In the small town of Aidensville, South Carolina exists a (mostly) happy and carefree population. On the northern side of the city, most families are thoroughly middle class and live without fear of crime or disturbance. The teen population attend John Aiden High School, where they receive a top notch education, (among the higher scoring in the region) and have no shortage of extracurricular activities to occupy their time. On sundays, the majority of the city packs together inside one of several churches for various denominations and enjoy a peaceful weekend of fellowship with their neighbors.

On the southern edge of the city however, life is much bleaker. The southside of Aidensville is basically a ghetto with a smattering of long abandoned warehouses and meth cook infested trailers. The youth of south Aidensville tend to drop out of school at a young age, either to work doing menial labor to support their family or to take up a life of crime. The poverty wracked families in the area (basically all of them that aren't involved in crime somehow) struggle with various addictions, depression and domestic violence. The thinly spread Police Department has just enough men to keep the peace in the northern part of the city and because of this, they have a very small presence in the trailer parks and ghetto, showing up only when called (which is rare as the people from the southside prefer to handle things themselves)

This tale focuses on one particular group of young people from all over Aidensville that struggle to fit in or function with the rest of society in one way or another. Called the "Outcasts" this band of misfits and renegades can usually be found hanging around the empty warehouses and dive bars of southern Aidensville or in the back corner of the northside's little cafes and diners. The little gang has been together for a few months now with no objective other than having fun and helping each other deal with their problems.

Now, my predicament, we need some actual people to fill out the gang. Below is the character list and a list of backgrounds/character types I'd really like to see portrayed. You may pick whatever you want for your character however. The RP will be divided into episodes with each episode focusing on the gang helping one character deal with some problem or conflict as well as their respective problem/addiction etc. We will only be accepting a total of six players.

Characters

Corey McCallister-The Veteran (Cpt Shelton)
Riley Abrams-The Self Harmer (AnnaBeth)
Ara El Khouri-The Addict (Leviathan)
Howard Pollock-The Abuse Survivor (Voltus_Ventus)
Declan Murphey-The Criminal (Nevermind)
Alexandra Pavlenko-The Runaway (Liriia)
Madison Ranger-The Prostitute (FuriePhoenix)

We currently are full character wise, if you're a skilled RPer and you REALLY want to join, PM me your CS and I will consider making an extra spot for you. Also, I will accept volunteers to play secondary characters/antagonists as the RP progresses

Name: Corey G. McAllister
Age: 21
Appearance:
Nickname: Big Bro
Scars: Small slices across his torso and legs from shrapnel wounds, the occasional knife wound across his forearms
Tattoos: US Flag tattoo on right shoulder, Christian cross tattoo on left pectoral, number 5 hashmark on left forearm, Rattlesnake coiled around right forearm
Outfit: Tan cargo pants, black t-shirt, denim jacket
Problem/Addiction: Post Traumatic Stress Disorder
Background Type: The Veteran
Biography: Corey grew up in Aidensville's northern side though most of his friends were from the south part of town. A mature and compassionate young man, he never fit in well with other teens from his neighborhood and frequently found himself spending time alone or with one of his family's dogs. At the age of 17, Corey enlisted in the United States Air Force as a Security Forces trooper both to pay for college and because military service was something of a tradition for the men in his family. A few years into his tour of duty, he cross trained into the Security Forces' K9 Division where he was assigned an explosives sniffing German Shepherd-Belgian Malinois mix named Magnus who became his close companion and pet from then on. After their training and with a few months of experience stateside under their belts, Corey and Magnus were deployed to Afghanistan and attached to a US Army unit, searching for IEDs and occasionally suicide bombers. They served for a year without issue until one day, during a routine search, Magnus sniffed out an IED inside a small building. As the pair and their Army escorts were evacuating the structure, the bomb detonated, leveling the building and seriously injuring Magnus, Corey and a young soldier whom Corey had befriended. Corey and Magnus spent the next month in the hospital while the soldier's injuries proved to be fatal. Afterwards, both the Airman and his K9 were diagnosed with Post Traumatic Stress Disorder and not long after, discharged from the Air Force. Corey was able to adopt Magnus afterwards as both a pet and a sort of therapy dog. Moving back to Aidensville, Corey found that he simply didn't fit in with the trivial and often insincere personalities around him, now more than ever. So he moved to neighboring Beyersville for a short time and became involved in underground street and knife fighting, unable to find a job elsewhere. Once he'd made a decent amount of money (and after coming close to losing one time too many) Corey moved back to Aidensville again. It wasn't long after his return home that Corey befriended a few other misfits like himself and essentially started the group now known as the Outcasts. Since then, he has become something of an older brother figure to the group and Magnus their mascot.

Name:
Alexandra Pavlenko

Age:
18

Appearance:
Thin (almost unhealthily so) and small. Normally seen with short, dyed white-blonde hair, blue eyes, and a fairly pretty face. Somewhat pale and normally hides her face behind a scarf or hood when out in public.

Nickname:
Alex, Russo, or Little Runner (given to her by a friend she came upon in her journey)

Scars:
Variety of bruises and cuts on her legs and arms.

Tattoos:
A white ink tattoo on the inside of her pointer finger that reads "ушел" (gone).

Outfit:
Normally wears her clothes in layers, much like the outfit below, but when not outside she is much more open about her body and will at times wear crop tops and shorts (especially during the hotter months).

Problem/Addiction:
Depression. Possible Borderline Personality Disorder.

Background Type:
Runaway

Biography:
Born into a middle class Russian American family, Alex had a pretty okay childhood. She grew up in the concrete jungle of New York City, in an apartment with two bedrooms, and, well, she was happy. As she began to grow up, it became apparent that life was getting harder and harder for the Pavlenko family, and by the time she was in seventh grade her father lost his job. Work was suddenly hard to come by, and by the time she was a freshman, Alex was working a part-time job to help her folks. Keeping up a good work pace AND keeping up A-B grades in school started to stress the poor girl out. She became much more aggressive, often snapping out at friends and family alike when something doesn't go her way, and she also became somewhat promiscuous, much to her parents' dismay.

After a year of strange mood swings and sleeping around, her parents finally confronted Alex on the matter. They spouted logic against her nonsensical reasons, saying they would sign her up for a doctor, saying they think she has something called "BPD", and then she snapped. Alex threw a tantrum, tossing over chairs, stomping her feet, screaming foul language at the top of her lungs, saying that it was their fault that they were poorer and not as well off as others, and she didn't stop until a vase resting on a high cabinet toppled and crashed against her mother's head. Anger turned to panic and guilt. Mrs. Pavlenko was rushed to the hospital by her husband and Alex was instructed to stay home and clean up, told to stay calm and not panic. But she did, she panicked so much. She panicked about her mother's condition, her father's anger towards everything, and finally, in a fit of fear and anger and sadness, she packed up everything she could into a sling bag and a backpack, withdrew most of her own money, and ran off into the night.

She ran for a year, heading south-west aimlessly, thinking that perhaps she could gain a life someplace warm. Along the way she met many interesting people, including a homeless man who have her the nickname "Little Runner" and gave her shelter for a few days, and another girl in a similar situation to her. Alex didn't stay in one place for too long, though, until she came to a little town in South Carolina called Aidensville...

Yes. Post a CS and be forewarned, your character will be an important part of the plot of one of the episodes (he'll get involved with a gang or get falsely accused of a serious crime or something and the group has to help him out basically)

I was kinda thinking my character could already be sort of involved in gang crime. Was thinking a sort of street bare knuckle boxer hard-ass situation would be cool.
(Or rather, he was, before he got with this new crew.)

and yes, you may reserve everything not already taken as long as you provide me with a decent CS soon after. This goes for everyone.

Name:
Declan Murphey

Age:
19

Appearance:
Around 6 foot. Athletic build. Dark brown hair. Brown eyes.

Scars:
Many from gang fighting. The most prominent are; scarred knuckles from fighting, a knife scar spanning several inches across his chest, and another knife scar across his right cheekbone.

Tattoos:
None

Outfit:
Plain black shirt, Blue jeans, old sneakers

Problem/Addiction:
Mental issues regarding the death of his brother, Criminal background, Recovering from alcohol addiction

Background Type:
Criminal

Biography:
Declan was born in Limerick, Ireland, to a young working class Christian couple. His father was a builder and his mother a full time housewife, as she, in total, had seven children (five sons, two daughters), Declan the eldest of the lot. From a young age, Declan acted as a secondary provider for his family, finding money any way he could on the streets. Most of the time he would just do chores for neighbours, but as he grew older, he began to involve himself in criminal activities with the street gangs. At first, the crimes he comitted were purely to find an extra coin or two to put in to his younger siblings' hands, but it soon changed in to second nature.
He would drink lots, he would swear lots, and most of all, he would fight lots - he fought on the street with his bare fists as if it were a sport, for no particular reason at all. It would often get out of hand and, one some occasions, someone would get stabbed. Declan had never stabbed anyone, and a stabbing had never had an impact on his life, until one fateful day when a fight - that Declan had started, got so brutal that both himself and his younger brother, Oscar, were stabbed in the chest. He made it out alive, but his brother wasn't so lucky. With his brother dead and his family in tatters, Declan fell in to a deep depression, blaming himself. After many weeks of thinking, he left his violent ways behind and vowed to leave the world of street fighting. He began to sober up and sort himself out, getting a full time job and getting his family afloat once again.
Around 18th birthday, a time when his family were doing particularly well and, on the most part, had recovered from Oscar's death, his father decided that they move away from the city, away from the dark memories and the constant risk of events repeating themselves. The family immigrated to Aidensville, a town in South Carolina, USA. Over the next few months Declan focused on getting a completely legal job to keep a flow of cash coming to his family as well as making some friends with similar predicaments to himself. He lives alone in a small apartment, but still gives most of his wage to his family.
He works in a local garage, fixing vehicles with skills he nurtured in his younger years. He is also a takented singer and guitarist, so he spends some of his spare time busking to earn an extra dollar or two.

CS is basically done, sorry the bio is a bit bad but I couldn't really inspire myself to think of a better one. Also, is it possible for my character to live in an abandoned building or perhaps room with another one of the characters? She probably won't have a job out of fear of her parents finding her via police searches and probably won't have enough money to buy an apartment.

All of you are accepted. And yes, she can probably stay with another member of the group as (them all being close friends and such) they'd never let one of their own have to sleep outside/alone in some hovel.

Captain Shelton said Guys, why is it so hard to portray an American character in an American setting? lol, accepted.

Nothing wrong with diversity, at least I hope not. ><

I lived in Egypt & have an Egyptian family so her story isn't too out there, for me anyway.

If she really bugs you I am more than willing to change her. ^^

I don't want there to be any tension. ^^
