okay that was corny (and a stretch).

but I really do. Volunteered at the local fair today for like 5 hours, mostly directing traffic. I got to see the best and worst of average, rural americans. Saw the meth people in pre-teen clothes, saw the american flags on the back corner of pickup trucks, saw the awkwardly unhappy families bickering as they left, but I also met a lot of really nice, easy-going people. So, so many of the attendees were shitty as fuck drivers (and they would make completely selfish decisions that held up traffic), but for the most part they weren't belligerent or super entitled at all. I will say that directing traffic was hell. That shit sucked.

Oh also I met this crazy lady who told me she was going to sue the fair because they wouldn't let her park in a certain spot.

1) I'm glad I did it despite how fuckin exhausted and shitty I feel. It took me out of some stressful negativity I was dealing with lately and also showed me more of the community I've been living in. Plus I love working hard and feeling like I've helped people. It's satisfying in an esoteric way.

2) I joined this honors club thing last semester and part of that is participating in stuff like this. We worked paid jobs but instead of getting wages, they were donated to our club for Relay for Life, which we're also participating in. I committed to volunteering for this much earlier in the semester when I was less tired and stressed. haha

She did for a while... I was trying to get her to go in the potty with it but she kept going in the tub, and that's easier to clean than her room XD
