SnakeStriker. You bloody bastard! The Commander thought irritably as he zipped through Metrotown's mid-afternoon skyline. Nick was in the middle of performing a very sensitive case of eye surgery when his phone beeped. It usually means two things when his phone beeps: one, his late for work; two, town's in trouble. In this case, its the latter.
Thank God, there was Nancy who's willing to cover for him. She's always had this huge crush on Nick, although she hasnt exactly told him that, it was pretty obvious. So when Nick asked her, she was more than willing to take over the surgery. He made a mental note to treat her at the Tavern later to make it up to her.
As he neared the vicinity, the Commander saw it was worst than he expected. Three buildings were on fire, and one building looks like its about to collapse. Damn that Snake!
Firetrucks hasnt reached the vicinity yet. It may take a while before they arrive. I must do something with the crowd first. The Commander thought. Since the police hasn't arrived yet, no one has cordoned the area, and couple of gawkers were still loitering near the burning buildings.
"Alright, people!" The Commander shouted over the noise, "Show's over. I need you to step aside please! That's right. Move over! Go! Go! Go!"
"Commander!" One woman called below, there was desperation in her voice, "My daughter's still inside the building! Please, please help her!!"
The Commander hovered over her, and gave her a reassuring smile, "Tell me where she is."
"Our flat is in the second building, third floor, the second door near the stairs. Please save her!!"
Just as she was about to finish her last sentence, the Commander has already bolted in towards the burning building. There was something in the fire that doesnt sit right in him. He knew he's somewhere in this burning inferno, waiting for his first chance to strike, but where? The Commander decided to shove the idea of him for now, he's got some little girl to save.
He flew in as quickly as he can, repelling any obstructions in the way with his mind. The building creaked dangerously around him. He knew its only a matter of seconds before it collapse. And then he heard something move on his far left, something made a scratching sound, or was that slithering he heard? When nothing happened, he decided to ignore it and push to the third floor of the building.
"Help!!!" A little voiced screamed in the distance.
"I'm coming little girl!!" The Commander called back.
((sorry I got carried away it seems))
