Ok, I have a few ideas in my head, however of course, I can only do one, I shall present all my ideas to you all and let you decide which rp Is best.

Adruis: Age of Strife(Magitech/Science Fantasy)
It all began Five hundred years ago, when the world entered a new industrial age. It started with the discovery of the mysterious elemental ores known today as Etherium, a mineral with powerful properties, if consumed, gifts the individual with untold power at their bidding, for a time being. Manifesting the worldly energies around the tip of their very fingers, at their command. It was thought of as sorcery in it's simplest terms, and in many ways, they are correct. The Ore itself was Magic in it's rawest, physical form.

In mass quantities, Civilizations grew more advanced as it was soon discovered the ore was a perfect source of fuel and power for machines as well. Nearly replacing all other forms of fuel, ushering in a new age for the world of Adrius. Etherium soon became the driving force for the years to come, and in that time, the world emerged anew, more prosperous then ever before, it seemed a Golden Age was to dawn on this new world. But, such things cannot last for eternity. By 2022 NAC(New Adrius Calender), Hard economic times have fallen, nations exhaust their supply of etherium, and now squabble over the Etherium Deposits that dotted the world, conflict sparking to life as tensions rise. The long lasting Golden Age was over, and all out war is on the horizon and the world on the brink of annihilation, what actions will you take to survive these trying times?

New Dawn Rising(Post-Apocalyptic/Far-Future)
Little memory remains of the Great Cataclysm, the event that torn apart the old world, the world we once knew. How it started has yet to be seen, and remains as the greatest mystery of our time. However, as the years go on, centuries, even millennia, we grew more and more distant and apathetic to the truth and Fact of it's origin, we simply rebuilt our world anew. And marched on forward. However, knowledge of the before times were more fortunate, we were told as children that the Earth was the center of great Empires, spanning worlds, the stars above were once ours to rule. It was the Golden Age of Peace and Dominance for Mankind, but something happened, a great war was waged between the Empires of Mankind, leading to the Great Cataclysm, a great blank in history, followed by the Dark Age, the Earth was scarred and broken, and fell into total chaos for many centuries to come,

The Dark Age, however, came to an eventual end, as Warlords rose to the power, and at their helm was the Technologies of Old. These Warlords banded together as they sought to bring stability to the world once more. The Hundred Year War begun, as parts of the Earth was slowly brought into the Fold.

Over Two Millennia had passed since the war, the Order on the Earth has slowly, but surely restored, New Nations rise from the ashes of the Old World. A Second Golden Age may soon dawn upon us, leaving the past behind us once and for all, but that may not be so, for Mankind is quick to forget the sins of the past, and through their personal ambitions, bring our scarred home on the brink of war once more.

The Final Frontier(Sci-fi)
Since the beginning, man has always been fascinated by the stars, and always has sought to venture out, beyond the earth and explore the Galaxy freely. And by 2399, the time has finally come, as over a hundred sleeper ships leave Sol behind to new horizons. As the years go by, new worlds are settled, colonized and terraformed, humans are no longer chained to the Earth, and have entered the Final Frontier for a new start, a new future. However, as Mankind places itself on the Interstellar scene, they will face many challenges and dangers from one another, and and other species.
So, which of these call your attention?

I like them all, New Dawn Rising seems like it has the most promise to me. However, would it be too forward of me to offer some insight / ideas in general?

While not so much direct ideas, I do think it'd be interesting to see some NRP ideas that break away from archetypical ideas. Not to say that space opera / fantasy / steampunk / apocalypse / colonial aren't fun (i've been in... like, most of your NRPs in some capacity over the years), but I think you could perhaps garner a little more giddy enthusiasm from new and old players alike if things were mixed up in some way, you know?
I'm not saying 'do this' or 'do that', of course, but the very nature of NRP allows not necessarily just 'nations' but also any group large enough to differentiate themselves as factions or controlling powers.
Maybe instead of, for example, in Adruis, instead of playing standard nations, we were to play multiple pirate factions within one nation? I think it'd be pretty sweet if in The Final Frontier, instead of full nations doing generic nation things, it was a selection of expeditionary / corporate forces waging political and economic warfare over a single, highly detailed and described planet. Just things like that, just little additions and changes which would make the idea seem a little more fresh, you know?

:)

Those do sound interesting. Especially the Idea for Final Frontier :)

Although what you describe is close to what I had in mind, but larger scale-ish(depends on players), In either scenarios, players will option of being nations or none-national factions. Mix it up a bit.

(On another note, I noticed your old name, welcome back silux :D )

I stayed hidden for too long until Asuras figured out my ruse

But yeah, I only mention this because I know you love to GM NRP games and have a tremendous capacity for generating story lines and plots for various worlds and such. If you were to try Adruis, you could even have players design their own mini-factions within one empire: one character plays the court, another the army, another plays pirates. That way there would be clear conflict with a clear goal and an even clearer disparity between the different capabilities of each player. Or...something. However I think you should ideally stick with large scale or small scale exclusively. In principle having a mixture of the two sounds appealing, but people who choose to play nations over factions soon develop an e-penis power complex, even if they assure you they won't.
Your ideas definitely have a helluva lot of potential, just add a little twist to the NRP genre and you'll get people flocking. I know I will :)

I'm game for all three NRP ideas, but I like the Adruis and Final Frontier ideas the most.

I also like the idea of non-generic NRPs, with unconventional gameplay and focus beyond large nations. I like more personal-centered NRP's, where major figures greatly sway the course of nations and societies and wars. Alternatively, we could have a NRP more centered around ideologies and beliefs instead of technology and raw numbers.

Regardless of what you intend, I look forward to any of them.

So far, I have one idea for Final Frontier(as it seems to be ahead, but that can change), I will probably go with a similar scenario that NewSun gave, possibly with some additions.
