Hello everyone.

A group of friends and I are planning on playing a asoiaf RPG this summer and we have decided to switch things up. We are going to play this like a Nation Roleplay Grand Strategy game, with heavy character roleplay and a plethora of well balanced game mechanics set to canon standards.

I see there are a few others drumming up interest for somewhat similar games, but we are interested in running this game in a different matter. The scale on which we wish to play this game is larger than our group of players, so we wish to involve you! Do not worry, as we are not cliquey and are all very friendly! But enough about all that jazz. Let's get down to some details.

I am borrowing a ruleset that has been developed and used over the course of several long years, of which I take no credit of creating. But i can assure you Its a solid system.

Each player starts as a minor king, with two lords sworn to them. The game takes place after the Andal Invasion, but before Aegon's conquest. Westeros is fractured. Dragons are unkyetn to this land. Let the steel of men shape it, not the fire of beasts. There are a slew of mechanics pertaining to literally every aspect of the game. But we aren't just rolling dice here guys. This game is going to be very RP heavy. Players will work with appointed moderators to ensure the game mechanics are used fairly and as intended.. After a roll or a ruling has been made, the affected player(s) will Roleplay the situation.

This game is quite expansive, and there are many crunchy rules. That is why I found this forum more suitable than NRP. Speaking of rules, I plan on providing you all with a nice detailed post containing all the information you will need to play; but I have yet to get it properly organized in a streamlined format.

This will be a decently complex system, but nothing too unmanageable. The system can be learned with a bit of effort and clarification. Players are going to be required to keep detailed records of their house's inter workings and most likely the game is going to be broken into multiple threads based on varying locations, events, etc. This hopefully can all be interconnected by a grouping system (I am unaware if RPGuild has a system for this.) Or organized through a detailed OOC/Record thread (via links). I would normally just create a free forum for this sort of thing, but that would deny the game traffic and interest, two things we need for the scale of this game and setting.

Depending on the general interest we receive, we will be proceeding with this game in anywhere from a matter of days, to upwards of a week. Interested players need to have a solid grasp of the rules (which will be posted later today), be decent at roleplaying and writing, and be able to maintain/contribute to a mature and friendly environment. I have seen many people get very bent out of shape over this game, and its not to be accepted. We just want to have fun and enjoy the setting, we expect the same from you. Players must also be moderately active, posting at least every day or two. We understand everyone has a life and sometimes the game can move slowly, but you will fall behind/possibly hang up the game if you go days without posting. In cases like this, if notice/instructions have not been provided to a mod, decisions may be made for your characters by moderators in an effort to continue the game in a timely manner. Besides that, a general knowledge of the setting is highly recommended, but not required if you are willing to learn.

As it stands, that's all for now folks. Feel free to ask any questions you may have, and I will do my best to provide you with a answer. I look forward to playing with you all.

We would be more than happy to assist. I am still in the process of refining the rules and figuring out the best way to set this up. I wish the guild had player moderated subgroups or something for it would make organizing and streamlining the game much more simple.

Alright everyone, I have created a test thread for the purpose of formatting the rules to this horrible code.

There is the link, I still haven't posted the rules on Combat and Military and a few other things, but this should wet your beaks for now.

Lemme know what you think.
