I should probably be focusing on my other RP's. Well, this is more like an idea than a roleplay, and I probably will NOT host it anytime soon. I need to do some more research on the subject anyway. This is more of a ''come in, discuss'' topic than anything. Share ideas, discuss, give suggestions, etc.
"What if I told you we could breed the perfect human?"
-Dr. Eric Johnson
Now, on to the idea. Helix is a modern-day science/drama roleplay that centers around a group of scientists and their controversial work. We're going to assume that in this world the idea of cloning, tank-breeding, and selective-breeding are entirely looked down upon.
Dr. Eric Johnson is a scientist. He's a very rich scientist at that, as he has been described as a genius and his work has been an absolute gift to mankind. However, Eric is somewhat... deranged. No, he's not crazy or psycho, but he is obsessed with creating the 'perfect daughter'. Rather than just do this the normal way (sexual reproduction), Eric has been hard at work trying to 'clone' someone he wants. He is obsessed with a young woman named Ellie, and he views her as a 'perfect specimen'. Eric acquires some of her DNA and uses it to create an embryo, and then he uses this embryo to create a clone of Ellie. This clone will be an exact match of Ellie, a carbon copy if you will. They will look, act, grow, and think exactly alike (although this can be entirely dependent on stimuli the subject is exposed to).
But Eric has kind of dug himself into a hole. He could have never done this alone, and the team of scientists he has gathered (you guys) didn't waste all this time to create a 'perfect daughter' for your boss. Oh no, you had plans of your own. What would happen if you cloned yourself? What would you do if you recreate a long-lost relative, or 'resurrect' your wife? What would you do with this technology? Could we alter the DNA of someone to get the results we want? What if we could create a super-soldier? Or an army of super soldiers?
But what the rest of the world? Will the government pressure us into doing something we don't want to do? How will we be treated now that we have 'broken the code of nature'? What groups and organizations will we have to deal with and how will our actions affect the world as a whole?
