Welcome to America and a wider world than you've ever imagined. Our journey begins as many in this great land in New York City, the City they say that never sleeps.

New York City is a big place and even bigger when your eyes are open to the Magical world. Even the muggle world here is a land of strange mysteries an hidden places and if you know where to look there are sites few ever imagine.

But remember my friends this is merely the beginning of this great an wide land and the collection point of travel, commerce and culture, or if you like think of this as the tip of the Iceberg.
Once called New Amsterdam before the dutch lost the land to the English New York's character is made up of the forced and voluntary blending of cultures the world over and even today the pot still simmers.
The Muggles are oblivious to the Magical world that surrounds them and has long had it's roots in this grandest of cities. Here in this maze like city are so many places that few have ever seen and when hidden by obscuring magic even less.

Hidden in plain site sometimes the Wizarding world is dismissed as mere eccentricity or outright mental disorder.

SALEM ACADEMY

Salem Academy is a school very much like Hogwarts many of it's lesson plans mirroring those of the latter because it's founder clung tightly to the traditions of the old world. That is till the establishment of the Ring Mechanics proposed by the Wizard Icabod Crane. This is by no means a new art form but merely a new approach to the use of magic. Ring Mechanics practice the production of Artifact creation which is more common in use among them.
Located in Salem Mass. on 1800 acres of beautiful grounds with 17 school buildings comprising over 1,000 rooms beside a 250 acre lake it is a school that knows no rival in it's beauty.
Like Hogwarts it has four houses into which all students are sorted. These houses are "Wolf, Tortoise, Snake an Raven" Those of Wolf are said to be Loyal an Brave, Tortoise are Studious an Calm, Snakes are Clever an Ambitious and the Ravens are Prodigy of the Arcane arts.
Unlike Hogwarts these houses are not evenly supplied with students, often the Wolves form 35+% of the student body with the next most prodigious house being the Snakes at 28+% the Tortoise 22+% and Raven often less than 10%
Students at Salem do not compete house by house but as individuals and as graduating classes.

School Speciality
Ring Mechanics
Ring Mechanics or RMs are adept at Artificing (Creating Magical Objects) and as such are known to wear many rings on their fingers as well as necklaces and carry small objects that store one spell effect. This allows the RM to cast thise stored spells quickly and often non-verbally.
RMs make their own rings because making devices that are universally useful is difficult and even dangerous as they may be used against the maker if taken.
It is this reason why the older the RM the more rings they wear.

Game Mechanics wise the number of Rings or small devices an RM may have are governed by age.
17 = 3
18-20=4
+1 every 3 years after
All rings and devices will be approved by myself or a potential Co-GM
