Dropping her bag on the floor of the shuttle Sarah began looking around at the people that had been waiting for her to arrive so the shuttle could leave. Just glancing at all of them it seemed that there was around 50 other people, give or take. The door behind her began to close as the shuttle prepared to take off into the clear blue sky and eventually would ascend into the blackness of space. After that? Who knows where they were going.

Victoria Volz set in a corner of the shuttle sleeping, using her military issued duffel bag as a pillow. That duffel bag contained every single possession she owned except for two things, knives she had strapped to her arms hidden under her sleeves.

Before she went to sleep she checked everyone out and counted the number of ways to kill them with absolute ease. Only one person there she considered a real threat based purely on physical appearance, but she learned early in life that even scrawny people could be lethal with the right training or with the right motivation so she learned to treat everyone as a potential lethal threat.

Donovan Baldur stood confidently in the shuttle, a heavy looking duffel bag hanging from his shoulder. He scanned the room with a slight grin, looking for a friendly face to speak to. Most of them looked at random pieces of wall or floor, avoiding eye contact. He caught a glimpse of a black-haired woman tucked into the corner of the shuttle, eyeing the rest of the recruits like fresh meat for the slaughter. "Hope she's not as bad as she looks," Donovan thought as he moved his gaze onward. For a fraction of a second, his eyes caught those of another black haired woman, who had just entered the shuttle.

Having gained the excuse to start a conversation, he quickly made his way over to the woman, and greeted her with a wide grin. "Hello there! I'm Donovan, nice to meet you!" Donovan thrust his large hand out for the woman to shake.

"Hello there! I'm Donovan, nice to meet you!" the large man said in an eager tone. To be honest she didn't think anyone around here would
start a conversation this quickly. And especially from the biggest guy in the room. It was actually really nice for someone to open the
conversation. "Hello I'm Sarah, nice to meet you as well." A nice short response, she didn't want to talk so much he'd become annoyed with her.
"So Mr. Donovan what makes you qualified for this project?"

Donovan considered the question for a moment, and answered with his same enthusiastic tone, "Qualified? I mean, the officers thought so, ain't that enough?" He chuckled, but continued speaking, "Well, I'm good with explosives, and I can lay a trap like no one else, on this shuttle or off it. Grenades, plastic explosives, rocket launchers, hell, even some artillery. If it goes boom, I've mastered it,"

Realizing he had gone off on a bit of a tangent, Donovan took a deep breath before asking his own question, "So how about you, Ms. Sarah, how'd you find your way onto this shuttle? I hardly think it's just for your good looks," with the final comment, Donovan gave out a boisterous laugh.

"Well thank you for asking." Thinking it over in her head she didn't know why she had been chosen when she was just a grunt who just led a squad. I mean yeah she was good at it but there were also others who did their job well. But thinking it over her best guess was due to the amount of time she had in the field.

"But if I had to say why they chose me is because I saw a lot of combat in the Great War. I've ben fighting in a war since I was 18." She smirked a little out of being able to brag about that. "I've been a squad leader for a majority of my career and towards the end of the war I was put in the ODST program. Basically if you need something done with a squad of men I'll be there to get the job done." After finishing up her bragging she felt the shuttle jolt as it began to move.

Victoria woke up shortly after they started gabbing like school girls. She didn't open her eyes or even move. When they started talking about why they were there she thought about throwing one of her knives into the big guys throat. Then she remembered what one of her former COs said, and thought better of it though the desire was still there.

Milo sat in the corner, no clue why he was here. He knew he was sedated heavily, and couldn't do much even if he tried. He was forced to just sit and listen, he managed to turn himself so he could most everyone just before a girl walked in. She was quickly greeted by the largest man in this place (even larger than himself.) "Prick looking for a date ain't he? Yeah bet he is" Milo muttered under his breath. He kept looking around and just as the shuttle lifted off he noticed one girl in the corner, it was so slight but as the shuttle lifted off and the lurch was going he could swear he saw the basic outline of a knife under her arm, "And there's the paranoid one, so a big lug wanting a date, the last second arrival, and then there's me all messed up. The rest seem fairly normal for now," Milo kept thinking.

"So what are we all doing? Why are we here?" Milo though thinking of what to do, if he ever can

Donovan nodded, and was about to respond to Sarah when the ship lurched upward, putting Donovan off balance for a moment. He steadied himself a moment before speaking, "A career soldier eh? Something tells me you and I share that trait with a majority of those present," he chuckled and continued on, "But it'll be good to have an experienced leader on the team. I'm glad to have you with us," Donovan smiled brightly one more time before moving on to inflict himself on some other recruit.
