"That might be just what he wanted." I watched as other soldiers jumped in. That only brought more guards and more chaos. Most of everyone in the room was out of their seats and trying to intervene. If they weren't involved, they were leaving or trying to force the rest of their food down.
"You can't do this to us!" Another soldier shouted. "You're treating us like pigs straight to the slaughter house!" He was struggling to break free from the guards that held him. Quickly, they took a taser and stunned him right in the side. Immediately, he fell to the ground. This only angered more people. This was turning into a riot and I didn't want to stick around to see what else would happen.
"We should get out of here. Things are getting really ugly. We could be next and we haven't even done anything." I peeled my eyes away from the hectic scene that was in front of us.

I nodded quickly and looked back at Daisy. "Let's go then." I said before pulling my arm back off of her shoulder and circling it around my ribs. Standing up, I looked down at my plate, still half full of food and considered taking it with me, but I didn't want it. Not because it wasn't good, it was, but because of why they'd given it to us. One good meal meant the destruction of a camp full of people, it made me want oatmeal and milk again.
Looking around the room, I noticed the only door out was on the other side of the room, which meant we had to somehow make our way through the chaos in front of us. I sighed and looked Daisy in the eye as I took her hand. "We're not getting separated in that. Come on." I said and stepped forwards into the crowd of angry people.

I nodded, giving his hand a small squeeze as we began to walk into the crowd of chaos. "Don't let go of my hand." I had to speak loud so Sam could hear my voice over the shouting. "Please." I looked ahead as the crowd got thicker. As Sam led the way, I made sure to try to avoid flying fist and legs that tried to kick their way out of a guards grip. As we walked, someone in the crowd elbowed me right on my bruised ribs. It took everything in me not to double over and fall to my knees. Instead, I wrapped my free arm around myself and we continued on.

It took everything I had to push through the crowds, hoping and praying no stray leg or arm came flying at my already aching body. Every time someone came to close I winced in preparation for pain and drew back from them, finding another route through the crowd. I held Daisy's hand tight, my arm out behind me as I dragged her along, hoping we were actually going in the right direction.

"Can you see the exit!?" I yelled over the crowd. I had no clue which direction we were going. We'd dodged a few of the major brawling that was taking place, but we couldn't dodge everything. Someone rushed by me, pushing me in the process and almost knocking me down. I was no longer holding onto Sam's hand and I wasn't sure if I'd be able to find him again. Not in this mess. "Sam!" I called. "Sam!"

I turned back to answer Daisy's question but before I got the chance her hand was ripped from mine and I'd lost sight of her. I stopped walking, staring at where I'd last seen her before yelling out for her. "Daisy!" I called, struggling to see and push back the way we'd come, with people constantly shifting and rushing by me. I felt like I was going around in circles.
"Daisy!" I shouted again, not sure if I could hear her calling my name or if it was just a loud mix of everything going on around me.

"Sam, where are you!?" I shouted, this time louder than before. I continued on the way we were heading, hoping to run into him again. "Sam?" I called. I stopped in my tracks, trying to focus on if I could hear him replying to me. I could swear I heard my name, but I wasn't sure which direction it came from. I was being pushed and nudged as I dodged soldiers trying to get at the guards. A part of me wanted to just give up and wait it out. But I had no clue how long that would be, or what would happen to Sam or I in the process.

In the midst of actually trying to push through and find Daisy, I found a gap and stumbled through, finally able to breathe. I looked up and paused. I was right beside the door. "Are you kidding me?!" I cried annoyed before turning around and looking at the swarm of people, trying to recognize Daisy amongst them. Every now and then someone would burst out from the crowd and run out the door, raising hope and then disappointment when it wasn't who I wanted it to be.
"Daisy!" I yelled out again, cupping my hands around my mouth to make it as loud as I could. With no effect, I moved to the closest table and climbed up with a wince, all of this activity and stress making me breathe heavily, which I didn't want or welcome. "Daisy!" Standing tall on the table, I hoped to get a glimpse of her or at least let her see me.

I heard my name and looked up. I still didn't know where it was coming from and I hoped to find out soon. "Sam?" I didn't even attempt to shout. I herd my name once more and turned in the direction I thought I'd heard it come from. On a table, not too far from where I stood, I saw Sam standing tall and cupping his hands around his mouth to call me. I jumped up, waving a hand towards him and began to make my way through the crowd. I only hoped he'd seen me and would stay where he was for just a few more seconds.

I'd begun to get worried. I couldn't see her, couldn't hear anything from her and it was making me nervous. Had something happened to her in that crowd? Maybe she'd been knocked out and was currently being trampled... How could I have left her in there? I knew Daisy could handle herself, she was strong... but this...
I jumped off the table and repressed a groan of pain before moving back into the throng of people. It was almost worse than before, the shoving more intense and stronger as the crowd got angrier. "Daisy!" I called out again, blindly making my way through the crowd. Before I'd taken a few more steps, someone was pushed right into me and I almost shoved them straight back before I realized who it was. "Daisy. Oh my god. I'm so sorry." I said as I grabbed her tight and wrapped my arms around her, suddenly overcome with relief.

I was pushed again and this time I almost spun around to throw a punch to whoever had did it. But before I could, I'd realized I was pushed right into Sam's chest. I was actually grateful that I was pushed, because if I wasn't we wouldn't have run into each other. "Sam!" I hugged him back. "It's not your fault. Someone pushed me and I accidentally let go." I gently pulled back from his embrace and looked him in the eyes. "You have to lead the way out. I have no clue where to go.

I nodded and stepped back slightly, gripping her hand before turning back around. I glanced over my shoulder every now and then to make sure she was still there as I pushed back through the crowd. Soon enough we had made to the edge and we both pushed through, the air much clearer where there were less people. "Let's just get out of here." I said and pulled her towards the door.

"Thank God." I took a deep breath as he lead us out. I hadn't realized how much I could barely breathe in all that thick, hot mess we were trapped in. After we were out of the crowd, I looked back to see how bad it was. It was still a complete mess and I was happy to be out of it. "I can't believe that just happened." I sighed.

"I'm so sorry we got separated That was a mess." I said as we walked outside and I let the door swing shut on the loud chaos inside. Letting her hand go, I stopped walking to lean against the buildings cool walls, wrapping my arms around my sore torso, aching from everything that had just happened. "I thought you'd gotten trampled or something." I said looking over at her with a small smile.

"Luckily I didn't. I had a feeling you'd made it out." I smiled softly at him. "Are you ok?" I asked, as he wrapped his arms around his torso. Being in that mess with all those wild people, flailing and pushing whoever they could, I was sure he'd gotten a little banged up. We both did. "We could sit here for a bit if you like. Give us both a chance to get ourselves together before we head back." I was still quietly trying to get my breathing back on track.

I nodded. "Mhmm, I'm fine. That was just a lot to handle." I said as we stood against the building together. I could still hear the yells of the soldiers inside. "I think they're going to have to rethink their plan, there might not be any one to send to the front line if they all get sent to jail after that." I noted as I rested my head against the wall, letting myself breathe.

"They can't send them all to jail. But I guess they can try, huh?" I shook my head. "Bet they weren't expecting that." I ran a hand through my messy hair and dug a hand into my pocket, gripping my inhaler, making sure it was still there. "I just want to go home. I wish they'd send me home." I frowned. "They won't do that though." I mumbled, scoffing and rising off of the wall.

I nodded taking in everything she said. "I want to go home too." I admitted with a sigh. "It's not much, but it's better than where they're going to send us. I'd rather just go somewhere I've never been before, somewhere relaxing and warm." I looked down the road as I spoke, there was no one around, everyone was either inside the food hall or had the sense to get out while they could.

"That would be nice. A warm place, just soaking up the sun." I trailed off, letting a small silence linger in the air for a bit. "You think since everyone is so angry, that they'll fight harder to stay alive?" I looked up. "I mean, we're being forced to almost certain death. None of us want to die... The really pissed off soldiers will use all that anger when it's time to go." I thought for a moment, thinking it might not end up as bad as we think it will. I could also be very wrong.

I shrugged. "Would you rather not have the chance to find out?" I said looking over at her before I stood up and slid my hands into my jacket pockets. I was still in my track pants, having just gotten out of bed not even an hour ago. I wasn't tired though, my mind was too wound up for sleeping, even though that's what I knew my body needed. It was very dark out here, with one light above us marking the door to the food hall. "We should probably get back to the cabin."
