Name: Zephias Cromwell

Species: Ghost

Gender: Male

Age: A little over 500. He's forgotten exactly how long ago he died, and he may or may not actually remember the current year. He appears to be in his late 30s.

Occupation: Librarian

Personality: He's a lover of inquisitive minds, and values the acquisition of knowledge above all else. Zephias is a flighty spirit, easily startled and easily distracted by anything new or unexpected. He has a tendency to be a bit of an airhead; randomly spacing out at times, and never quite being 'all there,' both mentally and physically.

Bio: Zephias Cromwell was a renaissance man in life, dabbling in as many fields of science as he could find back in his day. His particular favourites were alchemy and engineering, though his constant pursuit of knowledge had unfortunate consequences. After years of constant study and many pounds of rare, expensive ingredients, his grand panacea did indeed grant him eternal life; though not quite the kind he was expecting. One sip of his vile concoction was all it took to violently and permanently eject his spirit from his body, leaving him stuck between this world and the next as an incorporeal ghost.

Though he tried to continue his work from beyond the grave, his inability to interact with -and, indeed, to even be seen by- the physical world left him with very little to do. Zephias spent the next century or two wandering western Europe, haunting various libraries, universities, and private studies. In time he learned how to focus his energies to move physical objects and manifest a form others could see, but the mortals he met had a nasty tendency to fear and scorn the poor scholar.

Depressed and alone, the wandering spirit found his way to Gravetown, where the dead can finally make a life for themselves.

Stuff you often carry: As an incorporeal ghost, Zephias has a hard time carrying much of anything that isn't also phantasmal. When he bothers to manifest a physical form at all, Zephias tends to wear renaissance or Victorian-era clothing, often with a hint of steampunk. He always carries a ghastly grimoire with him wherever he goes, like it's a part of his person.

Type of magic, if any: He can possess inanimate objects to temporarily bring them to life, though I guess that's more of a ghost thing than a magic thing.

Anything else? There's nothing quite like the smell of freshly baked bread. Anything here is changeable if it messes with some established lore.

Name: Zombie # 83830 (You know, that one in the back round of every Zombie Movie/Game)
People Call him Joe.

Species: Human, But now Zombie

Gender: Male

Age: Uhhhhh... Old.

Occupation: Local Zombie-for-hire

Personality: Outgoing and Stupid. He's not smart in the sense of Book Learning, because screw that. He's better at fighting and knowing where things are. Especially if that means money. Money means his favorite brains at his favorite diner. You know, that one down the street that looks like a cat? When you make friends with him, He never seems to leave, just milling around in your trash, moaning near your window. He doesn't mean to be creepy, he just wants to keep you as a friend. All his friends left for a vacation and forgot to get him a ticket. They haven't come back.

Bio: He doesn't remember a lot about when he was living, just that he got shot. and there was cake. and a lot of it. He does remember his Journeys in Gravetown.... To an extent. He was hired by a really rich movie producer to help him in his new film "Zombies!!!". You remember that one movie about that guy who need to go kill a lot of zombies because they killed his family and nothing will stop him? that wasn't Joe. Joe was that one zombie you see in the background, just walking around. Did Joe die in that movie? He never saw it. When it comes to fighting, Joe hits like a Truck, using both fists to ram against the person he happens to fight. He belives that this is a fighting style he came up with, but in truth, its the basic Zombie fighting style.

Stuff you often carry: Clothes, and an Arm, incase he loses one. makes for a nice hitting weapon.

No image- I can never seem to find one. Just imagine that right here is a picture of a desiccated corpse sitting cross-legged in a chair. His skin (From what you can see of it- mostly on his face, as it is the part least covered by thin strips of yellowish bandages) is the lovely color and texture of beef jerky. He is dressed in outdated clothing. Dark eyes peer severely at you through spectacles as withered fingers turn the page of a thick book he was reading.

Name: He has had many names that have risen and fallen with the sands, but one of them stands as an obelisk throughout it: Khaemtir.

Species: Mummy

Gender: Male

Age: Around 3000, but due to the miracles of preservatives, he doesn't look a day over 1000!

Occupation: Freelance magician. Many people in Gravetown have some magical talent, but few have the experience to dispel an Anomaly that's formed in their home, or to cast a veil in time for the dance, or to pass the Magic 203 final without tutoring. It's a broad topic, but after this long a little variance is exactly what he needs.

Personality: When a graverobber first woke Khaemtir some few hundred years after his demise, he was a little bit miffed about it. He appears to have carried this general sentiment all throughout his unlife. It's not really that he means to be rude, sullen, and patronizing, it's just that he's a bit of a bitter old man. After so many years the world starts moving too fast, and rather than walk away Khaemtir would much rather have everyone else calm down and take a seat, thank you very much. For someone with flesh dry enough to be used for tinder, he's a surprisingly wet blanket.

Bio: In life, Khaemtir was an Egyptian sorcerer-priest. When the pharoh died, Khaemtir was fairly willing (Not the he had an outstanding amount of choice in the matter) to be mummified and entombed along with him, to better serve him in the afterlife. Well, that didn't happen. Aside from the one graverobber, of course.
A scholar at heart, Khaemtir used his newfound immortality to learn. For many years he wandered the world, visiting all the greatest libraries, learning languages, and his favorite art, honing his magical abilities. Such intellectual pursuits kept his mind off of the dull, ever present aching pain that came with his condition. But sometime during Europe's dark ages, he became frustrated with the relative stagnation all around the globe, and set his sights on Gravetown.
Gravetown became a place of permanent residence, as it often does to the undead. Nowadays Khaemtir operates a small office in the Crypt district, with business on the first floor and living space in the lower.

Stuff you often carry: Usually carries whatever book he's reading and enough spare bandages to repair any mishaps he might have. Besides that is his wallet, house key, and clothes.

Type of magic, if any: Khaemtir is a potent magician, but he doesn't value raw strength much. He views himself as a bit of an artist, crafting his spells with finesse and efficiency in mind, rather than just throwing power at the problem. While he can work all types of magic with proficiency, he favors earth and air over fire and water.

Anything else?: Lemon mint smells lovely, don't you think?

Turns out I'm not quite as busy today as I thought. Also, is the Crypt district underground? It seems to be, but you never directly said it.

The Crypt is indeed underground, yes. Its equal to the surface side of Gravetown in size, effectively making it the largest district. That said, your mummy is a welcome addition. I'll begin adding him to the hider right away. I'll also see if I can dig into my vast image resources and find you something close to what you're thinking.

As for the return of Zombie Joe, my co-GM and I had to discuss this one for quite a bit. Sadly, we came to the conclusion that it may be best to decline on this one. I wish you the best, though :)

Everything else said and done, I'll begin work on the IC soon enough. Odds are we'll have something within the next couple of hours.

EDIT: The ghost is good too. Adding him as well.

I can't decide if I want to make a Ghoul, Banshee, Ghost, or Yuki-Onna character.
Decisions suck.

If it helps any, we already have a yuki-onna, so a banshee or ghoul would add to the variety

I'm getting started on the IC now.

Probably the same as zombies. I haven't bothered to check the first post, but they're normally the same sort of thing... except for a paralysis deal for some reason, and feasting on corpses. XD

^pretty much

Also, the IC is up. Kinda half-assed, but considering the cast as of yet there's too many options on where to start. Rest assured, we'll pull the groups of one or two together at some point.

Probably in a pub drinking while a crazy skeleton jumps around telling tales.

And voila! We have The Rattling Chain, home to comedy and drinks of the dead! Taverns are as good a place as any to have people gather, and I personally have a taste for the medieval, so I went for a live Dullahan band instead of a jukebox. :3 Always fun to mix the semi-modern and the dark ages!

I know which club Kitty wouldn't frequent. She might be immune to disease, but who wants to drink from a dirty glass? :P
