"Men long for an afterlife in which there apparently is nothing to do but delight in Heavens wonders,"

It’s difficult to date just how far back the history of the realms stretches; all that is known that the Angels, in their heavenly glory, were the first race. The history of old is passed down through the races by the Angels, but most dismiss it – for there are always two sides to one story; and the word of the Angels, is not always so divine.

The Angels were ruled by the High Council, a group whose purity was second to none. Their word was law, and they enforced it with great power. They watched over the realms and oversaw every single affair that passed through the race of Angels. However, there was one Angel – the purest of them all, who believed that he and the council should be treated like gods – his name was Melchior.

His status and power gained him any followers, and when the Council opposed his opinions, he stormed Caleum, trying to take it by force; if they wouldn't join him, he would stand at the top alone. Thus the First Talivirian War began.

Many lives were lost and many Angels were tainted, warped; so many fell. This was the creation of entities, the creatures that plague the land in darkness. Finally, after decades of fighting and bloodshed, Melchior was cast out; left to fall into darkness. However, he did not become an entity – he landed on his feet, a new power forming within him; his darkness had merged into his being, his very essence.

He took refuge in Inferno, making it his own Kingdom, ruling over it with sheer brutality. His darkness was so great, he was able to control the hordes of fallen angels with it, angels who had lost their beings and become slaves of the night. Purely animalistic and instinctual they were, they didn't think, they didn't feel – they only had a hunger for souls.

Some angels had not been so unfortunate, and like Melchior, they were not consumed by darkness. These were the first Demons in the history of creation. They served Melchior without question and lived for one purpose – to indulge in every sin known to the realms.

Melchior built an empire, and for a while, the Angels in Caleum allowed him to do so. They burdened one of the members of Council, Romiel with the job of watching over the Fallen Angel. He watched over Inferno from Pugatorio and eventually, he began watching everything. Peace returned to Caleum and the High Council got on with their duties – but they never forgave, and they never forgot.

Over the centuries, the tainted Purity of the Angels and the different kinds of Demon began to evolve, mutate if you will – the first members of the different races were born, and suddenly the Angels and Demons found themselves sharing the realms with many strange and new creatures. Each directly linked to the Angels.

The Angels and Demons found themselves dealing with every soul that passed through, each being divided into two categories. Caleum received the pure souls, while Inferno received those of the corrupt; and Melchior was unhappy. Once again, he stood and questioned the authority of the High Council, and they took it as a challenge.

Thus was the beginning of the Second Talivirian War.

Once again, the war devastated the realms – the main battle ground being the plains of Orbis. Their foolish battles dragged the different races into the war, it started new rivalries; rivalries which would last for millennia, if not, eternity.

By this time, Pure Angels were rare to find, and their souls the most valuable. If used correctly, they could elevate the power of a being higher than possibly imaginable. Not only did the Demons seek them out, the Angels did too – needing to counter the sudden rise in power. It almost sent both the Purest Angels and their Guardians, extinct.

Nobody truly knows, what ended the Second Talivirian War; perhaps nobody truly questioned it. After a century of fighting and death, they were happy to see at least one side win. Despite the rumours and whispers of how it was won, Melchior seemingly vanished out of thin air and the Angels claimed victory; never doubting for a second that he would return.

From there, they decided that Caleum and Inferno were necessary for the division of souls and the balance of the realms – so they coexisted, tolerating each other, for lack of a better word.

However, a new darkness is threatening the realms, and corruption within the High Council is evident. The relationships between races is unstable and behind the peaceful façade is a rotting bridge; and if it crumbles, all-out war will be on the cards once more.

Politics are playing a big part in this potential break out, and each side blames one another for the deaths and disappearances of their high members.

Many travel to Tentatione, sitting in the gloomy booths of The Infernum Tavern for information, for ways to eradicate the other side.

________________

Come one, come all!

Welcome to The Infernum Tavern,

The place where Angels and Demons congregate in secret, plotting each other’s demise; the place where you’re likely to get dragged out the back andsodomised by a peculiar demon/siren prototype – the place where fights break out over a simple glance and the place where you couldn’t imagine a better atmosphere.

This is a meeting place for those of all status, race and gender – for all those who enter through the doors, have one common purpose; to strategize for an upcoming war.

So, sit down, have a drink – and be weary of whom you speak to.
