See, there's an idea.

The only flaw is that we don't know where the plot will go regarding those. We'd basically have to take a vague idea we know is going to come, and then just bullshit everything. I don't know how comfortable anyone is with that.

Isn't everything we plan to do already up in arms? I'm not saying we follow whatever direction M15 goes, not at all. Just using the presence of an Avatar as a springboard for our own ideas.

Hi we have people this is beautiful. I can now safely say we need no others! 8D

Gisk -- Ravnica alone of all the multiverse is restrictive, yes, but I also don't see how planeswalkers would reasonably stay in one plane long enough to form an organization dedicated to protecting it. Maybe everyone has different personal ties to it? If so then by all means let us play actual planeswalkers (who don't quite suspect Bolas yet). Let's have a vote, majority goes.

whatever bright individual mentioned it -- yeah, every one of us should play a different color combinations. Very nice interaction that can go on. I think maybe the Promenade's theme, mana wise, should be at least three color combinations, up to maybe even five. To show impartiality. What do you guys think?

As for casting spells and so forth, this is what I have so far. Let us assume we are new planeswalkers who have been sojourning in Ravnica, though this is valid even if we are not planesalkers.

Every creature we have encountered, spell we have learned and artifact we have uncovered is stored in our mind as knowledge. Casting a spell is fairly straightforward. When we wish to summon a creature, we pull it from the aether. If some of you are not familiar with how that works, we basically create a 3D illusion. It's an illusion yes, but it is still capable of ripping your head off. As for mana. What I was thinking is that any being with magic needs to be a) in an area with its mana present and b) the larger the spell, the more time and mana required to cast it. So a druid in a forest is going to be in his home turf, expect him to be able to drop a Worldspine Wurm with (relative) ease. Conversely an illusionist might have more difficulty in a forest. In a large city like Ravnica, there's going to be a flow of all colors at all the time, but this flow is, I reckon, not going to be too overwhelming for any individual color. This means any mage can cast spells at any time in Ravnica, but is going to have difficulty bringing big creatures out.

The front page is updated and contains everything we've discussed so far. I'll be creating the ooc later this evening.

Yeah, Fallen, we kinda did that out of nowhere. Probably should have kept bumping the topic, or sent PMs.

Well, you now my vote on the Planeswalker front. As for how/why they'd stay: I figured any Planeswalkers that we play would be freshly awakened, and perhaps they don't actually understand how to planeswalk yet, so they're stuck in the first place they accidentally pwed to, which happens to be Ravnica.

I think three colors should be the max any one player can use, because otherwise everyone overlaps with everyone and it kind of undoes possibility for character conflict/interaction through differences.

Well, I think the idea behind "lands" is that it's a place that a planeswalker has a connection to. So how about this slight change to that idea: Same deal, mana is easier to come by if it's plentiful where you happen to be. But, in addition to that, each character starts with, say, four "lands" that are near and dear to their hearts, and from which they can channel mana. And the kicker here is that characters who use more colors would have more difficulty casting their best and most complicated spells.

we can have a certain amount of mana to cast yeah

also we won't exactly be following the printed mana cost: we can all agree on the fact a sphinx will cost more than a fae

I assume we won't be playing with literal cards anyway, but will instead just kinda use them as a guide to how much a spell might cost.

Wait, what about triple colors are we forgetting?

Here's color combinations I wouldn't mind making a character for:

Red white
Blue Red
Green Red
Green Black
Green Black and White(assuming triple colors are still allowed)
White Black
Blue Black

Could also use any monocolor.

I love the concept of using dual colors, but rebelling against the ideals of the guild that usually embodies those colors.

Quick question. Are there going to be legendary creatures that are summonable in this? and if so if we had a history with them before gaining our spark would they still remember us or would it be like a copy?

since we only pull things from the aether, I'm going to go ahead and say no, legendaries are not allowed.

The legendary creatures will still be within the story though, won't they? They are plot devices in many senses.

If you went with four you'd be a Nephilim. :P

Completely off topic: I love Ahri, so that means I love you.

Completely on topic: That is completely understandable, Rex.

OOC is up

let's try to be different with the colors, there's lots to chose from. I call u/r!

Not everyone has to necessarily already be affiliated with the Transguild Promenade. My character founded it and has been running it for a while, but yours could just as easily stumble by it in one of the early posts. If you already have been involved with it, be sure to message me regarding the history, so that we can work things out between our characters (and establish a semblance of friendship/rapport)
