So, we're going to be having an RP that takes place within the Infamous Universe, post-Infamous Second Son Good Karma Ending (Since the good karma has been the official canon material).

For those who don't know about Infamous, the Infamous series is a series of games exculsive to the PS3-PS4 that has you playing characters who are "Conduits," peoplw tih the ability to manipulate a specific form of matter. For the first protagonist, Cole Macgrath, he could manipulate electricity and the coinciding magnetism like abilities. For our second protagonist, Delsin Rowe, he had the ability to absorb other conduit powers and was able to garner abilities such as manipulating and even turning into smoke.

For conduits, exceptions being those that can absorb other powers like Delsin Rowe, they can manipulate one form of matter and even turn their bodies into that form of matter. Lets use the example of smoke. So, with smoke you could absorb smoke to fuel your power and heal yourself, turn into smoke to travel through the air and even vents, and then also send out blasts of smoke and other such abilities.

So, every conduit can manipulate their specific form of matter in the same fashion as Delsin Rowe could with the smoke powers he obtained.

So, now that we've established what conduits are and how they work, lets move on to the next step, setting up the setting and plot. As I said before, we're going to be using the pre-set setting of the games based on the good karma story lines so here's a spoiler warning and there will be a hider as well for those interest in this game and have yet to play it.



So, there's the spoiler. Don't get mad at me, cause I still left a lot of details out for those who haven't played/finished the game yet. I also gave you guys a warning. Anyways, this RP will focus on several Conduits that are living in the big apple. I won't spoil the plot, but something happens that will force them to make crucial decisions that could change history.

Now that I've established the RP for you, now lets get to the rules.

1. Posting. I expect decently length-ed posts with good grammar, this is advanced so I shouldn't have to explain this. I also want everyone to post every 3-5 days. The way posting will work is that we'll do it in rounds, where I'll post to start the round posts, then everyone else posts within the 3-5 day period, and once I post again that will end the previous round and start the next round. If you miss one round, you get a warning. If you miss two rounds, then you're dropped from the RP. However, if you notify me that you won't be able to post for a round or two ahead of time due to IRL stuff or something, then you're fine. It's just that not letting us know is rude to us and I don't want to have people that can't be considerate for us involved here :).

2. Don't be a dick. This is pretty simple.

3. So, I'm gonna have this RP be topped out at 5 applicants at most involved in the RP. This isn't first come first served. Once I have an OOC up, I want everyone interested to turn in a CS to show they're interested. After lets say 3 days of turning in CS's, I'll close the RP and choose up to 5 people from the CS's submitted to be accepted into the RP. This helps get quality characters created and I always like having good characters in my RP's.

Rubber and sand is fine. And yeah I understand that most people are gonna be busy atm with finishing school so that's cool too. Just need to make sure that when we start getting into the RP heavily that you can post when we need you :)

I am interested, but I do have things I would like to discuss about the Conduits.

I am a heavy fan of Infamous, sadly I have not played the second one, but I have run through #1 and Second Son more times then I would like to admit. In addition to my previous statement, I would like to add while my physical experience of the second Infamous game is lacking, I have read up on it hardily and enjoy the details and particulars. Thus, I have that gap filled.

Now, I know that all seems like jumbled randomness, but it is merely there to let you know that I am well versed in this lore and universe. My discussion topic is of powers my character(s) may or may not have in the rp. I am a roleplayer fond of the primal, bestial, and animalistic aspects of things. I play many Rangers, Beastmasters, Lycans, Primal Envoys, and the like. As such I have an idea for a similar character in this world who utilizes powers of the primal and bestial aspects. If you wish to interject this option with the idea that it is unfitting of the universe, I might wish to commend you John- A.K.A The Beast. He was able to turn pedestrians into meta-morphed Conduit creatures of grand power, and while he is in fact a unique conduit, his power of a non-matter-based concept like many of the others. The next is the Blood Festival for Infamous 2, in which Cole is turned into a Vampiric Conduit and gains unique Vampiric Powers.

While the basis for conduits is the control of matter, whether it be natural, synthetic, or otherwise, I do believe there are many other powers that could be utilized as well in the Conduit universe. If you disagree, I am fine with that, and I can find something else to use as a power, but I will surely stand and vouch for this concept first.

I think you mean Bertrand, not John. And bertrand's power was the ability to manipulate genetic material (another form of matter) so that does fall into the matter based concept of conduits, just the not the "normal" style of conduits. They also mention in Second Son that the ability to manipulate organic matter was possible (so once agian transformations and such of the physical nature into more bestial aspects is possible). The Blood Festival is also not canon to the Infamous universe (too my knowledge, I could be wrong about this) so the abilities produced within that DLC is not actually part of the universe and was just something for the players to enjoy, not take seriously.

If you want to use a power that takes on the idea of transforming yourself into beast-man hybrids or even just taking on beast aspects like claws, heightened senses, wings, etc. then that's fine, I'm all up for that since it does fit into the universe of infamous :).

Bertrand, John. XD Names are names, but you understood who I was referring to in the matter. Names can be tricky to remember when you haven't played them and only remember the research from last year.

Also, Blood Festival has not(yet) been confirmed as canon, but it has not been stated as non-canon. It is actually something of debate on many forums, as some people believe that vampiric genes could be a sub-strain of conduits, but I am not all that into deep belief of the vampire deal. I am not a huge vampire fan at all really, I prefer Lycans.

As for what you were saying with Second Son, that is what I was meaning. I have told people of it before, and yet I find an odd number of people dislike the concept of genetic and organic manipulation. I also find that most of the time it is because of laziness, silliness, or stupidity. That is why I have to go through this whole questionnaire ordeal to see if you are one of the more knowledge and reasonable people like myself. XD

Anyway, I will get to work on a CS, I am thinking of having his powers be a cross between one or two full-fledged forms and a few partial transformations. Oh, and I will need to decide whether him absorbing bio-material and organic matter will be a bad or thing around people. XD I need to know if his powers are supplied by animals, people or something else. I would say animals and people, which could make him an Antagonist.

I myself generally don't consider the blood festival to be canon at all. I just thought it was a Halloween thing or whatever it was meant to be related to when it was released and that's it lol.

And genetic/organic stuff is still matter. Anything that has a physical presence is matter, therefore being able to manipulate genetics is a valid conduit ability, that's just indisputable, especially with the quote from second son confirming genetic abilities and Bertrand from the second game. There's no way to argue it lol.

Unfortunately, I'm not sure if we can garner the interest to actually go through with this RP. I'm hoping for at least 2 more people, so spread the word.

If we don't happen to get two more, we can always be the Fantastic/Frightening Four. It just means there is more for each of us to do. XD Though I would spread the word, alas I have nowhere to spread the word too. I don't even look at facebook anymore, and I am certainly the only one of my friends who is a fan of InFamous.

The other int check would basically just be an RP that takes place in the Avatar Universe (the animated show one, not James Cameron) but before the adventures of Aang and such. It'd also not star the avatar, instead being a piece about characters growing up within the setting and dealing with the events and obstacles that would arise as the RP developed.

I may, or may not be up for that. I do like the setting of the Avatar series, but I am not sure if it is something I would enjoy just yet, but I will be thinking on it.

I'd enjoy that, the Avatar one. I'd never been able to find a good RP for it though which sucks.

I've played inFAMOUS and inFAMOUS 2, but have yet to obtain a Playstation 4 to play inFAMOUS: Second Son with. However, I have done extensive research on all three games. So, yeah. Count me in, too.
