I'm going to ask for a reading about my emotional wellbeing, when you can get around to it.

I do them myself occasionally, but it'd be neat to compare.

I didn't specify because I assumed that a general post would be assumed to be a request for a general reading.

And it may have been.

But whatever.

Nearly all these cards are saying the exact same thing, each reiterating the point made by the last. Their message is as follows:You will meet someone who has the potential to become a close friend or a new romantic interest. The Two of Cups tells me you'll have a hard time getting close to someone you want to be with. By itself this would be innocuous enough, but the rest of the cards, when put together, all stress perseverance through the whole experience. The Wheel of Fortune in this position suggests that you've been feeling unlucky as of late; perhaps you've been growing discontent with things as they are, or life has just felt stagnant and unchanging. Well, this is the change in luck you need. The Four of Wands warns, though, that while things may seem to have gotten better, there is still work to do, and without continuous effort on your part, you won't be able to keep the nice thing entering your life - in this case, that new someone. And then, the King of Swords stresses even that there will be conflict on the road ahead, but also implies you may have difficulty acting as a problem-solver, or you may be tempted to walk away from your problems. But together, these cards are all screaming that something good's about to come into your life (if it hasn't already), and that thing is worth fighting for.

Sloth said I'm game for a general tarot reading. At least this way I don't have to pay a gypsy woman twenty dollars.

Overall, this set of cards seems to indicate difficulty ahead between you and those close to you, such as your friends or family.

At the center of this lies the Knight of Swords, which suggests you may experience difficulty communicating with others in order to solve the problems outlined in the other three cards. The Three of Cards suggests relationships turned sour regarding those close to you, which could very well be the issues you’re having trouble sorting out with the Knight of Swords. Furthermore, the Queen of Wands may represent a person in your life full of charisma and energy (male or female), who, in this case, may be contributing to the problem. Lastly, the Four of Pentacles refers to stability, though usually more in a physical or financial sense than an emotional sense. While it may, in this case, still be trying to indicate stability in the situation that will eventually arise, it could also represent stepping back to focus more on the physical things – finding stability in something unrelated to your social issue in order to help you de-stress about it.

Sethrine said Oh! I'd like a reading, if ya don't mind. General reading of my life, if you please.

Together, all these cards seem to indicate some sort of conflict between those close to you, and difficulty deciding on the right thing to do.

The Ten of Cups and the Page of Cups, in this case, both bring similar meanings: problems regarding one’s friends or family. However, the Ten of Cups simply indicates problems present, while the Page of Cups in particular stresses your difficulty fixing these problems. Backing up a bit, the card overlooking all of this is the Seven of Swords, which warns against cheating or using trickery. But, what does that mean in this context? Well, let’s look at the Justice card, which suggests you’re having difficulty weighing your options and making decisions, or that you’re unable to get a firm grasp at the situation in front of you.

Putting it all together, it seems there may be (or will be) problems within your family or circle of friends that you may try too hard to fix. The Page of Cups warns you of problems communicating which lead to worsening problems in your group, while the Seven of Swords warns against trickery and Justice warns that you may not be looking at a situation properly. Perhaps you might find yourself trying too hard to bring people together who don’t want to be, and it might be better to lay low and let things take their course.

Barioth said I'm actually more excited to know my reading than I should be. How will my finals go? Or something like that.

Sure thing.

Amusingly enough, The High Priestess, in this case, deals with impatience as well as the supernatural. Which means it may be trying to say that seeking out the answers in tarot cards may not be the smart way to go about your exams.

At any rate, the Ace of Sword’s presence here makes sense: it indicates drive, passion, and facing challenges, suggesting that your finals, though they may be challenging, should go over well if you tackle them with the right amount of effort. The odd cards out here are the Three of Cups and Two of Cups, both of which deal with emotional closeness with others. The Three of Cups indicates current contentness with friends and family, while the Two of Cups predicts a new relationship in your future that could become something big. Are you perhaps a bit distracted by such things? If so, then the Ace of Sword’s presence between the two may be telling you to focus on your exams now, and focus on friends and/or romantic interests later – then you will have a chance to pursue the person you want during the summer. Additionally, The High Priestess’s warning of impatience could also be referring to this.

Awson said Do me.

The focus of this spread seems to be difficulty making an important choice – a crossroads in your life.

Let’s begin by looking at The Lovers. The obvious meaning behind this card is something to do with relationships or love, though it can also refer to building your own morals and ethics. In this case, either one could easily be true. The Two of Wands indicates a difficult decision ahead of you, and the Two of Swords predicts an uneasy compromise just a bit further down the road. Overlooking all this is the Four of Swords, which calls for continuous effort in a task; even if things seem to be going well at first, you need to keep working at it. Adding to this, the Two of Wands states that while there is a difficult choice to be made, you are, at the very least, in-control of where things go from here. But, the Two of Sword’s uneasy compromise suggests that a quick fix might not be a good one. Like the Four of Wands says, you need to keep working at the issue in front of you – whether that issue relates to romantic interests or your morals or really anything else.

Lady Squee said Wut, no. :3 I want to get some feelings about my move coming up in two months and then my education. :) They are linked. Tarots have always interested me.

Quite fittingly, The Fool is about new beginnings and infinite possibilities. And, similarly, the Nine of Cups in this case indicates great preparation – your work up until this point has been solid and you’re ready to reap what you sowed. Both of these cards come with a tone of encouragement; the good part of your life is ahead of you. You’re ready for this. However, The Magician suggests that you’re having difficulty making an important decision or moving forward about something. Perhaps you’re hesitant in all this. The cards warn against letting your hesitation prevent you from moving forward and creating the best possible new life for yourself. Lastly, the Eight of Pentacles is about hard work – plugging away at a project you’ve chosen to invest in. Once you get over the indecisiveness presented by The Magician, the best course of action is to keep working and hope for the best. And as The Fool reminds us, this is only the beginning of your life long-term. There are plenty of possibilities in front of you.

Esper said General reading if you can.

The focus of all this seems to be an inability making an important choice or taking control of your life.

To start, the Six of Pentacles is about knowing when to give and receive advice. Perhaps this is a warning, telling you that by accepting advice from others, you can avoid some of the hardships ahead. The Two of Pentacles is about difficulty making a decision, still weighing your options, and Temperance suggests difficulty finding balance. These two things seem to go hand-in-hand, saying you may have a hard time making an important choice or prioritizing something in your future. And lastly, we end with The Emperor, which is about assuming control. Perhaps the message here is that the Six of Pentacles is warning you to listen to the advice of others around you, so that you can more easily get over the hurtle ahead and sort out your life, regaining control.

Joegreenbean said I DON'T BELIEVE IN ANY of this CRAP! Could I get a general reading for the RP I am running? And/Or my life?

The Lovers often refers to relationships, and in this case, it can mean the relationships between your RPers. While the Ace of Pentacles in the center refers to enjoying a stable situation, we see trouble both behind and ahead of it, as the Nine of Cups suggests harsh relationships between people at the start and the Nine of Pentacles suggests that the brief state of prosperity in the Ace of Pentacles will soon come to an end.

The Nine of Cups can refer to laying a strong foundation for yourself, and reaping what you sow, but in this position, it suggests a failure to do just that. Perhaps your RP suffers from a poor foundation or insufficient communication between members. It may not seem to pose an issue now or in the near future, as the Ace of Pentacles represents happy times, but said poor foundation may lead to trouble further down the road. The stability won’t last.

Drakel said I'll take general... What do your cards say about my goals being a success and what obsticals do they say may be in my way?

It seems here that your biggest obstacle may be your inability to deal with the inevitable and roll with things.

Let’s start by looking at the Death card. Its presence generally refers to inevitability; things you have no control over. Additionally, The Hanged Man after it suggests difficulty accepting what you cannot change, or an inability to move on. Above all this is the Four of Swords, which emphasizes taking the time to clear your head, rest, and then move forward. In short; this is a temporary setback and you should treat it as one, lest you allow yourself to be held back further. At the end of all this we see the Queen of Pentacles, which symbolizes healthy personal growth as well as financial well-being. It seems to me that you should follow the Four of Swords’ advice and roll with life’s punches because, as the Death card reminds us, we cannot control everything in life. But, being able to deal with things and make the best of them will lead us to the growth and prosperity promised by the Queen of Pentacles.

Miss Reanimator said A general reading, please? About my love life? Teehee and other girl sounds.

That is the perfect stereotypical thing to ask about for a tarot reading. I’m surprised no one asked for it sooner.

The focus of this spread seems to be an inability to get what you want, as suggested by the Three of Pentacles, which represents difficulty reaching one’s desires despite one’s effort. The Strength card indicates that this may be caused by impatience – perhaps you’ve grown tired of waiting for someone to find you, so you’re seeking them out yourself. And as the Seven of Wands indicates, you may try very hard to bring someone important into your life. However, The Moon warns against delusions, and all this may be warning you that heading into this too intensely may do more harm than good. Perhaps you shouldn’t try too hard to go after someone you like.

The Nexerus said General reading.

The focus of this spread is the Strength card, which places emphasis on patience and endurance. Indeed, the cards in front of you seem to suggest you have a lot on your plate – the Ten of Swords in particular depicting many issues pinning you down at once. The Two of Pentacles suggests that you may feel like you’re running out of options in order to fix all your problems, and the Seven of Wands says you may lack the courage or drive to do each job properly. The Ten of Swords, though, recommends focusing on your problems one at a time while Strength tells you to endure and push forward, in order to properly fix all your problems.

---

Also FYI you guys; “general reading” just means you don’t have any specific subject in mind and the cards will lead me towards a topic. Those of you asking for a “general reading about X” are really just asking about X and it’s not a general reading anymore.

Not that it matters much, of course. I just wanted to clear that up.

The cards presented here seem to be urging you to become more of a decision-maker, as decision-making lies at the core of the Justice card. The presence of The Star suggests that you find it difficult to look towards the future (or at least have in the past), while the Three of Cups and Two of Cups indicate coldness between yourself and those you are close to and those you wish to be close to. It's possible the Justice card is urging you to take control of these issues and sort them out yourself, and to try to get over your difficulty looking towards the future that The Star represents.

Sorry this one's short. I'm starting to get a little burned out. @_@
