So my food storage place is filled up now with lots of nearly empty cereal boxes. The cereal amount in the box is too high to throw away, yet too low for a generous amount in a bowl. So I just leave it there and eventually after like 2 years after all the chances of running into this awkward amount near the end of the box's life, it builds up. Now there's just useless cereal boxes laying around everywhere. Then I have to throw it all away and watch pounds of cereal go down the drain.

Well I know that specially marked boxes of Kellogs cereal are part of a complete breakfast, with a full amount.

Is it really that hard to buy another box of the same cereal and when you get to the bottom, combine the remains of both?

I saw the title of this thread and immediately thought, "No, no, no, stop. We don't need another one."

But then I actually read the OP and I guess this isn't so bad.

But seriously though there are better ways to handle that buildup of cereal. Particularly, if you have more than one of the same kind, why not just combine them?

I mean if you hate wasting food so much then surely you could've come up with a better solution.

Or like, mix them all together in a ziploc for a once a month mystery bowl.

Life hack:

Before opening a new box of cereal, turn the bag upside-down. The crumbs and dust will be evenly distributed and what's left at the end will be more desirable to eat, even if it isn't a full serving.
