straight out, knocking over the small container of sugar on the trolley.

"The circus boss could not meet his debts and performers like me were sold as slaves. Mrs. Baker bought me for my hands. This measuring tape is all that remains of my past. Something which I am glad to leave behind. So yes, you not trusting me is correct. I don't expect you to trust me anytime soon, but at least I should get my job over and done with"

"So if you are comfortable with it, I would like to continue measuring you. Using Mrs. Baker's method this time."

"I don't believe you understand how being an Earl works, Alex..." Ciel said testily, keeping himself to the side of the dresser. Perhaps were he a few years younger he'd bite for the tailor's suggestion, but with plenty to do today and an important event tonight he had no time to fool around. Eyes narrowing slightly he motioned for the other boy to get on with it, not giving in to his childish games. "Delaying him means delaying me, and I'm not one to be held back. The only thing delaying anyone right now is you, and unless you want me to speak to Ms. Baker about your performance today I suggest you get on with it." What an obnoxious boy Alex was turning out to be. He was speaking to Ciel as if they were friends, and what an absurd thought that was. They may be close in age, but by class they were worlds apart, and thus being 'friends' wasn't something that was going to happen.

It was as though Alex was dead-set on infuriating Ciel as much as he could. Anyone with proper etiquette would have watched what they said, and certainly not sat upon their client's dresser. An eyebrow twitched in a show of annoyance, but to keep his own image up the earl kept from shouting or cussing the tailor out. It wouldn't be that long of an appointment, he assured himself, closing his eyes and exhaling. Why did he get the irritating feeling though that this entire meeting was going to be fruitless? Opening his eyes when Alex began to speak he listened silently, a bit puzzled as to why this was being shared. He didn't care at all about the boy's past, or even why Ms. Baker had taken him on as an apprentice. To ask such a thing was an insult to Ms. Baker's integrity, he assumed that the woman knew what she was doing. What Ciel wasn't so confident in though was sending Alex out this soon, as it seemed he had quite a bit to learn before coming out into the real world. Any other noble, the young boy mused, would have had Alex thrown out on sight.

"Ms. Baker's method? I'm astonished you actually know anything about being a tailor," Ciel remarked, smirking as he turned and shut the armoire again. "If you're serious though then so be it. I need this by tonight though, as you're well aware, so try not to waste any more of my time. My patience is already thin as it is." If he was sincere about getting to work then just as well. Breakfast would be ready soon enough and he was admittedly rather hungry. Ciel went back over to his bed again, standing at the foot of it and holding his arms out to his side, tapping his foot impatiently. "If you try anything again then I'll send you off. I can always go into town and buy an outfit if need be, bear in mind I really don't need you."

For the slightest of moments, there was a genuine look of worry on Alex when Ciel warned him that he can and would report to Mrs. Baker. As much as Alex didn't want to deny it, he was still just an apprentice. His methods were never that much accepted and he still had a long way to go. Speaking of methods, it seemed that sob stories didn't work on Ciel. Nor did being playful work either. Just how would one get on his good side? Ciel seemed so jaded and cynical that was almost impossible to even talk to him. Was this what it was like being an Earl? Man, what a bore.

"Your outfit will be ready by tonight. It won't be a problem" Alex simply stated as he pulled the measuring tape taught again. But as for buying the outfit from a shop outside? That was terribly unlikely. There would be none that would fit an Earl of Ciel's height. The tailor didn't say anything about it though, letting Ciel live his little dream.

As for Ciel's remaining comment: "I don't really need you", Alex had try desperately hard to not grin at that. 'Challenge accepted' Alex replied in his mind. Getting back to his work, Alex started by measuring Ciel's upper and lower arms then wrists. The numbers were taken down before Alex moved onto his chest. Everything was done in silence, with Alex dutifully measuring one part after another. Next were the hips, upper and lower legs and then the ankles. With the last of the measurements noted in his book, Alex was about to pocket his measuring tape when he realised that he had forgotten an important measurement.

"Almost forgot your neck..." said Alex. One hand reached behind Ciel's neck followed by the other. Alex' head was now quite close to Ciel's although there was still a gap. Well that was until, Alex leaned in too close and lost his balance by stepping on Ciel's foot instead. Oh no.

What happened next would depend on chance. It seemed that Ciel would fall onto the soft bed, followed by Alex (who would then be right on top of him in a rather intimate way). If that were the case, Alex would not move away and just cherish lying on top of Ciel. Alex's arms be hugging Ciel and with the full body contact, Alex couldn't help but cherish the rare moment

Well either that or Ciel would fall followed by Alex, although Alex would probably just bump his head onto Ciel's and nip his own tongue in the process, turning it into an awkward, but safer situation.

"It had best not be. I shouldn't need to stress the importance of having proper attire for an evening like this." Ciel remarked testily. Waiting until tonight for the outfit was really pushing the envelope, but he had little other choice. The event had been sprung on him suddenly and with no prior notice, so he had to scramble to find the proper clothes. When he'd threatened to go into town to purchase one he hadn't been kidding, despite Alex's seemingly skeptical reply. It wasn't as if money was an obstacle that limited him, as fact of the matter was he had more money then he knew what to do with. Any other boy in his age group would be eclectic to have so much money, likely running about buying God knew what. Ciel had no use for excessive spending, or at least that was the mantra he held himself to. He was not the atypical teenage boy, he was a respectable Earl and head of the Phantomhive household, and damned it he didn't act as such.

Finally deciding to act like a proper tailor Alex began to take the measurements for the new suit post haste. Just glad to be underway at last Ciel went along with what the other boy did without any resistance, moving in accordance to his requests. If he cared more about the look of the outfit he might be dictating exactly what fabrics to use and what colors. Like many other things though the earl simply didn't care, so long as it wasn't ostentatiously vibrant in color. Once he began working Ciel had to admit that Alex was by no means the blubbering buffoon he'd taken him for initially. Some of his movements were still a bit aggressive and needed refinement, but overall a job well done. That would have been the case until a rather daunting and bothersome mistake took place.

"Being able to fit my head would be useful," Ciel said, smiling faintly as he lifted his head for ease of access. Keeping as still as could be he waited for the measure to wrap around his throat, only to instead let out a soft grunt when his foot was unceremoniously stepped on. Gritting his teeth slightly his eyes shifted to Alex accusingly, opening his mouth to chastise the tailor for being a klutz. Before a single utterance came out he abruptly fell back onto the bed instead, and in just as quick a moment Alex collapsed on top of him. Closing his eyes in case any fingers went flying the earl held still for a moment, uncomfortable under the weight he found himself under. Not wanting to look he finally let one eye slip open, both shooting open in surprise finding himself laid out beneath the tailor. In a rather intimate manner no less, leaving him as red as brimstone and at an utter loss for words. Indignantly he reached up for something to grab onto, placing his hands on Alex's chest and pushing him off to the side with some exertion. Then in a hasty maneuver to collect himself he edged away, pulling into a sitting position at the head of the bed.

Still rather abashed by the awkward embrace all Ciel could do to help himself was look away from the tailor, fixing his nightie as though it had become removed. Why in the hell did these situations always have to happen to him? All he wanted was a new suit, and instead he was molested by the one fitting him. Still red in the face he swallowed nervously, turning his head slowly to look at Alex. "You say nothing of this to anyone, or I swear I'll have you dragged here by your throat..." he hissed, sounding more nervous than angry. What would people think if they saw that or learned of it? Knowing how gossip traveled he shuddered to think of what the implications might be. Him, Ciel Phantomhive, esteemed Earl eloping with a tailor, and a boy at that. It would be the death of his reputation.

Alex savoured the moment where he had Ciel pinned underneath him. The younger boy looked attractive to the point where he wanted to lean down and kiss Ciel's neck, followed by the rest of him. But before Alex could make any more advances, Ciel placed his hands on Alex's chest. It was a move that came as a welcome surprise and this made Alex smile approvingly. Well that was until caught him unawares and actually pushed him off. Hmm... so Ciel was blushing.

He looked a little flustered too and Alex wondered how accepting Ciel would be of a more intimate relationship between tailor and client. "Oh, don't you worry. I have nothing to gain from telling people about this. You're thinking too much Ciel" laughed Alex as he lifted his legs up on the bed as well, crossing them. Alex leaned back on his hands, marvelling at the tapestry around the four poster bed. What an intimate setup... Looking back up at Ciel, Alex could read the hidden expression on the boy. "There's no need to deny what you're feeling. Both you and I liked it" said Alex as he flashed a sexy grin, making his intentions very well known.

Alex was about to say something else but there was a knock at the door. It was Sebastian's voice. "Young Master? You're breakfast is ready". Upon, hearing this, Alex's heart sank a little. He wanted to spend a bit more time with Ciel and get to know him better. If it weren't for the butler interfering and Alex remembering that he was on a mission, he would have fulfilled his desires then and there, but for now he will settle with what he had. As for Sebastian who remained outside the door, he had absolutely no idea what Alex was talking about when he mentioned that they both 'liked it'. Was he referring to the fabric or something else? Humans were so secretive.

What a humiliating posture to get caught in. As soon as Ciel had gotten free from Alex he almost withdrew within himself, indignantly trying to avoid the tailor. His face was heated up and his heart racing, and for the life of him he couldn't place why. That was most certainly not the plan that he had for getting his outfit. What a travesty... After warning Alex about mentioning anything of this matter the earl's eyes narrowed when he made light of the situation. "If you think I'm kidding then go right ahead and tell someone," he said angrily, getting up from the bed. "I will send Sebastian to wherever you might be and he'll silence you on my behalf. I'm not above killing someone to preserve my family's reputation, bear that in mind." It was a bit of an overkill in terms of reactions, he had to admit. If he was trying to keep the Phantomhive name in its prestige though he couldn't dare let something like this get out. It was a simple tumble, but let it blow out of proportion with the media and he'd have a scandal on his hands.

"W-What...?" Alex thought that he had enjoyed it? It was a ludicrous suggestion, absolutely farfetched. And yet... Why was his face still red and his heart pounding in his chest? That smile that the tailor gave him, for the briefest of moments Ciel found himself just looking at the tailor. He had a funny feeling, one he couldn't quite place and this was bothered greatly by it. "I most certainly did not enjoy that... You're delusional..." the Earl replied, frowning as he looked away again. "You must have hit your head or something..." Right now he wanted Alex gone, though not for the reasons he had just a moment ago. Right now Ciel felt terribly confused, and that being such a rare thing for him he was rather bothered by it. He needed time to think, and with Alex sitting there smiling at him it was aggravatingly difficult to form so much as a single thought.

Sebastian couldn't have had better timing in this case. As soon as the butler alerted him to the food being ready Ciel climbed out of the bed, taking a quick moment to straighten out his nightie and hair. "Very well Sebastian, be right out." he answered, sighing as he sorted his appearance. Looking over his shoulder at Alex the young boy walked over, frowning before pointing a finger at the tailor. "Until my outfit is ready I do not want to see you in here again, understood? While I'm eating you are to leave my estate, and not to return until my clothes for tonight are finished." He couldn't handle Alex being there at the moment, it had him all kinds of off. Exhaling to settle his growing nerves Ciel turned and went to the door, opening it wordlessly and heading right past his butler down the hall. The door, unless closed by Sebastian would be left open for Alex to leave, and hopefully by the time he was finished with his meal he could return to his room in peace.

Alex said nothing as Ciel pointed his finger at him, although if it weren't for the butler being outside, Alex could have very well taken Ciel's hand into his and pulled the boy down on top of him. If only the butler wasn't there. Alex kept a steady eye on Ciel as he left the room "I will be waiting for you" he replied. It was a pity that Ciel didn't turn around, but at least Alex had noted Ciel's reaction from earlier. How very nice... and tempting too.

"Mr. Winters" came Sebastian, voice abrupt and stern. "I do believe you are done here" said Sebastian as he stood at the doorway, glaring at Alex. It was not a kind look and it seemed as if Alex had encroached on Sebastian's meal - something that was not welcomed. The demon noticed a few things that were amiss. Ciel was noticeably blushing, his heartbeat was extremely fast and the aura he had was one of lust. That and there seemed to be a lingering scent of Alex on the young Master. And so Alex would be watched diligently until he left the manor.

The tailor got up from the bed (albeit reluctantly) and packed his items, smiling a bit at he measurements of Ciel he had taken down. He looked forward to making the boy's garment and even more so to seeing him again. What fun it would be to dress the boy. After Alex was finished, he left the room, knowing that this won't be the last time. Sebastian escorted the tailor out before returning to Ciel's room and saw the candle that was still burning. Heading over towards it, the demon eyed it suspiciously, but could not detect any black magic or supernatural power emanating from it. It was just a normal candle. However, unknown to the demon, the candle was just a way for Alex to help Ciel in remembering him. The scent would remain in the room for a while, the perfect setup for tonight. Well that was until Sebastian snuffed out the flame with his fingertips and opened all the windows.

The demon was not jealous, but he did think of Ciel to be his and his only. When Sebastian returned to the dining room where Ciel was, he decided to make a suggestion. "My Lord, it seems the inexperienced tailor has caused you to become annoyed. Should I call for another? Or if my Lord commands, I can achieve the same level of workmanship as them and personally create an outfit for you. There wouldn't be a need for tailors and their troubles then" suggested Sebastian.

As for Alex, he began to make his way back to his shop, or rather Mrs. Baker's shop. He was eager to work on Ciel's outfit, looking forward to the time when he can dress Ciel with it. What fun that would be, mused Alex as he secretly smiled to himself. Mrs. Baker was on errands out of town so she wouldn't be back soon. All the better because it meant that Alex could select the best fabrics for Ciel. He could only hope that he wasn't pushing things too quickly, but with his role as a tailor, it wasn't like there were many opportunities to see Ciel. Oh and there was the mission. That too. Alex had almost forgot, especially with his mind now filled with lust.

The strangeness of that encounter left Ciel rather uneasy, doing his utmost not to show that however. Alex had been much too friendly just then, certainly more so than a tailor should be to their client. What's more he was another boy, making what looked to be obvious advances on the earl. For what reason then did Ciel not hate the other young man? He felt confused, uneasy and on edge, but angry was not a word he would have used. Bothered rather by his own thoughts he went to the door once Alex had left, secretly glad for Sebastian's presence. "If he's already got my measurements Sebastian then it would be wasteful to not allow him to make my clothes," he stated simply, sighing to himself. "When he does return later though I demand that you are in my presence at the time. He... Is different, and I don't like it." Whatever game Alex may have been playing at it was to stop here and now. If what he thought was going on turned out to be true, as much as he dreaded that possibility, he'd have to stop it before this could get out of had. He'd had enough girls, and yes even some boys try to win their way into his favor. Almost positive that was the case here Ciel looked to Alex with a renewed sense of vindictiveness and skepticism.

"I'm going to have to eat in my nightie... This is ridiculous..." Ciel grumbled, stepping out of his room. How embarrassing, walking around like a child in his pajamas. Hopefully none of the servants saw him in such a strange state, as it was terribly unbecoming of someone of his position to be dressed like this. They likely would not care, but should their loose lips speak word that their master waltzed about in his nightie he'd be the subject of jokes for some time. Taking the familiar route down the corridor and descending the flight of stairs to the common room the earl then went to the dining room. It was as it should be, neat and orderly with a hot meal awaiting him, courtesy of Sebastian. As it always would be, he reflected, smiling smugly as he sat himself in the chair at the head of the table. Crossing one leg over the other Ciel looked at the food before him curiously, his fingers drumming on the hard table top idly. "Something about that boy bothers me, Sebastian..." he said randomly, frowning. "He's too friendly and casual, he acts as though we're friends. As soon as she is available I wish to have Ms. Baker here to speak to her about him. I'd like to know why she employed someone as... Unusual as him."

Sebastian draped Ciel with a robe before listening to the boy's thoughts. The Lord had indeed become a lot more wary of his surroundings. "I will be in constant presence my Lord. The next time the tailor arrives, he will not leave my sight. He is only human, although I detect a lustful scent on him" said Sebastian, finishing off his sentence with a slightly sly smile. The demon didn't say anything about it, but his eyes had communicated that he could also detect a somewhat reciprocating scent on Ciel. But if it was the Lord's intentions to keep the tailor at a distance, then so it shall be. "I will arrange for Mrs. Baker to meet you at her earliest convenience"

Later on that same day, there was a gentle knock at the door. Sebastian greeted Mrs. Baker who was dressed in her usual attire of traditional designs. Age had caught up with her, but her passion for tailoring still burned strongly in her heart. "Good afternoon Sebastian. I take it that dear Ciel is well?"

"Indeed he is Mrs. Baker. Thank you for asking. My Lord will be seeing you shortly in the guest room. This way please..." said Sebastian as he showed Mrs. Baker in. The master tailor was lead to the guest room where she waited for Ciel's arrival. When Ciel arrived, she stood up and courtseyed as best she could with her now slightly stiff back. "Good afternoon Ciel Phantomhive. I must say that I am surprised at the urgency of this meeting. I do hope my apprentice has not caused you any trouble" said Mrs. Baker who was genuinely unaware of Alex's... methodology and approach. As Sebastian poured tea for her, it was evident that Mrs. Baker had a deep look of concern on her face. Whilst she was not one to place a huge importance on the reputation of her business, she had to do her utmost to ensure that her clients are provided the best quality of service. An unimpressed or angry customer would be her downfall.

"Lustful...?" Ciel had figured that already, and the fact that Sebastian now confirmed it made him shudder. Why did he have to be the focus of a second-rate tailor of all people? If he was going to get into some sort of relationship it should be with a woman of his age, likely one of high standing and wealth. Instead he was being pursued by a former circus attraction who somehow got a job as a tailor's apprentice. Shaking his head the earl lifted his fork, beginning to pick away at his breakfast. He found himself wishing he was successful in his revenge already, then he'd not have to deal with this... Nonsense. "Good, see to it that you do. She had best have a very good explanation as to why I was sexually harassed by her apprentice." There were some serious discipline issues if Alex thought that kind of behavior was acceptable. And to suggest that Ciel had enjoyed it... The nerve of him. "I sincerely hope that for her sake she has a good explanation for this."

It wasn't until late in the afternoon that Ms. Baker would finally reach the Phantomhive estate. She must have traveled from somewhere a bit distant to take so long to reach the place, as Ciel knew the route from her store well, it was an hour or two by carriage at most. Rather than being brought to him no less it was Ciel who was taken to meet her in the guest room. Already not thrilled with the apprentice this minor annoyance bugged him more than it should have, and by the time he got upstairs his mood was rather sodden. Even a woman of her age, despite having seniority by a great deal bowed to the young earl, as was customary. All he could do in turn was give a curt nod of his head, trying his utmost not to say anything right off the bat. There was quite a lot to discuss, but simply delving into it and shouting his problems at the elderly woman was much too unbecoming of him.

"Yes well... Alex's behavior has demanded the meeting, I'm afraid." Ciel replied, taking a seat in the armchair in the room. Crossing one leg over the other he folded his hands across his lap, looking at the tailor sternly. "I appreciate your service and would recommend you to some of my associates without second thought. Your work, while not very renowned is every bit as good as the more prominent tailors. With that being said..." Taking a pause he lowered his leg, resting his elbows on his knees as he leaned forward. "With that being said... Your apprentice's behavior this morning was absolutely unacceptable. I will not go into details about what happened, but know that he was very close to being forcefully removed from my estate by Sebastian. Were he his own employer I'd simply cut off my business with him then and there. However... Because he is under your employ, his behavior in turn reflects on you. While normally I am pleased to use your service, today was a serious stain on your reputation." Ciel smiled slightly at Ms. Baker, lifting his head as he gave her a curious stare. "I do hope you've something to say for your apprentice's behavior. I will not do business with someone who cannot keep their employees in line."

Mrs. Baker listened intently. Her expression was steady and firm, however, her emotions were mixed. She felt confusion and worry, as well as slight panic at what troubles her apprentice had caused. She had known the Earl for a long while and this was the first time she had him talk to her like this. What the Earl said was true - her reputation was at stake. Mrs. Baker did not care about earnings, but she could not lose the reputation or rather, the trust that she had gained over her entire life.

Something terrible must have happened, but what? The elderly woman had hoped for clues as to what had gone wrong, but there was nothing that she could gather except that it was something really bad. She didn't even know what to apologize for or what to scold Alex for when she got back to her shop. The Earl also had no intention of revealing Alex's crime, if it even was a crime that is. What was it? Rudeness? Violence? Theft?

She took off her glasses and rubbed them clean before replacing them, hoping it would allow her to see Ciel's expressions more clearly. Mrs. Baker decided to ask a question, though it was phrased differently. "Has my apprentice caused that much of a problem?" she said although it was a rhetorical question instead of one filled with scrutiny. "But I don't even know what to scold him for..." Mrs. Baker finally added. She then looked towards Sebastian, with doubtful, pleading eyes, hoping that the butler, being closer to her in terms of rank, would give a hint.

Sebastian quietly, but intently moved towards the chair where the tailor was sitting. He stood behind it and firmly placed his hands on both her shoulders. Sebastian leaned down, close enough that his face was next to hers. Mrs. Baker felt uneasy and did not look back at the butler, although his voice was enough alone to send chills through her spine. Sebastian spoke softly, perhaps almost seductively, even though he had absolutely no interest in a disgusting old prune like Mrs. Baker. "Well, Mrs. Baker... Let's just say that your apprentice had crossed the boundaries between tailor and client" said Sebastian as he gave her shoulders a squeeze. He then stood upright again before moving back into position behind Ciel, (perhaps with a slightly triumphant look on his face).

"I- I see" said Mrs. Baker nervously. Had she understood Sebastian message correctly? It was not said word for word, but it was conveyed. "It seems I have made a terrible choice for someone such as Alex to be my apprentice. You see Ciel, I am getting old. My eyes are no longer sharp, my hands shake and hurt. That is why I selected Alex. I saw in his fingers the special magic that would lead to a talented tailor. However, it seems that the lad needs to be taught discipline. His... vibrancy will only lead him to the gallows" There was a slight pause before she rubbed her glasses again and replaced them. "I apologize for Alex's behaviour, Ciel Phantomhive. I will ensure that he will not appear in front of you again and I will resume my duties as your personal tailor starting this afternoon. I will be giving him many scoldings and he will be sent back to restocking duties, forbidden to leave the store until he is disciplined enough" said Mrs. Baker, who now frowned at herself for making a bad choice.

It was difficult to convey precisely what Alex had done without going into detail, and for his own sake Ciel refused to do that. He figured it was apparent enough that he was not pleased and that it needn't be said anyways. Sebastian helped it along with a small quip of his own, and with that the weight of his disappointment seemed to sink in to the elderly woman. She gave him the usual excuses from one of his employees, she was getting old and work was hard. Sympathy however was not something Ciel was known for, and he found it rather difficult to feel sorry for the woman. Simply put everyone grew old, everyone eventually lost their ability to be proficient at their job. If he felt sorry for every person who did he'd incessantly be feeling sorry for someone. "Skill does not always guarantee someone will be capable at their job," he pointed out, admonishing Ms. Baker with a stare. "The most skilled man in the world is useless if he can't do his job properly. Frankly I don't know what you saw in Alex myself, he was awkward and near embarrassing when it came to taking measurements. Have you even let him practice before sending him here?"

Ciel let out a soft sigh, rubbing at his forehead. If he were to fire this woman now he'd be without a tailor, and sans that he would have to rely on Sebastian for his clothing. While not a bad choice he should be branching out his influence, if he did everything in house then he'd have no pull anywhere. "No... Have him return here tonight to finish his job. But you are to accompany him and supervise what he does. I feel that with his master nearby he won't be quite as... Inclined to act like a lout. If he can prove to me that he's got some level of professionalism in him I'll keep you for your business and we can forget this matter." He was not becoming sympathetic to the woman's pleas, and he certainly could find another tailor if need be. Why then, he wondered, did he want to continue this business? After a moment of reflection he thought he found his answer. Sickeningly enough he wanted to see Alex again. As much as he loathed to admit it he was... Curious, about the other boy. Damn him and his ostentatious behavior, everything he'd done had been precisely to make this happen... And it had worked. Ciel hoped that so long he hid it behind a facade of good will he might avoid being found out.

"That is a reasonable agreement, yes? Until I am confident in his ability to operate on his own I'd like you to accompany him. If it costs you a fair bit to travel... I will raise your salary to make the trips." That ought to settle that mess, at least for the time being. If Alex failed to impress then they would be finished, simple as that. No more teases, and no more confusing thoughts, he'd cut the issue off there and be done with it. Lifting himself out of his seat the young earl flashed Ms. Baker a deceptively sweet smile, folding his hands behind his back. "Don't make me regret giving you a second chance. There's a reason you've been employed by me for so long, and I'd like for our partnership to continue. But only if I can be assured that your apprentice is capable of carrying on your work." With that he excused himself, stepping over to the door and opening it up, but taking pause as he stood in the threshold. "Sebastian will escort you out, politely, and I will see you this evening. Until then have a pleasant afternoon." Leaving the door open behind him Ciel stepped into the corridor, making a straight line to his office, a hard line on his lips. This was absurd, to think he was indulging Alex's behavior. Yet undeniably that bastard had done something to make him want this, and he had to see where it would go.
