Is this kid's hair black or brown?

I want to do a cosplay of him and I've been trying to shop for wigs on the internet, but since I just can't figure out what color this would be...

The reason why I didn't wanna label it "dark brown" was because I most likely won't find a perfect dark brown, so I was wondering whether it would be closer to black or an average brown.

The general consensus still seems to be brown, though.

The way to tell if hair is dark brown or black is to generally look at the tint under light -- if the edges of the hair appear to turn reddish, then the hair is brown... if you see more of a blueish color, then the hair is black. (True black hair will always tint blue, dark brown hair will tint reddish.)
