[Fighting style-] Ambriel’s fighting style is still progressing, but primarily she uses the reach provided by her spears to initiate before enemies can close the distance. Once in close combat, she utilizes the length and sturdiness of the spear as an invaluable defensive tool blocking and parrying blows with the shaft before retaliating. She prefers to take a primary tanking position, compensating for lack of a shield with heavier armor and a sturdy spear capable of taking blows without shattering. However she isn’t protected from all sides and struggles in combat against large groups, her primary focus is tanking strong enemies that fight solo or in pairs. If a fight consists of a large group of weaker enemies assisting a large stronger enemy, Ambriel will focus on maintaining the attention of the larger monster and allowing another person to distract the larger group.

[Personality-] Stubborn, easily frustrated, and yet still very sociable. She is the kind of person that once they make a decision they tough it out no matter how bad it may have been. When it comes to planning she’s most likely the last one to chip in, but she gets incredibly frustrated when decisions can’t be made leading her to act rashly. Amber loves to be around people, and while she’s not out slaying beasts and monsters with a group she can be found in town and village squares relaxing and often times practicing her music skills.

[Biography-] “Come on Amber, it’ll be fun. Just get it all set up and log in, you’ve played online games before why does this one worry you so much? I’ll be home after class and I’ll join you, just remember it’s a game even though it may seem real and you’ll be fine.”

Amber sighed into the phone before she responded, “It’s just weird Sarah. I don’t really like this whole virtual reality thing. How much money did you spend on this stuff anyway? We’re broke college students, we can’t afford to buy this kind of stuff.” Amber sat down on the bed in their small apartment and picked up the virtual reality headset in her free hand, “Just tell me we can get the money back that you spent on this.”

“Amber, please just give it a try. You’re right, we don’t have a lot of money. We don’t have a lot of time. But we need a break, something to get us away from all of this once in a while, and this seems to be the best option to me,” Judging by the tone in Sarah’s voice it was clear Amber had upset her, “You’re always so worried about our money, school, work, and futures that you never stop to take time and enjoy small things anymore. Amber this is a gift from me, just enjoy it, and I’ll be home to talk play it with you in a few hours. Enjoy your day off, hun.”

And that was it. The conversation ended as Sarah closed the call from her phone. Again Amber sighed as she held the virtual reality device, pondering what her girlfriend had said. She knew Sarah was right, and she felt horrible for the way she had been treating her lately. In defeat Amber reached over and grabbed the instructions, “Okay Angel, I’ll try it for you.”
