So, we're going to be having an RP that takes place within the Infamous Universe, post-Infamous Second Son Good Karma Ending (Since the good karma has been the official canon material).

For those who don't know about Infamous, the Infamous series is a series of games exculsive to the PS3-PS4 that has you playing characters who are "Conduits," peoplw tih the ability to manipulate a specific form of matter. For the first protagonist, Cole Macgrath, he could manipulate electricity and the coinciding magnetism like abilities. For our second protagonist, Delsin Rowe, he had the ability to absorb other conduit powers and was able to garner abilities such as manipulating and even turning into smoke.

For conduits, exceptions being those that can absorb other powers like Delsin Rowe, they can manipulate one form of matter and even turn their bodies into that form of matter. Lets use the example of smoke. So, with smoke you could absorb smoke to fuel your power and heal yourself, turn into smoke to travel through the air and even vents, and then also send out blasts of smoke and other such abilities.

So, every conduit can manipulate their specific form of matter in the same fashion as Delsin Rowe could with the smoke powers he obtained.

So, now that we've established what conduits are and how they work, lets move on to the next step, setting up the setting and plot. As I said before, we're going to be using the pre-set setting of the games based on the good karma story lines so here's a spoiler warning and there will be a hider as well for those interest in this game and have yet to play it.

So, there's the spoiler. Don't get mad at me, cause I still left a lot of details out for those who haven't played/finished the game yet. I also gave you guys a warning. Anyways, this RP will focus on several Conduits that are living in the big apple. I won't spoil the plot, but something happens that will force them to make crucial decisions that could change history.

Now that I've established the RP for you, now lets get to the rules.

1. Posting. I expect decently length-ed posts with good grammar, this is advanced so I shouldn't have to explain this. I also want everyone to post every 3-5 days. The way posting will work is that we'll do it in rounds, where I'll post to start the round posts, then everyone else posts within the 3-5 day period, and once I post again that will end the previous round and start the next round. If you miss one round, you get a warning. If you miss two rounds, then you're dropped from the RP. However, if you notify me that you won't be able to post for a round or two ahead of time due to IRL stuff or something, then you're fine. It's just that not letting us know is rude to us and I don't want to have people that can't be considerate for us involved here :).

2. Don't be a dick. This is pretty simple.

3. So, I'm gonna have this RP be topped out at 5 applicants at most involved in the RP. This isn't first come first served. Once I have an OOC up, I want everyone interested to turn in a CS to show they're interested. After lets say 3 days of turning in CS's, I'll close the RP and choose up to 5 people from the CS's submitted to be accepted into the RP. This helps get quality characters created and I always like having good characters in my RP's.

So, I decided to just copy the majority of the int check information cause it pretty much sums up what I would want to explain within the OOC. With that out of the way, we cna move onto CS formats.

Name:
Age: (preferably 18+)
Gender:
Appearance:
Personality:
Conduit Powers: (Two things here. 1. No ability to absorb other abilities. 2. Be unique WITHIN THE RP. If you see that someone else has applied for smoke powers, you can either compete with them (as this is an application based acceptance) or just do a different power)
Background/Curdun Cay Experience: (For this, I want four major things. 1. How you discovered your abilities. 2. How you got captured and sent to curdun cay. 3. The experiments they did to you at curdun cay. Every conduit was experimented with in some way or another, and some of them were pretty gruesome. Don't be afraid to go dark here. 4. What your character plans to do in NYC now that they're free.)

This is a pretty minimal CS for an advance RP, but I figure that a strong character doesn't need a good CS, but just be well developed within the RP itself and can grow and evolve, not be stuck to the facts written down in a CS.

Anyways, here's my own :)

Name: Mia Feral

Age: 20

Gender: Female

Appearance:

Personality: Mia is three things. Firstly, she's an artist. She defines her life as this. She doesn't make a lot of money, but she's fine with just living in bad conditions as long as she can create art, whether it be painting, tagging, or tattooing. She loves it all, and gladly puts her "career" over most other things in her life. Still, she is a somewhat normal person and general likes helping others when she can, which is her second notable trait, she's a generous person. She is willing to help her friends in need, whether they need to just have company, or she has to actually do something for them to help them. These two traits pretty much define her. She loves making art, and likes being nice. However, her third trait is prevalent every so often. She isn't violent, but instead cold. She doesn't hurt people often, but she has a switch she can flip on and off to go from happy and nice to cold and cruel when she feels that someone deserves punishment.

Conduit Powers: Ink/paint. Mia has the ability to manipulate and transform herself into ink or paint. He can manipulate several forms of ink and paint, including pen ink, tattoo ink, spray paint, regular paint, and basically any form of colored liquid. While she can't blast it out like most other conduits can with her abilities, she can create solid objects out of ink, and even moving objects, like swords and living animals that follow her commands. She can also travel quickly and scale objects by becoming moving painted images running along/up streets and obstacles.

Background/Curdun Cay Experience: Mia discovered her abilities at the ripe age of 13, so she was just newly aged teenager when she tapped into her abilities. She was just messing around with some paint one day, making some art, when it just sort of happened. She hadn't noticed til her parents stumbled in on her, seeing her painting the canvas with floating paint and not actually touching the canvas with a brush. Her parents, scared because they realized she was a "bio-terrorist" called the DUP and had her turned in. Nothing really special about her story, just a kid who's parents let their fear control them instead of their love. In Curdun Cay, Mia was one of the few conduits that didn't have to wear the special gear that most others did. They were just never used pens when near her. They did terrible experiments on her, making her pull the tattoo ink out of others there at curdun cay, then shocking her until she properly re-tattooed the victims, putting both herself and the victims under such pain that they usually both fainted. She would then be taken back to her cell or just had her body tampered with for the next 7 years of her life until Delsin Rowe defeated Augustine and freed all the conduits from Curdun Cay.

Luckily, Mia's bubbily personality wasn't completely ruined. She just developed her cold attitude to help her survive the life that she was forced to live in Curdun Cay. Now it was just a mask she would wear when she was in dire situations. Free from Curdun Cay, Mia quickly tattooed herself so that no matter what, she would always have some ink on her person that should could control and fight with should she ever be in danger. And now that she's in NYC, she plans to try and use her powers on the broad New York City landscape and create art for everyone to enjoy, and maybe make some cash on her art too.

So yeah, the CS doesn't have to be grand or anything, just have fun with it.

Name: Eric Thompson

Age: 28

Gender: Male

Appearance:

Personality: Eric was always quiet, and never really open to just being happy and playing and having fun as a kid. His entire life consisted of being quiet, and simply following orders. His parents were of an older sort and they were raised by older parents of their own who grew up hard-scrabble lives in West Virginia and Ohio. This caused Eric to grow up on the rougher side of parenting, and that was a good thing. He was disciplined and raised with manners, and he grew up with respect. As he grew older, this didn't change a whole lot, except for the fact he got quieter. His parents weren't exactly happy together and his father, while he cared for his father as a son would, was an angry man who constantly yelled and hollered. He was always mad at Eric and his mother, because they did everything wrong and never did enough. Eric had to constantly be working outside and his mother had to be constantly cleaning the house or cooking less his father would explode and go into a rage fit for a tyrant king. He would constantly throw dishes, remotes, phones, and anything he could his hands on. He never threw the stuff at Eric or his mother, but he threw stuff nonetheless. It only got worse with each passing year until Eric was fifteen. Eric, at that point, stopped talking altogether in a pit of depression and went through his last years in school without saying more then a handful of words at one time. He never had friends, and never had a girlfriend, and never had anyone to talk to, ever. Even on this very day, he is still quiet, but not the same quiet he was in school, or at home.

Conduit Powers: Bio-material/Genetic Manipulation. His power is the ability to manipulate genetic material and essentially shift or "rewrite" it in some aspects. He has a very specific variant of this ability that he uses though, as it is easier for him to control and in many way's it is how he sees himself. His primary powers(I have it set up to describe his primary powers that way I can assure you understand I won't make this Op.) are the uses of Genetic Manipulation to shift his own features into that of animalistic forms. For example he often uses "Lycanthropic-esque" forms for combat or quick travel around the environment. He can also preform partial shifts which relate to segmented parts of his body. Though when he partially shifts he can only do partial shifts of that type. He cannot mix partial shifts of multiple types. An example would be the inability to create wings while also wielding large wolf-like claws. He can only accent his form with one animal type at a time, because an overload of more then one type causes his body to breakdown and reject the meld and he could end up killing himself from the genetic level. His powers, like any other, is fueled by that form of matter within the world, thus he must constantly absorb genetic and organic material when his powers are expended and he needs to refuel. His powers are somewhat unique, in that when he absorbs organic material he has limited access outside of that genetic material, so he often consumes what he wants to use for the situation.

Background/Curdun Cay Experience: Eric grew up in a less-then-functional home, and it did wonders for his personality and mentality, but it wasn't until he was fifteen that he discovered his powers. His father had put down the beloved family cat because it kept scratching the hood of the family's truck when it climbed up onto it, and when the cat was put down, it was simply shot out of the blue. Eric didn't know about it until he heard the gun shot, and while he was exactly in love with this cat, he was upset and his father left him with disposing of the cat. He took the limp feline out back and began digging a grave, but while doing so a stray, ferocious dog was found out by the shed. This wasn't uncommon for a rural area in West Virginia. The dog saw Eric as an aggressor when Eric tried to shoo the dog away by shaking his hand and the shovel at it. The dog charged forward, and while it didn't seem very large far away it quickly grew into a hulk of a canine..(WIP. I HAVE TO LEAVE ABRUPTLY FOR IMPORTANT FAMILY MATTERS THAT I WASN'T AWARE OF, SORRY.)

Name: Jack Rinner
Age: 23
Gender: Male

Appearance:

Personality: *To be portrayed in game. Not to offend anyone but I always find it easier to play out a characters persona instead of pre determining what he/she will be like.

Conduit Powers:
Gasoline manipulation- Jack's power consists of manipulating flammable liquids like gasoline. He can alter both forms of it (gas and liquid form) changing the density to switch back and forth without a second thought. Since gasoline is harder to freeze than water he cannot produce solids, but he can produce a very thick liquid resembling oil that holds a high concentration of what ever flammable liquid in his posession suitable for traps or even sliding across due to its thich oily nature. Jack favors gasoline above others since it is most abundant around him and has had plenty practice with it. He can manipulate similar flammable liquids like kerosene, propane, and to an extent even deisel fuel but he finds it harder to control and switch between gas and liquid forms.

Jack can alter the shape, density, and mass of gasoline but he cannot light the fuel without his trusty
Zippo lighter
or some kind of spark. Jack also is not fireproof (not yet) and needs to take care not to set himself on fire in the process of lighting the fuel. He has many burn marks around his arms from when he first learned his powers. Spitting out a thick stream from his hand can literally turn him into a living flame thrower as long as he has his zippo or concetrating a pressurized cloud of gas in a certain direction can propel him short distances (like cole and Delsins hover but much more power and shorter bursts) Jack can manipulate the liquid and the gas but not the flame so "splash damage" is a huge factor especially if he's indoors. If he's not carefull he can quite literally blow himself up.

Background/Curdun Cay Experience: Before he got his powers, he lived in New York with his father working part time at the garage his dad owned while also going to school and hanging out with friends etc. He had a pretty normal life and didn't have any major complaints. That was until his second year in high school he started to instinctually spend more time at the garage and less with friends. His father just thought it was that he found a passion for working with his hands and building cars, bikes etc. That was what his father thought until he caught Jack late at night at the garage tossing the gascan full of gasoline in the air and watched as he made abstract shapes with the liquid mid air. Playing pong with himself using the tin canister as a ball. At first his father was amazed at what he could do but quickly grew scared and made him promise not to use this "gift" outside the garage, Jack promised...

Several years later, Jacks father was getting very sick and he had to hire help to keep up with general service. A small crew of four guys (including Jack) kept the repair shop alive during the day, while at night Jack kept practicing with his powers trying more dangerous stunts like lighting the fuels and focusing the gasses in an attempt at flight. One of the other crew caught a glimpse of this when accidently leaving his keys at work late one night and secretly recorded Jack with his phone and put it up on the internet for all to see. The DUP quickly caught wind of the video and located Jack within a couple days.

Jack was held in captivity in a fairly light level security in comparison with others, obviously not much of a threat with no flammable liquids nearby. Randomly processed by scientists testing his ability. Forcing him to keep switching liquids to solids and vice versa among other tedious tasks. Once Delsin defeated Augustine, he was set free among the rest of his kind and rushed to get back home. When he arrived to find that the shop no longer belonged to his father due to his passing. After a month of mourning he took a job at the very same shop part time and roams the streets of New York on his custom harley he's been working on for quite some time now doing odd jobs helping out other conduits with similar situations like his own.

As for firo, I'm pretty sure that this RP won't be up and running for another few weeks so you'll be good. Just turn out a CS whenever you can.

Name: Taylor Orwell

Age: 21

Gender: Male

Appearance:

Taylor is fit, and built for quick movement. Taylor's main method of movement is free-running, but he is lighter on his feet and incorporates a lot of flips and jumps to both his movement and attacks. He's also very flexible, much like the cloth he manipulates. He is seldom seen without a shirt, as his upper torso is heavily scarred from the experiments conducted on him in Curdun Cay.

Personality: Taylor, due to the extensive amount of time he spent at Curdun Cay, is a quiet individual. He can be a bit smug at times, and considers himself a pretty good fighter. However, he is willing to take orders, as long as he is sure that innocent civilians won't get hurt.

Conduit Powers: Taylor can manipulate and absorb fibres. However, his control of this ability is extremely limited due to the time he spent in Curdun Cay. Due to his heroic alignment, Taylor's fibre-based attacks are colored with splashes of white and blue fabric.

Background:
Los Angeles, 2009

Taylor Orwell passed out in the middle of a party. Paramedics ensured that he was alive, but failed to wake him up. He lapsed into a coma. His parents panicked. After one month, Taylor awakened to a relieved group of people who cared for him. A doctor almost immediately started asking him questions, pointing out that Taylor passed out at the exact hour that Cole MacGrath had activated the RFI. Barely out of a coma, Taylor felt an immense amount of stress, and his powers first manifested when he almost strangled the doctor to death with a blanket.

Distraught and confused by this recent development, Taylor's parents kept Taylor secluded from the outside world. Taylor was completely satisfied with keeping his powers hidden, as he also considered himself a freak because of how his parents treat him. He lived the next year or so as a "normal" teenager. So, when the DUP arrived at their doorstep, it was understandable that the Orwells were surprised. Apparently, a neighbor had given the DUP a hint for a sizeable reward. Dubbed a "bio-terrorist" and taken under custody, Taylor's life was completely flip-turned upside-down. Being one of the first "bio-terrorists" taken to Curdun Cay, Taylor earned the special privilege of not having anyone to talk to. After extensive examination, Taylor's powers were determined to be cloth-based, and extreme measures were taken to ensure Taylor had little to no access with any type of clothing fibres.

Only being taken out when he was to be experimented on, Taylor's mental disposition deteriorated at a constant rate. He began talking to himself and started hearing voices in his head. 6 years of his life, he spent this way. So when Delsin Rowe and his companions finally defeated the DUP and freed the captured conduits from Curdun Cay, Taylor was surprised by how much the world had changed. Confused, alone, and scared, Taylor looked for a purpose. He ran away from Seattle, eventually arriving at New York following several months of hitchhiking. After helping a young woman that was being mugged, Taylor realized his powers can be used to help others so that they won't experience the helplessness he felt in Curdun Cay.

Gonna have to ruin the parade for you thrrnvwls and say that light is not an applicable power.

1. Being able to absorb and heal in any light is kind of ridiculously over powered.
2. Light is not actually matter. Here's a link that explains how light isn't matter. Essentially it says that light is a form of energy, and that it has no actual mass and therefore can't be defined as matter.

And before you say that neon light was in the game, neon within the infamous series is actually plasma in form (the technical fourth state of matter) and therefore has actual mass and can be manipulated.

So sorry, but light is a no go.

I don't have a problem with the character if you want to use him still, just add a new power. If you want to do a full re-make though then yes please just edit the post isntead of adding another.

Also, thank you for not arguing with me on this. Nice to have those willing to change when I ask :)

Also, Neon can be, aside from Plasma as it is in game, made of a mixture of gases. Gaseous Neon filled bulbs often time make up the of the neon works, as tey start as gas, then become heated in the bub and essentially become Plasma, though some stay gaseous.

True fact is true, but I figured that wasn't necessary to explanation. Anyways, if someone wants to do neon that's fine, and even using it's gaseous form is fine, would make it more unique to the game

How do you feel about the metal powers? If your on the wall about it I can switch up. The only reason I'm saying this is because I can't find a picture that fit the character well aside from the now broken image and may do a total makeover

I think metal as a whole is a little to broad of a material for him to exploit. Maybe limiting yourself to a few specific metals that share similar qualities would be better if you don't intend to just do a complete overhaul :).

To be honest I'm surprised no one thought of manipulating water yet. It's a very abundant source, and since it's the manipulation of the actual compound as a whole, that means you'd theoretically be able to manipulate water in all 3 stages of of matter, which might actually be another op matter I need to consider now.

Not a big fan of water for that very reason. It can easily be op. But in a way, aren't the characters in the game all op? Think about how op cole got towards the end lol

Well we also need to go by the events that led up to each character being op. Cole, as an electric conduit, wasn't that amazingly powerful (minus kessler who had years upon years to build his power).

Cole on the other hand wasn't that amazingly powerful, just versatile. And then in the second game he got powers added to him via a machine making him even stronger and giving him variety. Delsin was op cause he was basically the "rogue" of the infamous universe, which automatically makes him op.

This being said, when you look at every known conduit in the infamous universe, only the antagonists (bertrand, augustine, kessler) and the protagonists (cole and delsin) are really the only "op" characters within the franchise.

Now for our characters, limited to having only had one specific set of powers that in all actuality are decently limited, Mine can only control paint and ink, even if she can make solid constructs, they're still flimsy and easily destructible at best, just unique and versatile. thrn plans on making another weak material conduit, a cloth based one. So far, metal is the only real "op" one, and that's only cause you didn't set the parameters of what metals he was able to manipulate since he wouldn't be able to control all metals since they all vary in the actual material, like copper versus zin, or lead versus iron, etc.

Hells yeah weak-material conduits unite.

EDIT: Also, keep in mind that even if you deem your element weak, conduits can combine powers, such as Phantom's and mine being able to create a splash/cluster grenade that stuns enemies while pulling them together to be finished off.
